our sins i confess to almighty god and you my brothers and sisters that i have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words in what i have done and in what i have failed to do through my fault through my fault through my most grievous fault therefore i act blessed mary ever virgin all the angels and saints and you my brothers and sisters we pray for me to the lord may almighty god have we bless you we adore you we glory for you we give you thanks thanks for your great glory lord god heavenly king o god almighty father lord jesus christ only begotten son lord god lamb of god son of the father you take away the sins of the world have mercy on us you take away the sins of the world receive our prayers you are seated at the right hand of the father have mercy on us have mercy [Music] jesus christ with the holy spirit in the glory of god the father of god the father gloria gloria glory to god in the highest and on earth peace to people to people of good amen [Music] let us pray grant us o lord we pray that the course of our world may be directed by your peaceful rule and that your church may rejoice and troubled in her devotion through our lord jesus christ your son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the holy spirit god forever and ever a reading from the book of siroc when a sieve is shaken the husks appear so do one's faults when one speaks as the test of what the potter molds is in the furnace so in tribulation is the test of the just the fruit of a tree shows the care it has had so too does one's speech disclose the bent of one's mind praise no one before he speaks for it is then that people are tested the word of the lord um [Music] it is good to give thanks to you [Music] lord it is good to give thanks to you it is good to give thanks to the lord to sing praise to your name most heart to proclaim your kindness at dawn and your faithfulness throughout the night lord it is good to give thanks to you the just one shall flourish like the palm tree like a cedar of lebanon shall he grow they that are planted in the house of the lord shall flourish in the courts of our god lord it is good to give thanks to you they shall bear fruit even in old age vigorous and sturdy shall they be declaring how justice the lord my rock in whom there is no wrong lord it is good to give thanks to you [Music] her reading from the letter of saint paul to the corinthians brothers and sisters when this witch is corruptable close itself with incorruptibility and this which is mortal clothes itself with immortality then the word that is written shall come about death is swallowed up in victory where o death is your victory where o death is your sting the death the sting of death is sin and the power of sin is the law but thanks be to god who gives us the victory through our lord jesus christ therefore my beloved brothers and sisters be firm steadfast always fully devoted to the work of the lord knowing that in the lord your labor is not in vain the word of the lord uh [Music] shine like lights like lighting as you hold on to the word of god [Music] oh the lord be with you a reading from the holy gospel according to luke jesus told his disciples a parable can a blind man guide a blind person will not both fall into a pit no disciple is superior to the teacher but when fully trained every disciple will be like his teacher why do you notice a splinter in your brother's eye but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own how can you say to your brother brother let me remove that splinter in your eye when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your own eye you hypocrite remove the wooden beam from your eye first then you will see clearly to remove the splinter in your brother's eye a good tree does not bear rotten fruit nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit for every tree is known by its own fruit for people do not pick figs from thorn bushes nor do they gather grapes from brambles a good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks the gospel of the lord good morning i thank the lord for bringing all of us here today to have an opportunity to worship together our lord and our god the one who created this beautiful world and gave us an opportunity to live in it and even as we celebrate the eucharist and share the word of god today even as we enjoy peace at this moment we remember that there are others in the world in this beautiful world that god has created who are not having peace or suffering suffering [Music] because because of us human beings maybe not because of you not because of me but because of us human beings because of who we are and what we are when i think about what jesus says in that gospel reading that it is from the store of our hearts that actions flow so who we are shows up in the kind of produce that we give a bad tree will do what produce what rotten fruits in the world today today as in today we are all perceiving the stench of rotten fruit true yes the world today we are perceiving the stench of rotten fruits and we ask ourselves where did this come from how did this come about but this is what we live with every day no matter how much we try to cover it when it explodes we all will endure this thing we need human beings christians we need to let the word of god sown in us to breathe to be alive to impact us so that we can contribute to making the world enjoy peace a better place when we think about you and i the church christianity and religion followers of jesus the jesus movement we think about what contribution we can make to making the world a better place let someone not ask me for the jerome are we here to talk about peace in the world or about this world we have to think about the world after here yes but also about the world here because if we do not prepare ourselves very well how can we even enjoy the world after here it is what you and i do here that is also important giving us credentials to be able to enjoy the world after here so the way we relate with one another the way we relate with the world matters as children of god people who are baptized god has made us a renewed creation and we become like jesus christ children of god and we are invited always to remember those ingredients of life that can help us to be who god wants us to be because again we must not forget that the world is bad that the world is crazy the world i don't know what we think about the world whether we are thinking about the trees or out there the world is you and i correct because it is what we make it is your behavior and my behavior my attitude your attitude your perspective my perspective that makes the world crazy it's human beings again the question is where is this coming from why are we in this situation may the lord jesus continue to help us to be good people so taking from the gospel reading um i would like us to remember we read from the gospel according to luke chapter 16. we have actually been reading from chapter 16 of luke's gospel last sunday especially will listen to jesus instructing us and reminding us about how to relate with one another two aspects of what he told us do not judge do not condem that is on one side on the other side he says give share and he says forgive reconciliation love in the context of what is happening today if we shift to ukraine where is love where is sharing where is forgiveness these are important for peace where is truth and where is justice christian principles some foundations jesus's teachings very important no matter how much we want to shift religion out of the society because that is what this world today is good at let's keep religion very far away your religion our religion the teachings of jesus what god gives us as a guide is important for us to have peace this is who we are if we continue to neglect what jesus gives to us bad fruits we continue to multiply and the world will continue to to be in crisis the question is when the other person does not want to engage when the other person does not think like you are thinking what are you going to do and it looks like you are not going to let a mad person to just carry on with this madness you want to match the madness with madness right very difficult actually to think about negotiating with one who is not ready for negotiation but again when he says do not judge do not condemn to reconcile there is something jesus says in that gospel i mean of today and he says think about yourself you want to teach another person about how to live okay but first of all you got to first of all look at yourself what about me how do i relate with all the people in my own context what i am saying that i want to teach another person out there is there any way that i am practicing the same thing within my family within my own you know community jesus wants us to turn the focus the camera on ourselves and to be able to say oh i recognize that what i see in the macrocosm is even in my own small ways i am doing exactly the same thing here and so i am able to say oh oh i tell you i'm guilty i'm guilty and i am sorry i acknowledge it and so i want to improve myself and then when you are when i am able to recognize that i need to improve myself then i know that i have a struggle and then after admitting that i have this very struggle i see my sister or my brother who has the same struggle and said look i understand what is happening what are you going through because i go i am going through this something in a different way how can we make it how can we how can we help one another to be able to overcome this struggle but when [Music] i come to you like a messiah that i am not i come to you like a teacher that i am not i come to you like someone who is spotless that i am not it is going to be difficult so whether at the community level at social level of conflict of trying to reconcile at political level or at personal level interpersonal level there is need for acknowledgement of who i am and the fact that i am also struggling in my own way with this and i will be able to draw the other person very neatly into conversation with myself and together we work out how we can enjoy better relationship and peace in other words the meaning of do not condem pick up that plank from your eye before you remove you you try to point out the splinter in another person's eye will become very instructive and instrumental for having peace in our lives and in the world and preparing ourselves to continue on the journey to the kingdom in heaven by us making constructive criticisms charitable criticisms and in our personal relationships with our brothers and sisters any person who does not welcome constructive criticisms will not be able to see the side of himself or herself that he or she does not know about or that you are trying to avoid you will not be a good person a good christian will be ready to listen to the voice of the spirit that comes from even the weirdest direction may god bless us as we continue to struggle to be who god wants us to be and god the lord jesus is counting on you and i to make this world a beautiful place again for everyone to live and enjoy god bless us god bless you may jesus continue to reign in our hearts amen i believe in one god jesus christ the only begotten son of god born of the father before all ages god from god light from light true god from true god begotten not me consubstantial with the father through him all things are made he was right unconscious he suffered death and was buried and his kingdom will have no end father and the son who with the father and the son is adored and glorified who has spoken through the prophets i believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church i confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and i look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come amen brothers and sisters let us present our needs the needs of the church and the world to god our loving and merciful father please respond lord hear our prayer for pope francis and bishop zubik may they continue by god's grace to be strengthened by the good news of the gospel let us pray to the lord for the innocent people in ukraine and around the world harmed by violence or instability may god bless and console them let us pray to the lord for the community of faith gathered here may we groan compassion and love through the grace of the holy spirit and the example of jesus let us pray to the lord r lord hear our prayer for the intentions that each of us bring to mass today may those who have asked for our prayers be comforted by our compassion strengthened through our prayers and be restored to the fullness of life and health through the healing touch of god let us pray to the lord r lord hear our prayer for our beloved dead especially bridget b persianni and erica rich may they come to share in the fullness of christ's glory and enjoy his favor forever let us pray to the lord lord hear our prayer and for the intention of this mass elario spisioletti let us pray to the lord lord hear our prayer let us now invoke the intercession of our blessed mother and pray hell mary full of grace holy maryland [Music] deliver us o lord of truth from speech and back by deed from lords that by the faithless deny us for concrete for you have taught with weightless words are like the shifting sun one storm and flood come raging in they give no place to stand when we with bold familiar phrase confess that you are lord you ask for lies whose faithfulness supports our spoken word lord help us build on solid rock no floods [Music] with [Music] pray my dear brothers and sisters that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to god the almighty father the the praise and lord of his name for our good and good of all for god who provide gifts to be offered to your name and count our oblations as signs of our desire to serve you with devotion we ask of your mercy that what you grant us as the source of merit may also help us to attend mary's reward through christ our lord amen the lord be with you and with your spirit lift up your hearts we lift them up to the lord give thanks to the lord our god it is right and just it is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks lord holy father almighty and eternal god for you laid the foundations of the world and have arranged the changing of times and seasons you formed man in your own image and set humanity over the whole world in all this wonder to rule in your name over all you have made and forever praise you in your mighty works through christ oh lord amen so with all the angels we praise you as in joyful celebration we acclaim [Music] holy holy holy lord holy lord [Music] in the highest blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord [Music] i [Music] you're indeed holy oh lord the fount of all holiness make holy there for these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our lord jesus christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion jesus took bread and gave him thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be giving up for you in a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal covenant will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins do this in memory of me the mystery of faith [Music] we proclaim your death o lord and profess your resurrection until you come again until you come again therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection we offer you lord the bread of life and the chalice of salvation giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence to minister to you humbly we praise the partaking of the body and blood of christ may be gathered into one by the holy spirit remember lord your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity together with friends the pope david our bishop and all the clergy remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy welcome them into the light of your face have mercy on us all we pray that with the blessed virgin mary mother of god who blessed joseph our spouse with the blessed apostles and all the sins who have pleased you throughout the ages we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life may praise and glorify you through your son jesus christ through him and with him and in him o god almighty father in the unity of the holy spirit a glory and honor is yours forever amen amen [Music] amen [Music] at the savior's command informed by divine teaching we dare to say our father thy will be done on earth give us this day our daily bread and forgive us trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil deliver us lord we pray from every evil graciously grant peace in our days that by the help of your mercy may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our savior jesus christ for the kingdom the power and glory are yours now and forever lord jesus christ who said to your apostles peace i leave you my peace i give you look no on our sins but on the faith of your church and graciously grant her peace
