Baldur's Gate 3 is now on Playstation 5. today I'm gonna answer some of the big questions PS5 players have about this game let's start with the biggest one are there cross saves yeah there are cross saves between different platforms that means if you've already played on PC all your progress will be transferred over to the PS5 you do need to have a larian account to do this make one if you don't already have one the easiest way is to just go on their website log into your layering account on the website go over to connected accounts make sure that the same layering account is connected to both your steam account as well as your PlayStation account you also have to make sure cross saves are activated in the game settings on both the PS5 and steam and you're good to go once you do that give your PS5 a minute or so to sync and then you should see the continue and load game buttons pop up I actually love this option because I can play on the goal using my steam deck and then pick up right where I left off at home on my PS5 I per personally have just been too busy to put time into this game but I'm hoping to play it more over the next few months if you do want to redeem your digital content you can also do that by logging into your delirian account next question does Baldur's Gate have cross play sadly no Baldur's Gate 3 does not have cross play that means PS5 and PC players are not able to join each other while exploring that's a bit of a shame but hey you'll just need to find some PS5 friends to play with or just check out the PS5 public lobbies there's one more way to play multiplayer with this game and that's local Split Screen Co-op PS5 does have local split screen multiplayer as well start up the game in normal single player mode then pause the game and go to multiplayer at this time you can connect the second controller you should now be able to create a character on the second screen with split screen you can still team up with two other players in an online Lobby and no you don't need two copies of the game you just need the one the local co-op here is a little different than other games like Diablo 4 the second player here is basically a character in your main character's world I mean their progress gets saved to your single player game your single player save file so know your buddies can't just come over and play split screen with you on your one single console now let's talk about the performance on PS5 there's two display modes performance and quality performance is a default it targets unlocked 60fps the native resolution here seems to be close to 1080p it is upscaled though to a higher resolution now PlayStation 5 can't deliver a solid 60 FPS most of the time the frame rate hovers between 40 and 50 FPS there's also a lot of screen tearing perhaps that's the reason my analysis always shows a sub 60fps you can also switch to the second mode quality mode here the native resolution is 1440p and the frame rate is locked to 30 FPS I would say the quality mode does deliver a solid 30 FPS for the most part my suggestion is to play in performance mode since I like the higher frame rate perhaps have a display with vrr to make it more smooth now some might prefer the quality mode though if not for the better image quality it does have the more stable performance now larion did notify me that all the acts should work well with performance 60fps mode sept act 3 which they're wear fit and you know their significant drops it's pretty much in quality 30fps mode they do seem to be working on a resolution so in future updates you may get that cleaned up as well keep in mind Split Screen Co-op is limited to only quality mode as soon as you start split screen the game will just default to Quality 30 FPS mode split screen is after all the reason the games delayed on Xbox it's so demanding they told totally cancel the feature on the Xbox series s a lot of you are also likely wondering about the controls the default controls are using a controller and the game seems to be built with us controller players in mind so the controls work well with the controller I had played using these controls on my steam deck and was fairly impressed by how well they work so PS5 players shouldn't really worry too much here and shouldn't have any complaints but still what about mouse and keyboard some of you are probably wondering about that as well while mouse and keyboard sadly does not work on PlayStation 5 it would have been great to have this feature on the game I'm not sure why it's not there at launch maybe it's something that larion Studios will add on later now for some that might be a deal breaker although controller does work well this game is for sure better with the mouse and keyboard so this was some of the big questions that people might have about PS5 and Boulder's Gate 3. I am gonna do a full technical review of how this game runs and perform comes on a PlayStation 5 versus a higher end gaming PC so stay tuned for that for the rest of the video I have some more gameplay so check that out foreign oh sorry [Music] man foreign [Music] a single strike will end his suffering for the best cup would have died anyway provided for it too late now mercy of course we lost andrick sir he's with Edwin now right he's with the absolute what would you have of me now sir Edwin told us there was a camp of faithful goblins nearby it'll do me good to be among allies go safely true soul
