in shrouded is an incredible new Survival game which at its heart allows you to construct incredible builds thanks to its terrain manipulation and build systems whether you want to build a massive Castle a little farm or a cave base all is possible with the right KN how so today I'll cover the ultimate build guide for enshrouded starting with resources resource production the building system itself and more advanced building tips such as how to build underground so make sure to use this time stamps below and subscribe for more let's get into it so resources finding resources around the world unlocks new recipes whether that's for potions Foods or buildings so starting off you'll want to collect anything new that you can find and there's a lot to play around with at 40 hours in the game I found 19 different types of build blocks from fired brick half Timber and Bone blocks to copper and the regular stone blocks there are also some more build items I've yet to unlock which are unlocked through through completing quests but as far as I can tell there's no reason to choose one over another when it comes to creating your builds as our settlements don't get attacked though with in shrouded being in Early Access that may change or perhaps I haven't got there yet when it comes to the actual building though you'll find that you're going to need a lot of resources and though it's tempting to swing your battle axe at trees you'll find it inefficient versus the following firstly you can dismantle some buildable for quick logs this is great at the very beginning but really you'll want a felling axe as soon as possible the first can be built in the manual crafting menu costing four Twigs one stone and one string really simple really easy to unlock this does extra damage against trees and the Shroud routs and then later on you'll find that you can unlock new fing axes at the blacksmith now I know wood buildables aren't for everyone so if you are wanting to do anything with stone brick um various other materials like copper then you're going to want to collect them using a pickaxe rather than trying to find them scattered around the world this is going to be the quickest way that you can do this and it's similar to the first fing axe that you have access to will be using the same materials and then the other unlocks later in the game such as copper or the scrappy pickaxe can be produced at the blacksmith another way in which you can get resources quickly is by disassembling build pieces that are in use around the world so if you place an altar in a town you can start to take those build pieces for yourself if you haven't unlocked the recipe you'll just gained some of the base pieces such as stone or dirt however if you do know their recipes then you'll actually get those block types for you for free now to do this effectively I recommend using the biggest 2 m box rather than a single meter one so that you're not clicking as much now for your first house you can create it using wood it's probably the quickest way in which you can get setup in game but do play around with different materials that you find personally I love the half Timber blocks that can be produced mixing wood with clay and then placing them on top of stone or refined wood and also as you get further into the game you'll unlock more advanced crafting tables and items that allow you to slowly produce items over time now you're going to need a minimum of one of these placed down in order to proceed with quests but I recommend if you're using lots of items um such as if you're on a dedicated server with friends then make sure to produce more of these crafted items so that you can speed up your production and speaking of dedicated servers we are actually partnered with low.ms so if you'd like to try out running your own server for your friends so that you can play any time you want then make sure to check out my link in the description below doing so will help support the channel and allow me to produce more enshrouded content and if you do use my code total eclipse at checkout you'll get an extra 20% off your first month moving on to the building itself the build system is pretty simple in ouders by producing a flame alter and placing it you'll lock the area as your base this means that any terraforming that's done there will be saved as you'll find that the world changes that you make are reset upon closing and reopening the game although this may be different if you're running a dedicated server I haven't experimented with that so do let me know if you are using one in the comments below now once a flame alter has been placed it will allow you to build within the Flames parameters which can be seen by the orange visual box this build range can also be expanded by upgrading your altar which can be done by feeding shroud cores to it along with strengthening your flame which you will need to do to unlock more advanced areas and resources anyway and it will also allow you to build more Alters which means more bases to build and teleport to now to start building first we need to build blocks from the base items in the workbench and with those items in your backpack you can use a building Hammer to produce the said build pieces so to start the build mode have the hammer in your hand and press tab this activates the building system from here here you can select the piece that you want to to be using by pressing and holding alt to select which line of the build pieces you want and then use the mouse wheel on PC to scroll through them you can then Place items by left clicking and you can press R to change the rotation now unfortunately you cannot rotate off the world grid as far as I can tell however you can place build Pieces away from the edge of snapping points by pressing X this will then allow you to snap to the single Cube grid rather than the 4 M or 2 m that you have selected now once this mode is activated or deactivated I should say you can rotate furniture with a few more snapping points by holding R and scrolling with the mouse wheel on PC and when it comes to building roof pieces I do recommend either using the snapping mode or building scaffolding around your base to help you reach the higher up areas as it can be quite finicky to do you can also hold down q and use the mouse wheel to shift the pieces back and forwards whilst building this will help get the pieces in the perfect position though they will rise and fall slightly as you shift them back and forth according to your perspective so do be aware of that though this build system will serve 90% of players you can actually have a whole lot more control over your building by placing your build block pieces in the hot bar and selecting them this will allow you to place the build pieces one voxal piece at a time giving you much more control over your build however it is important to note that sometimes you will not be able to snap build pieces individually to the floor I'm not sure why I think this is a bug but if this happens you can use a pillar piece to snap it into the spot and then just remove the pieces that are um rring outwards alternatively you can access the single meter pieces in the build Hammer at the top of the build section as well and this works for both the build pieces the roof pieces and the terrain pieces now a great feature of the build system is if something isn't quite right you can undo your previous build piece by clicking YMC this immediately removes it making it so much more easier to experiment and play around with your own designs and speaking of which I'll be covering Advanced build designs in a later video so subscribe for more now there some more advanced tips when it comes to building now I highly recommend when building that you flatten the terrain first using a rake this will make building more straightforward as you won't have to battle with different terrain levels also you can build a road in your base to ensure that you get a stamina and speed boost running around I haven't yet unlocked the dirt roads as a craftable item but you can dig the dirt roads up around the map and then place them using the build Hammer within your base if you are looking to make a really simple but cool looking early game house use depth and layering to add detail I like to start off with stone foundations and then add a curtain of stone around the outside we can then follow this up with wooden walls I'll then layer another material in the support areas such as stone or another wood to frame the build better before adding a roof and if peaked I'll even layer the facing wall with a complimentary build piece it's a really quick and easy way to make any build stand out more than a basic Shack and you can do it with even the basic build pieces also try to maximize your comfort rating inside your base it calculates the outposts Total Comfort level rather than individual buildings in that area a higher Comfort rating will increase your stamina and stamina regen which is really important when going into the higher level areas of the world I'm sure also a lot of people want to build underground whether that's Mountain fortresses or little Hobbit holes or dungeons this can be done either by placing the flame outside and digging inside of the cliff make sure to expand your flame so that you're able to build as much into the cliff side as you like or you can dig out the cliff side first and then place your altar inside however you'll have to make sure that you have enough space as occasionally I found it not letting me do this also be aware if you're not on a dedicated server when you do log out of the game any digging that is outside of the base parameters will be filled in and finally just a little wish for the build system I would love to be able to use the building blocks that are placed inside magical chests like you can do for crafting as if they were in my inventory but who knows they might might bring that at a later stage but I do hope that you found this video helpful if so please do hit the thumbs up and if you're looking for more tips check out this enshrouded video next special thanks does go to all of our amazing supporters on patreon most notably our solo clip patrons James Irwin and fire fles as well as our Lunas the Calamity Ben and star and our blood moon of the day which today is Jenny until next time as always ciao for now
