seriously though...
For J.J. Abrams, any screen time not devoted to running, chasing, shooting, lightsaber swinging, or exploding is wasted. Major plot points are decided quickly and acted on without hesitation or planning. It was even at the point where major events were present by someone offscreen shouting βsomething important just happened!β while everyone else is shooting stuff.
So accurate, I hated all the fake deaths took away all the impact of the real ones.
I think the part were Chewie gets a medal was symbolic for how heavily this movie leans on nostalgia and how desperately JJ was trying to please certain parts of the fanbase. You could almost hear him yelling see he finally got his damm medal what else do you people want?
Also with how hard they brushed off Rose I'm surprised they didn't have her die off screen like Poochie in the Simpsons.
"He's just the cutest little merchandising opportunity."
Baby Yoda: "Hold my bone broth."
That pointing the dagger at this specific spot of a blown up death star slowly eroding into the sea was the point that I %100 exited from this whole trilogy.
Are we even pretending anymore...
So there's no scene where Luke wakes up and it turns out the last 10 years was all a dream but he has to get up because it's jaja's funeral today?
Shame.
What the studios fail to recognize is that the fandom doesnt want a rehash of the movies that were already created--they want a new story. The whole Disney trilogy is exactly a tired rework of the Original Trilogy.
Fortnite!? How much did they pay you to ruin Star Wars JJ?
