7 Horrendous Spider Transformations that Prove Spider-Man Hit the F***ing Jackpot

you might think spider-man has it rough bitten by a radioactive arachnid in his youth he is consigned to a life of crime fighting compelled to use his superhuman strength and reflexes to battle evil and keep all of new york safe tough break until that is you consider all the other things that can happen when a person somehow becomes crossed with a spider and realize that they are without exception completely awful monstrous meshings of man and bug that trap the afflicted in what is clearly a living hell with absolutely no sign of improved abs or upside down snogging here are the horrendous spider transformations that prove peter parker hit the jackpot actually but we're spoilers and spiders in the following games [Music] [Applause] [Music] ah oh well how are you then i slipped and flipped that lever you see it didn't cause you any trouble by chance oh really yes i see righty-o then everything's good isn't it i'm trusty patches the one and only dark souls is not a game in which you need anyone's help to fall down a hole weird then that the soul series of games features a recurring character whose whole deal is trapping you in pits that character is called patches and he is a day one [ __ ] this place is treacherous do you watch your steps this chuckling con artist will in each of these rock hard adventure games delight in acting all chummy before leading you into a cunning trap for instance by suggesting you go look at a hole full of treasure then kicking you into the hole i mean okay it's not that cunning now we come to think about it this is what i do my friend nevertheless you'll fall for patches ploys over and over in subsequent games getting a little more infuriated every time say hello to the nice giant he adores visitors which makes us somewhat unsympathetic to the fact that in bloodborne this long-running series stalwart has undergone a hideous transformation though you wouldn't know it when you first glimpse him through a broken window oh cease this dithering take the plunge throw yourself to the wolves it's only later on having survived his meddling that you can confront patches and discover that somehow this incarnation of the softly spoken scoundrel has been transformed into a hideous spider and finally has a creepy crawly physical form to match his personality no matter such details are trifling we're fast friends by now it's not clear why or how patches was transformed into a spider perhaps it was a curse that he chose so that he can simultaneously kick eight people into eight individual holes what is certain is that his plans have got weirder along with his body in bloodborne patch's grand scheme appears to be to get you killed by the monstrous amygdala have mercy on the poor bastard though how this benefits patches is anyone's guess maybe he gets to lay eggs in your remains or something best not to think about it hunt showdown is an online game that drops you into a huge level then tasks you with searching your environment for a series of clues that when assembled will reveal the location of a horrifying monster to get those clues you'll need to avoid dangers littered throughout the grimy and zombie ravaged landscape gathering resources along the way and taking care of enemies as sneakily and efficiently as possible which all makes sense right up until the point where you get the final clue discover the location of this deadly opponent and then run towards instead of the hell away from it but winning the game involves walking away with the bounty game from killing that monster which means at some point you'll likely end up in the lair of one of hunt's showdown's fearsome boss enemies [Music] ready to throw down with the spider for it is one of the monsters in the game and is also a contender for the most creepy and terrifying spider type enemy in all of fiction the spider is a horrifying foe never more than one missed step away from dousing you in deadly poison and it moves with such alarming speed never pausing in the same spot for more than a moment that it's a tricky target to hit let alone get a clear look at you can however seize an opportunity to examine the spider up close once it's dead and if you can bear to look closely at this hairy wall crawling fiend you might be surprised to see that it's not really a spider at all don't these twisted limbs look disturbingly human to you and that's before you find the face yeah this tangled mess of limbs also has a human face staring out of it confirming that this is yet another example of a video game coming up with a spider-centric transformation so grim it would make david cronenberg say bit much mate our best clue as to how the spider came to be comes from the game's cryptic unlockable lore entries which detail that the spider's physical form is composed of many humans with one head and mandibles formed out of fused arms and is brought horribly into being when a number of people die sharing great and insurmountable suffering all of which is more than enough to make us want to perform the banishing ritual on the spider claim its loot and never have to look at that face again time to end this nightmare and get to banishing okay is it just me or is this worse [Music] somehow we know that greed often carries terrible consequences from eating two large domino's pizzas in one sitting for instance or from watching hbo's succession or watching hbo's succession while eating two large domino's pizzas that night was a real learning experience but you won't know quite how terrible the consequences of avarice can be unless you play the legend of zelda ocarina of time and pay a visit to the terrifying house of scotula [Music] in this dark and web covered building you'll meet a horribly transformed nobleman whose lust for money brought a spider's curse upon his whole family once human but now horribly melded with the body of a skullchiller spider the melancholy man goes on to explain that he's trapped in this hellish existence until some brave hero should vanquish every golden spider of the curse in hyrule which he's not going to be doing anytime soon on account of living in the rafters of a dusty old house meaning he's trapped in the body of a disgusting spider along with his whole family although they're a bit less eloquent about the condition [Music] that's closer to how audrey acts to be fair as spider transformations go this one could scarcely be worse the skullchiller gets its name from its hard skull-shaped carapace and it's this horrible edifice that the cursed man's desperate staring eyes are locked inside that nightmarish expression sits above a disgusting toothy jaw and is surrounded by eight thin spider legs one of which horrifically hasn't transformed all the way leaving the cursed man with one grasping human hand it's so gross that you might be tempted to try and kill this abomination although as with all the best curses the man cannot die he can only scream [Music] should you pity this freakish family enough to undertake the quest and kill the golden sculpture spiders found around hyrule you can bring the tokens back to the house and enjoy the sight of the family members freed from the awful living death although all they seem to want to do with their newfound liberty is arm stretches come on team at least leave the house maybe you look like you could use some fresh air collect all 100 and how does this man who was so horribly punished for his love of money decide to reward you for this incredible act with money is how yeah someone didn't learn their lesson so oxford the first true green city an entire english town completely unreliant on fossil fuels since harnessing the carbon neutral and endlessly renewable power source that is j.r.r tolkien spinning in his grave at sexy shelob [Music] i called you here for a reason okay so shadow of war takes some liberties with tolkien's original text but on the flip side it gives this list one of its more interesting creepy arachno transformations because this shelob isn't merely a caravan sized spider who lives in a cave and eats orcs she also pops on a cocktail dress now and then to assume human form then meddle with protagonist talion and his ghost elf friend kalebrimbor's adventures with the rings of power the ring is lost so look to me and the dark lord's armies that surround him why because in this version of middle earth the makers of the game say shelob is basically on the side of good and having seen the future in which hero italian uses a new ring of power to defeat sauron only to replace him as an even worse bright lord she decides to step in and presumably believe that making her point of view heard would have been harder if she had eight eyes and was eating flies that is the future i fought against the game arguably makes even bigger claims about shelob's spider status however with cut scenes and dialogue that seemed to hint that she started life without eight legs i chose the form of a spider because i wanted to walk the web of fate to wave its strands and if you ask us this unlockable flashback seems to imply that shelob didn't actually undergo her hideous transformation until she was betrayed by sauron in his smarmy elf form and had to kill her way back to safety and shadows as only a spider can the great deceiver will pay for which is quite a claim lore wise so before you head to the comment section to tell us how she lobs actually the spider offspring of angolian to the primordial and was born as such we'd like to try and distract you with what this cutscene also shows perhaps our first and only ever look at sauron's bed what a preposterously large headboard there's your fan wiki article folks [Music] i think we've all at some point looked at a spider crawling along a wall in our home and thought god i'm glad that thing can't shoot rockets but what if it could well that's the kind of bold thinking that propelled this genius scientist the hero of 1997's spider the video game to develop a cybernetic spider a like to its arachnid kin in every way but enhanced with micro weapons cybernetic organism ready proceed with thought transfer verify id id accepted system ready needless to say this technology would be catastrophic in the wrong hands and literally moments after booting the thing up said scientist is killed by sinister forces out to steal his spider technology presumably hoping to build their own army of cybernetic spiders which i don't know maybe it would be more deadly and exciting than it sounds [Music] but death would be too simple and perhaps too pleasant for this scientist who due to a malfunction instead has his dying consciousness fused with the tiny robot spider [Music] so now his day-to-day involves an excessive amount of platforming avoiding the suddenly enormous perils of his human laboratory and trying not to be killed by the hordes of bugs that have also been unleashed by the would-be killers which explode when you kill them because they are also cybernetic but old science boy is wishing you spent more time on lab security and less time building robot wasps having your mind sealed inside a tiny robot spider isn't all bad though now you have for instance rocket attachments for your cybernetic legs and the one thing we always feared that spiders would one day master that's right boomerangs [Music] boomerangs people [Music] no series is quite so fond of hideous mutant transformations as resident evil like how in resi seven jack baker turns into a fleshy biomass intent on destruction or how in resi 2 william birkin turns into a fleshy biomass intent on destruction or how in resi 4 osmond sadler turns into this biomass we'd describe it as fleshy and its intent well friends that would be destruction you get the picture so it's weird that this long-running series has never featured a person getting their dna horribly mashed up with that of a spider what gives well guess what it did happen in the follow-up to the very first resident evil a sequel now known as resident evil 1.5 that was almost complete when it was cancelled the developers unhappy with how the game was turning out being so nearly done at the point where it was binned however we know a lot about what was going to be in the game like monstrously altered animal enemies including a zombie gorilla [Music] and yes the so-called man spider a fabulously unpleasant spider-human hybrid enemy likely created as a result of laboratory meddling and injecting things with viruses this eight-legged horror show would have burst out of floor vents to terrify the player as you can briefly see in this promo clip for the cancelled game astoundingly that isn't even the only hideous spider hybrid or spybridge if you will to be scrapped from a resident evil title this total creep vest for instance was at one point going to be in resident evil zero and is enough to make us think it's probably fine if developers capcom never get round to including a spider hybrid in resident evil 8. i mean seriously folks no rush oh dear what have we here are you a new servant but you have no eggs no matter go along and have audience with our fair lady i pray that you will mind your manners perhaps you think it's lazy to feature two horrible spider monsters from the soulsborne series on this list well guess what actually we're very brave heroes for managing to whittle it down to just two but in a series crawling with horrible arachnids there is one victim of spider transformation who really stands out in terms of how revolting and heart achingly tragic her fate is the witch of izalith and her daughters of chaos the source of this transformation is the witch of izalith glimpsed only in the game's opening cinematic whose attempts to recreate the first fire and prolong the age of flame went seriously wrong leaving her and her family horribly changed her into a thrashing on fire mess of wooden limbs and her daughters as the victims of spider transformations an alteration that means where they once had legs they now have an entire spider instead dark souls players will remember an encounter with one of these daughters only too well because it is chaos witch quailag the terrifying and aggressive spider boss who loves spewing lava from the mouth of her spider midriff almost as much as she loves slicing you up with her fiery sword much less aggressive but no less memorable however is another of the witch's daughters encountered after you've killed quelaag quailag's sister is afflicted with the same curse but also with an illness that has left that hulking great spider body ashy in colour and immobile and she herself blind dubbed the fair lady quailag's sister won't speak to you at all unless you're wearing a specific ring but perhaps don't go out of your way to track that ring down because what this dying sibling has to say is absolutely tragic what is it yes blind and weakened this poor half spider thinks you are quailag with no knowledge that her sister and protector is dead by your hand leaving you to hear her croaky voiced mutterings as she teeters on the brink of death my dear sister the eggs they've gone still i am afraid it may be too late i am so sorry dear sister great now i feel extremely guilty look if i had a glass and a postcard big enough your sister would be outside right now i'll be fine i have you dear sister so those were some of the video games that really really went out there with the horrible spider transformations i mean my goodness my goodness they were really grim of spider transformations that if peter parker were to look at them he would be like wow boy i won
