today we're going to enjoy a flight in the tbm 850 from miami florida over to one of the busiest airports in the bahamas nassau here we go i don't wanna [Music] foreign [Music] all right welcome aboard the tvm850 we'll start it up here at opalaca it's a windy day out boost pump on for the fuel clear out the side and uh starter is on star light is blinking the ignition light is illuminated so that's the first two things that you always want to look at watching the ng rise up and stabilize as high it's going to go right around 15 percent there and reduced the fuel to low idle now we got our light off watching the itt for hot start ng for hung start looks like the itt is going to temp out at 761 degrees celsius on the itt and now it's starting to fall back and the ng is continuing to rise and there we go nice start weather is better than 5005 temperature 26 2.15 altimeter 3033 expect anonymous approach landing runway not our left the partying runway is diner left one two runway nine right airport advisories clearance delivery is combined with ground control on 120.02 advised on initial contact you have information here all right we have information sierra that's the stall warning flash of the taxi that let's know we're ready to go that is annoying isn't it guys give it a thumbs up if uh you thought that was annoying so now that we're turned into the one you're not going to hear that as much it was just because the windows kind of belong from behind the airplane so yeah i'd like to welcome everybody on board it's going to be an exciting day today it's a windy day we'll be flying from opa-locka over to one of the busiest airports in the bahamas nasa and we'll be staying overnight for two nights at the bahama and i'm looking forward to having you guys come along flight time is only 37 minutes today we've got a nice tailwind at altitude they'll get us over there look out at the wings you're going to see flight controls free and correct it's kind of the opposite today the bahamas is actually overcast and cloudy and uh sport here is sunny usually the bahamas is always sunny but today it's a little cloudy and windy look over the tower frequency here hopefully guitar good afternoon i've got our a51 tango bravo holding shorter than i'm left hey one second bravo black star i've been trying to call you about heading zero non-zero runway all right he said he was trying to call us but you know we just went over the tower frequency as we got closer to the end of the runway here right so clear take off looking out to the left there final is clear down the runway's clear across the whole short line centering nine left and we got 7900 feet remaining all right you guys ready to go the bahamas i know i am so line up here on center line and lose the power up or take off power take off power is set temperatures pressure's all good in the green that's pretty gusty right down the runway here so we're not going to use hardly any runway length to get off the ground got a positive rate and indicating tap the brakes we'll just wait a little bit longer to put the gear up until we run out of a usable runway in case we get an issue that looks good we'll select the gear up gonna be a little rowdy on this uh climb out with the winds so you guys got your receivers well i'm gonna take a breathable contact mommy departure departure one tango bro to four thousand on a zero nine zero heading uh departure climb maintain seven thousand seven thousand one tango so we'll put seven thousand in our l2 preselector and we're currently vs to three thousand feet a minute it is a little bumpy so what we're going to do now is we're going to put this thing into 850 mode so we're going to bring the power back just under 100 percent flap lever goes up and over the gate we'll also turn off our initial separator and now we can advance the torque past 100 utilize our 850 shaft horsepower so we're watching the airspeed bleed back we'll see if it gets back to 140 and then we'll hit the is button it might capture up to 7000 before we get to that wow beautiful view of the left wing here that's fort lauderdale beach up that direction as you can see airspeed is just about 140 at the is american 325 contact miami center one three three point four one two three point four buck at three three five tango bottles beach beach one tango bravo all right so we're clear three for four scroll down to beach hunter climbing five thousand and now we're capturing seven thousand feet look down here at the ipad you see this is our routing today we were at the beach transition then pavama intersection ray j into nasa that's we were just giving direct beach we'll go to direct two all right so we're looking good down low we had a 30-something night headwind and if you look out the left side you'll see the white caps it is so windy out today you would not want to be in a boat down there took it's always exciting when i get to take tbm out to the bahamas by far one of my favorite places to fly is in the caribbean and tbm here is one of my favorite airplanes as i've told you before in other videos i do fly this airplane as my full-time job flying airplanes is my opinion a lot more exciting than a nine-to-five desk job and the views out the windows they're always changing climbing see a lot of 63-mm things from our one tango bravo climb 18 1 5 000. all right so we're clearing up to cruise altitude one five thousand set we're going to vs mode we'll vs that 3000 feet a minute we'll also adjust our pressurization down here on the ecs panel for our cruise altitude now if you look down here at the ipad we're just about to cross the 8 is see the i have a life raft right behind me right here and we also have six life jackets on board the life raft i have is actually a 12 to 18 man so i have to use it it's gonna be like a cruise ship it's gonna be bigger than the airplane okay we're just watching the uh airspeed once again bleed down because we're vs 3000 feet a minute the airplane cannot hold that without the air speed bleeding off going to 10 000 feet there we go the air speeds back to 140 knots so we once again will hit the is button and now the airplane will stay pitched for 140. until we hit one five thousand feet but looks like we're just passing through the cloud layer which is the highest around here today right around oh [Music] a51 tango bravo miami spencer the fort lauderdale altimeter three zero three one three one thank you all right so we're gonna level up i'm gonna push with my left hand here get the rudder trim over there so we'll stay in coordinated flight everyone tango bravo quicker at rayj so ray j is a fix a little bit farther down around here so we'll scroll down to ray j we'll do a direct enter enter since we're in nav mode now the airplane is going to bank over to the right here and i'm gonna start to see bimini coming up off our right hand side 45-32 miami center climb or maintain this one of the first islands of the bahamas that you'll come to when you fly out here a lot of times they'll give you a crossing restriction which will start us down in approximately 12 minutes and 52 seconds but down here on the ipad it just popped up and those were within range of the 8th you'll see myn and atis 18 7. so when it knows you within your range of the aetus will you'll put and we'll give her a listen here and see what they're reporting out information there time one seven zero zero utc is runway one zero one zero zero eight zero fifteen not visibility let's [Music] unfortunately with the overcast layer right here we're going to lose our beautiful views of the miami american 318 bahamas i know our next frequency will be miami center on 25.7 so i got that already set up go to 280 american 380. so stay ahead of the flight as much as you can at this time direct buy attack america i've been flying on the bahamas around 13 years now contact miami spencer miami approach 45 different airports throughout the crisis so this is kind of like my hood you know 851 take a bravo contact miami center one two five point seven twenty five seven one tango bravo have a good day there we go as we stayed ahead of flight all you have to do is just push one button 25 7 that's our next frequency good afternoon tbm 851 tango bravo one five thousand pbm eight five one tango bravo miami center it's gonna maintain one one thousand mass altimeter tree zero three zero three zero three zero down to one one thousand eight five one tango bravo and since now we're in our descent we'll also readjust our pressurization for our landing i always like to square up the heading bug right now you can see it's a little off so just give her a little tap and i'll square up to your current heading right now we're in that mode so it's not quite level two four zero navigating off the heading plug number four two two quebec sierra miami center we're not doing too bad right now in the descent at a 1 3 200 we are going 301 knots across the ground indicated at about 225 indicator speed and we're trueing out at 282 so much faster it's so nice their vans will go a lot slower than the tbm but they carry a lot more so it's a trade-off i don't know what do you guys like you like the caravans better or tbm leave in the comments below see which one you guys like i used to fly the caravans a lot but i no longer fly the caravans currently now in my life i'm just doing tbm 850 and tbm 940 is what i fly one thousand go as you can see it's about one two thousand just like the one one thousand which we have set up they never gave us the crossing restriction but he's still putting us down to 1 1000. we'll be down to 1000 before ray j wow look at off the left wing you can see that beautiful caribbean water and we're about to lose sight of it with that overcast layer it's a shame i get to bring you guys out here and now we get to see clouds instead of the waters and the islands but it's still going to be a fun play that's a this is uncommon for the bahamas a big large overcast layer like this it's supposed to be overcast pretty much the whole time we're gonna be staying out here we're staying at a beautiful resort the bahama stay tuned at the end of the video i'll show some footage of the resort where we're staying in case you guys ever think about coming out two four seven golf coming approved and that was one thousand feet to go four thousand sunday three thousand if you wanted to reduce ourselves all right so here we go reduce speed to one eight zero watch those blue skies go away bravo descend to 1500 direct moly mike oscar lima echo echo 1 500 drag molly 851 ticket so we got mobile right there direct enter enter go into nav mode one two four seven golf turn right direct moly echo echo we're just relying on our instruments now since we can't see out the windows and it's going to get a little bumpy because it's windy down here where the heading plug up brickyard 45-320 and as you can see the white caps so it's just as windy over here all right it's time to go to work guys put the armrest up brickyard 45 32 verify out the field inside 11 o'clock at niner miles 45 32. all right so we are now under the overcast player good day 1 500 45 32 start to see the island out there after 12 o'clock november 815 tango bravo verify out the field in sight 11 o'clock and 10 miles hey firm feels like one tango bravo one tango bravo reduced to your approach speed now sir you're following embryo traffic also eleven o'clock and five miles indicating one four zero ground speed will slow up to a final approach speed one tango brother one tango bravo declared visual approach to follow the embryo caution wake turbulence tower nineteen five you'll follow the empire in for one zero and go over the tower eight five one tango brother thanks we're gonna slow it up here drastically yeah so the tower good afternoon tbm 851 tango bravo on the visual for one zero cbm a51 tango follows charlemagne 0601 not continue approaching number two number one traffic two miles on final confirm odyssey roger containment a firm we were going into odyssey no ready five one two um all right so we're slowing it up we got the runway out there in sight you can see it we will go flaps first notch selected look at the wing out there you'll see him coming down the flaps and there we go we're just over all the way turning in towards the runway and we will go up here select it down put our heading bug to our final approach course here's down three green we'll disconnect the autopilot have a little fun hand flying in here and let the airplane have all the fun they're looking good beautiful view of the island out there even though it's an overcast layer you can see the waves tells you how windy it is pbm 851 tango bravo nasa tower runway one zero cloud salon clear to land right one zero five one taken forever looking good i'm gonna actually disconnect the odd damper click on the uh left side of the oak here we'll get on the rudder pedals now right at this altitude it's showing 28 knots now there's no point really going into any bit of reverse on this landing as we have to roll out pretty much all the way down to the other end of the runway about the left 500. there we go nice long runway here right now the airplane's yawning around a little bit here and there because we've got the odd damper off have that on it keeps the airplane from going left and right so much alright so we're looking good right on her a little bit fast about you know about eight knots faster than i want to be but it's okay with the wind gusting around we have a little winch here like could be a little bit faster than going too slow we're coming in see my touchdown point right there i'm going to go back to flight idle go into the flare a little bit of right rudder okay hold it and drop it on right down in there we go we'll bring it back in the beta just a little bit just to slow stuff welcome to nasa bahamas 893 confirm ready for departure polly right here they're gonna have american airlines take off on the crossing runway which is just out here in front of us very important when i make this turn uh coming up right here here's kilo this is where it's very important that i would always listen correctly to the taxing instructions if i was just to go a little bit farther up ahead that's only 1-0 where that american airlines is taking off so it's very important every little step of these lights that remember one two four seven go confirm you receive the challenger at 12 o'clock he would taxing it a little bit too loud spacing behind the challenger into the ramp eight five one tango bravo my flagship uh taxi had a bit declared whether or not we'll do and 184 bbq look at the giveaway to the incoming uh tbm eight once he is in the rom you can join lima the whole shot of roman 1 4. uh we're going behind this challenge into odyssey we can uh there's another airplane which is going to give way to us we're getting squeezed in between these two airplanes to get into the ramp they will be using odyssey the fbo here this is where we'll get some fuel and then clear in they got customs right here and uh november 4th i actually died across from one floor onto alpha horizon hotel there instructions in we'll shut this thing down and and
