Ways To Defeat The Oathbreaker Knight Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 9 Early Access

you'll want to move away from Withers shift the sky away not attack around here because if we don't Withers comes along and starts to hurt us now I've put a blur on this guy not because it's part of the main tactics just because it's taken me so many times to record this you might think oh where this has only got one hit point level two smart but he he doesn't take damage well this doesn't take damage he doesn't take any damage and the fight just becomes unending please move this guy away from with us and I'll show you how I use lizelle because she's my strongest character here we're just going to shove him along and he doesn't look back if we shove with us I'll start with Withers but he slowly makes his way back to where he usually stands whereas this guy who's freaking Knights he Withers is just walking back there just just takes it doesn't really care that much she's been around for a while knows that he'll be able to walk back whenever anyway I'll speed up the rest of the shoving right the other thing to make sure of is your character you'll have your Paladin it must be Paladin otherwise this dude isn't going to be here isn't close to Withers I've found just moving the oath breaker night close to the other remaining party members over here is just fine now before we start let's have a look at him shall we level 12 custodian of the Fallen quite a cool title though he is Undead which is interesting and he's got extra attack great weapon fighting particularly high strength in fact most of his stats are fairly High Intelligence is just a turn our proficiency bonus a plus four is going to be hitting you he's only got one extra attack thankfully now one interesting thing that happens here is when you attack the oath breaker knight any party members that aren't in your party become hostile and you're gonna have to fight them as well you can get around that but you have to plan that by not having them in your party or killing them ahead of time I suppose but you know you don't want to take away your options with your party members also make sure you've got all the right spells prepared I've been experimenting in British shadow recently which is why I've got all these crap spells so I'm going to give a spirit Guardians good for boarding just in case she doesn't really need any other spells but you know somebody's really good right right well one thing to point out is he is resistant to necrotic damage some thick wounds isn't the best idea now you might think level 12 is way higher than level five but honestly it's not that hard 192 hit points is a fair few and he's got an armor class of 18 not the lowest not easiest to hit but this this kind of demonstrates one of the problems dungeon Masters sometimes have playing Dungeons and Dragons tabletop in that you have a nice big boss he's level 12. surely he's going to beat all of our characters but he's not action economy here we he only gets two attacks per turn we're gonna get way more and I don't have any particularly special setup here in fact this is going to have the wife actually that great I've broken his oath even he's not even an oath broker so I can't use his to make sure we've got this turned on I don't have any channel oath charges is to use because I've broken my oath I can't use sacred weapon which means his attached here is actually quite low anyway let's make a start I'm not going to prepare anything apart from getting a level two critical hit on the first hit which is lovely the other party members are hostile we are all level five so it's not necessarily unfair or anything wait what's the answer to all problems now they're going to get all their attacks off which uh John my practices hasn't really happened that much this might be quite painful compared to normal starring is a thief he's gonna have this way or could have had two bonus actually this this might take down I don't know quite often it does okay we're good we're good quite a powerful thing there from Will all right now Shadow hot Shadow heart here would used to be the uh can we can't get out of that right shutter heart is actually the Lynch pin for most of this thanks to the laser there's not a bad fighter whatsoever so what we're going to do is take out the two companions first yeah let's use stroke isn't going to do much damage but historian has uncanny Dodge which would have halved damage of any attack that's incoming I've made lizelle a battle master pretty effective especially here can't do anything about that sadly and then can we ah the back right I would usually have hasted the uh Paladin here so we can get many smites off in one go that might have to wait until he's back up I do need to stop the starring from having a turn so we're just going to do something simple magic Missile dude that damage I don't mind if Gail goes down I just need Shadow heart to be alive basically now the reason for having Shadow heart alive is she's got two amazing spells that are going to help you one she has built in yeah this will make the Earth breaker might drop his weapon and interestingly anyone who's even uh down like this and an enemy will drop their weapon or if you've still got the other companions still up and around you Spirit Guardians make sure you choose the radiant one because he's resistant to necrotic damage I'm gonna try for you oh another good option just realized any of these uh even what is it a drop the kids I can't Target Undead sadly sorry take that back but fear works oh I didn't work this time just to see if I can make it work of course from all my practices is working at least one of those two times right [Music] all right let's get thank you that's better and now there's only one of him four of us he's gonna be able to take down two of us maximum in a turn I like our Laser's cowering there we can try and disarm him we're not very likely to make that happen why isn't this working because he's too far away I'm not sure let's try this Horizon doesn't mean I can't take Attack rules I don't know what's happening here I don't this has never happened to me before all right instead can we do anything no let's bring this okay there's our somehow lost her turn he's probably gonna go back down but we'll do what we can while we can see concentrating on purpose yeah okay all right let's go back to normal save what does it save it's a uh probably Constitution saving throw don't think I can make that much worse we'll try Bane I don't have Bane all right let's just press instead and so yeah at this point when you've got four and ones he's passing uh this doesn't have much of a chance I didn't usually use haste on Shadow heart don't need to try particularly hard now I'm just gonna swing because as a paladin we can just use up all of our Sky spots here and down he goes and then we've got to finish off the other two as well otherwise the combat doesn't end hurry up and when you revive them though come back up and you just take a long rest again I want to show you fear so I'm going to go and reload and show you what fear does for us as well so here we are let's go Shadow heart goes first this is good stuff so here here we come thankfully it's still there prepared spells have been a bit messed up for saves there we are weapon drops and I can show you definitively he's got a great sword plus one and now this is very easy I should actually make sure Shadow heart doesn't get hit by anything and yeah I have no problems here at all it does run a bit funny while he's uh feared the hardest part is actually taking up the two companions now ah damn it thankfully Will's almost dead oh yeah starring's always a little bit trickier that says he's going to get an opportunity attack as if that really matters as I did before if you hold it oh did you not use his uh oh that's a bit strange it says took no damage because it was Zero damage but because he didn't take damage he didn't use up his uncanny Dodge that seems a little bit like cheating oh well right let's just get stirring out of here there we are and now I don't even need to be concentrating on fear I'm probably gonna lose concentration if I'm not very careful because I'm on Grease here I would quite like to have had Spirit Guardians yeah so yeah now he's spell casting he's just he's really got no chance trip attack wide trip attack because here now everyone everyone in melee has advantage against him oh is that a miss or we don't know yet oh it was a Miss okay I'm not concentrating on anything let's just go for this oh well it didn't work I'll try again that's what you want to see all right and now we get to use Spirit Guardians of course this is the one that's messed up and didn't turn up in here because when I reloaded I didn't check my spells let's suppose we can use this let's just have some acid and because I he's nearly dead it's fine I don't want to lose concentration while increased or anything I would have cost a taste otherwise it would have caused taste otherwise and that's fine that's really not a problem for us I mean this dude's Nearly Dead got some strange animation glitches here I think because I'm still wielding and it's got both weapons in one hand uh yeah down he goes it's a great sword plus one over there and then finish off the rest in whichever manner you feel fit at level five at least this this isn't really that hard I haven't prepared anything in particular I didn't have Spirit Guardians as I wanted it in this battle here I didn't even get to use haste which is really nice on the Paladin to get all those potentially get all those smites out I didn't even have a subclass for my Paladin here so let me know if you've tried to take on the earth broker what successes you've had
