[Music] hello everybody my name is Amanda from Plant arena and I want to welcome you and I also want to thank you for sharing your time with me it means the world to me that you are watching these videos and spending a little of your time with me so today I thought maybe we would talk about plants that grow fast like opposed to slow growing plants which are you doing a video on already but I wanted to talk about plants that just kind of start getting big right before your eyes and there's quite a few of them and listen I know that like fast growing plants it all depends on where they're growing in the kind of Sun they're getting and the kind of heat and the environment but for the most case these plants tend to grow faster than some other house plants that you might have in your home or thinking about getting in your home so let's just get started and start talking about some of these plants well since I'm up here let's talk about Boston ferns this is a tiger fern and this fern I've had for I think about a year and this was on the porch and they brought it inside and it's been doing extremely well it's getting very long the thing with these ferns is that you have to keep the soil somewhat moist and it's a little bit of a problem sometimes for me because I can't always get up here I'm on a ladder and but I try at least at least once a week to soak the soil thoroughly and get them you know just keep em oh I've pretty much until I can get them back on the porch it's hot up here because this hot air rises and these guys get a little bit more um they drive a lot faster than my other plants this one's still okay but I really should water it and also I can usually tell by picking it up a little bit feeling it it's pretty dry so after I do this video I'm definitely going to water this plant and so in general will grow pretty quickly given the right environment especially Boston ferns even the asparagus fern grows very quickly and the kangaroo paw firm grows very quickly we actually are carrying a bunch of those on our site plant arena calm not that yeah we have the tiger front I don't know if it's in stock I don't remember anymore but some are there so the ferns are fantastic and also philodendron especially vining philodendron this is a mic ins and I'll show you a bigger picture of it or a better picture of it but I have quite a few of these and they just keep going they keep growing I have not tried propagating this I think I'll do that but again they like the right conditions I'd like medium light too bright interactive light they like their soil to dry out between watering they like to be fertilized during the growing season so if you give your plants these conditions these are requirements they're probably gonna push out a lot of growth especially during the growing season which we are pretty much in we've just entered it depending on where you live I live in the Northeast so we're just going into a big spurt of growth for these guys so philodendron is like also let me just bring you to some other ones how about that I'll just walk you through well go see the plants let's go see the plants together now here's another type of philodendron this is a Brazil philodendron it's a little bit slower growing than so many other philodendron but it does it's in the fast growing category of plants because it's a vine and to me vines tend to grow a lot faster and this one is in a little bit of a shady corner and a darker corner so it's not growing as quickly as some of the other ones then I'll show you but if for sure is in the category and it's quite beautiful and it really likes the soil to dry out between waterings so if you're over watering these plants you'll probably not have them grow as fast and they might even die so be careful of those what of the watering and in this corner we have the lemon-lime philodendron and we also have Hartley philodendron that is just kicking it it's kicking it this one I I have to tell you something I did over water oh look there's a little bit of a variation on the sleeve too I love when that happens I absolutely love that so these guys look at this I mean I'll tell you this is probably these are probably about a year old - a little bit older but it's not that one's nice and full on top but these vining killer dungeons are going to eventually take over your house if that's what you want so be prepared to do a lot of propagating and hold on my dogs at the door hold on and here we have two more we have another Brazil philodendron in the background and we have another heart leaf up front on this totem and it's starting to really push out a lot of new growth I think what I will do here though is I will just trim it back and you see that I'll trim it back because I just like the narrow form and shape of this particular plant on this pole so that's probably what how it will remain so these guys will go in propagation little stations little bosses and get propagated time to get propagated so they're pretty fast growing plants this tie constellation philodendron is kind of a fast grower - you see it it grew a lot you can see the pole there's the pole and look how much it grew I've only had it for like six months or eight months I don't quite remember but it's a it's a grower it's a grower okay as for the philodendron that do not climb like this gigantea m-- it's growing so fast I can't keep up with it it keeps throwing out new growth new leaves got some flowers going over there so I mean I've got a few of these I'll show you a couple of other ones that I have but they take up a lot of space so beware when you're buying some of the smaller versions of these plants big they're going to get big and then I take up your space let's go look at a few more the philodendron class design is big but also it actually does grow quite quickly as I've already had a brand new leaf when I brought home and I have another one right there you see that that's another new leaf coming out so big fast and big which sometimes scares me but sometimes work so just remember hold on I can put the mic down think about having the space you need because if you've got a big fast growing plant you might be in trouble you might be in trouble then here's another one here's the week's red philodendron that is continuing to grow I know it's the growing season I know that's why it's happening a lot faster now but I expect to get at least like five or six new leaves this season and especially on this guy too so it's a fast one so the philodendron scan go very very quickly given the right conditions okay so let's go on to the next genus and let's talk about it - this right here both those EPIP remanence bothos do like love to grow they don't like love to grow they love love to grow and this guy listen has been through the wringer you know it's been through the wringer it's been moved a couple of times I need to give it some fertilizer or I need to cut I don't know what I need to do to it I may need to hack it back but regardless when I hack it back it responds really well this must have been doing extremely well I'm rotating it and it's starting to grow on the floor which I like for some of the time but other times I decide I have to cut it back so as long as you're up on the pruning and not afraid to prune your plants back you're gonna be fine with these guys just remember they're fast growers they want to take over they want to engulf your house with their arms and that's not such a bad thing here's another golden pothos oh do you believe me now they're fast I mean you can catch them but they're fast let's talk about some Hoyas some Hoyas actually grow quite quickly like the car noses I've noticed so and I have this exotica and I have this beautiful tricolor that I showed you in the last couple of videos ago whenever that was and it just keeps on putting out new growth new growth looks sometimes like dead stuff if you're not familiar with it so don't cut off these vines especially if they're if they have color or they're kind of soft and malleable and because this is new growth and leaves will shoot out from from here just saying that just saying it's a little tempting sometimes but look it's new it's gonna happen so give them a little bit of time let them dry out between waterings and you know they're gonna they're gonna take off especially when it's more humid and they get the light the bright indirect light that they need so and they do like to be fed and they will flower they will reward you I'm sorry if I'm making you dizzy but I just I don't know what I'm doing I'm not used to holding the camera like this and used to talking at it now okay those are a couple of oIA's let's see what else I can find this Chelsie Hoya has been growing fairly fairly quickly I would say it's a little bit on the slower side when it comes to Hoyas but like the leuco noses and they definitely grow faster then I'd say this Chelsie but it is starting to put out new growth and I'm pretty excited about that because I absolutely love the leaves on these those they're just little like tea cups I don't know what they are but they're certainly pretty ok well I'm still up here I'm gonna show you come on leaf your my way chain of Hearts chain a heart you kind of can't stop once their roots are established they just keep on going they just keep on showing I did not clean up I did not clean up before I did this video sorry yeah the the chain of hearts really respond well to cutting back they like to dry out a bit between watering but you'll notice when there'll be our curling a little bit it's time to really saturate the soil and then let it dry out and give it good indirect bright indirect light but they're gonna go like crazy people like crazy plants when they're happy and you can propagate these like so easily so easily and I'll do another video on that again of course but Jana hearts and Sarah pgo woody eye grows very very fast let's move on what was that sorts of stuff in my way the grape Ivy's missus the grape Ivy's I can't stop these guys who just I don't know they want to be everywhere they want to be with you they want to be on you and they attempt it very very well so I like this guy drying out like completely and then I keep it kind of it gets felt like everything else gets in this crotch so it's like medium indirect light with grow lights on all day long so they're doing pretty well but I'm telling you when I put this outside in the summer it just crawls and it vines on everything it raps on everything and there's a couple of different types I have another one over there but this one does goes for it so I'm not sure if you are familiar with this but if you are looking for something that's going to go grow very quickly on your porch or inside you might want to get one of these highly recommend it for a faster growing plant try to scan - yeah try to scan - yeah they're wandering Jew's these whoops can't stop these either they're prolific they're just gonna keep going and going and then especially they're heavy if you put them outside in the summer they're gonna double in size maybe triple and then if you bring them back inside you might want to cut them back because they definitely start declining a little bit but I kept this guy going in and give up I kept watering it I didn't let it dry out too much and I'm giving it the same light all the stuff gets bright and direct medium light so have and I I love them you can propagate these like crazy just keep propagating and then you'll have like a gazillion other plants come summer I'm gonna put this back Tuscans axis is yet another another fast-growing vine it maybe is not as fast growing as some of the pothos but in general I have been getting new growth all all winter long all summer long it just it just likes it it doesn't look at this beautiful big one coming get that big beautiful leaf I do cut this back I cut this back off in and when I cut it back you see where the new growth starts from right at the node let's look at this one too so I cut this back here and it grew right right at the node so wherever you cut your pothos you're at this your satin silver satin put those are second axis you're going to get some new growth from where you cut it okay so don't worry so much you'll actually help it grow faster and more bushy if you really do cut it back a bit okay let you know that this one's fairly new and it's starting to already cascade you see that so it's starting to move down with gravity and if I really wanted to climb up or climb on something you know I'd give it I would give it the pole but this book golden pothos owns this pole along with this Vaughn stare at a stone eye which will take me to monster out of zone I'd no doubt about it that monstera a dystonia grows very quickly this this just keeps going it keeps going it's way above where the pole ends and I'm gonna have to do something about it so but I don't really care it's standing up on its own even if it attaches itself to that philodendron up there that's fine with me and then I've got this one over here little dark I sorry but it's look at this it's just going and growing I love it I love it it's not perfect I just I noticed that I see that leaf funky but it's fast it comes fast so if I lose a leaf or two I'm not gonna be upset I'm not gonna be mad I'm never really mad about plants let's continue on and another monstera that grows fast is the monstera deliciosa it just keeps on it just keeps on growing I don't know what the heck but it just keeps going this is another cutting and it just keeps putting out new foliage this is a new leaf these are the new leaf which is a little droopy but that happens I don't know why but it has another new leaf coming from that leaf it just multiplies they get big they start taking over your house and so just keep making more cuttings because we all want to be surrounded by monster or deliciosa or at least I do so that's another quick growing indoor plant and big and it gets big soon gaudium are definitely fast growers and this is just a cutting this was just from a cutting and this is all just new growth from the last month or so maybe two months I don't remember but it just wants to go out yeah I probably will have to propagate it again because there's all this growth just on two stems so what I love the way it looks oh it's gonna leave it for now but yeah all the different types of Stingo Neum the illusion singer is a mini illusion series more of a mounding singhania man Arrowhead vine but over time it will it will but that some people use growth retardant to make them smaller and more compact and bashir but I like when they start doing this stuff because then they develop into their own personalities peace lilies spathiphyllum I find are pretty quick growers this one is called platinum mist I love the beautiful silvery foliage is super super gorgeous and it even like a flower that's coming out I really like the foliage more than the flowers but it's always a pleasant surprise to have a flower come out so these do you know they grow pretty quickly this could double in size by next year and they don't get super tall well some of them do or they get wide so the more you transplant it kind of the bigger it's gonna get so it's kind of up to you if you want to keep your PIN you want to keep your plants smaller don't pop them up don't up pop them don't go up a pot size too quickly because then you just can continue to do it until you have a giant plant maybe you want that I don't know but anyway spathiphyllum peace lilies are on the fast growing list of plants spider plants can grow very quickly I noticed a lot most of the growth on this one or the babies there's a lot of babies there's a handful of spider babies here yeah I'm just gonna leave I like the way it looks I haven't I have too many spider plants so I don't need to start propagating them okay maybe I'll do one I'll give in I'll do one but they grow pretty quickly and you know you can make a lot of divisions and babies and spread the spider plant love because that's kind of what they're known for right one spider plant one origin one mother plant has supplied many many people with many more mother plants so if you like to share plants and you like faster growing plants consider this spider plant this is called Bonnie right hi Leah pepero moieties is a fast grower I find that once plants established their root system then they start taking off then they start really producing a lot of foliar growth so Pylea pepper moieties you know it's kind of like the spider plant you could give so many away because they just continue to make offshoots this particular one is growing out of the drainage holes of this pot so I just I just hung it up because I don't want to remove that so this plant might start declining because there's a lot of roots there's a lot of roots in the soil leaving its root bound but I'm gonna have the heart I don't have the heart yet so I'm just gonna let this be I love this I absolutely love this plant this particular plant I know they were super trendy for a while but there's a reason because they get to have such interesting shapes and each one is incredibly unique so I find that they're pretty fast growing once their roots have established well I'll put that down you running around a lot this morning so there's a lot of roots coming out of the bottom of this hole I took this glass light dome thing and made it into a planter and there's my rant I like Seth so this has been growing pretty quickly not the fastest but it's pretty fast when it's happy I'll let the soil dry out between or ordering I beat it I give it medium light you know what I think it liked this glass container because it keeps the soil moist for a little bit longer so I don't have to water it that much but see those roots coming out you're so cute anyway I would let this probably live in here for the rest of the summer and then I don't know what I'm gonna do anyway so it's a semi fast-growing Marant ax and also the red Moran toes I'll go get one okay I'm back again so this is a cutting that I took that is really growing quite quickly could all this new growth look at that beautiful flower coming flower look at that beautiful leaf coming out they do flower I just these aren't look fast fast ish not the fastest but fast ish I'm gonna push you back your I like the shape of this a lot look how its kind of one-sided but you get to appreciate the foliage because it's just facing forward I like that it's a good plant to take a picture of out of all of the Sunni CIO's I think that the string of bananas grows really fast and all hold on I'll get it and also the Fish Hooks these two to me grow the quickest definitely faster than the string of pearls but the string of pearls grows pretty quick too I just have more luck with speed of growth with the bananas and the fish hooks that are heavy and gorgeous ficus elastica actually grows quick this is a cutting Oh was it cutting and now it's actually a plant and it's doubled in size and it's only I think been propagated for like nine months to me that's fast in the world of planets so this is a pretty fast grow as well as the ficus Narada I have one that's literally doubled in size since last winter when I propagated it what did I do oh I think I cut it I don't remember what I did but it's grown and it's tall and it's kind of like E and I kind of like it but so the ficus actually are quite fast-growing house plants don't know if I missed anything I know that there are other plants that grow fast that I missed but I just did a little tour of the plants that are growing fast for me for me and I wanted to show them to you and if I missed anything please put them in the comments and just give us your experience with fast growing plants I know there's like bamboo I just don't have and I know there's like certain hylia's I just don't have that right now and anyway so just please leave them in the comments and I really appreciate you guys subscribing I really appreciate you continuing to watch these videos and just being there constantly and being such amazing people thank you so much have a great weekend and I'll talk to you guys soon okay take care thank you
