you will have pain in childbearing God holes muffins in this rumor explanation I said God all's mothers in this room an explanation because he is sad your pain would be in childbearing he never said you would have pain from child-rearing god I can't hear nobody yet and the pain that you gotta go through trying to raise a child in a racist society that wants to see them dead and arrested and in special education and in the prison Piper I don't know that you [Music] Genesis chapter 3 if you have Genesis chapter 3 would you shout I'm ready verse number 16 to the woman he said I will make you a pain in childbearing very severe with painful labor you'll give birth to children your desire will be for your husband and he'll rule over you now for your neighbor I want them they should be at first Chronicles four you don't have a neighbor and then you your neighbor y'all a share in one Bible first chronicles chapter 4 verse number 10 Jesus cried out to the God of Israel oh that you would bless me and enlarge my territory let your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I'll be free from pain and God granted his requests I want everybody in the room would you declare out loud today God is gonna grant my requests you may be seated to the woman he said I'll make your pains in childbearing very severe with painful labor you'll give birth to children your desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you a supplementary text his first chronicles 4 verse 10 jay-bez cried out to the God of Israel oh that you would bless me and enlarge my territory let your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain I want to make some statements before I give you my subject my mother is with us on the day and originally I invited her to preach on the day and she wasn't gonna be here things changed and I called her this morning on my way to church thinking she's on her way the way ever she's supposed to go minister and called Estella happy Mother's Day how grateful I am for she said great I'll see you in church I said oh great I said what service you coming - she said it 11:30 I'm like no not this service come come to 7:30 come to 9:30 you don't want to be in this service but she's she's here so had I known that I wouldn't be preaching this sermons now that I have that out the way I want to preach for a little while today using as a subject my mother is a pain [Music] [Applause] I didn't know she was gonna be here huh y'all don't know how much I'm sweating under just soot right now my mother's a pain my dear friends the maternity ward of the earth has a scrapbook of memorabilia known as the book of Genesis and the first two pages we get to tour the nursery room affectionately known as the Garden of Eden wallpaper is replaced by mother nature and instead of toys they're dinosaurs waterfalls and rainbows in enough splendor to put Disney world to shame and finally there are two occupants that we've come to recognize as Adam and Eve it's not soon thereafter that they encounter a conniving snake on their first week of Kingdom kindergarten they break the house rules and then have to deal with the consequence in the punishment the Lord as it turns out is a heavy disciplinarian and holds everybody accountable for partaking in forbidden fruit he starts with the reptile who eternally curses to crawl he has to crawl and then eat dust and tells them to his head to his face that soon your head will be crushed you have to work hard for everything that's what he tells the snake he then pivots to the man atom and scolds him and tells him the ground will be cursed and he liked that snake is gonna have to work for everything and alas in verse number 16 of Genesis chapter 3 he finally addresses the woman and he said matter-of-factly as you heard in our scripture reading today he says I will make your pains in childbearing very severe and ain't gonna be light very severe hear this and you'll be a painful labor just to give birth in one verse REM see he talks about man Cocola pain twice and I know you don't see it if you're coming I gotta show this to you ain't gon believe it you ain't gonna believe it he never empowerment speaks pain over the Serpent and he's the one that made him fall it's gonna blow your mind you ain't gonna believe it he never even speaks pain over Adam and heat a pastor he got the spiritual responsibility the only one that got paid is e9 even talking to you I'm talking to somebody three rolls over sometimes it feels like you don't only one in pain yeah people around you who are crawling people around you who are struggling but it don't look like you to you that neither of them are hurting and yet I'm the one that's in pain cuz it if you came the fact that God says to Eve from now on you will have pain in childbirth REM breckenridge this would make sense to me had Eve ever had kids before she had never had kids before so how does she know how to gauge this pain to how would it have felt has she not eaten at Apple so God has inflicted her with the pain I need y'all to stay with me empowerment and she got nothing to compare it to I'm gonna say to somebody it's a frustrating thing when you have to normalize pain [Applause] [Music] because everything that you go through becomes painful you begin to think this is how it's supposed to be or how it's always gonna be because your entire existence has been in pain I came to tell just 20 of you and after I give you this word pack up your stuff you can leave I'm gonna just say the 20 of you it ain't supposed to hurt like this whatever it is that you dealing with whatever it is you wrestling with whatever you contending with it ain't supposed to be this much pain it ain't supposed to feel like this and I'm saved [Music] Saint don't even feel this kind of pain and I'm in covenant I'm in relationship I'm born again I worship Him but can I tell you something I love God I'm trying to tie the act of like this ain't painful for me but I'm talking to somebody who knows every time every time every time I turn around that's pain not true not true not true he didn't say Eve you always just don't have pain he said I hope to one day y'all to get it you will have pain yes for the 20 of you when you are saying something oh god I can't hear nobody so those of you that are going through pain right now you ain't regular because the people who a feeling nothing going to live for nothing but those of you that are going to pay you you are getting ready to deliver what you carry but the human body the human body can only bear 45 units of pain that's all that the human body can handle is 45 units of pain but a mother going through birth absent of anesthesia goes through 57 units of pain so the pain you were going through watch this is not natural for the body to deal with and with that much pain help me Holy Ghost you are the from the pain hallelujah I'm talking to somebody in this room you got so much pain in you you don't even know how you function and how you reven how'd you survive and you got people around you complaining about nonsense and if they had any idea how much pain you went under they wouldn't be worried about what you got off I don't care if you like my hair a mother's tolerance for pain Russ's is a gift of the supernatural you didn't hear what I just say it I said for you to be able to endure that much pain and it not break you yes a big God I'm talking to somebody in this room I'm dealing with no migraine or you stubbed your toe life-shattering pain say you don't even know what to do to get rid of it and you've had to adjust to the pain and folk don't even know because you've been in pain soul at all you don't cry you don't complain you don't look distressed but it don't mean that our I figured out how to live with the pain [Applause] it's killing me but it didn't kill me the penalty sentence and verse 16 says you will have pain I need you to hear me I'm talking to mothers this morning you will have pain in um childbearing I'm in Genesis chapter 3 verse number 16 do y'all see that he said you will have pain in childbearing help me and God alls mothers in this rumor explanation I said God alls mothers in this room explanation because he said your pain will be in childbearing you never said you would have pain from sound railway oh god I can't hear nobody yet and the pain that you gotta go through channel raise a child in a racist society that wants to see them daven arrested and in special education and in the prison don't know that kind of pain it ain't even it's not an incident this pain is your existence it's not it's not an incident every mother in the room keeps getting hurt even with a perfect child you remember the pain at two don't even want to hold your hand on more come on come with me mm-hmm trying to figure out where they learn that from and three that favorite word is no at nine you get thrown off you pick them up from elementary school and they tell you they got a best friend and your mind you thought you was it figure out that somebody else then came in and stole your child a best friend at 12 rebellion sits in at 50 you start wrestling with your own identity Lord I only got three more years left what I'm gonna do with the next chapter of my life the next phase in my life at 18 you come in a grip with your child's independence then now they make your advice and option God y'all ain't saying nothing to me about 23 watch this you act like what's this they may never see you again and they go with it I heard from you this week y'all he said nothing to me huh my twins just turned 12 last Monday and I got to my iPhone and I said listen you only think responsibility y'all got to do is make time you make sure you FaceTime me I bought this phone it's in my name you want my line ain't you call me every day faithfully looking right there at me hey angel I said where's the door oh she's sitting right next to me yes control my shame called me yet don't say tell him i'ma call them later I said is she on my phone some people don't know what it means for you to be hurt by your own child you don't even know the pain that your mother has watch this cuz of your broken heart how much pain they got cuz things aren't working out for you you don't know the pain they have watch this because they see that you are not operating at your greatest potential how Luo Yin is hard for you to believe that for a mother their greatest source of pain is not their budget is not their job is not their car they are in pain because of the state of their child [Applause] Sarah s of the Lord when hearing about potential pregnancy she asked can I still experience pleasure I want to say this just some to the mothers who are in the room but you lift up that hand I am I want to say something to you that I heard God say to me you're still gonna experience pleasure the rest of your life ain't gonna be hard a all of your days are not gonna be wrapped in weary and stress he's gonna give you peace that you ain't had in years he's getting ready to gift for some mother I don't know where you are a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment God finally for every mother whose hand is lifted is gonna give you a season for you to step back and say I did everything I was supposed to do God I now give them back to you because this battle is not mine pull those hands down in Psychological circles I want you to write this down I'm getting to the Nexus of my message in Psychological circles there's a term I want you to have it I want you to write it down please i want you to google it research it after service is over here is the term pain transference syndrome would you write that down please pain transference syndrome what does that breathe that happens when a past trauma such as abuse becomes ingrained in the memory because it hadn't been dealt with it shifts to different emotions that mirror post-traumatic stress so because I'm in pain and I never dealt with why I'm in pain it turns into rage because I don't deal with my pain it evolves into sadness because I have unaddressed pain it looks like the absence of trust because I don't recognize the pain I don't know is really abandonment where clinicians can't seem to conclude is um while you're here today they can't understand the bishop Brian fear anything they don't understand how it is their children end up getting their mother's pain some of you are in this room and you got rage you got depression you got trust issues you feel abandonment and you don't even know it ain't yours you feel how your mother did and because she never addressed it it got transferred so you're living through the trauma of something you never experienced so you don't even understand why you respond and react to certain things that you have watched this know testimony about but it becomes a knee-jerk reaction simply because you've inherited Mama's pain now I'm in first Chronicles look in first chronicles chapter 4 verse number 10 we find exhibit a and what has become a popularized prayer uttered by a young man named J bears the Bible says y'all not gonna believe it the Bible says his mother gave him the name jay-bez while Jamal she called him jay-bez rhe first Chronicles when you get home because she birthed him in pain so his name preachers jay-bez means birthed in pain I gotta ask you a question can you imagine everybody knowing you for the pain you brought your mother can you imagine that that's how you are identified as the one that brought your mother pain and he's got a wear that badge knowing here this that that's what his mother thinks of him his mother every time she's a Jay bass did this the one about to bring me pain if I ever see the report card forever meet the girl forever hear about the interview before we ever get into court day Jay bass are you about to bring me pain what you want now what you done got me into I'm sick of fooling behind you running after you Jay bass come on just bring me the pain how many people understanding my voice their mother made them feel like they were pain look at what you did to my body I didn't look like this before I heard you oh god y'all ain't saying huh I'm not talking to nobody any other day do you know what I could've did what I could have become where I could have where I was living high on the hog till you showed up how many people in this room got resented by their mother because their only problem is they look like they're dead because they she can't ever say nothing to him she takes it out on you Oh y'all are like real stuff in here I'm talking to those of you you expended so much energy trying to please that mama trying to make her smile China let's do something that will make her feel like you've accomplished and no matter what you did she would just pick holes in it and make it look like it wasn't nothing and always give a critique but never give you any praise and you said what I have to do for you to see I'm trying to make you happy his mother called him a pain and you were painting to me the thing I love about J bears is even though he got to live with his mother's pain only 15 y'all would be able to identify with this in spite of having to live with his mother's pain he had to figure out how to pray his mother didn't teach him that y'all ain't saying nothing so he didn't know other than flowery words that them church people say if one know now they've me down to sleep she had to pray with real power had to say God I'm dealing with real pain and some of the pain that I'm dealing with ain't man I inherited this and I can't talk to my mama about it I can't talk to my family about it and I don't want it to look like a boring shade on my mama so if I can talk to anybody I need to talk to God because God don't see me as he sees me as potential he becomes they execute an exercise when many of us have had to learn to do you had to learn how to pray while you were in pain he said in the prayer this wood jay-bez said in a prayer in spite of his pain I want you to heal what he prayed I love it and make me jump out of my own skin he said something and I hope you all get it 11:30 I've really had you in mind when I when God gave me this word he says in his pain y'all know what he said he said bless me he doesn't say give me a Bentley he didn't say give me a Mercedes he says bless me in other words I'm in so much pain I did not tell you how to bless me but I need you to give me something so I can deal with this pain I can't hear nobody in here I'm not gonna dictate the blessing all I know is I need the blessing to be greater than the pain so that when I see the blessing I'll forget about my pain he was saying anyway you bless me Lord I'll be satisfied just so bless me so that my pain does not become so that my pain does not become my reality this be in spite of the pain and then he says something empowerment that I want you to know watch what Jay Baer says he saying I need y'all to get it enlarge my territory you may have Church in just a minute he says enlarge my territory but notices he said bless me first did y'all hear that he said bless me and then he said enlarge my territory this is what I need you to do would you just stretch your hands as far as you can I know it's going into other people's space but I need somebody to just shout out loud enlarge my territory it's gonna make sense it's gonna make sense in just one moment Plus this is gonna make sense in just one moment because when it is that you do projective criticism on the text and you look at what's this the tense of the verb that's used by Jay bears it then gives you an exclamation point and a lightning bolt about what he's saying pastor I'm lost come on help me now all right here it is when he said this me what's this he uses the future tense when he says bless me he uses the future tense all right I got that pester all right stay with me when he says he rushes he's speaking in the present tense all right y'all y'all is slow let me see if I can help you when he said some out the future tense but when he says largely he's speaking in the present it's alright some of y'all are waking up others of you you lost let me give it to you again with J peasants me he won sayin now give a saying in the future bless me but what's this when he said keep us saying I need you to do it in the present yes I need you to pull that thing together for me all right here nears he said I needed to enlarge me for future blessings because the size of what I am in right now will not halt was getting ready to car and summer y'all ought to be shouting why because what's coming into your life is gonna be so much bigger then what you got right now he's gotta short territory hi I need space for what's given Betty to come into my life y'all please forgive me the same for everybody god I don't mean to be uppity but this ain't my size I need you to make room for what I'm getting ready to walk into I need you to knock down walls so what you got in mind for me right now I need it for my future I mean that lambda this week I was in Atlanta this week handling some business the people who are going to meet with said a pastor we won't take you to a place for our meeting I said where we going says a place in Atlanta called the gathering spot Savannah I never heard of he said I said it's a place for creatives as a place for entrepreneurs it's for people who are developing upstarts it's the gathering spot and I said what is it said I don't worry about it we'll show you when you get there I know we get to the gathering spot in order for you to even get in the parking lot you had to show ID lowered I said this is black owned I said yeah this is black hole you got to show ID just to get on the parking lot and say yeah you got to show ID cuz everybody can't get in here the only people that can get in here people who are creators are people who are working on something people that got a vision people who are casting ideas people who can't be in cubicles this is a gathering spot we should look down the row until in this row paint for everybody this rope is for creative people this this row is for folk that got dangerous ideas and radical dream Center sake outside of the box this is the gathering place for us walk in this place called together Mountain Atlanta I'm blown away you got a show ID I got a sign in as a guest cuz I'm not a member I'm just a guest of the gathering spot I sign in ID Rush's they say you got to keep room where people are doing meeting spaces you're going another one Russ's they got an upscale restaurant where they're served and fried lobster Y always singing nothing to me let's haul up that will in fact hold 300 people I said Lord this is amazing I never seen nothing like this I said bro you gotta introduce me to the owner he said oh the owner said no but I said no I said the owner of the whole thing you say yeah he's sitting right there I said no not that kid I need the owner of the whole thing say yeah no that's the owner he's 29 years old y'all ain't saying nothing just graduated from Howard University with a degree in business I said man what made you come up with this idea he said pastor I just knew I had to create a space for people that wanted to do something that other folks ain't ready for and I came to tell 500 of you right now while you shouted God is creating a space so what you all worked it off so what you trying to develop for what you trying to cultivate I need space to work for myself god I can't you know my I need space so that I can finish this book nice space so I can complete my dissertation nice space so I can figure out the next chapter of my life bless me be seated please listen bless me and he says something very telling watch what he says something that seems out of sorts in neo-pentecostal vernacular he says bless me horses so long so I don't hurt other people [Applause] [Music] I'm gonna give you the translation Hussein bless me to be the kind of man that doesn't inflict pain on my mother god help me in here I don't want to do people how she was done I know y'all don't pray them kind of prayers huh I want to live at such a high ground hallelujah that people who are like my mother will not be abused by people in power and in position and prestige because I saw how we damaged my mother and I don't want to see nobody else live with that kind of pain God's Way but don't bless me if I'm a hurt people in the process God did it everything he prayed for God did it would you take that neighborhood by the hand I'm finished I'm done I'm through but I want to say just one other thing to you you can remain seated I am and God did it everything that boy prayed for God did it I don't know how many of you are operated this level of oxygen but that's the kind of faith I want God whatever my children pray for I want God to do it [Music] now granted this is an inordinate sermon I need somebody's hand in your hand it's unconventional to say the absolute least but I believe it's timely for some people who are in this room and God did it I'm thankful for your time I've run out of mine but I want to show you one small nuance in the text that is glaring for me and here it is God did it he enlarged his territory he blessed him indeed he kept his hand on him watch this he made him free of pain [Music] I'm gonna give this last message and then I'm finished here's what I noted friends is up he did all of that Bishop Bryant and never changed jay-bez name [Music] I want you ever so gently to squeeze their neighbors and admitted them immediately I'm gonna confess that this message is not for all of you for that I apologize I'll attempt to be more all-encompassing on next Sunday but this is for a few specific people cuz it for me to tell you he heard your prayer he's recognized your struggle because told me to say this just about 20 of you and when I speak it I'm telling you the green light is gonna go off in your spirit you'll know I'm talking to you does it contingent on how you worship how you pray I am now using you to take off your mother's pain [Music] [Applause] whatever pain she may have with us in her body you always saying nothing whether it's in her mind with us in her spirit gossiped if I die it's all your plan allow me to take pain off for your mother your mother been grieving for 20 years been going through for 30 years yelling saying nothing to me your mother has mastered suffering in silence but if you give me Chloe I'm taking the pain off for her cuz I'm gonna bless her written these and I want your mother to live a pain-free life and for those of you who will receive it the last 18 months of your life weren't even about you the last 18 months of your life God was transferring the plan god I feel healing in this place I said the last 18 months God been taking the pain offer your mother and you had to live through it for both of you but God said you have finished that - you you have come to the trial the pain is coming to an end I [Applause] [Music] speak peace even now [Music] I want your mother to be able to live with no pain and both of you who have had to agonize watching your mother live through pain would you do me a favor please I'm telling you pain is coming off of her pain is coming off of your mom right now not just physical psychological emotional spiritual path is coming off of your mother right now god I can't hear nobody if this any mother's in the room they've been living through some pain I I'm telling you the more you praise them the better you'll feel these you went through that pain for you and your child no nobody said the road was gonna be easy but I don't believe he's brought you this far leave you now I want to pray for you please I hope you'll let me do that you can lose that neighbors Hannah [Music]
