unto you fathers because ye have known him that is from the beginning i have written unto you young men because you are strong and the word of god abideth in you and you have overcome the wicked one happy sabbath everyone let us pray eternal father we give you thanks that you have spared our lives to see another day lord i ask that you will wash us and you will cleanse us and you will help us to give us give our best to the master as it will continue to guide us continue to strengthen us we put today's program before you and ask that your holy spirit will guide us protect us and lead us we pray in your holy son's name amen happy sabbath everyone thank you so much for joining us here today pathfinders you might ask who are we well we're an organization created to develop young leaders in a very practical sense it's the division of the church meant to guide young people to god's word it also helps them to cultivate the skills necessary for life's many journeys these persons do not have to be affiliated with the seventh-day church however they must agree to abide by the pathfinder pledge allah now pathfinders around the world aim to develop a christ-like character like kindness joy faith self-control love and peace these are things that people should see in you without having to ask what are you doing who are you serving to experience the joy and satisfaction of doing things well and that's just about maintaining high levels of integrity because for me once my name is attached to it i want it to be known that it was done well we also aim to express our love for jesus naturally because forced love is not real love we also want to learn good sportsmanship and strengthen young people's ability to get along with others because teamwork makes the dream work we also want to help them to discover their god-given abilities and learn how to use them to benefit themselves and serve others because everyone has a talent and i encourage you to utilize it and share it so we don't be like that servant in the parable who paid his talents we also want to discover god's world because it's really beautiful out there sun the ocean the mountains the forest the desert it's all out there for us to explore and learn about them and find how that can glorify god we also want to improve their understanding of what makes families strong because a strong family makes a strong community and a stronger nation this program also helps develop parental support for the training of children because involved parents make healthy children healthy adults and overall again a healthy society so many of our pathfinders start as adventurers between the ages of four and nine adventures consist of the busy bees the sun views builders and helping hands each level is passed by learning the required skills like biblical knowledge basket making artistry and even learning empathetic reasoning the group has a strong emphasis on the parent and the child this is a time where parents can really build their relationships with their little ones and this is also an opportunity for young people and parents to enjoy special activities together now as the psychological needs of these children are met parents can grow in their parenting skills and the leadership of their little ones will progress as they understand their relationship with god once these youngsters have completed their studies they may progress to the pathfinder's division and a pathfinder is typically aged 10 to 15. at this stage one may be a friend companion explorer ranger voyager or guide now they would have built on the skills they learned previously in the adventures like accounting water safety skills camping drilling and even more now this all started when different communities of ministry-minded young people started individual clubs that resembled the pathfinders as we know it today over time it grew and it snowballed into the first official club meeting in anaheim california it was directed by john mckim and willisteen from about the late 1920s through the 1930s by 1930 lester and noah martin were chosen as the new co-directors and then later we realized that steam family moved and john king died in 1944 now as the years progressed different clubs were held were both guided by the southeastern california conference and encouraged by the youth director elder guy man and his associate lawrence a skinner but after that there were many years where there were just no clubs by the time 1946 rolled around john h hancock the youth director of the southeastern california conference got the club going in riverside california and john designed the pathfinder triangle emblem and got a ministerial student francis hunt to direct the club both john and his wife hancock taught honors and as you know the honors are like sewing and camping and drilling marching those things by the time 1947 came around southern california conference just began to have pathfinder clubs the first were at glendale with lawrence paulson as director and then by that time central california conference under the direction of youth director henry t burch began their pathfinder program starting 23 clubs in that first year now beginning with the god director program called the pathfinders clubs in california the general conference of the seventh-day adventist church adopted this program in thus 1950 and it became an official worldwide organization of the adventist church and it grew really rapidly now pathfinders is now a global ministry affecting thousands if not millions of young people worldwide [Music] foreign hey all right happy sabbath again everyone we had some interruptions just now with the electricity hat at different houses of persons who are on the platform so we're kicked off a bit we're thanking you that you have decided to stay with us we will continue our program into our lesson study and we have the jacks family we have robin and jordan jack will be giving us our primary lesson study review so for those who may have left the platform we can invite them to join backward on the same link so you can just uh share the link with them so that they may rejoin as we continue the program and again we apologize for the interruption but you know technology happens and i said light and internet went at certain places so robin and jordan will be turning over to you as we continue our lesson review [Music] morning everyone today we'll be doing the primary lesson my name is robin my name is jordan and the lesson is lesson 12 whose side are the message is we can worship our memory verse is do not let your hearts be troubled troubles you believe in god leave also in me that will take it from john 14 verse 1. what was joshua doing joshua was walking joshua was walking and thinking thinking and thinking about um planned plans about the battle and he was worrying about what happened until he got a better view of the jordan river he realized that it was flair and dangerous but the israelites were protecting over the other side of the land what happened after he saw the river after he saw the river he saw this man and he said whose side are you on except a board with the man and who was this man the mind was jesus himself and then god said to him take off your shoes you are on holy ground what what happened after he took off his sandals guys he realized that god had plans already for the battle so god has plans for us so we don't have to be nervous okay and what did you learn from the lesson robin i learned that god keeps the battle god that keeps the plans for the battles for you and what did you learn jordan i said [Music] bye amen want to thank the jacks family for going through the primary lessons study review i know not many persons are back back yet on our youtube platform i'm thinking some would have been affected by the the internet and the light and the electricity i'm going away hopefully that is restored in short order but we we're going to be continuing with our program for this morning and we have danielle bennett will be giving our powerpoint listener review so at this point we will be going over to daniel bennett to do our powerpoint lesson review happy sabbath everyone the topic of this week's study is inside out the poor text is taken from first samuel 16 verse 7 and it reads the lord does not look at the things people look at people got the old word appearance but the lord he looks at the heart oh yes the lord indeed looks at the heart when choosing people for a special service let's take this week's story for an example it started with god telling the prophet samwell that saul was no longer fit to be king fill your horn with oil and be on your way god had commanded i am sending you to jesse of bethlehem i have chosen one of his sons to be king of course someone was cautious and men brought the mission to appoint a new king he will have him killed the lord replied and said take a haifa with you and say i have come to sacrifice to the lord invite jesse to sacrifice and i will show you what to do so someone took a young coal and some oil for the anointing and started the journey as the lord had instructed him upon arrival summer request to see jesse's sons one by one they came by as elia passed before somewhere the prophet heard the lord's voice do not consider his appearance or his height for i have rejected him the lord does not look at the things people look at people look at the outward appearance but the lord he looks at the heart some will then turn his attention to ahmar nadab jesse's second son and the third son shamaha who weren't chosen by god either having seen seven objective sons and not getting any confirmation from god read any of them somewhere knowing that god always knows what he is doing asks him are these all the sons you have there is still the youngest replied jesse he is tending the sheep send for him someone ordered david was very surprised that that our prophet would want to see him however he hastened to meet with him as soon as summer saw david he felt a glimmer of hope the prophet could tell that the youngest brother was strong like his older brothers there was a light in david's eyes that seemed to come from deep within him he were an air of purity innocence courage and kindness somewhere was instructed by god to rise and anoint david which he did david felt deeply moved that god had chosen him a humble shepherd born and the youngest in his family to one day rule the nation of israel his heart was full of joy gratitude and praise to god praise the lord everybody we serve an all-powerful and all-knowing god he knows our name he knows our deeds and he knows our hearts amen amen want to thank daniel for going through that lesser view so creatively and i know those on or on the youtube platform that are still there i'm still aware that some persons are still without electricity but even with that that is god words will still go forth so even when you are right we ask that you pray that the electricity is restored to the areas that are currently without electricity but for those currently on the platform we will continue with the program and the program will continue and of course god's word will go forth so that men and women listening on the platform will be blessed at this time we'll transition over into our adult lesson review and fortunately the person to do our adult lesson review is here his name is jeremy stewart now we're at lesson number 12. i hope you would have studied because i'm depending on your participation this morning as we review our lesson for today for those on the platform who may be visiting and by chance you don't have access to a quarterly you can go online and type in the adult lesson review for the seventh adventist church or you may simply open your bible because we're at lesson number 12 and the book that we're focusing on are the person that we're focusing on is the prophet jonah now many of us are familiar with the jonah story we have been told it's one of the first stories would have been told when were children growing up about a profitable god had instructed to do certain things and jonah decided to do otherwise and pretty much he got swallowed up by a big fish spent some days in the belly of the fish and that was so merciful to him that he was released and he eventually did what god had asked him to do with some reluctance i might say so i'm gonna invite you know to open your quarterlies to listen number 12 i'll be sharing the screen with you so that you are able to follow along and if there are any questions if you have any comments feel free to post such in the chat so as i would have mentioned we're at lesson 12 the restless profit now quickly but those on our youtube platform what does the meaning restless when you hear a restless what what comes to mind give me some of the synonyms that we use for the word restless and you know the topic for this week's quarterly um this week's lesson is the restless prophet so restless what does that mean to you and give me some synonyms and you can post that in the chat but throughout the course of this study for the next 20 minutes or so while i await those responses there are few things that we'll be looking at all right i'm seeing some of the responses yes so sister golden um sister mil daffodil miller sister claudette grant all saying the same thing uh uneasy right she's a nicole brown uh she says abu sabha restless can mean unsettled sister martial earl says tired and yes you are right all of those are synonyms that can be used for the restless prophet and it's interesting that we are looking at a profit that is rest less and i'm seeing some more responses tired no peace for example so just look at what we'll be talking about for our listener review first of all it is impossible to fully rest in christ if you know you're doing something against his will and we will be looking at the jonah story in a bit of detail as we look at how he had this restless feeling or how he was restless because he was doing contrary to the word of god and not only was jonah restless but he was anxious and you can only enjoy resting god when you are doing god's will so if you are doing otherwise and of course you will be restless in the case of jonah you know his rest was up to the point until he was called to preach to his enemies and we will be seeing why this aspect of his life became restless when he's when he was called to preach to his enemies he decided to run away maybe to find some rest to find to release himself of this anxiety and um this uneasiness but there was no running away from that which god called this blue so he didn't find the rest while he was running away actually he found it maybe in the in the in the stomach of the big fish that swallowed them and i get we will be discussing that so throughout the course of our study looking at him restlessly running away in resting in the depths delivering rest not finding rest and later on finding rest now we know that at the beginning of the story and you can open your bible to the book of jonah you can go to chapter one where god gave jonah specific instructions to go to nineveh to preach to them or to warn them that pretty much if they didn't change their way god would punish them what jonah decided to do otherwise so the question i'm asking to those in the chat why did jonah run why did jonah decide to run away from that which god had called him to do and even thinking about that maybe you can look into maybe it's gonna be a lot of introspection because oftentimes we look at jonah's story and say jonah running away from god but it's interesting that many times when god calls us to do to do things we may not like jonah be jumping on a ship to try to get away from god but we tend to do otherwise we tend to do otherwise contrary to that which god had called us for honest with ourselves we can say we're very much guilty so the response from sister grand nineveh was a cruel city and there is no doubt about that so let's look at at jonas um where he lived so he lived in caffeine fur right and if you look to the to the right of your screen um you will be seeing just a general description of where exactly jonah lived which was gas heifer and you will realize that nineveh it's hard to be hard to give a description to how close it was to him but nevi was relatively close compared to where jonah decided to go as a matter of fact jonah went the total opposite of where god called him to go jonah with the total opposition i'm seeing the responses in the chat why jonah decided to run first of all jonah had history by the children of israel and israel and history with the persons of nineveh and we would have studied the quarterly um and and read um second kings to see that history basically the ninevites our part of uh a particular sort of person that would have would have attacked israel at some point so they were basically enemies and here was god asking we're not even asking telling jonah to present a message to deliver a message to these same persons and so i must have been saying to myself them then my swear enemies these are the persons that i should witness to so that was one of the reasons because they were his enemies why would he go um why would you do that someone in the chat um ella thompson says self preservation of course maybe jonah again knowing that these were his mortal enemies probably felt a bit of fear you know thinking that you know i i prefer to save myself than go up against these persons who may if they um listen to the message that i speak may decide to hurt me so he decided to maybe preserve himself by going totally opposite to where god had asked him so some other thing that we looked at he panicked and we spoke about that how could he preach to his enemies um would they wouldn't they react violently and we spoke of self preservation just now and it's interesting there's another question in the in on the slide so what if god forgive the universe he would look like a lion prophet bear mind that this was a message um that that of of basically destruction will come upon you jonah and jonah would not have known i guess in hindsight what would have happened but he was looking at himself then if they decide to to confess are they our god decide to forgive them he would look like a lion prophet preaching um destruction when when god that is not god's messiah so he decided to make his own judgment on the person of israel and he should run away well thought that you could run away from god and again sometimes we look at jonah's story and say tuna run away from god no because we cannot truly run you know even david said wherever you are wherever i go you are there with me and it just spoke to how restless he was um sometimes in when we're doing contrary to what god says you know we do some irrational things and it's here to say that jonah decided to run to go to the opposite of where god asked him to do this was an irrational thinking jonah wasn't in his right sense basically that's why i decided to do con um to to flee to to charges and as far away as from the minivirus as possible he may have probably even thought that maybe if i run away in that direction that god probably asked somebody else to do it but as as we will soon find out god give the instruction god expects that it would um that that he would follow suit another another takeaway from from this point of running away and in terms of jonah casting his own judgment on the person is that sometimes our own personal prejudices um get in the way of doing god's work sometimes god asks us to do some things and because we have our own personal prejudices or our biases you know we may feel that oh this person is not he's not worthy of hearing god's word um i personally don't have a relationship with this person or this person has been cruel to me all my life and so when god gives us instruction we decide to do otherwise but as we quickly find out what that once god gives you instruction he expects that it is followed we should not allow our personal prejudices to develop us from doing what god has asked us to do so we know in the end are as we go throughout the store we know what happened to jonah right he went on on the ship of course there was pretty much a big storm and persons were there crying out um and and the different fishermen are the different persons aboard the the vessel all cried out to their respective gods you know um save me and they probably provided their different names who may not know who those different gods are but there was it was was jonah lying in the in the depths of the vessel um and the long and short of the story is is that he declared that that pretty much if you throw me overboard if you take me off this vessel then the storm that you are experiencing um god will save you from this storm now even before we look at jonah being physically thrown off if we open our of our bibles and if we go into the book of jonah bear mind that that these men in the vessel with the exception of the of jonah they were served different gods they didn't know or had a relationship with the true and living god that jonah had right and so having had a bit of apprehension so i may say so absurd over jonah because in in their mind um they perhaps were condemned condemning an innocent man to his death but jonah knew the history of why this happened while they were on the the both now in jonah 1 verse 16 and this shows you how mighty god is jonah one verse 16 he says then the men fear the lord exceedingly and offered sacrifice unto the lord and made bows and this is after they would have thrown over toronjona overboard and and the sea began to calm down they now realize that the god that jonah served was a true and living god bear in mind that jonah went on a mission to i was given a mission to preach to the children or are the other persons that needed me so for them to turn over their lives and he decided to do otherwise but here he was god using in a different way to minister to these men to the point where they made false to god they say evil when we probably decide to do otherwise because god is always in the business of saving souls god will find even the most ingenious ways to save persons who are lost in sin so while the universe were waiting for that proclamation for jonah god was still busy on the boat saving those who had no relationship with him and the scripture says they made vows they now know the god who jonah served jonah now while having been thrown overboard he thanked god for listening to his distress this cry and the scripture there speaks of jonah's prayer to god god saved his life when this was certain and this is another point that i want to speak up about how irrational jonah was in his decision to run away from god bear in mind that when jonah told them to throw him overboard jonah would basically tell them telling them to kill him [Music] jonah did not know that there was a fish waiting to swallow him up and indeed and it is this fish that would save us like jonah was was saying to them you know kill me get rid of me and the storm will go away and jonah was basically saying i would rather die than than go back to the movie and preach to them that is what jonah was pretty much saying and just to show how how irrational jonah was in his thinking because it would be fair to say that if jonah had confessed right then and they are on the boat that um god i am sorry and and i will return to nineveh to preach it's fair to say that the storm are the the slowdown or whatever they were going through at that point would have ceased but jonathan said no it's better for me to die than to go back to nineveh but even with that thinking in his mind jonah um jonah's life was saved by god which again shows us how merciful god is even when we do some of the wickedest things even when we go contrary to his word god is merciful to us and we can always reflect on the mercy of god now having gone through the story we know exactly what happened that uh jonah spent three days he prayed to god god delivered him and of course god having delivered him god didn't just say all right go about your will find somebody else to do that which i have asked you to do no that pretty much still had a work for jonah to do and one would have thought that jonah would have learned you know um having gone through this near that experience you would have think that he would have learned that you know all right let me go to the navy let me do what god asked me to do i'll be blessed by this the slide tells us about you know the vast expanse of land that that nineveh was that it pretty much was a three-day journey on foot for jonah but once jonah preached i guess to his surprise but the persons of the ninevites turn their hearts over to god they say all of this the thing that jonah had in his mind about maybe they would kill him or maybe they would not be receptive of his word god showed that he can do otherwise because [Music] even before jonah went and this is something that that we as christians need to be aware of when god sends us to go and witness to persons or to be missionaries in his field god would have sent evil for you you would have gone you would have sent the holy spirit to prepare these at the hearts of these persons yes not every time that persons are receptive to our mission our work that means if not many times person are even receptive to the work of the holy spirit but in the case of the nevis they were very much receptive because the holy spirit would have been preparing um those hearts to receive the message that jonah what had prepared for them and so sometimes even when we're told you may be going to the inner city community you know we sometimes again using this word apprehension sometimes i reluctant to go because you know maybe these persons are are stolen and like and they're very cool so they're gonna they're gonna not listen to what i have to say are even worse they probably curse me out you know but you don't know that god may have been working and these persons are before and it's just for you to just do that little part for them to be fully converted and i don't know about you but certainly um some of my experiences and i should i know personally i should be doing a lot more missional work anytime i've gone out to maybe give out tracks or to to invite person to crusade i've always felt better coming back you know better having gone out you know that feeling that that fear i had once i go when i went to what you know were asked to do it it has it has always been a blessing you know it's i you're probably you're probably um stop at a person's house and and they there are some of them are so receptive you know i remember one time we went into commodities to do to just you know hand out literature and you know we're knocking at the gate and no one was coming out and and i saw persons moving the house and i'm like oh they probably thought you know they don't want to hear what we have to say but you know while we're walking away they stopped us they stopped me and they say no they invited us to pray with them you know i felt i felt blessed by that experience and they gave their testimony about what i would have done for them so you probably don't know all of this beforehand so don't be reluctant because god would have been preparing their hearts and you um will come back feeling evil more blessed as a matter of fact i think an even greater example would have been the crusade that we did um back in in homestead that crusader that evangelistic series has stopped and it's still in my mind that jesus would say well yes who said what i used to say i don't know how many of our youths are watching i don't know sunny is watching but that crusade um that evangelistic effort was was so amazing and i personally had apprehension you know probably walking to homes and on a nightly basis you know but the heart of the men and women they were so receptive you know we we played games with them playing football with them and of course we delivered the message and they and many were baptized and even some of them baptized are still in the church and serving and serving greatly brilliantly um for the cause of god and what if we are there foreign um they won't be respected so let us leave them god has a work for you to do and he expects for you to do it so in the case of the name advice from the king straight down to the layman they all confess they all turn over their life to god they found rest in god's mercy not the prophet who one would have thought would have been so close to god you know so so it would have been easy fun to find this rest no they found their wrist while they um from a restless prophet who was so reluctant to preach to them and and it's so interesting when they go through it through the jonah story to find that old now back to jonah having gone through the egypt experience having having been swallowed up by a fish you know having seen the receptive nature of the ninevites in in them turning over their lives to god you would have thought that this would have done something to the heart of jonah but jonah jonah jonah like so many of us jonah is as stubborn as summer individual you know he the prejudices that he had still was there with him and god had to pretty much give him a basic example you know he was pretty much there um had a beautiful plant as a shade and god made that the plant with a throat the night and jonah got so angry jonah got so angry at the prospect of the plan dying you know that he himself wanted to die and it's interesting that when i look at it jonah was more concerned about the the the plant and the plant dying than even the the persons of nineveh about the lives of the president of nineveh that is so interesting how many of us put other things or prioritize other things over the salvation of other persons over the saving of lives of other persons and one thing i learned from this story which is very much a true story because jesus referenced it while he was here on earth is that god sending jonah on this mission was not just about saving the ninevites but it was about saving jonah himself maybe jonah throwed his work he did not know that he had these deep seated anger and prejudice um against the the set of um the ninja fights and it was through this situation that god brought that to to the four brought that to his eyes and the same for us sometimes we don't realize how how much we we harbor certain hatred in our hearts and our minds until we are we are but that has to force us to do certain things you know you probably didn't realize how much you want your neighbor you don't um the issue journey by so so heavy until god probably tells you to go and give a truck to them and then you realize i can't go and give a check to them because hey we're not done talking terms or maybe i don't like her or him that much or maybe somebody else should do this sometimes that has to use those situations to show us or the real extent of our lives and shows exactly where our heart was and and it is very much the case of jonah's story here and the expectation is that jonah would have learned his lesson you know god loves everyone god wants to save everyone there is no preferential treatment where god is concerned he wants to save the rich the poor the blind the meme everyone and god would have entrusted us as as christians to go forth and many of us are failing so we probably look at jonah and we you know probably say you know i would not have run you know i would not have gone on a ship you know but but why not i gear into god's word that's the very most thing that you're doing you know when god calls you and you decide to do otherwise you're not far from jonah you may not have physically gone on a ship but you are pretty much um doing contrary to god's to god's word and and and not only that we started by saying if you are doing anything against god's will you will not find rest many of us are so uneasy because we are not doing what god has called us to do and for even of some of who are non-christians who may be watching until you are fully doing god's will because in him and in him only do we find true rest so the invitation is is extended to you to come to to know god to love god to understand god and that and that peace that you really want you will find that rest in him and for us as christians don't because because we're close to god you know that means we are truly right truly resting and in peace it's far from it as the story of jonah through sometimes even those closest to god in terms of their work because we're so busy working our hearts are far from him so we're still restless we're still searching we're still walking aimlessly [Music] it starts right there in the heart because the secondary part of the story is that god wanted to fix jonah's heart about um as much as we wanted to to save the person of navy it was jonah's heart it is your heart that god wants to change and and and you know let's just look at this at this story um with the expectation to make that change servant of the lord ellen white as i as i bring our listening review to us to our clothes she says that in the charge given him jonah had been entrusted with a heavy responsibility yet he who had been him go was able to sustain his servant and granted success so success would already promise the jonah had the prophet obeyed unquestionably he would have been spared many bitter experiences and would have been blessed abundantly yet in the whole of jonah's despair the lord did not desert him we spoke about the mercies of our god through a series of trials and strange providences the prophet's confidence in god and in his infinite power to save was to be revived the jonah ultimately knew about god's power to save and i'm sure having had this experience jonah would have been closer to god than even before he started so as we go through our lives as we reflect upon the story of jonah and i thank those also for posting some interesting um facts are interesting observations in the chat i may not be able to read all of them but i've seen persons have been blessed so thanks for sharing as well you know let us not just read the story but but make the application in our lives in our lives and remember that god again is in the business of saving souls yours your family but yes even your enemies let us pray as we continue in our sabbath school program and i hope that those who would have been cut off would have rejoined so that we can continue the program so let's just go ahead for her as we continue into sabbath school father and everyone want to give you thanks for the timely lessons that you have given us in stories that would have heard from from from we were youth and sometimes we didn't realize the the deep lessons that you would have wanted us to see but have been reviewed um which has come home to us about or need to turn over our lives to your need to put prejudices aside or need to love everyone as all you have loved everyone and so we're thankful for the jonah story i hope that in my personal life it would have made a change that i will put aside all of those prejudices and i hope the same for those listening on our youtube and zoom platform that they would have learned but not only learn but decide to make the change especially at that time like this we realize that time is wrapping up and god is calling his people amidst all the confusion around us god has called us to do a special work and while there may be non-christians listening i may be listening in the future god has called us to witness to go to them of course he wants us to fix he wants to work on our hearts as well that was not to turn him aside but to receive him so that we can have the true rest that we see viewers as we continue to go through the program we again pray that the internet that the electricity will hold up so that your word will go more than that we will be blessed this is my prayer amen and now turn it over to to sister who will be coming up the sister june williams will be giving us our welcome and then the program will continue i share this mr williams good morning good morning in romans 15 verse 7 it says therefore welcome one another as christ welcome you for the glory of god this morning is my privilege to welcome you all to church and to sabbath school welcome welcome welcome with jesus as our example we should never be shy about welcoming others to the friends that we invited online this morning i just want to say welcome to our neighbors welcome to our visitors let me say welcome to my church family nunus welcome to all as christian we should always display the welcoming attitude of christ he welcomes everyone today being recognized as pathfinder's day worldwide let me say welcome to all to my signum pathfinders let me say again welcome remember we are all christian soldiers as the song say welcome welcome welcome [Music] welcome glad we his presence blessed is the great job is rest welcome and continue to have a blessed and holy sabbath day [Music] all right that was such a blessing i just want to remind you as our young people develop through the pathfinder program that you may find that they grow in the areas of their spiritual wellness health social and emotional stability their psychological well-being and behavior as these children grow in their faith uh you'll see that they develop these things and they just go into great people now a new study published in the journal of religion and health shows that happiness and the character traits of grit and persistence go really well with an inner asset and that's your spirituality and this study measured as a deep spiritual connection and the sense of a sacred world now during the last decade what we now consider to be any sort of spirituality it is the source for health and thriving kids and the people that lack the spirituality and families and young culture it can be a big source of suffering now um if you take a look this research also shared that spirituality plays a significant role in all the areas of development for a child social emotional cognitive kids with spirituality have greater great higher grades more optimism and persistence than kids without a strong sense of spirituality and teenagers who do say they have a strong sense of spirituality are less likely than the norm to have like unprotected or dangerous um intimate matters they're also 40 percent less likely to use drugs and this personal spirituality includes a direct relationship with nature um or higher power all right and as we continue looking at the study our natural spirituality of children and young people can be encouraged and fostered by steps like prayer meditation long walks in nature learning the skills that you find in this program and parents can demonstrate their approval for and model these traits like caring for others empathy or optimism because as a parent you're the best example for your child now what what's really cool is that when parents show this level of just engagement it makes their child feel very comfortable and when they don't turn their children away from those serious questions like why uh with moral issues like if there is a god or what does that mean to us so as we continue to understand the implications of this program we find that some children actually graduate the master guide program now our master guide is just an area of church ministry meant for mentoring and persons who graduate from pathfinders can go here to develop their leadership it's something that you have to train for and get certified in but it's really cool and it's just committed to training our youth for leadership and service to god and humanity and being a master guide is more about responsibility to others to service more than having some sort of status the ministry was just developed to train leaders um for health and just the development of the younger ones and our master guides a lot of times are the ones like hosting the classes or the honors in our pathfinders and adventurous classes now it also forces one to just focus on their personal spiritual life and their general leadership skills and sharpening those skills so that they can serve help understand help others to understand god's world with nature the outreach ministry and even just have a lifestyle that just shows healthy living and just being that example for others to just see and understand and be attracted to it right so our master guide curriculum is something that is training our junior use um and something that will grow their personal and spiritual development skills um personal leadership fitness lifestyle communication relationships and i just encourage all of you to inspire enthusiasm for god in your child's life by encouraging them to join us as a part of our adventures or pathfinders program and they can find that like-minded peers and persons can be associated with here and just share in our vision i will go master guide me thank you let us pray please go ahead with me as we pray jesus thank you so much for this sabbath day that you have brought us to thank you for the lessons that we have learned so far and i will continue to learn thank you for the reminder that we got from the story of jonah please continue to be with the children as they will minister out in the divine our service coming up thank you for the pathfinder master guide ministry continue to build their work thank you for blessing us and for the summer day in which we can rest continue to lead and guide your church and in my free amen episode church jeremiah 33 and verse 3 reminds us call unto me and i will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not and isaiah 65 verse 24 says and it shall come to pass that before they call i will answer and while they are yet speaking i will hear our church has been going through so much and the only answer is prayer i'm going to ask that you bow your heads reverently with me as we seek the lord in prayer mighty god and our father who art in heaven we come before your awesome presence this morning to lift you up to magnify you to give your glory and praise for who you are you are god and there's none like you lord we give you glory we thank you for waking us up this morning in our rightful minds lord even while we were waking up some people were taking their last breath lord we thank you we magnify you we give you glory lord you have called us at a time like this to be co-laborers with you and lord in our church not just at sydney but our other churches all over but we just want to zero in this morning lord in the congregations that have persons who are sick dear jesus ban in gilead great physician doctors have given up on some of the patients but we are so glad to know lord that nothing is impossible with you raising evoc in our churches not to even mention our communities lord marriages are shattering people lord that used to be so close and loving and kind to each other have become worst enemies what a time we are living in mighty god persons are sick hospital words are filled up people don't know what to do even members of our churches are getting discouraged but lord you are god you remain god there's none like you you told us dear god that the time would come when these things would happen but lord we recognize that because your coming is even at the door the enemy of our souls is just ramping up his forces but in the name of jesus this morning lord i call upon you and i ask god because your promise in your words that before we call you answer and while we're speaking you hear us lord i'm calling upon you to do for your people that which only you can do show up for us and let us know dear god that you are still alive that you are still saving souls you are still healing the sick lord you are still mending broken lies that you are still father causing your members father who even are adverse and malice with each other to come together this is the time because you're the cops family and those that are sick in hospital at this time sister dwene sister palmer brother blake lord and the others you know them god you know them rachel can touch somebody this morning and lord in a very special way i pray god that as your word go forth even as we listen to the lesson the sabbath school lesson we recognize their god that you are mighty to save so i pray lord that if there's someone in the hearing of my voice this morning who has no hope who is thinking that too much things are happening to me there's no reason to live further in the name of jesus i pray that you'll show up and let such a one know that there is hope in jesus christ this morning save somebody lord i beg you help your people to turn to you and for those of us lord who have been working with you help us that this is not the time for us to get wary we need to buckle up we need to put on the whole armor we need lord to get on the battlefield because lord we're on this journey and the end is near have your own way this morning reach out and touch your pastors or elders or leaders and every single member of our churches be with the pathfinders today in a very special way and help them to know their god that they need to stand up as watchmen on the wall of zion help us mighty god to weave between the porch and the halter so that someone might be saved have your own way this morning god and powerful movement has been equipping youth with life skills helping them to have a deeper commitment with god to develop their physical strength and to foster social development we do believe that at this time the pathfinder club is more valuable it's more relevant than we would ever imagine because as crises unfold we need to develop new skills to meet these demands so i ask if you are a parent and you have not yet enlisted your child in the pathfinder movement now is the time if you're a child and you want to develop your skills in your and your abilities to be the best person you could ever be to realize your goals to fulfill your dreams join the pathfinder club and as we celebrate today i express appreciation to or conference youth ministries directors in their respective fields and today we will be inspired by pastor kevin barnaby of this central jamaica conference i pray that or area coordinators federation officers local club leaders who continue to give off their contribution to make sacrificial service for the advancement and the development of our youth that you too will stay the course and by the grace of god i pray that you will receive fresh inspiration as for me i will go i hope that you two will say i will go i will go and make a big difference for jesus have yourselves a happy pathfinder day god bless [Applause] hello pathfinders it's my singular pleasure to wish you yet another well pathfinder day happy 7th the lord has been good to us indeed he has been good in many ways than one the fact that we are alive today is testament of the grace of blessing let us bring dear loving and compassionate father we thank you for today thank you for the offer the offering that you have beseeched upon us bless the offering lord and please help us to help others and to do your will in your name i pray amen [Music] after the hurricane i didn't want to go home my house was destroyed i had lost everything including my hope what goes through your mind when you hear these words can you imagine what it's like to wait for a storm to go away but instead want to take away the things you've built over a lifetime working in more than 130 countries adra is the international humanitarian arm of the seventh-day adventist church last year address supporters responded to 104 global emergencies and part of the offering today will travel the world to reach even more people when they need it most through your support they deliver hope compassion and love through community development and disaster response as you return your tithe and give your promise think of those who are hopeless and how you can be a part of the process that will lead them from darkness to light may we put our desires last and god first as a little girl jana knew she wanted to be baptized one day at 13 she remembered her wish i'm going to be baptized she said so yana started taking a six-month baptismal class at the russian-speaking seventh-day adventist church that her family attended in prague the capital of the czech republic she excitedly told others about her plans to give her heart to jesus olga her 21 year old adopted sister in ukraine heard the news and announced i want to be baptized too olga began taking baptismal classes in ukraine and made plans to travel to prague to be baptized with yana yana was thrilled that olga wanted to be baptized now one baptism would become two as the day of the baptism drew near yana invited relatives and friends to come watch at the church she also invited her 17 classmates from the only adventist school in prague i'm very excited about being baptized jana said this is a big celebration and i would be happy if you came the school principal marveled at yana's excitement as she spoke with her classmates many of whom belonged to other christian denominations or didn't go to church at all jana's face was shining with joy finally the big day arrived relatives and friends packed the church jana was so happy when she came out of the water she knew her dream had come true the pastor asked if anyone wanted to be baptized next time yana's younger sister esther immediately leapt to her feet and ran to the front of the church two teenage girls joined her jana was thrilled now one baptism would become five baptisms several of yana's classmates accepted her invitation to attend the baptism after a little while three of those classmates two girls and one boy decided that they also wanted to be baptized jana was thrilled now one baptism would become eight but that wasn't the end jana has an older sister named diana who was 21 and a university student in ukraine diana traveled to prague to watch jana's baptism afterward she said you know i also want to be baptized a month later diana was baptized in ukraine what is the power of one baptism the holy spirit used jana's decision to be baptized to touch the hearts of eight other people one baptism became nine baptisms after i was baptized other people also wanted to be baptized ianna said praise god [Music] i just pray your loving and compassionate father we thank you for today we thank you for bringing us here dear lord as we come together as part finders today we ask you to please guide us in spreading your word please be with the speaker help her to speak your words and to make an impact on those hearing we ask you to bless us and guide us in your name i pray happy sabbath everyone [Music] the privilege is mine this morning to introduce to you today's speaker our speaker is no stranger to hit us here at the sydney seventh-day adventist church she is an animal compassionate hard-working and enthusiastic woman with an undeniable love for god i take great pleasure in calling her my aunt she is a teacher by profession at the innswood high school she serves as the current president of the old harbor zone youth federation and is the pathfinder director for the eagles pathfinder club here at sydney she is a trained master guide and senior youth leader she is a wife and a mother of two wonderful children but most importantly she is a child of god her favorite bible text is philippians 3 14 which says i press toward the mark for the price of the high calling of god in christ jesus i speak of none other than sister sabrina brown let us pray that the lord will use her mightily to deliver the word he has for us today however before she comes our hearts will be blessed by the meditation song after which the next voice we will hear will be that of sister sabrina brown may or hearts be blessed thank you be still my on soul side bear patiently the cross of grief or pain lead to thy god [Music] remain [Music] leads to a joyful and be still my soul thy god death undertake [Music] let nothing shake [Music] all now misters shall be bright at last [Music] his voice ruled [Music] them [Music] in you i find my hope in you i trust you'll never let me go i place my life within [Music] [Music] my soul the heart is hastening on when we shall be forever with the lord griefs and fears i trust that all is well and everyone is doing well today i just want to say thanks to everyone who have participated so far to make today uh what it is or what it has been and so as we move into this segment of the worship experience i just prayed your prayers at this time by the holy spirit really and truly will have this way with us thanks to tajay for those words of introduction i tell you i you you want to make me cry today but thank you so much and um thanks also to sister dominique from all the way in mexico joining with us in worship today of course you know you are part of the family and so we cannot we will not leave you also thank you very much and those songs really are powerful i could just you know say the best tradition and go home after those messages but the lord has a word for us today and so we go straight into it so as you know that it is our pathfinder day today and we are worshiping under the team i will go pastor guido i will go master guide me and i'm i'm sure that those of you understand are are getting the point all right because of course here i am sitting in my uniform as a master guy but today i am not um the person that we are talking about all right and sister andrea as a master guide is not the person we're talking about brother stevenson and as a master guide is not the person we are talking about today we are asking god to be our master guide and we are soliciting that he will guide us even as we take the other part of the theme literally saying i will go we cannot go alone and so we are asking the master to guide us now i don't know if any of you have ever been lost but i have been lost before i have been lost um when i've gone walking i've taken taxes to places and i've come up the taxi and the taxi has gone and i cannot find my way after that i've walked into communities where i'm trying to find um [Music] somebody's house or or so and i have been lost i have even driven to places where i find myself driving around in a circle because for some reason i am not able to understand the direction or i have not gotten any direction all right and so or i cannot remember where i'm supposed to go um and so i'm lost just about um two days ago we were supposed to deliver something to somebody in um i think it's white waters and we were sure of the directions until we got on the street and we found ourselves driving on the streets up and down the street about three or four times before we were able to find we're going realizing afterwards that we had actually stopped at the exact place that we wanted to find but um because we were not following the directions correctly we were not we were not sure and so we drove off and ended up going up and down the street about four times before we eventually found where we were looking for so i have been lost but you know something in all of this i learned and um that it is important to be able to follow directions and it's important to even get good directions all right because sometimes it's not that you can't follow the instructions but it's just that um the directions are not given um properly so that you can follow them all right um nowadays we have what we call it google maps and i have even used google maps brethren and i'm telling you something i have used google maps to find many places and trust me i have been successful in finding those places you know but there have also been times when i have used google maps my own detriment i remember being in kingston and wanting to find a particular place or we didn't know where so we put it in google maps and we're following google maps so diligently until we got to a dead end and the place they wanted was not there and google maps was telling us to reroute and telling us um to go left and to go right and there was no left or right turn that we were supposed to take and we're lost now we have to close on google maps come out of the community and then ask somebody for directions to the place where we are going right so um not even google maps can be trusted um to guide us directly but we're going to talk this afternoon about the master guide that's what i said at the beginning and that is exactly what i mean now the whole idea of leading makes me think of a guide how about you um if you are a leader then the word guide is basically synonymous to that okay because um a guy is one who is familiar with the path a guide is someone who knows the destination all right someone whose knowledge will prevent you from getting lost along the way all right and as part finders we often go on hikes and camps and all of those things and we know what we're talking about so come with me now talk about the master guide father we thank you for the privilege that we have to be talking about you today lord i pray for strength and i ask you no to just let your holy spirit disseminate your words to the ears and the hearts of all those who will hear this message bless your word to our hearts we pray in jesus name amen all right so i'm going to start right whereas i left off pathfinders i'm talking to you first have you ever gone on a hike they are so often from from sydney who can definitely tell me that you have all right and so you understand what what it means those of you went to hollywell think about that experience and remember where we walked from and all the things that we did on the road but listen to this heights and camps are usually made by by master guides because the pathfinders um are really juniors and so as master guys we are the ones who have the um the the experience we are the ones who have the experience and we are the ones who um have the knowledge and the skills and experience the um all of that right so that we are the leaders and if you notice the structure the master guide it is a master guide that even runs the club right so master guides are those who leave and technically we could say it is it is a higher rank than the path finders where it's a rank and file organization right so we are the more experienced in round all right now every once in a while you you run across someone who thinks that you know he or she can do some things on their own and so they don't need guides but in every template they end up missing more than they can find it right if others are on the journey with them they usually end up not having such a full experience because they are not willing to take instructions and stay with me because i'm going somewhere now spiritually speaking have you ever thought about if you often died and if you have never thought about it just for the next 10 seconds think about it the value of a guy the pathfinders would already probably know or understand the value all right because you have to follow the instructions of the master guides all right now your spiritual guides provide the same guide provides the same benefits even as a human guide we can trust our all-knowing master guide jesus yes jesus is our master guide right to lead us daily we can follow his guidance with confidence did i say what did i say with confidence because he has charged a path for us and he will never leave us nor forsake us you know ah many times many times when we are being led i don't know if it has ever happened to you what it does happen to me i start questioning the person who is leaving if i recognize that the person is not confident in what he or she is saying right i start questioning sometimes we ask you sure some instructions i give you know what i always say you're sure that right you're sure that if you don't check it again i'm equinox but when we follow jesus our master guide we can follow him with confidence because we know not only is he charging a path for us but guess what he has traveled the path before so he has experienced all right just like us as master guides have more experience than the pathfinders our master guide jesus has the experience to lead us to the destination all right now um i want you to turn your bibles with me to um turn your bibles to psalm 23 and i want you to hold it there for a minute because um we're going to look at something there but um in the book of hebrews chapter 5 a matter of fact straight down to hebrews chapter 6 we have and i'm just gonna ask you to write it down because it's a lot and you can go through it on your own but here we have some things happening in hebrews and basically there is a warning that is being put to us it is a warning to us against going astray and brethren when we do not follow instructions when we do not follow directions we will go astray all right so in hebrews we have one against going astray against losing our spiritual way or losing our way spiritually let me put it that way and so um the passage talks to us about people who are getting lost and sometimes brethren we feel that we are secure we feel that we know the way we feel that we are right in our own eyes but sometimes these persons who who seem so very confident still end up getting lost and this is what the right of hebrews in chapter five going down to chapter six um warns against right um it is about getting distracted turning off course where if you are following directions and you are not able to follow it correctly and you take a wrong turn then you are going to get lost if it is that you allow persons along the way to stop you and to talk to you and to um do all kind of things to distract you you might definitely you might very well rather forget where you were headed you might end up losing your way and that is what hebrews is warning us again against we cannot afford to go of course it is about disregarding the signs and neglecting to follow them did you hear that it is about disregarding the science if you are be being led or guided and if if the guide fails to to to to use signs to help direct you or if there are signs along the way and you fail to follow the signs then you might end up in trouble because if a sign says do not enter and you enter then surely you might find yourself in in problems so we have to learn to read the signs as we travel along the journey all right we cannot allow ourselves to become vulnerable brethren we cannot allow ourselves to become vulnerable because if we ease up for a minute and allow ourselves to become vulnerable then the devil is going to send all kinds of distractions along the way right and so um the solution to all this is not really found in ourselves i of myself and that is why persons tend to depend on on instruction manuals or or or um you know maps and things like those because we we realize that of ourselves you will not be able to find the way all right it is not found in trying or harder being better people while nothing is wrong with trying harder or trying to be better that is not where the solution is going to go but it said it is in looking to the one who can guarantee that we are on the right path the one who will not lead us astray and without any doubt will guide us into the truth and who is that one that one is none other than our master guide jesus so you are at psalm 23 and this is a well-known and a very powerful sound a matter of fact as children i'm sure this is one of the sounds that you would probably have learned um first or very early all right and so usually um it is it is something that parents really want their children to know we call it the shepherd's psalm and it is quite fitting because it outlines characteristics of the lord that are equal so our shepherd will guide is she so let's look at it it says that the lord is my shepherd i shall not want listen to the next part he leaded me in the past of what righteousness he leadeth me in the path of right and i'm just going to be picking out a few as we go along he leadeth me in the path of righteousness now this year has been of that year of mission and we know that the theme is i will go that is our focus now pathfinders brothers and sisters if we are to go we need to know where we are going we must know where we are going in order to follow the master guide and as i said before he leadeth me in the path of righteousness if that is not where you want to go then basically you are going to end up realizing that you are on a wrong path right notice i didn't say virantha you are going to think that you are on a wrong path if you are following a guide and the guide is not leaving you where you want to go you are going to anything where you don't want to be all right so we must know where we are going and many of us are not sure where we are on our spiritual journey in other words we are lost and so if we are to find our way obviously we will need a guide now jesus my friend is the great master guide and i've said that a couple times since i've been speaking he is the great master guy the psalmist says again he leads me in the paths of righteousness we can be confident that where jesus leads us he's the right part right so remember i said that you might find or think that you are going down a wrong path if you don't know where you want to go but i submit to you that where jesus leads us is always on the right path that is the path of righteousness according to the to the psalmist and for enough you know um some persons as i said don't want to be on this far but when you get on the path and realize that you are on the path of righteousness i i challenge you that you will not want to get out of this far let me talk to my path finders again you see being a pathfinder means that you must be able to lead us that's one of the things that we say that we are developing leaders we say that we are teaching them how to lead we talk about the fact that you know we are preparing them but let me tell you something you cannot be a good leader unless you are a good follower right stick a pin and i'm coming back to that now as i said you must be able to lead persons along the right path right now this means that sometimes the way will get lonely and it will get dark and it will get dreary but if you know who your leader is and if you know the path on which you're traveling if you know where you want to go my friend then the darkness will not be a problem but you must realize that if you find yourself in darkness you must recognize that you're in darkness and understand that what you need is the light didn't say a light big light b-t-h-e-d light all right no no no no listen this is this light is what is going to help you to find your way through the darkness all right um i i often hear the term that you know blind can lead blind so if you are leading and you cannot see where you are going and you do not have the light then my friends you are going to stumble i'm letting that sinking for a second the song says there is a lighthouse on a hillside that overlooks life sees so when we pledge to go pathfinders when we pledge to go brothers and sisters we need to understand that we must walk in the light so when the lighthouse shines the light we cannot disregard the light we cannot turn away from the light we cannot turn and start going in the opposite direction to where the light is shining but we must walk in the light again with that beautiful light down where the dew drops of mercies shine right shine all around us by day and by night jesus the light of the world then when others see that light brothers and sisters they will be able to follow us as we follow christ so pathfinders even though you are being trained to lead as i said you must learn to follow you cannot be too self-righteous and think that you know the way you don't want to listen because we are training you to be leaders so you are following the master guides no that's us the master guides well guess what as master guides know we need to follow the master guide i hope you're following me right in order to be a great leader we must learn to follow otherwise we are all going to stumble in darkness boys and girls brothers and sisters the song says hold out your light you heaven-bound soldiers and let your light shine we're around the world let your light shine around the world as leaders we need to know that we need to have the light and when we have the light we need to shine the light for others to see we can't just keep the light you know it is said that if you put your candle under a bushel it is going to be low so we can be selfish and say well this is my light and nobody is not getting my life i want i want to reach where i'm going and i'm going to take my light and go with my life you ain't going to get there because the cat is going to go out under that oh you are going to do that is to shine your light around the world heaven-bound soldiers all right no let me tell you very quickly um oh you messed it up my screen is running always all right let me tell you very quickly how i'm going to tell you three ways that god guides us i want you to stick with me right here um three ways that god guides us now first of all guys god guides us through his words god guides us through his words he gives us his promises and if we um read his promises and follow his words then i can guarantee you brethren that we will be um led obviously by the spirit of god down the right path now everyone was able to trust the promises of god we know the story of abraham only because he listened to god and knew what those promises were if you think you're in darkness and you think you're stumbling i'm saying to you today go to the promises of god go back to the word of god that is where you'll find direction that is where you'll find guidance that is where we will realize that the instructions are for us to follow all right you cannot rely on god's promises and allow them to strengthen your guide you brethren if you do not know them though so if you are listening to me today and you do not know the promises of god then take up the word get acquainted with his promises for example he promises us that he will never leave us nor forsake us and for someone who is on a journey that in itself is an awesome promise because we know that we are not traveling the road alone we know that we are not alone so when god promises when he says i will be with you when you go through the waters and through the fire that is a promise and if we know those promises then on our journey we will be encouraged because we know that he says he will be there all right if you have not spent enough time on god's word for it to get into you now is the time getting into his words that please he has given us a manual he has been giving us a guide he has given us directions on how to find the power we need to trust his promises he promised us that he has gone to prepare place for us and listening again and if we do not understand and believe a promise like that then obviously we are going to be led astray we are going to end up on a wrong path right when we know god's promises those can help to guide us and to lead us and to help us to find the power and to stay on the path secondly god's spirit that gives us his spirit his holy spirit as a guide and we we we know when we understand the work of the holy spirit in this whole um in this whole jour on this whole journey he he he was given to us as a guide god has imparted his character to dwell with us and to dwell within us in the person of his holy spirit he has placed the spirit within us as a guide and the holy spirit is here to see us through to completion to see to it that we finish the journey that's a good guarantee and we know that we can count on him but you know what when we hide in our hearts and do not listen to the voice of the holy spirit then we end up going astray jesus is our master guide and he has given us maps and compasses and signs along the way and he has given us his holy spirit to impress on our hearts and to remind us and to tell us when we are going wrong but suddenly many of us turn up turn up blind and we we hide our own fears we give deaf ears to the cause of the holy spirit and we find ourselves going astray god also sends guidance in the person of his son now jesus came to us and he lived he lived and he worked and he he he set an example so that we can follow and if we follow the example that jesus said for us then we are sure that the path that we are on is the right path because something if jesus did it then we can rest assured that we can also do it amen amen and so that that that is an assurance that we have that you know jesus traveled the path before us and so he can help to guide us and his example can stand for us to take us um to the kingdom of god you know sadly some of us do not want to be led brethren we are anxious to be leaders but we do not want to be led and as i said earlier unless we are willing to be led unless we are willing to be followers then we will not be good leaders let me tell you that it's the master who guides us and we must surrender ourselves to be led the pathfinders know that the master guys are the ones who supervise them and therefore to be an outstanding pathfinder means obeying the master guys and submitting to the discipline it is the same way with jesus if we are to be successful on our journey we must be obedient and submit to the discipline yes brethren i said discipline if we are not disciplined on the journey we are going to give up we are going to give up we are going to tap out we are going to quit but we must be able to submit to the discipline and that we're not careful we will get distracted right but we must learn to know the voice of jesus when you are the parrot square pathfinders let's start practically to you know when you're on the parade square and if any of you will have experience as you know soldiers police officers even candidates since you know you understand what i'm talking about no when you're on the parade square and the instructor gives the word of command you are required to be sharp and swift in your response you have to be able to follow you know so when when when you when you um and you must understand by the way that you cannot work when somebody else gives the word of command so if you have an instructor or a parent commander and you are listening to everybody um on the sidelines you are going to find yourself in trouble so when the part when they are instructor says forward much if you are not paying attention the period gonna leave you all right also if it is that the instructor um says something to you and you do not understand the instruction you might end up making a wrong turn so if the instructor said right turner you were listening to in your spin to somebody else and you see everybody turning and suddenly you turn left there goes a problem right the drill master's voice alone is important at that point if he says right turn are you turn left and the fire all right please and stop it again everyone it appears as if our speaker and some of the persons would have been joining online would have lost their connectivity as well as their electricity again i think the enemy is doing his best to ensure that the message which was so clearly been delivered by sister francis brown that it would you would affect it somehow but god's word moscow fought a while we are with sister francis brown joining back on just for those who are still on and those probably would have joined after today is celebrated as past by the day or while the world passed by the day so you would have been listening to a few of our pathfinders from savage school into divine service and you have just been listening to sister francis brown deliver the main presentation of course we're going to give her a little bit of time before before we turn over to her for her to reconnect if possible but also we the program doesn't end after the buying service uh we will be having our regular ey service and that will begin at 4 30 we have a special presentation as we normally do on our a why so you can feel free to join us at that time [Music] now let's say we're waiting on sister france is going to join back on but i feel impressed to pray and i don't know how how much of you feel the same um maybe on the youtube platform because one of the things are that i have observed especially as it relates to our recent lock doors that we have been experiencing is that you know once we there there are pros and cons of the technology the technology allows us to to broadcast throughout and to many persons but you know the devil always try to interrupt now always try to intro but i know in your space where you are right now that you are worshiping that you are green and that you are allowing god's word to go forward in your own special way and to even amid the loved one that doesn't mean that church infrastructure or anything like that it just means that we need to create a big goal to ensure that sideways go forward so where you are on your platform i invite you to boil your hits as we pray i'm not sure if this is the francis brown will be able to to join back with us but if she is then we will resume so let's just wear his i don't even want to give you thanks for your blessings your mercy your grace upon us you have been a great and awesome god and for those of us on the different platforms we have been blessed by the presentations by the song by the pearls but there have been interruptions which really are out of our control but we know it's the enemy trying to be trying to interrupt your world from going forth but we pray that that which we have listened so far that our [Music] hearts would have been blessed that would have been that would have been drawn closer to you and feel impressed so not only share the message with those in our immediate space but to do as you would have commissioned to do which is to go the topic for today's in a master guide i will go and you are the great master guide and you have commissioned us to go you're using if you are or phone using the different devices using technology you have all commissioners to go and even those who don't have access to technology they or our feet our hands our lips are still fully functional and we can tell all around the world even our immediate those in our immediate space that we have a god that still cares you have a god that still loves however god that still saves so continue to bless the program as we go throughout today bless those who are currently without electricity and internet we feel that they may be restored in short order so that they can benefit from the online services being hosted by our church as well as other churches so this keep on god as i pray amen all right thank you sister brown are you back on if not should i just move over into doing the clothing exercise which would be our closing song [Music] yes elder because i'm not sure the phone is going to hold up it's cracking up really badly okay that's that's fair so wherever you are in your platform let's just turn to our closing him number 623 i will follow the in number 623 i will follow the i'll be sharing with you and wherever you are asking that you sing with us in number six two three uh let us go i will follow thee my savior [Music] wherever my lodge may be where the goldwest i will follow yes my lord i'll follow thee i will follow [Music] and though all men should forsake thee by the grace [Music] has tried this way before me and i gladly follow thee i will follow thee my savior [Music] by thy grace i'll follow [Music] i remember thou was tempted and rejoiced to follow thee i will fall my savior [Music] [Music] through affliction for forsaken though and i only follow thee i will follow [Music] [Music] by the grace i'll follow me now for those who probably know the tune of that summoner was singing i hope that you're singing a much in a much better way than i was i'm not familiar with this particular tune but i hope that you are singing along i'm just waiting to see if a few of our members would have rejoined our zoo platform but they haven't so let us borrow heads as we pray to close again father name in heaven we carry just a little bit longer as a thank you for the day that two levels would have passed in terms of this summer school and divine service services that we would have had we had interruptions and we had to make adjustments but you are great and the song is there that we will follow you and that is the commission you have given us to go but as mr brown would have said so clearly in our presentation that in order for us to go in order for us to lead we have to be good followers and the person who we should follow is certainly you the great master guide so help us dear lord you know different ears in our neck of the woods in our corner of the vineyard that as we lead men and women to you help us to realize that we are not the center of attention the spotlight is not to be placed on us so that men can see us and follow us but that men can see you and follow you so we can we ask that you make under the bliss the path find a core bless the path find the group those at siddha those within the older federation and the wider federations across jamaica and across the world as we celebrate world pathfinder day that you may continue to equip them equip us with the different tools to lead children to you to lead young people and adults alike as we all work for you to make it to the end to the kingdom go unto the blessed guide and protect us i pray amen so again brother want to thank you for having stayed with us and remember that we continue this afternoon for a y we will have another interesting presentation hopefully hopefully no interruptions this time as we listen to another of our pathfinder pathfinder team leader now so from the pathfinder team at sydney from the entire communication group from the elders and the board of elders and pastor who is still on vacation yes that you may enjoy the rest of the sabbath as you join with us this afternoon god bless you [Music] [Music] amazing grace me now my fears [Music] my [Music] [Music] is is my is is is grace [Music]
