it's not the old Florida boy it is Tuesday which means it is canteen cup Tuesday today I got an interesting selection for you that I I've never made before and I don't know whether it's gonna be good or whether it's gonna suck I'm gonna try to approximate the mountain house freeze-dried beef stroganoff it's not going to be too hard to improve on the mountain house stuff cuz it ain't that great but I'm gonna use my idea I'm gonna show you my idea of it so I'm also running a public opinion poll and I can't wait to to hear all of y'all's comments on this video as well as the answer to my poll an answer to my question is should the beard stay or should it go leave a question like comment down in the comment section and tell me yes it should stay or yes it should go I know my wife's answer to it she don't like it she wants it to go I kind of like it it's all great but alright let's get into cooking okay here we go we're gonna do this on the of course we got her canteen cup over here we got our looks out of holding still over here and I got a couple hacks for the lick SATA folding so that I'm going to show you in another video but I want to show you a couple little cool little things that I got at the dollar store these are little dis little containers and this one has water in it so I got these two for a dollar at the dollar store and what's cool about them is all the way up to this mark right there is exactly one cup of water so these also fit these are nice and small these are like three three and a quarter inches wide and they fit in a lot of different packs and a lot of different applications and they fit perfectly in another hiking pack that I'm gonna do I'm going to show you in a later video so these are awesome little trail things too for a dollar at the dollar store so first thing is we got one cup of water because I I think then I'm going to need less than the two cups when I do the ramen to keep it a little bit thicker so I am gonna spark up the looks odd folding stove and get the water on and get that boiling and I will be back okay my air we are not boiling water first we are cooking some hamburger first this is about a third of a pound of hamburger meat sizzling on D stove oh yeah whoo okay a third of a pound is gonna be too much we're gonna cook it up using my little dollar store fork and knife without some junk on it that friction fit right together okay just gonna Brown this up quickly this recipe might not work I am just literally making this up on the fly so I'm gonna Brown this ground beef up and then I will show you the next step okay we got our ground beef going pretty well I had put my glove on these things are getting hot all right ground beef almost cook so what we're gonna do is we're gonna add one cup of water okay see if we can get that boiling not even gonna drain the piece just gonna jam the ramen in there see if we can get that up to boiling cook the ramen in the beef see if we mix it all together and then I'll show you what's next alright looks like we're gonna get to a boil here fairly shortly for our Romans Romans are starting to soften up oh yeah this could be good or it could be terrible I don't really know but the hamburgers in there too so it's taking it a little bit longer to boil with the hamburger in but it's starting to soften up pretty well starting to boil up so I'm gonna cook the ramen in there and kind of parboiling more of the hamburger in there with it and with hamburger grease and everything else so I'll show you what we got when we get down to almost finished all right it's cooking down pretty nice now that's not bad noodles are softening up I still got the ground beef in there I don't got a hell of a lot of water in there which is what I didn't want so we are definitely getting there oops we are definitely getting there this is gonna cook for a couple more minutes and then I'm gonna show you the other ingredients that we're gonna put it in and then we'll try it see if it it will kill me or cure me all right here we go we got our stuff cooked here and there we go all right you got our noodles and we got our beef you don't have too much water which is what I wanted because now we're gonna put the beef flavor packet in okay mix that up eat it as beefy as we can in the water now I got probably 2/3 of a cup of cream of mushroom soup in here in my nice little container so empty that in there put the cream of mushroom in there as much of it as we can in there all right now yummy now we're gonna mix we're gonna mix this it okay okay it's looking all right mixing up a little bit more of the sauce mix no bad I mean if anybody's ever eaten the mountain house then they kind of know what I'm talking about you know the mountain house ain't nothing to write home about so all right this is pretty it's just pretty mixed up we got a bunch of ground beef in there we got some primo onion soup I mean a cream of mushroom soup so we got some mushroom flavor in there we got the beef flavor a little beef broth and we got two ramen I don't know whether this would qualify as a stroganoff ramen bomb or not this maybe is stroganoff ramen bomb I may change the title of the video but all right let's see what we got I never tried this before so let's see it's hot I know that these little dollar store spoons are great all right well you know it's not bad to make it easy on trail that's for sure mmm that is pretty good and you know what this is the beef stroganoff ramen bomb I it is this is easily as good or better of the mountain as a mountain house top that's hot a couple little uh a couple little things I had to do a couple I got a couple little modifications and I'm going to show you it's still pretty hot out here a couple of modifications that I'm going to show you on the luxottica Lang stove because I found out when you know using alcohol through it and I never burn wood and all I use is alcohol through that sometimes that it warps the heat warps it and I figured out a little way to keep the sides from expanding out and actually dropping the stove to the bottom which what happened to me a couple of times also I got these nice little these nice little 1 cup containers that are awesome you're very small again I'm at the dollar store two for a dollar so go to the Dollar Tree see what you can get and stroganoff ramen bomb there we go let's try one more bit of this it's actually and it's and it's sticking it up pretty good with the cream of mushroom soup you know if I had a little salt and pepper this would be definitely better than the mountain house stuff so in answer to my my public opinion poll should the beard stay or should it go leave me a comment below let me know what you think and I'll do a video of me shaving off
