welcome to corporals corner today we're going to make an improvised poachers camp so stick around alright summer's over leaves are all starting to change around here have fallen off the trees look at that beautiful day high as 70 low 40 I thought why not take the beard out and do an overnighter it's been about five months since I came out here this tree right here and that one over there he's the spot where I hang my hammock at I thought why not be different today about 17 months ago I did a video on an emergency raised bed so thought today Steph using a hammock why not revisit that technology put it improvised raised bed out here fire in front of it that lakefront view do some fishing and have a hell of it overnight er let's get to it making that improvised raised bed is very simple I'm going to create two tripods for my tripods I want poles about four foot in length and we're from two or three inch diameter and I want to horizontal poles roughly eight to ten feet in length good to go [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] unless not least all my dues and my walk in the woods cut a ridgepole place there the top of my tripods and then hang my tarp [Applause] okay before somebody loses their mind check this out those trash bags are actually a 55-gallon drum liners there are six mil in thickness this is how the bed works those poles slide down the tripod they can only slide down so far because the width of the bag will actually lock it in place now I keep the thing from flipping over on you or your bed from turning on your middle night what you can do is you can go ahead and lash the pole down to the tripod using this simple square knot oh yeah smoothing it baby can lay her on my back turn to my side in the old Burt Reynolds but the important thing is I'm off the ground let's go ahead talk about that tarp really quick now I can leave it in an a-frame configuration on both sides in case it rains and try and conserve body heat or I grab two poles prop that front up put a fire out in front of me and take advantage of that convective Heat rolling around my body and underneath that tarp okay now the bane of my existence firewood firewood firewood the bed's complete better walk through here and find what I refer to as smalls pencil ed pencil finger and thumb sized sticks establish that coal bed nice glowing hot coal bed you got in that Lake do some fishing come back cook those bad boys up [Music] fish on baby oh yeah that's a keeper right there check that out oh yeah all right so I caught two fish once about the size of my fist you know it was about three-quarters that I'm gonna go ahead I'm gonna cook these things up like trout I'm very basic got some aluminum foil salt pepper some salted butter gut it place the butter inside salt and pepper the outside fold the foil over it and place it on top of a grill 20 minutes outstanding okay so I bought myself some time I have a good 20 to 25 minutes cook time on that fish meanwhile I'm gonna go out there in the woods collect firewood I want enough for at least a night so I can hang out listen to the night sounds watch the fire and enjoy life [Laughter] oh yeah oh yeah skin this falls right off no that smell that salted butter oh man it's not trout but it wants to be this is it right here this is how life's close the beam we always come out here and have like these beep conversations I don't really have anything tonight I'm trying to think we can talk about goals how about that are you achieving your goals short-term long-term 20-year plan retirement things like that last time we talked about happiness and we talked about that basically you have to make yourself happy before you can make others happy and I agree with that [Music] so let's talk about goals I'll cite the late great rich Piana are you doing whatever it takes to achieve your goals think about that does it mean something illegal I go rob a bank well now I can achieve my goals cuz I'm a millionaire zero s no legally physically mentally morally spiritually are you doing whatever you can do within means within your being within your abilities to achieve your goals if you're not why not so I'll use that and we'll talk about a podcast that a buddy of mine sent to me was more than a buddy's like a brother with Joe Rogan and Gary Vee I don't know who Joe Rogan is or gravy Google them outstanding net a good to our three hour podcast at the end last two minutes he says let's wrap this up what should people do Gary these like first off people should start find you out with the are stop complaining stop giving excuses and it went on to basically talk about how people I don't want to say they give excuses but they're willing to accept excuses and they listen to people tell them that they can't do something it can't be something and what happens is people believe that and the downside is most the time your family friends co-workers husband wife they're miserable or they have no talents or they can't do what you want to do or they're afraid that you're going to do something to where it takes you out of the house so they kind of sabotage you and do whatever they can to make you believe that you can't do it so you'll be just as miserable as them does that make sense so Gary Vee talks about let's look at this from a different perspective screw listening to those people forget trying to fix yourself now I don't mean people who are on death row or in prison for life or trying to get rehabilitated talking about self wasting time money therapy on trying to fix things that you're not that you're never gonna be why not triple down on or go after the things that you want to be the things that make you happy the things that you're good at so Gary B goes on to say that if you're good at something that you like or that you love you should become tunnel vision you become that nothing else matters so this goes back to are you doing whatever it takes to achieve your goals and if the answer is no why not and I really believe that though my heart that if you're good at what you like forget the money forget the power or get the fame forget that job promotion forget working 80 to 100 hours a week do what you like do what you love and the money and everything else will come with in time hope this makes sense I want just you know aimlessly ramble here but I'm doing a lot of thinking about that lately and the sad part is if those people are a stumbling block or they're in your way and they're trying to sabotage you tell you that you're living a pipe dream it's never gonna happen it sucks to say it but you may have to cut them off whether its family husband wife kids that sounds you know cold AF but for you to be happy for you to make others happy for you to accomplish your dreams accomplish goals make a difference help people do those things you have to make drastic life changes and I really believe that do you [Music] that's it for me I'm gonna lay here and enjoy my fire enjoy nature Manas things comfortable say what Copper Bowl [Music] welcome back this poachers camp was outstanding and it's simple to make two tripods make a raised bed throw on a long fire and you're good to go now as usual all the gear in this video can be found my Amazon influencer page I'll toss that link inside the
