lord hallelujah god is so good they can meet you i love you you sing oh my god just touched my soul oh god it's so good well i'd like to honor celebrate the sins today i'm almost a senior i'm 54 years old 55 but that's senior scot status 55 is my senior status i'm on my way but anyway it's good to see all of you all today that make up i get i had that i got something else now but anyway well yeah i'm glad it's glad i'm glad to see everyone in here in today that make up this congregation and those that are on via zoom facebook so glad that you are out there tuning in to our seniors day all right like to say that i congratulate you i honor you because of you because of who you are today and so many people's lives um your love your caring your listening these are to all the four women uh me mama mary b jones mama lb hampton mama virginia st norris thank you juanita craig and two mama glad it's fair thank you brother um i just say i love you all and keep on doing what you're doing keep on walking by faith and not by sight and keep on loving and caring for people and those that are around you outside the church against that church as well and now i'm giving up to pastor phelps to do the man listen i want to we actually are blessed because we have at least four of the men that we're going to honor today here with us so when i call your name i want you to come down i want to invite uh yes brother arthur cleveland to come down deacon marries thomas to come down and in his absence he will probably be looking uh brother alexander hobbes to come down and last but certainly not least minister leo england won't you come on down come on we want to honor these men come on let's give god some praise for them [Applause] now now it's it's important that we always celebrate we need to make a point to always celebrate our men as well as our women amen and so and so brother cleveland he's a one of those um stealth kind of men he he he flies under cover uh he's here he's always here but he's very quiet you know you see him then you don't he comes in and then mr hospitality all right now his brother maurice thomas and last but not least i want to call him just faithful come on let's give it up for these men won't you well let's just honor them and celebrate them let's celebrate the women too come on let's give god now i turn it back over to the hand of minister ames as we celebrate all of the seniors that are there and especially those that are watching via zoom or the world wide web but thank you so much for your service thank you so much for your listen we we stand church well i just want to just say that um that i love you and i'm going to congratulate you for being again i'm going to say being who you are of the concord mb church you are the pillar a pillar or pillar of this church you be i don't know how long you've been here i've only been like 13 14 but i know a lot of you i was here before i was but um i just want to say that thank you all for listening to us younger people today i want to just want to thank i want to single one out mama fair she always listening and ella she always listened to she she got a listener too you know but i just want to sing those two out because they are listeners they i know just by being around ella being around fannie they loving they're caring you know and everybody here that holds a senior uh place or position in the church all of you are loving and caring and all you all of you listen to and i want to thank you honor your celebration and i love you take care amen we have something for everybody that is a senior but is coming and forthcoming and so by the end of the service hopefully those gifts will be here but all of the seniors that are 60 and and older are on the back and so we celebrate all of we can't just listen to or read god's word we must do what it says otherwise we're only fooling ourselves for it isn't the application of god's word that our lives will be changed so lord grant us the courage and the discipline to do what your word says we declare and decree we would never be the same in jesus name now if you have your bibles with you whether it's in your application electronic or written i want you to turn with us to the book of psalms the book of hymns poems and prayers and i want to focus our attention on one verse is the 37th psalm verse number 25. psalms 37 verse number 25 psalms 37 verse 25 it's good to see all of our visitors and our singers and even some of the members who we have not seen in a long time psalms 37 25 says this i was once young but now i'm old yet i have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread for a few moments i simply won't talk from this thought i've got a testimony turn to somebody and say i have a testimony [Music] now now go on unless we talk to each other can we conversate tell them say seriously i don't look like what i've been through is that anybody's testimony today i don't look like what i've been through i have a testimony you have a testimony we all have a testimony hallelujah now if you believe that let's give god a praise in this place i don't look like what i've been through deacon mitchell it it never ceases to amaze me how even when you don't feel like it god uses you um i wanna i wanna just take a moment to encourage you today yeah um the interesting thing about gospel music the most powerful thing about gospel music is the gospel the good news the the lyrical content the last song that was presented really was the testimony and i think if we really all all reflect on it um we could all sing it um i've had some good days oh it ain't always been bad but i've had some good days i've had some hills to climb uh don't don't don't get so caught up in you know the chords or the or the the the rhythm but let's talk about the lyrics for a second i've had some some weary days and some lonely nights but when i look around no you started it [Laughter] and i began to think i began to contemplate i began to reflect back oh go ahead let's just take a moment to count them all of your good days will outweigh your bad days and so with that same contemplation i will reserve the right not to complain why because when i think about it god has been good to me he's been good to me that's my testimony and what does he do he he he drives all of the tears away and he turns your midnight are you with me bobby in today so i i won't complain lord have mercy oh part two sometimes my clouds hang low and i can hardly see the road i ask the question lord are you listening russell why so much pain but he knows god knows omniscient he knows what's best for me and although my weary eyes oh lord have mercy y'all better hope i don't preach it like i feel it cannot see i'll just say thank you lord i will why because after cleveland god's been good to me he's been so good to me better than this world could ever be he's been so good he's been so good he's been so good to me what did he do he drives all my tears away and he turns all of my midnights in today so i'll just say thank you lord i won't i can't i refuse to complain because i was once young and now i'm old and i've never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread you see our text this morning is is is the testimony of a seasoned saint it's a testimony of king david many years ago we used to have what's called a testimony service you know they would be a combination of of of song and test test to testify you know i believe i testify lord while i have a chance believe i testify while i have a chance believe i testify while i have a chance cause i may not have this chance anymore and then somebody like kim would say first give an honor to god who's the head of my life got to mess with his baby just a little bit but but we have these testimonies right it may seem scripted or whatever but that was our experience you see in these it would be a time doing a worship service where the saints would testify and they would tell of the goodness of god how he healed them how he delivered them how he fed them how he he made a way out of no way and how he he saved them you see testimony service was designed to lift up the name of god and if if done right it would encourage the leaders it would encourage the listeners it would encourage those that were were down and out it would it would lift up their their heads because because you see you see because they firmly believed that it it it was no secret what god can do for what he has done for others he'll do it for you you see with his arms wide open he will pardon you for there is no secret are you listening cozy to what god can do oh and guess what although we don't testify like we used to although we don't take time and opportunities doing the worship service like we used to although we don't brag on god like we used to god is still healing he's still delivering he's still feeding he's still making a way out of nowhere he's still saving he's still picking up turning around and putting one's feet on solid grounds he's still he's still he's still uh he's still bringing us up out of the muck and the mire and the cl he's still doing great things for you by show of hands how many has the lord healed how many has the lord failed has he has he fed anybody has he delivered anybody has he saved anybody has he made a way you see if he did it before turn to somebody and say he'll do it again he'll do it again he'll do it again somebody just needs to just look towards heaven and say do it again god the bible says that i was once young but now i'm whole and i've never seen righteous forsaken in their seeds but i was once young see this is a message for the both the young and the old you see i was once young and now i'm old these are are not the words of a novice you see david is no neophyte he he he he is an experienced man he's an experienced psalmist he's an experienced warrior he's a experienced king he's an experienced man of god and david has seen the fullness of life he's tasted the bitter and the sweet he's experienced both pleasures and pains and david can provide expert testimony concerning the faithfulness of our god you see through everything that david faced through through through being attacked by saul through being betrayed by his family members who being stabbed in his back by his own son are you listening to me david david david david face whether good or bad god never left or forsake even though david took uriah's wife god never turned his back on they've never forsaken him the word forsake in the hebrew it means a sense of abandonment are you listening to me it means to abandon it means to leave someone who is depending on you to leave someone alone with the problem or predicament that you started you created and david's testimony is after all the mess i did all of the stuff i started all of the pettiness i did oh david david was a petty brother petty petty petty listen after all of that stuff god never left nor forsaken god never abandoned him and so his testimony was i was once young and now i'm old haven't been perfect but i've never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread david is basically saying this god provides for his people hallelujah oh turn to somebody and say god provides god provides in other words in other words another another hebrew word for god is jehovah jireh the god who provides are you listening god provides for his people jamie not only does he provide but he cares and he takes care of us oh oh oh oh asthma i know you are long way from home but even a long way from home god cares for you and he provides bet you've never missed a day eating god cares and he provides and you don't have to sleep on the street god cares and god are y'all listening to me and he provides for his people and that's why that's why in the gospels it said so therefore take no thought for the moral for the moral shall take thought of the things of itself sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof and i don't know who i stand or who's here today who stand in thee but as i get ready to close this message and take my seat you need to understand that that god told me to tell you that he got you so moriah be not dismayed whatever be tied god will take care of you beneath his wings of love abide god will take care of you god will take care of you through every day come with me he will he will take care of you won't he do it won't he do it won't he do it say yeah is there any seasoned saints here uh and let me just tell you this season season saints don't only mean old but but guess what season saint can be a salty saint you know one when i say salty what i'm saying is is someone that god has touched and that and that god has his hand on because anything that god touches he seasons are you listening to me today anything that god touches he seasons in other words he impacts he affects in a in a powerful and a profound way you see and if you're still here that literally means that you have seen a lot that means you've been through a lot and turn to somebody and say i don't look like what i've been through you see if you still here it's because you've made it i'm talking about you've made it through ups and downs you amaze it you've you've been preserved you've been you've been you've survived and the truth of the matter is that you never would have made it if it had not been for the lord who was on your side oh i know you think you're smart i know you think you're intelligent i know you think you got it all together but let me tell you something everything that you have is because god gave it to you your intelligence god gave it to you your talent god gave it to you your ability to sing god gave it to you your ability to play god gave it to you whatever it is listen you couldn't even get up this morning if it had not been for the lord who was on your side and that's good news that's encouraging you see my brothers and sisters you might have even been going through something you might be going through something right now but if you can just testify to your fears oh i'll say it again if you can just testify to your fears and testify to your doubts testify to your worries you got to learn how to to to testify to your fears your doubts and your worries you got to learn the power of the not seen oh it's right there the text david says he says i was once young but now i'm old but i have not seen you see i have never seen you see the things that most most terrifies us is the stuff we can't see it's the unknown it's the uncertainty can i get a witness here it's the things it's the things and even i i tell you all the time that 95 of the things you worry about never becomes a reality but it's the not seen that causes us a problem and david says he says that the things that he's never seen he says i've never seen the righteous forsaken nor their seed begged for bread so what we need to learn to do is to align my brothers and sisters you need to learn to align our faith right here in terms of the word for the word says now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things what i got some bible readers here so i don't know what you're going through but maybe you just may need to be encouraged and just just go ahead and encourage one another say if this is your testimony now not the person you've been talking to all day not the person you even came with but just turn to somebody and say neighbor old neighbor just turn to somebody and say neighbor old neighbor i don't know what you're going through but can i testify to you today be encouraging because i was once young but now i'm old and i've never seen the righteous forsaken nor seed bacon bread turn to somebody and say i don't know what you're going through but can i tell you that our god is faithful tell my god is faithful you see i've been through and i've seen too much hey you see i have had some good days and i've had some bad days i've had some weary nights and i've had some days hallelujah but when i look around and i begin to think things over all of my good days outweigh my bad days so i won't complain i won't complain standing your feet and just get an attitude and say god's been good to me god's been good to me and when i look back over my life and i begin to think things over i can truly say that god has blessed me i got a testimony sometimes i could not see my way through but the lord he brought me out as i get ready to take my seat hallelujah right now i'm free i got the victory i got a testimony yes i got a testimony if you got a testimony that god's been good to you put your hands together and give him some praise come on praise him give him some gratitude hallelujah and say thank you lord thank you lord thank you lord thank you lord thank you lord thank you lord for all you've done for me could have been me outdoors with no food or no clothes all alone without a friend or just another number with a tragic end but he didn't see fit to let none of these things be i can tell by your power that you keep on blessing me so i just gotta say thank you lord for all thank you lord for all thank you lord yes sir yes sir yes sir thank you lord i gotta go y'all open up your mob sing with me thank you lord for all you john for me come on just give god some gratitude yes in your own way in your own tongue however just give him some grace come on come on let's just the next 30 seconds let's give god some praise fundraisers now for senior day thank you those that baked homemade goods guess what y'all ain't my ain't no secret i bought a whole cake and i bought a whole pie oops and ate ate the pie by myself
