You Took Your Mazda DOWN HERE?!

you might be pulling me out of here so we got a call for what kind of some a mazda mazda rx or something uh some sort of mazda that's stuck um she says he's down in a little bit of a wash and we're gonna head out there and see if we can get them got lizzy with us today it's a beautiful day it's getting up to the 70s this week and it's gorgeous zero clouds it's gonna be a good day you got rudy swinging a camera today okay we'll get us there then there's one set of tracks going in none coming out let's say we're on the right track here [Music] [Music] [Music] i'm quite impressed so [Music] good afternoon so we'll take a soft shackle whatever just a yellow rope and go right there pull just like so i'm gonna drive this up to where it is just turn around and get in front of me rudy you're probably gonna be on foot that's okay my goal is to get out of here without losing the tire on this car and i can't believe it still has all its air pressure because i've seen some of the rocks this is driven over i'm gonna roll a rock here [Music] lizzy i'm actually going to leave you with that i didn't know if the flashes might go or stop stop so um i'm just gonna leave you in this and i'll use my lights and my horn to tell you what to do one means go tuning stuff that gets pretty steep right up there i know so we're going to snub this up a little closer because we got a sharp corner to go around up there i don't want the jeep pulling me way sideways so rudy's got double duty of spotter and cameraman so good luck with that kayla i'm gonna need all the help i can get nice and easy nice and easy [Music] whoa whoa that rock is too big to run over big rock that rock is too big to run over okay okay we're good yeah quite the procession here i'm impressed really you can't help but well we're just about to the top of this hill and we have not flattened the tire on either rig so i'm feeling pretty optimistic about the success the entire success of this particular recovery it's a little hotter than i'd like it today but you know so there's a giant canyon right there that is the virgin river [Music] and then zion you can just barely see peaks of it maybe you can't all right thank you so much all right so some people wonder how long these rescues take that one took 30 minutes from the time we left the shop until right now what do you got to say about it lizzy well when i got the call that we got a recovery rudy's like oh yeah it'll just be a super easy one well was that super easy it kind of was but like it was a lot more difficult than we thought it was good it was technical over a long like distance it had geo metro abandoned in the desert crimes though really yeah so we got a call for a truck that is stuck out on the kybab in the snow i don't know if we need to snow cut or not but that's what we brought we've got paul meeting us out there because it's not too far from his house he's going to offer some backup support and we're gonna get this done tonight we sure will it's about two hours away right yeah about two hours away it's 8 p.m right now i was getting ready to go to bed but you know this works too sleep isn't important we got jackets in the body we gotta get bombay on there somebody called that a rattle trap if you call that a rattle trap you're accurate and offensive so uh where are they at up here exactly they said they're definitely on ryan road just straight straight back so if we can do it with your truck we'll do it with your truck if we need to unload this we'll unload this all right somebody tried to help them already ready and couldn't get them out are they in a four-wheel drive yeah also they are pretty stuck probably then yeah gonna be a good time oh yeah so paul was surprised to see the snow cat and i don't blame him because i certainly wouldn't have brought it if it wasn't already loaded on the trailer tied down it's getting frigid out there what about 32 degrees that's all the magic number sad so they they went up there and tried to pull them out and we're unable to do so those look like today this is ryan road yes let's go stay on ryan road all right there's somebody been drip that drove out of here that's paul we just pulled in oh those look old exactly so that's kind of that's probably their tracks this road is rough it's about as bad as it gets no new tracks on this so there's zero new tracks this is definitely not the right way no i think i think you go back to your pavement head towards the ranger station do you know if that road's clear all the way through it's not gonna we won't make it to the north rim no way but we can make it to the ranger station probably somewhere there see these snowballs yeah pretty awesome that donut back there like i've seen those in cartoons [Music] so we turned around in the most complicated spot possible and this spot right here that had plenty of room we could have just turned around right here i was about to give up i was too i didn't think it was down this way brian got a hold of you guys yes somebody did okay no i i knew he would but i i'm like do they know we're coming they're not going to leave their vehicle he's like i think so yeah he's way too old all right well let's get i'll get out of the way paul if you want to get hooked up yep so get you out of the way i'm just gonna back well i need to get turned around so there's no snow under the trees right here i was just looking right there if you can come like right behind him right here and turn and come through these trees going to try it i got a snow cat if everything goes really bad through here but i'm not sure i can drive a pickup in the trailer grab your rope grab your rope so are you thinking get me in a position where i can do that with that truck i think so all right all right you ready maybe you might be pulling me out of here okay rudy um just head out i'll follow you for a minute we're gonna get back on decent road i was beginning to think that was a wild goose chase we were giving up yeah we didn't think that uh well there wasn't enough snow to get stuck in yeah exactly so but there was yeah they're a little tired they want somebody driving home so that's gonna be me this is where we say goodbye to paul and i'm gonna go home and get some cold supper i'm gonna go home too yep all right well we'll see you guys drive safe
