hello everyone in today's video I want to take a closer look at the multiplayer experience over on PS5 I'm making this video on request of go Rambo thank you for your comment and question about this so I figured I'd demonstrate here I want to mention that multiplayer for Baldur's Gate 3 on the PS5 requires PS plus as shown on their store Page firstly when starting the game you can start a multiplayer game from the menu you will see a number of open lobbies which you can join some of these are of players already playing and having their game open to the public you can see where they are located in the game and their level to give you an idea of their progress if you press L3 you can apply filters here also in case you only want to see friend sessions filter out full sessions and the level range of the main character if you want to create your own multiplayer game you can press triangle this will put you into a Lobby in which you can set up a few things before starting if you press the settings button you can adjust the game's difficulty the amount of slots so in case you want to only play with one other player online you can change this number to Two For example or if you want to play with two others you change it to three and so on and then very importantly the online visibility if you only want your friends being able to join you can set that here or By Invitation Only or if you want to have it close that works too in that case the game will behave like it's a single player campaign these settings can be changed at any time during the game so I decided to start the game here and to my surprise it took only a couple of minutes to have a full party the game has a built-in voice chat but that one did not work very well and it was hard to understand people so we quickly decided to make a party Within PlayStation itself it works much much better so I do recommend that so here everyone can make his own character or take a custom one at the start if they like to and then you start the game when everyone is ready in game everyone can freely walk around and do all the story content and side quest independent of the main character's presence and that's all over the map for this reason if you are the owner of the campaign and you have a specific idea in mind like in terms of good or evil or something it's good to discuss with your party beforehand because they could technically ruin that for you but sometimes it's just fun to embrace the chaos and see what happens of course when any party member initiates a conversation they have the final word in the decision making others can weigh in by pressing X on the dialog option you would pick and it would show your little Avatar behind it so they can see how many people voted for a certain reply you also have the option to make a dialogue private to your party if you want to scheme for example by pressing L1 the most notable change for me and multiplayer is the combat this is much faster since we could all take our turns together if we are adjacent in the turn order and basically share that turn as if it were one so we could all do things at the same time as you can see here in the footage I should not cost to move action or a like an action when in Camp you can decide to Long rest this works also with a ready system so everyone has to ready up and take the long rest as for inventory you can decide to lock or open your inventory to your party members depending if you have any teething Rogues in your party every member has their own cam chest for storing as well when I had to step out and do a few things and came back my party members had left the game but their characters were still there you can send them to Withers closet by moving up to them and talking to their characters and when they join your game again they can continue with the same character when they do they will adopt the main character's level you can for example make your session close to the public and basically continue like it's a normal single player campaign and open it up to online whenever you feel like it so how does it work when you are not the host then when joining one of the servers on the list you get to make a character custom or origin character if you join up past character creation you can only create your own character because it can't be one of the origin ones as you already know your level is adjusted to that of the main character and that campaign so even when not always playing together you share progress that way of course while adventuring together your party members might get more experience because of the inspiration system if they act in line with their backstory they gain inspiration though in this case it can happen you can level sooner than your party members in single player as well as an online play so if you're done playing on a server you're not hosting yourself your progress is part of the save game of the host so you cannot carry that character over to your own game you are then just a character in their closet or like a free hireling to them that they can still use in combat if they want to lastly I've also heard it's possible to do combo Co-op I have not tested this out myself but you can start split screen while in a multiplayer game as a last closing remark I personally really enjoyed the multiplayer for the couple of hours I played it I did see really great potential in this system I think it would be amazing to play together with friends playing with randoms can be really amazing for me personally I've met some really nice people in my experience but of course you can never you can never know and of course also while when they're not your friends it's sometimes may be hard to meet them at specific hours and that that could be difficult for the longevity of a playthrough so I think if you play multiplayer with people you know you have probably a better chance to actually you know doing this playthrough together I feel like that that there are some benefits there but you never know I mean I'm sure there's people who've done this with total strangers and maybe played all the way through the ending if if you have a story like that I would love to hear it I think that sounds really really fun I personally going to go back to my single player uh playthrough I'm currently in act 3. it's it's been really amazing so I'm curious how my story will will end I will hope you learned something out of this video and yeah thank you all so much for watching and I hope to see you all in the next video bye Old Time battle hi I'm always poor at performing [Music] amateur this one joins in this Goblin I've never noticed them doing that thank you [Music] totally it's awful it's oh did they throw a tomato threw something at you because you terrible
