What Was Malcador's Relationship With Each Primarch Like? | Warhammer 40k Lore

g'day guys and girl malcolor is one of the most underrated and unappreciated characters in the entirety of Warhammer 40K mostly because he was a hooded old man standing next to a literal golden giant God who had more in common with a star than a man but malcolo was the one that ran the Imperium malcolo founded the gray Knights the officio sassonorum the Inquisition the dude even cloned and created an elder human hybrid for a laugh purely because he wanted someone he could unload all his secrets and thoughts onto needless to say that Elder human hybrid would go on to commit suicide hundreds of times due to the burden of malcolor's knowledge being placed upon Him each time being recloned by malcador so yeah malcolor was a pretty nutty character but we aren't here today to talk about how much of a [ __ ] beast malcolor is we're here to talk about his relationship with each of the primarks ranging from hostile all the way to fatherly and lovely after all if the emperor was their father then he was their Uncle before we get started I have something very exciting coming that I'll reveal on Friday that goes live this coming Monday I don't want to give too much away but basically we're introducing the first ever entire major mini Army a collection featuring over 30 models with multiple unit types all professionally scaled and printed to tabletop standard it's Japanese themed very sci-fi and will seem very familiar I'll pin any comment that guesses what army it is correctly since it will proxy as a faction that currently exists in the law but doesn't really have dedicated tabletop models today we'll go over malcolor's relationship with each of the primarks to see who hated him who was a stranger to him and who loved him let's get into it malcolo was the emperor's second in command which netted him respect from some primarks but jealousy from others sometimes a Primark would vent the frustration they felt towards the emperor at malkador as he was a frail old man whereas the emperor wouldn't take [ __ ] from anybody every Primark either consciously or unconsciously would Lord their physical superiority over malcolor this could take the form of a particularly strong handshake from gillymen or Vulcan picking him up for a hug at its worst this manifested as a Primark physically assaulting malkador it's an important point to make as despite how diverse malcolor's relationship with each Primark was they all felt that Pang of jealousy that he was above them and sat by the empress side trusted in all things where they were not hence that jealousy was why even the best of them would try Flex on him kicking us off with the lion the lion was a distant secretive figure that never really got close to anyone he was the only Primark to truly unnerve malcador and be somewhat awe-inspiring but more so as an apex predator rather than an admired or beloved Son because of this malcolor question Alliance loyalty during the heresy and wasn't sure which side he would see him on this is one of those cases where the line was much more the empress son than malcolor's nephew having a lot more in common with the master of mankind overall we just really didn't see enough of them together to know for sure but I imagine there would have been some mutual respect considering how [ __ ] sneaky they both were the second Primark probably didn't have the best relationship with malcolor since he was annihilated due to orders that came from malcolor and malcolor removed his statue fulgrim and malcolor didn't really share much screen time during the Great Crusade and Horus heresy but I can't imagine they would have gotten along malcolo would have seen fullgram's potential but also he's buried insecurities and desire to be better than everyone else fulgrim would have been very jealous of malcolor's position as the emperor's second and also would have looked down upon the small withered and an aesthetic old man I really just don't see them getting along perturabo and malcolo also didn't share much time together but I can imagine perty would have been bitter at malcolor since he was bitter at everyone whilst malcolor would have actually quite liked perty due to how effective a tour the Lord of iron was although malcolor did get a personal attachment to some primarks he also did see their value in how they could serve the Imperium purty been an uncomplaining Siege master who took on and conquered the most grueling sieges in the Galaxy would have netted him a lot of brownie points with malcolor even if the rest of the Imperium didn't seem to give a [ __ ] the Khan had an interesting Dynamic with malcador the Khan loved and protected Humanity but he saw the Emperor as a hypocritical Tyrant but also understood the importance of the Imperium when the emperor in the Khan met it was actually quite awkward because the Khan saw through the [ __ ] and the emperor knew he saw through it so malcolo had to act as a bit of a mediator between the two in order to get jagadai on board overall malcolor quite liked the Khan and his Humanity although the Khan did make malcolor quite uncertain a state of being that malcolor didn't enjoy in return the Khan also didn't really trust malkador and was quite shocked and put off by him when malcolor forced choked Horus for being an uppity little [ __ ] it does appear that malcolor is responsible for Reviving The Khan after his legendary duel with mortarion so I assume their relationship is pretty solid by the time malcolor Bites the Dust quite literally surprisingly malcolor and Lehman Russ's relationship was amazing easily the best out of all the primarks Lehman saw malcolor as his true father not the emperor and they shared it incredibly close bond this does seem a bit off after all malcolor is a psycho who excels in deception manipulation and subterfuge whilst Lehman is a big ax that chops and hacks and makes a mess but both men are very perceptive and understand that beneath malcolo's schemes he is a man trying to do everything he can to preserve and protect Mankind and underneath Lehman's acts is a man doing the exact same thing Lehman remarks that he knows he is appointed makro's game but doesn't mind as he wants malcolor to win Lehman even goes as far to say that the emperor should have listened to malcolor more their interactions are always very heartwarming with genuine banter that is rare amongst the usually highly strung and sensitive primarks Dawn and malcolor had a good relationship with a lot of mutual respect but they didn't get along particularly well Dawn despise malcolo's clandestine methods even going so far as to expose these assassins guild malcolor didn't like how rigid Dawn was when it came to war and his refusal to use every tool at his disposal despite this malcolor told Dawn that out of all the primarks he admired him the most probably because he didn't use every tool at his disposal and wanted to maintain his Integrity Dawn might seem like a cold-hearted bastard but he was genuinely devastated when he had to dismantle all the beauty and art of the Imperial Palace and turn it into an ugly Mega Fortress that human side of him would have deeply resonated with malkador malcolor and Conrad didn't really speak much but I wouldn't say they had a particularly wholesome relationship Conrad considered malcolor a mass killer no better than himself malcolor probably pitied Conrad and his degenerating mind but he also would have been one of the few people who appreciated the fact that terrifying a populist into submission by skinning 100 babies is actually much less destructive than orbitably bombing a world into submission but yeah not really much else to say here really on the flip side mount Goodall had a great relationship with sanguineous probably the second best behind Lehman sengurius also saw malcolo for who he truly was a man who would do anything to realize Mankind's dream in the Galaxy sangunis would often call malcolor Uncle Mal in front of others like during mission briefings in saying that though we don't get the same level of interaction and screen time that Russ and malcolor had but it's easy to see that they have spent a lot of time together and built not just mutual respect but also love Ferris and malcolor's relationship is one of the few that we literally know nothing about thanks to ferris's early demise as well as a lack of screen time for them during the Great Crusade what we do know is that Ferris was another of The Emperor's boys like the lion and spent a lot more time with the master of mankind than malcolor see I don't really know about the relationship but I assume it was borderline non-existent the 11th promark's relationship with malcolor is the same as ferris's meaning I have no [ __ ] clue angron and malcolor didn't have much of a relationship at all angrog just saw him as another oppressive High Rider and malcolo saw angran as a broken toy full of little value as such they steered clear of each other you would have thought that gillymen and malcolor would have had a closer relationship considering their attitude towards Empire building and administration but they didn't actually seem to be that close during the heresy malcolor heard about Imperium secundus and was happy that the line was going to investigate and potentially even destroy gilliman if secundus raped of ambition and selfishness whilst they seem to respect each other and talk about each other in a positive light most of the time we just never really see much of them together so they appear to be respected colleagues who spend most of their time on opposite ends of the Galaxy hence could never really evolve their relationship much further someone who absolutely hated the [ __ ] out of malcolor was mortarion mortarion felt a lot of resentment towards the emperor due to the emperor being a psycho and killing Morty's evil adoptive father before Morty could hence Morty took that resentment out on malkador even going so far as to grab malcolor by the throat lift him up off the ground and begin choking him it didn't help that malcolor was a powerful psycho something Morty hated but despite despite the choking malcolor refused to use his power and escalate the situation knowing to do so would alienate mortarion even further out of all the primarks mortarion probably hated malcolor the most even before the heresy Magnus and malcolor had an interesting relationship you would think it would have been overly positive due to their shared love of knowledge and initially it was however malcolor noticed magnus's arrogance and dangerous curiosity whilst Magnus believed himself to be superior to malcador this relationship took a fat L after the Council of nicaea however despite that the two were civil enough to play a game of regicide under the Imperial Palace whilst having a conversation this was when Magnus was a demon sure that conversation ended in Magnus [ __ ] blasting malcolor and killing him for a while but the point remains malcolo saw Magnus as valuable but as a tool rather than a nephew Horace and malcolo's relationship was probably the most up and down there was initially they got along really well like a nephew Uncle sort of vibe partially due to Horace being likable but also because Horus wanted everyone to like him so he put in that effort however over time malcolo saw through horus's facade to the Arrogant little [ __ ] beneath this relationship got even worse when Horus tried to say one of the Lost primark's names in front of malcolor to piss off the old man so malcolor forced took the [ __ ] out of him nearly killing Horus to shut him the [ __ ] up after that Horus no longer cared what malcolor thought of him and the two never really got on after that malcolor and lorga had a love-hate relationship lager [ __ ] hated malkador malcolor actually liked Lugar laga was said to look the most like the emperor out of all the primarks which may have played a role however malcolor openly stated that if he could save one Trader Primark it would have been lorgar he regrets how they handled him he regrets monarchia and he regrets his fall in return logger always saw malcolor as a worm a parasite that was latching onto the emperor for clout logger once struck malcolor so hard that the sigilite flew back 20 meters the old man just stood up and dusted himself off but it was a serious hit the kind of struggle that could kill a Space Marine it was this strike that that pissed off the emperor and caused him to bring a psychic SmackDown on logo's entire Legion showing how much the emperor actually cared about Mount kador and how enraged he was that lawga struck him surprisingly Vulcan didn't actually like malcolor due to malcolor's sneakiness you would think with how nice Vulcan was that they would be tight but no in return malcolo did like Vulcan as you know how could you not but he also didn't hold him in that special regard that he reserved for Lehman or Dawn corvis and malcolo were both distant figures so whilst they respected each other they never got close or spent much time together they were both just a bit too serious so neither of them really broke the ice now for a surprising one malcolor and alfarius had a very close relationship as malcolo more or less raised alfarious alfarius was left on terror where the other primarks were whisked away hence malcolor became his mentor on Tudor a big reason why the alpha Legion is so into manipulation and subterfuge is because that is what malcolor taught alfarious if malcol was a warrior first and foremost there's a good chance that the alpha Legion would be more akin to the space rules or iron hands however despite this almost farther sun-like relationship they don't appear particularly warm towards each other like malcolor was with Lehman seeming more like a teacher and pupil
