You Won't Believe What This Boiler service uncovers! THIS WILL SHOCK YOU

it's probably one of the worst boilers I've seen look at that what I can do for this one so we're going to be looking at boiler Services the good and the bad and trust me the bad is probably one of the worst boilers I've seen again a lot of calls this time of year people want their boiler service get it ready for winter make sure everything's working fine and normally this is a straightforward job for any gas engineer but when the boiler hasn't been maintained properly it can turn into a nightmare so we're going to be looking at the same boiler one's good and one's bad really bad so as them in the comments I'll do my best to get back to you and answer it so yeah let's get straight into this one we got is this wer green star they just a routine service on this one so let's have a look so to get the case off on these get the cas pull that out one screw underneath here another screw just underneath there get them out you'll see just underneath here there these green tabs now these break all the time but do that it'll pull down right that you have two screws one there there a little latch here and just pull the case forward things they updated on the Compact Auto event they had a problem with them leaking and this seal acoss here you can actually get that as a pack for these first thing going to do is get that trap out so just connect it from that there we go I should twist and pull out I don't this to go everywhere we go twist out down get that clean [Music] out ni it all clean you see on the bottom there can't get enough in there Scrapy to get all that off I got the bulk of it let's get that back in should just push in twist lock on and that got into that there we go that's it all back in let tra clear so that's the test point there that you use to do the FR pressure be that's take that out get that on I'm just going to f up the aner and see what readings we get to get into maximum you press them two buttons there hold it down then use the ARs on the right put to minimum and maximum first one we're going to do is the maximum we're going to get the fan pressure test on and that's coming at about 5.5 5.4 which is spot on and that's our minimum ratings looking good and we're going to just pop the ball into Max Go side and we're going to do a gas right old school meter so what you got to do is when the do's moving it just time it see how long get text to do one revolution put that in your gas R calculator there is a long way to do the calculation that I can't remember top my head but if anyone can remember it it in the comments I'll be well impressed went back inside checked the maximum and it was spot on apologies for the next bit the analyzer is a little bit noisy it's got two Runners on the bottom just line up there the case there and to get this back up you just got to angle it in so it comes like angle P that and lock back in in the green tab push them back up aut G back off need two screws them back in So minimum maximum is okay but put the cas back on do maximum that's because with the cas off it's ping its air from inside so what we do there is flu integrity and the maximum with the cas back on Cas back on maximum that is f so what do is I'll put on the screen what the readings should be for maximum minimum and the fan pressure here's the fan pressure readings and what you should be getting on your minimum and maximum get service mode press the two buttons there you go say service mode check we going to do now is the FSD gas supply there isolate create a demand on the hot water wait for the boiler to lock out make sure that locks out there we go EA 227 is flame [Music] failure reset the volum out the reset one wait for that fire back up make sure it works and got a bit of leak sector on there we have the out leak seor on there braces we go see that's all the trick one thing I've noticed no filter no filter why why went for a filter nice straightforward service that one compact don't like them boilers I don't like them they're just too compact um have you ever tried to get the electro or give him a full stream clean you know what I mean don't like them do not like them I don't know what wer was thinking with that one I don't know some of you might might like them I don't know just me not my cty so round two this is the same ball compact customer booked in a routine service but they said to been having problems with the boiler so we bought up the fault memory and it's coming up EA first thing we noticed condensate TRS backing up so that's one warning sign some sale look like it gone at some point and the auto event warning so number two we got to do that some s two screws evoid undo them and that will pull forward and get 8 way so we got that at the way and we're just looking inside now and it's proper backing up it looks like it has never been cleaned so we now know this is no longer a routine service this is going to be a full stripping clean so we need to get the fan out the way screw it the front see that turret you can swing that out the way to get to the back knot so you take them two screws out and the fan will come out and we tried to get the fan plug off but it's seized on there so we have to get our grips get that off under the gas valve and the spark generator that'll just slide up and out the way then you can just jiggle that fan out it's not the easiest to work on this boiler that a fan out the way but the Earth lead that was rock and get it off there's four Clips on these all that and this come so you push down on that then you can put it away and out you can undo that just repeat that four times four the four bolts one Vol at the back as well that's definitely one that needs replacing CS way 10 minut and yeah I can get do let's take a look at this burner it still looks okay to be fair wow how he nailed I think I'm going to get that clean I mean that he's that is probably one of the worst I've seen that's horrendous legs have gone Auto's gone this se's gone the sty around here I think it's off that sale but I don't know it carries on up around here as well you normally get that off in that on the um o SI when they go on the exchange Ste so same around here but that could be off the auto leaking but best adress here cuz this is in a V horrible State it's probably one the wor BS I've seen look at that wow I supposed to give you this kit to clean out the compacts so what you can do is get down inside there let me just put the light on there we go so you can get down ins side the gaps but it's that cake up strugling to get this down [Music] these might take a while before I scrape it as much as I can but we're going to there let's try and wash it through best we can hope do block up yeah I just clean it all out and I realized the TRU was already blocked up wasn't it I've took it out look at that wow it's probably one of the worst ones I see for blocking off let's get that wash it that's as clean as I can get that I can't get nothing in there to clean the PT but I just sitting in the to this a never been done prop scraped it out God knows how many times the blade keeps getting stuck hey bu it is look I can't get much cleaner than that I can't get nothing in there to cleaning it's about 45 minutes now scraping and pouring traps blocked up again and is in there what I can do for this one then just keep going aty but filthy another bucket full another conate M I just cannot get all that I cannot get all these deposit it is Ry worst Bo ever seen I've tried and tried and tried to clean all side there and [Music] there bated we're going to do the auto comes in the pack that's the Worster number auto event and some as well handy pack I ring you around just in case you ever come across this going to do pull that clip out place it there we go see we can put put it back in there it's like a spring so you have to push it we go there we go I got you right so we got the fan back in now need on this one cuz we hav be H for the day now stay and sort these but getting the fan balls back on you seen them one earli at the front just there there's one at the back 7 mil socket I've got on there this my we comes in very handy that's well is back on then ignition electr just hooks on that PL there and down there that let's get this some one just go on there got to stretch it out get it on there we go that's new on let's get that back in just while go dry down might as well pump it up P the expansion there go got just under one disconnect my closet dry enough off just can unate the boiler do fan pressure test anal on about 3.5 on the F pressure yeah even with all that clean some Maxim them get on to minimum and that's what the minimum command that's the final combustion reading with the case on and the gas rate 27.9 just about passed that last one was bad really bad I don't know what else could have done to clean it out I really was trying my best to try and get in between all them things and get all the dirt out so I have quite the customer for some new electrodes and to give it another clean through but they just want to see how they get on with it I can't force the customer to spend money on the boiler I can only do what I can do while I'm there I said it was only booked in for the standard service should take 45 minutes I end up spending two hours there trying to sort that boiler out the bad thing is she's been paying for the service every year it's 9 years old she's out service every year so yeah it's really unfortunate for that customer she' been paying the money thinking she's looking after the boiler and in fact nobody's even touched it but there you go that is two different SIDS to baller servicing so the 2K giveway is nearly upon on us we only
