Who was this about?
Never outshine the master
I don’t think Bobby was in the wrong. If that’s his opener and he feels that the ball gown shit is not the vibe he wants then it’s going to throw him off. There’s more to comedy than just telling funny jokes. Even if it was a guy in a tuxedo and a tophat, you can’t act like that’s just a normal thing a person wears. It’s a gimmick.
I don’t understand why this is an issue... if they’re funny.. then they’re funny. It shouldn’t matter wtf they’re wearing, or not wearing (if you’re Bobby of course).
I still think it was an obvious power play by the MC, she was doing a focus pull for sure. I totally get why Bobby would be pissed when they make it that obvious. Still, you gotta respect a doer.
Bobby was in the wrong
I’ve seen Bobby live. He destroyed, but he also took off all his clothes except his underwear and gave a dude a lap dance. I didn’t see his skid marks but I knew they were there from the pod. I’m not sure Bobby is the one to be blowing up at people for what they choose to wear. I get that she’s the opener, but it sounds like he blew up at her in the green room after the show and then he has been trying to get people in showbiz to dislike her by talking shit for years afterwards, so essentially trying to sink her career. Bobby is so wrong in this scenario that I sometimes feel like a lot of this fanbase are like cult members.
His MC wore a goofy dress to a comedy show... And this is how serious he took it... The irony XD
That being said, he has every right as the head liner/boss, to dictate the content of his. That includes wardrobe. There is no reason to turn that into anything more than that.
Bobby being mean to her or immediately trying to fire her, is just as unjustified as her saying that she is going to wear the gown anyways.
