There's NO WAY you'll recover that truck! (Rescuing a Chevy Silverado)

got to go backwards first is it morning already it's morning have you ever seen Matt get this prepared for a job so we got a call for a Chevy truck is it a Chevy truck a Chevy [ __ ] yeah so we got a call for a half-ton Chevy truck that is stucked on Boulder Mountain last fall fall of 2019 and slid off the road and they were unable to recover it and they've sent other a few other token openes to see if they can go get it and nobody's been successful so we're headed up there to see if we can get it we got Ryan with me we got the camera crew in the back seat we also got Ed come and he decided he wasn't gonna mess this adventure so he's following us in the Dakota we're gonna be meeting Paul from fab rats up the junction up here and we're gonna go see if we can get it out don't worry I'm just waiting for Matt like normal over here so we got a drive clear across the whole top of the boulder to get to this thing anyway the keys were left at a our main park yeah said good luck we'll go give her a shot there the keys for a guy who drove down the wrong way yeah I have no expectations because I don't know what's out there but the reports that we're getting from people on search-and-rescue around here we're headed into a pretty pretty wild situation pretty rough and they are kind of betting against us okay we're ready okay come on let's go we would really like to get the job done today but we brought all of our camping gear in in case this is a two day event yeah Dave from the Forest Service he said going from Tori Paul talked to somebody that some guys that are from there that say there's another way in but there might be motorcycle riders yeah well it looks like the trail kind of continues from highway 12 but I mean just looking for a man aerial view on a on a heart event yeah you can't tell the the terrain at all you don't know what you're getting into so it's probably the smart choice to take the same path he did that got into where you had the problem yeah okay next pull out next intersection next something that's big enough to drop this rail [Music] you brought us that walk ya got - okay no I lost him nut I never tightened those up how long on the one loose those are 585 18 that the other one no you want to tighten it for us yes [Music] isn't it it sure is I've got another spacer so this is a trail fix and and everybody that is gonna be saying jeeps terrible they're the worst a hundred percent with you completely agree they hot no but they're hard to compare it looked like you were bouncing all over the place when you said you got a shock hanging on what I didn't even have to be like there's no way I know I not only know that that's the problem but I know why waited a good two miles it was really loose in the backend with the shocks not correctly mounted anyway that's an update from the top of Boulder mountain one-handed man I'm like driving like this I'm not even paying attention now before us kind of [Music] I can't go back did you go that's why we keep waiting hey lady I meant four-wheel high over that one so as we continue on this main road it is just becoming more and more deteriorated so we're down to two track road and rock gardens that's kind of the two options we got beautiful we're right there okay our buddies this way Wow [Music] we're gonna go up there we're gonna win to back up on fire it up drives out of here that later that way back upwards come on I want to go too high wait we'll see you ball backwards first you pull the front up first the backspin slide down that chute tell me what you're thinking I'm thinking walking Parker whole process right here parking the truck right here running a snatch block up to that tree back down to the back of the truck okay and get in the back setting up on and then hooking I pull in another chuck up there with a winch once the backs up on and then getting that one tight and then hook into the front with the snatch block and while you're pulling back where we can tie that front off to something you had a tree - just to keep it from shifting a ton but we're gonna have to back to here all back to here non-recovery out of the trucks yeah they didn't make it very far though my lungs are burned oh so we're gonna unload all the non recovery equipment everything want some bug spray on you we can get you down the bottom when I can set clear up here on top we can hook the ropes and stuff together pull on a bolt at the same time I like that a lot better we wander up there and see if we can figure it out somewhere like right here around that tree this would be the spot once I start coming if you're hooked off of one of these other trees you won't move up to the front yeah we'll just slide the whole thing down and we'll kind of pull it backwards enough at the same time yeah we know what rope we need to tie you off so we don't have to hike it up then off from the other end and then you can stretch this puppy out okay that's good so what we're doing here is just giving an anchor to Paul so when he starts winch and he doesn't pull himself off the hill [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] what's that [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] body was cheating but right now I'm taking it [Music] my foot your back tires gonna drop I got a treat all right there watch that cable how much of mine will have to take some back okay but let me put my my hitch in there okay and we can put a shackle in there yeah we can put a shack on it that'd be way better I mean I would do it we all have why are you guys are filming just be crazy yeah these guys YouTube channel he does this stuff you watch all the discoveries on it oh oh cool what's that called Matt's off-road okay you'll see this one pop up on I'm blocked in now [Music] was working [Music] Hey [Music] rolling [Music] are you sure that's not an bark anymore stop tell him to stop let me see if I get the front end over oh yeah why did you get in for a second right yeah I'll go pop the hood [Music] around [Music] aha is he gonna start okay Oh No she's been well-maintained nice and clean he says he's willing to trade this truck job [Music] you guys keep the Rope tight you drive it right on out of here back on - yeah [Music] here whilst on the left okay just a little bit more don't move from there no matter what it does we're gonna try to get the front of nose up on the trail there I secured a little bit more [Music] [Music] [Music] okay I'm thinking about just staying on yeah yeah I think if you were to stay on the whole little band all came back and you're gonna be is gonna straighten the truck right out yeah you're you're climbing higher that I think you really should be down here yeah I think so too if that's the case why don't you wiggle to the right and wiggle down here and then don't worry I've nothing here hey I want to say something the camera right there that probably want to be okay when I'm in a situation like this and I have to touch the truck I don't think that I can stop it from rolling that will be the fastest indicator of this thing starting to move so I don't have to be watching it and I'm using the device sense of touch to feel what this vehicle is doing this is going so much better that I thought it was going where that trunk of that that way I got it I've got ten foot of chain okay staying hooked to him because I've got quite a bit of fall slidin he's getting us start easing him back okay hey watch away from that rope fellows yep hey get up on the hill see and see it all I want you guys at least behind that tree okay your reverse lights is Paul's indicator to pull so when I say stop pop it back in neutral okay go ahead [Music] right over the top of those rocks together turn the other way driver-side yep [Music] more driver [Music] right straighten it out that's good right there little driver right there [Music] [Music] are we touching on that rear differential nope okay you're clear okay okay go [Music] passenger [Music] whoa he's coming off the down beautiful let me roll okay go ahead Ryan [Music] why the drivers a fairly good [Music] a little bit hold the brake line we got a bunch stuff on one side little bit it's not bad Ryan what if I just start backing up [Music] it actually felt good really you weren't going nowhere mad at it yeah I mean it couldn't get over it listen here yep so will that come out easier than I thought the battery was good and it started now we put a jump box on it but it started right up great hope he's got enough fuel we got more I got some I'll be done [Music] a little bit rappy don't know what this thing's temperament is I think you might be better off just to come right back up where you came down which is where right over here [Music] you're gonna start to tip that way a little [Music] [Music] there was goodness getting there banana my exhaust bolts I couldn't do the work in my shop on my left or here to trail fixes all right so we got there and we got the truck found a lot of driving I wasn't too excited when I saw it it was way worse than the picture show pictures all day that looked like it was on a decent Road actually yeah it was I don't know it was down there little sketchy driving down there but all had a good idea for rigging it up and the rest of the team listened to him and did what did what he said it came right out just like he said done good yeah well thanks for coming what do you got to say Ryan it looked worse once we got there I'm glad it came out as well as it did it started right up driving it out yeah just gonna drive home no I thought it was resting against the tree from the picture it did it looked like it was reveled in it were three it was balanced there I can't say enough good things about my team on this job and thanks for watching where'd you get this truck Boulder Mountain on the side of a cliff [Music]
