begins tomorrow but it's a good time to maybe meditate on the apostles and what jesus asked him to do and you know to give up everything um and you know and that's what we must do um because he said you know you follow me you give up everything you follow me and they gave up everything yeah peter had a wife and kids he had to go in business with you know selling fish catching fish he had a mates with his friends and he gave it all up to follow christ matthew made a lot of money he's a rich guy probably cheated a lot of people too but he gave it all up for christ that's what we have to do we still have our families we know we take care of them but we have to follow christ what did christ want from us he wants us to be holy so when we think you're really doing something that we think about the apostles and the other saints that i mean they left everything would you leave your husband would you leave your wife to follow christ oh i can't do that they did you see and christ is not asking you but he asked them and he did it but during through the centuries a lot of people were asked that and they did it husband would go to be a priest the woman would go into a convent they did it mutually you look at the let's just say to you how many husband and wife saints we have they did exactly that most of them raised their families then they left we even have a couple kings that did that and so we have to come to see you know you could always there's always more to give to christ always a little more you never you're satisfied what would you give him always say gee what more can i give him because he gave us everything he gave us eternal life our response is lord hear our prayer for all church leaders may the example of jesus inspire them in humble service of love for god's people let us pray to the lord for an end to violence in ukraine may god's peace and a spirit of reconciliation prevail let us pray to the lord for those persecuted for their faith may the holy spirit father almighty and eternal god for you so loved the world and in your mercy you sent us your redeemer to live like us in all things but sin so that you might love in us what you loved in your son by whose obedience you have been restored to these gifts of yours that by sinning we had lost in disobedience and so with so lord with all the angels and saints we too give you thanks as insultation we acclaim holy you are indeed holy o lord a form of all holiness the fount of all holiness make holy therefore these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall so that there we become for us the body and blood of our lord jesus christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion he took bread and giving thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you in need of it for this is my body which will be given up for you there's somewhere away when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the christ we may be gathered into one by the holy spirit remember lord your church spread throughout the world and bring it to the fullness of charity together with francis our pope david our bishop and all the clergy remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy welcome them into the light of your face have mercy on us all we pray that with the blessed virgin mary mother of god but blessed joseph our spouse for the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life and may praise and glorify you through your son jesus christ for it is through him and with him and in him oh god almighty father in the unity of the holy spirit all glory and
