hello fellow engineers and we're back in poly bridge 2 we're going to be continuing the secret campaign now if you didn't watch the first video to get to this it's a very sneaky little easter egg literally poly bridge 1 remade in poly bridge 2. last time we completed the first 10 levels so today we're going to be starting a low budget bridge but first a quick word from today's sponsor free essentially we just got a fairly heavy dump truck and we've just got to get across bridge we've got a little point down here a little anchor that should help us so what i reckon is we do a bit of that and then i'm going for i'm going for that shape again i'm sorry no not the strongest shape the second strongest shape yep it's the female anatomy bridge again will it hold will it hold yes yes it does it does hold oh i'm surprised by that i wasn't expecting that so as that held so well i'm looking at the budget i'm like we're very close to budget that's pretty poor for an engineer so i'm thinking is there a way to save a lot of cash i'm sort of thinking do we need these two trusses because that's like a lot of wood how much they cost oh my that's almost half the bridge just that's what i'm thinking we don't really need a truss assuming we can get this strong enough i'm sort of thinking if we were to do like that what i've done there i've sort of just made an anchor against the wall so all the weight that comes down onto this bridge will get transferred along this beam and then against the wall here and assuming that goes well i can probably make this middle structure a bit smaller but let's play that let's see if it works i'm a bit worried oh oh plenty okay i wonder then if we move it up one i'm just sticking to the grid for now this is going to put a lot more force down that beam so will that work oh you can see it flexing yeah that's that was a step too far that was yeah but if we go off the grid we can probably go somewhere between okay okay that one's good that one is good and you can see if we turn the grid back on it's slightly higher than it was which means it's cheaper so turn the grid off i'm gonna delete this side and we're gonna just mirror that to the other side all right and then it's just a case of making this smaller and i think the easiest way to do that is bring these two points in so let's have a look at 5343 so if we do that we've saved quite a few hundred quid there whether that will work i don't know oh it is oh did you see the percent that went up to like 98 i swear 99.8 stress okay so yeah i don't think we're gonna get much better than that uh shall we go see where we are in the gallery so about five grand what page are we on oh look we're on the first page we beat that one oh no it's sort of my most recent not budget oops oh but we're still on the first page yeah hey oh wow that's actually good i did well i did a good thing but let's check out these cheap designs look at this one oh that's a bit sneaky that is a bit sneaky that's proper limiting how many road pieces you use and using the rock in the middle but fair play that's clever same stress as mine as well 99.8 but his was created like well over a year ago how do people know about this i i thought this like i thought this map was like new ish i saw the ones around about my price they're like the same design pretty much got a few female anatomy ones nice oh look we've got the male anatomy one there decent speed hacked that is a very strong bridge now let's head to the last page this is where the good stuff is all right what have we got oh this guy went to town so he actually put muscles in his wall anchors a bit overkill there tour we've got this one which sort of raises up for no apparent reason very high stress as well but it is under budget it's fairly and yeah then a like a double a double angular trust with the replay super slow motion look how much more cinematic it is now yes all right so we'll go on to the next level so this is double decker is that a typo or is that actually called that is that even an a what is that that's like a weird letter it's like a long a an a that's been stretched anyway double decker so basically we got to build two bridges let's see how tall if we were to trust it's a three high truss you know so i think can we bring them closer together sort of bring the cost down so let's do a line tool and we'll say from there to there maybe we'll go like that and this time we're going to use a machine gun to fill this in with road so ready here she is all right then we do the same on the top but like a u-shape so like that maybe there you go i got my other gun out ready so stupid right and then we just sort of trust these together and hope it works essentially let's turn the grid off so i'm sort of thinking if we do that sort of thing that should just about reach all the way down here it does nice okay and then we do that make it look a little bit neater i guess we could see if that works i'm i'm not convinced they let's mirror that to the other side is that going to hold oh it's holding sort of it's probably not once again oh is this it held it held that was surprising not gonna lie it's really like under half budget there 15 grand out of 32. i think i can make it cheaper i'm pretty sure i could probably get rid of some of those so now we're under 15 grand ah easy easy can we get rid of some more oh it's working right can we get rid of the i think we need these ones we'll see i'm pretty sure that was holding everything to stop it moving maybe i was wrong yeah i thought so i thought so i think we can get away with just putting one in and not that one all right let's try that let's try i'm not too sure oh oh under 14 grand okay i'm pretty happy with that not gonna lie let's have a look in the gallery sorted by budget what are we thirteen nine five six oh we are well on the first page oh we're actually oh we came 11th we came 11th i'm i'm pretty impressed with that let's see how the top guys did oh look at this that's clever so of course they realized less is more and with this bottom one you don't even you don't need to connect it all the way wood's a lot cheaper than road so just doing that and having the taxi land like that is perfectly acceptable in this world so good work ah yes this one's similar to mine gagiro good gyro uh but they just kept all of the horizontal beams you probably could have got away with some of those i've beaten my school that one you can see the arch at the bottom was a lot steeper so a bit cheaper this one's like mine's the extreme there's a lot of gaps in the bottom oh look at he slowed the car down did you see that cheesy gamer that was a bit of a cheese so if we slow that down can you see look there's a weight in front of the car and it slows it down so it doesn't go fast therefore less force on the bridge all right so this one we've got jewel dangling roads and thankfully you're more expensive than me so serves your right wiz lizard oh this one what the hell that was insane all right so essentially made a really strong bridge that uses tension and rope muscles but then he double-deckered the vehicles that's so cool oh i love that right but let's go to the expensive bridges so what is this one oh god what is this one hang on that's that's a different level how did that get in here what right so this is the most expensive one why just why that's all i'm going to ask oh you are a chad this one we've got a bit of everything we've got a truss over the top we've got some weird shapes in the middle we got tension underneath and we've even got steel so that's why you're quite expensive but your stress was low so that's good right oh look there's another stacking one it's got weight on the front to stop it falling yeah oh nice right anyway let's go to the next level right so this is called double down the idea of this one is there's two mopeds and there's two checkpoints way down there that we've got to get to so i think we'll do the old line trick and we'll say go right down there i know from previous experience you can just like sort of clip the tops i think to fill in this one i'm going to use my remote there you go what do we want what do you want uh that one no not that button not that button that one that's the one there she is right and now it's just a case of building a bridge i'm not gonna lie i'm a bit confused how to do this one i'm sort of thinking it'd be nice if we could do that with wood that's in can we is it worth doing an arch i feel like an arch is a bit too much so we can try doing that we double that to that side and then just connect those together that's eight and a half grand rather than 15 of our budget will it hold i'm not entirely sure that could probably should be a lot smoother curve but i don't know we'll see we'll see it's holding it's only two mopeds oh yeah light yeah nice okay that actually worked i keep being surprised with myself for some reason so if we go to the gallery eight and a half grand oh we're not on the first page we're not even on the second page we're just about on the third page so we're just in the bottom half that means however however to be fair look at the first page it's all bloody dangling roads isn't it and are they engineering are they really engineering i don't even want to watch one they make me feel sick oh i do want to watch this replay though nice very nice bridge all right so the first designs that weren't dangling road identical to mine like look at this one from marty shock basically the same thing so great minds and all that this is the most expensive one so they've done a truss on the top but then supported it underneath with steel like these end trusses you could probably get rid of them completely like just start from there now this one very cool we got like an arch and then it's supporting the road underneath with like cables wooden cables so that's cool this one look at the movement in it so similar shape to mine but they've completely ignored using trusses and triangles and they've just gone for squares so you can see like how much movement there is in that bridge i feel like that's sort of a glorified dangling road uh very interestingly but uh let's go to the next level so this is called there and back again okay so i think it's just a simple sort of drawbridge level where you've got to get two vehicles across and then they turn around and come back or at least one comes back so i think they both go at the same time the first one stays there the second one comes back but we have this big old boat thing in the way so i guess to start we'll do that okay so what's the most sensible way doing this i'm sort of thinking if we put a hydraulic there 50 so that's gonna go right let's see i'm not entirely sure if this will work let's firstly see if that will hold easily easily okay so now i want to put a joint in there and i want to make these two elements twos and there one so that will disconnect and then this hydraulic will expand so hopefully that whole bridge will go up and the reason i've done it this way is because i wanted to reduce the number of hydraulics i used your only question is will that go high enough oh it's going to be tight oh no a bit too tight i love that it's like five speed boats stacked on top of each other and as you can see here this guy no concept of actually looking out his windscreen idiot okay so the good news is that will work and it will work with these being smaller as well i'm thinking maybe if we hydraulic to there that could go even higher it's just we've got smaller trusses are they strong enough yes they are so is that high enough now oh it's tight bollocks which means we have to go off the grid and we can move well we can move it up and left we can't really go left anymore although we could if we do that actually how about that as long as we have the strength yeah we still got the strength easily all right that's gotta be higher ah easy easy so yeah back down and sorted and yeah this level so you can see there was five speed boats that's because the size of the ship that passed under here in the original game isn't available in polybridge t so attention to detail it's really cool because they've actually gone to town and made the poly bridge one levels work in this game like exactly yeah okay 5800 was our budget let's go have a look in the gallery how we did looks like we're we're in the top half so i'll take that so if we have a look at the cheap ones you can see the solution here was to not use hydraulics the classic up and over and that's a really cheap bridge design like there's hardly any pieces no wonder your budget was under 4 000 insane yes this page they're all pretty much the same design now the cheapest different one is this so this has a hydraulic in it oh and it goes down yeah so if you go down and under the boats it's a lot cheaper nice that's very clever chief boy and then we've got ones like this which are just a more efficiently placed hydraulic so with a tiny hydraulic length you get the same overall movement of the bridge they're pretty clever probably should have thought of that one myself oh look at this one we got suspension using the upper anchors on these walls here and using wood as rope that's cool i like that i like that one i'm intrigued by this it's not very many pieces but it is oh nice that is tight as well but yeah two hydraulics so i was only just cheaper than mine even though it used a lot less pieces yeah this one only four that's cool only four pieces but because the hydraulics are so long actually more expensive than my one all right this is the most expensive design what do we have it looks cool i'll give it that i can see oh what was that what was that okay that's pretty cool sort of over engineered design nice decent fair play and what's this one there's a lot of structure on this one oh it's gonna lift the entire truss straight up vertically so yeah that's cool but very very expensive all right so this one by twisted shadow it's like a looks like a butterfly and the butterfly gets ripped in half and then stuck back together that's very very aesthetically pleasing design that one nice on to the next level oh no okay this could be painful this one is called oh god oh god so as you can see here both the cars go at the same time yeah we've only got eight pieces of road so i don't i don't really know what happens does do i need to do anything clever i'm pretty sure i can just think we can get away without any hydraulics as long as we can fit under there maybe if we go back a bit right if we do that will that hold that might not hold but they both stop and then ah so close why did you do that all right if we if we extend that a bit as long as that car can get under we just need this one to land on his wheels ready yes i chased it no need for hydraulics so we were well under budget there because we didn't use hydraulics so 4420 not the best when you look at these 1100 quid what all right let's watch this what the okay let's watch that again what the hell happened to that one i think that's a glitch okay so the top solution really cool you can see there's a joint in there and it actually detaches and then makes like a swing so that's cool the bottom one i'm pretty sure that's a glitch so not happy with that and as usual looks like all the top people have copied each other until maybe this one mine cat we know mine cat from the discord server oh look he did a double swing let's play that again you can see they both get on to their checkpoints and then it swings them over that's really cool i like that one that must have taken a lot of fiddling though uh what's this one like it looks pretty similar but less of a swing yes the bottom one doesn't swing he just falls to his doom now we got this one which is basically mine but like the super uber cheap way of doing it it seems like i wasn't alone a lot of people sort of did the solution i did but very very cheap like way cheaper than i did anyway shall we go to the last page page 15 oh boy oh boy okay so i'm looking at this one i'm just it's like a norton crosses board yeah okay just completely over engineered but uh same method no hydraulics in that one that's cool this is the most expensive one rhys nailer there's a lot of hydraulic going oh you actually did an elevator like you're supposed to oh so that's probably closer to the intended solution because it actually is an elevator granted quite a big one uh this one how's this gonna work i assume that top one elevators down yeah look not to the right level though just somewhere close that's good enough this top one massive hydraulics but a double elevator nice didn't lock in though it would have been better if it locked in all right what is going on with this like all these look pretty similar you can see the they've all got like a middle elevator thing but this one what is going on here so it goes over there oh god the road just flops onto that car underneath why anyway we've now completed the first world of polybridge one in polybridge 2. so we'll go on to world 2 because the first one is called wooden hybrid which sounds pretty incredible i'm not gonna lie so let's have a look we've got a 48 grand budget and we've got a massive span that's really high up this is going to be fun yeah so we're going to do straight line tool across oh we know you know we're gonna do we're gonna do a curve and we're gonna go like that i reckon and this time our friend the ak-47 is gonna fill in the road for us so have some of that right and now it's just a case of going mental and are building a wooden truss so what i'm thinking if we sort of build some sort of platform i'm gonna do it to grid actually and then if i can get away with it i'm gonna try and do another arch like from there over to there somewhere so yeah let's fill that in with wood and we'll do similar over here this one maybe we'll go on top for this one fill that in okay turn the grid off and then let's start filling in so these bits are all easy to trust then it gets a bit more complicated okay so that could work then what about over here we can do do those nice it's just what can we get away with here can we we can't reach over there that's annoying fill in that trust all right let's see it holds itself i'm worried about that gap in the middle will it hold the bus oh it's a lot of force oh so close so we broke we broke about there yeah so pretty much all the weight of this span is sort of going through there ideally i think we want like that sort of thing so i've just added a few more triangles in there that should make it stronger whether it's strong enough different story yes yes looking good nice so on this one our budget was 48 grand we did our design for just 26. and we could even shave this we could make it a lot cheaper but let's see where 26 grand is on the leaderboards oh we're nearly on the first page right let's try and trim i want to get on the first page so 25 can we get to 25 grand first things first i'm going to watch this with the stress turned on and any things that stay green we're gonna try and reduce them so i think we can probably bring these in i think we can bring these up because that's all a lot cheaper and i think maybe we can get rid of that piece let's delete it and see is that strong enough oh yeah it went red but easy maybe can we do the same with that one no that's probably gonna press against there we could actually just force that against there yeah same thing all right nice i think this first span is sort of as efficient as i can make it yeah we can probably reduce this one a bit can we get away with that i don't think so oh so very close actually if we just make that a little bit bigger nice that worked that actually worked okay if we delete that and then try and connect those if that works out so much cheaper that's under 24 grand it worked okay stress off there's our thumbnail love it so we're 23 420 so we're on the first page oh we're well on the first page 23 foot we are we came eighth eighth in the world but let's have a look at the super cheap one so this one whoa this one's very quick trey grieve try grief trey grieve trajeev trajeev uh well it's so quick because you can see the bus struggles to get up there you saw how fast it moves this is like super speed i begin as close to the bottom as possible to limit how much wood you need clever uh r's gone for the female anatomy nice and they're all sort of that shape very clever what's this one oh unholy that is a bit unholy to sort of just a trust the whole way along but with a little almost like a stick holding the middle up you want this one with two sticks dimmer the wife beater okay not sure that's something to be proud of mate intrigued to see the expensive options on this though yes tweaker my god that is a bridge and a half there's so much wood there oh look at this one it looks like a bloody catapult or something like a weird smiley face but they've used tension out of wood wooden tension uh interesting surprise that holds not gonna lie because it looks really like not tight but it seems to work fair play and look at this one we got like a got like a wave like a dinosaur arch nice one enrique now we've got some testicles we've got testicles their strongest bridge does it again i really want to try and build that one 95 grand all right ready
