i'll be looking firstly on spiritual growth how do we encourage our men to be christian leaders well pastor the word of god gives us instructions how god wants our men to act think and live these guidelines help our men to pursue god's will more first by growing character faith and knowledge so what we must do is encourage our men to strengthen their faith and take up leadership roles let's remember that when god calls david moses joshua gideon abraham peter and paul and all the other gunmen when they experienced spiritual leadership roles we recognized that they were strengthened and they were better and stronger men okay thank you dr earl will regular reading of the bible strengthen our men oh certainly pastor what does 23 verse 16 to 17 tell us all scripture is breathed out by god and profitable for teaching for reproof for correction and for training in righteousness that the man of god may be competent equipped for every good work so the effective way to go spiritually is to continuously consume the word of god dr earl when men have been strengthened by biblical teaching what can they do well pastor what they must also do is share with other persons especially other men this wisdom and this guidance that they have received so that they can go and disciple go and evangelize to help other men to grow and know about the holy spirit okay thank you very much dr earl here and they're ready to go sister denise so let me go right over right over to this segment thank you thank you so very much and good morning to our viewers those who are whatever platform you're on it is great that you are here we continue to enjoy your presence with us even as all of us are recipients of the blessings of almighty god shall we pray loving lord we thank you for another morning another week that you have taken us through the studying of your words we now seek your holy spirit's presence as we uh review and refresh our thoughts on what you'll continue to teach us bless us now for we ask these mercies in jesus name amen now we welcome to you elder myria elder doctrine it is good to see you uh this week we have looked at a lesson longing for for more and uh we we see in the lesson coming out the whole issue of of types and uh we we we look at how god uses things that we are familiar with to teach us spiritual lessons and and the the lesson brings it out that the attention must not be placed on the model on the type on on the but rather but to focus on the message uh that which it is seeking to convey so these these samples are not the original but they teach us about the original and so we must view them for the lesson that they seek to convey to us there are spiritual lessons that we can learn that we should learn now sunday's lesson ella mary speaks to us about the whole matter of a a a a a mass baptism yes can you talk to us about that symbol those symbols so this mass baptism um relates to the whole the israelites as they made their their way out of egyptian bondage led by moses and we saw here as as paul um looked back at the the journey he was saying that it was a type yes just as how moses led the children out of israel out of the egyptian bondage so is jesus leading us out of synth out of sin and we saw here um in hebrews chapter 8 and verse 5 that um the type yes that the the priest of the old testament service it serves as a shadow of the heavenly things and when we look at all the activities that took place on the journey we saw you see manna was a type representing christ the bread of life the water from the rock was a type representing christ the water of life and just as how the children of israel needed the bread to survive just as how they needed the water to survive so it is that we need jesus in order for us to survive and so with this in mind we can better understand what paul is talking about in first corinthians 10 he says in these verses paul revisits some of the key experiences of god's people in the wilderness and so all of the activities that took place along the journey was pointing to something else so these were miniature rituals examples that points towards heavenly realities amen so so so so what we are we are agreeing is that the focus is not so much on the thing that happens on earth that's right but but god wants to reveal something bigger something greater to us and and it is it is important that we pay attention now now ella doctrine that we we we grew up reading about some rituals in scripture and oftentimes we are all struck about uh the the sacrificial systems and uh and and all that it entails but uh if we are to follow the lesson this week it is not just merely what we see here they have greater meanings can you talk to us about these rituals uh are are they useless as some people make them out to be okay the rituals and the sacrifices clearly we know that no we are not expected to carry them out literally according to colossians 3 they would have of course met their fulfillment at the death of jesus christ on calvary paul speaks to the fact that they were just a shadow of things to come but the body meaning the the fulfillment is of christ therefore we are not nor do we carry them out literally however the fact is we see that within them there are still powerful principles of truth and salvation we know the whole sanctuary service was to teach the israelites concerning the plan of salvation as you have all spoken to the fact that these were models these were examples these were uh uh uh representations these were types we talked about biblical typology representing the truth for example the the whole sin offering we see there a number of lessons contained with it we do not now offer a sin offering upon an altar but clearly the sacrifice had to be offered the throat had to be cut blood had to be spilled and this helped man to understand how grievous how serious uh sin was and that as the apostle paul says without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin hence the priest uh placed the blood upon the the altar and so that lamb had to be a spotless which was offered representing the wholeness the completeness of christ who was without spot and without blemish that was why john while preaching in john 1 29 he declared behold the lamb of god which taken away the sins of the world we were not redeemed by corruptable things like silver and gold but like but with the precious blood of jesus and so the essential point is this uh blood is is is what was so crucial to this thing why because of the principle of of his life or mind the principle of substitution the innocent lamb jesus christ died for our sin hence he secured our salvation and there is so much more that we could say on that but what we find here is that the old testament rituals even though they are not now in effect contained in them are powerful principles old testament principles which speak to our new testament truth concerning the plan of salvation amen and as as i um get ready to come over to your elder clark it it carries a powerful message that in the history of salvation no one has ever been saved by a lamb no one has ever been saved by a blood sacrifice except the blood of jesus amen so so so sometimes we focus on the symbol for getting that it was never about the lamb nor the church lovable uh not only any such thing but it was always about jesus and so thank you so much ella docker for that uh awesome uh word on that particular symbol but there is now another very important issue the issue of rest the issue of that peace and we we we see here where where paul grapples with with with that issue ela clark i'm going to ask you to take us through that all right so so paul was here to try to help us to understand the example of rest um watch paul as ella docker had said using old testament information to explain new testament reality using the one bible that god gives us it is god from genesis to revelation there is no first god and next god is just god almighty so so watch paul for a moment as he uses the exodus and and paul would help us understand when you do hebrew chapter 3 12 down to hebrew chapter 4 1-11 you'll find that um god really wanted moses to lead the children of israel into heaven and it was god's intention that moses would have done it but neither moses nor the generation that left with him got there um so they never got into that rest and then those who got there through joshua's hand are even there who got there didn't receive that spiritual race uh because because uh paul will help us understand that we should come boldly to the throne of grace when we come to the grace of god we will receive that spiritual risk that spiritual access to god which is only accessible by faith not by works you can't do things to get god's rest it is true faith we hear jesus says he that commit to god must believe that he is and without faith is impossible to please god so we come to god by faith it is faith that unlock that spiritual rest that we really desire and when we have faith what rest do we get we get the rest the assurance of salvation the assurance that god is our god that god is our keeper that god is our strength that rest that we get in jesus is only accessible by god by his grace and the sabbath is a demonstration that we have here isaiah says that that we that the sabbath is an example that we have accepted god's grace and his love so in god's grace in his love in his mercy we accept rest and grace through faith which is how christ expects his children to live awesome awesome awesome and and you know i i like the thought and i come to elementary that that uh here is a people being being offered arrest after hundreds of years of slavery uh uh where where where you do not work as you feel but you work as order as instructed so much so that you you couldn't even think about sub when you want it keep say but when the master comes you have to do it so so so here it is now god removes them from that situation uh yet we find that that that rest cannot the cessation of work does not bring rest automatically you and i let me i'm gonna go there you and i cannot keep sabbath in order to find that rest not at all because that rest comes with a relationship with christ jesus and so outside of that no matter how much we think we are keeping the sabbath we will never find that rest and i saw i i really love the way you you you you outline it ella thank you so much now here is an appeal um elder murray harden not your heart talk to us about that special one yes and and so we see the text here in sam speaking specifically today if you hear his voice do not hurt your heart and it work today suggests something urgent it suggests something that must be done no and when we look at as you said pastor earlier that this rest is not just a physical rest from work it's entering to god's peace it's experiencing god's presence and that is what the the israelites failed failed to understand they those who left egypt did not enter the promised land no they wandered in the wilderness and those who left egypt because of disobedience they were not able to experience this true rest that christ offered um there a new generation it said crossed the border with god's help they took the stronghold of the land and set it there however they did not find true rest no because they two were not obedient to the commands of god and god wants to give us as his people true rest he wants us to come into that close relationship with him he wants us to have that close union with him so that we will experience the peace that only he alone gives and it is only the peace of jesus that gives us true rest you know and and friends even as we we we we're prepared to rap i i the truth is the appeal uh that ella mary um referred to it it's for all of us yes the the urgency of that decision to see god the urgency you you know we don't know what tomorrow holds and and so that that message linked to the past finds greater relevance and urgency now i i'm seeing um and ella's the the truth is i i i found myself um praying uh recently and i the prayer took longer than i anticipated because there were times when the words could not come out yes you know uh the the the place got a bit wet around me when i consider how death has taken toll and on hold of our land and i'm saying it is it is an urgent call for all of us to draw closer to jesus because it is only in him that we can find that that that very special arrest now elders uh clark and and doctrine we we talk about the the the heavenly city i don't know which of you i i start with you elder could you lead us off on that uh that thursday's lesson and then we so we are focusing here on the heavenly city of course the uh and the apostle paul in in the hebrew as well the writer of hebrews whom we believe is the apostle paul he used the example of of israel and their experience that is traveling uh from from egypt to canaan which would have then been the promised land where they would find some measure of physical arrest he uses the whole example to speak to our spiritual experience in these last days for if joshua verse 8 of hebrews chapter 4 had given them rest then he would not have afterwards spoken of another day they remained there for a rest for the people of god we understand here and it is clear because many have used hebrews chapter 4 to emphasize the validity of the sabbath some have used it to counteract saying that because salvation is a fulfillment of that risk there is therefore no need for the observance of the sabbath and both positions clear for do not reflect uh the message of the biblical text which is false but the lord here seeks to emphasize the fact that israel did not because of disobedience experience that rest which they should have in jesus christ that the offer is still valid up to today it was from man fell it was uh present in david's time psalm 95 and certainly in our time in the new testament leading up to the second coming of christ that offer is still valid to enter into the rest the true rest which god offers which is our relationship with him us and not trying to earn salvation by our own works but surrendering our words and through faith claiming the offer and the promise of salvation through the blood of jesus christ amen thank you so much and ella i i know you can add in just in a minute or so to the the thought the idea regarding around the sabbath rest and the true rest uh ultimately the true rest is jesus salvation ultimately ultimately we will be saved from the sin sick corona beast cancer on earth we will be saved ultimately uh again isaiah says that the holy spirit shall be a sign between me and you that they may know that i am the lord your god the sabbath demonstrates that we accept grace that's what it demonstrates not that we ignore grace but that we accept the grace of god so so i hear hebrews say uh chapter four i think it's one two three he i hear paul says in hebrew that the same gospel which was preached to us was preached to them but they didn't receive it because it was not mixed by faith listen to me uh you must believe the bible more than your grandmother's tradition it is not what you've born come see that determines salvation salvation is anchored on what the word of god says and if we'll ever receive that rest if we will ever have access to that rest in christ we must surrender what we think we know and accept what the bible teaches this is the true rest the ultimate rest the rest of salvation in jesus amen and i i close by saying this these things happened for an example for us so that we by seeing what happened in time past can avoid the evils that befell them and so by god's grace i pray my friends viewers our members non-members whoever you are remember that these are examples unto us let us not fail as they fail let's stick close to christ because in him there is salvation there is true rest god bless you see you next week [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] he's done so much for me he cannot tell at all if i had ten thousand tons still won't be enough [Music] [Music] up [Music] shall i run [Music] for he has done so very much for me [Music] foreign [Music] come on [Music] what shall i render to jehovah for he has done so very much for me what shall i render to jehovah for he asked us so very much [Music] anymore [Music] [Applause] is [Music] [Music] to jehovah for he has done so very much for me what shall i render to jehovah [Music] for he has done so very much for me what shall i render to jehovah for he has done so very much for me [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey sabbath everyone happy pray dear jesus thank you for today thank you for everything you've done thank you for being self today please help us to have a wonderful verse of the sabbath in your name i pray amen daniel was a young boy when he was taken away from his home and his family fortunately he was with his three friends shadrach meshach and abednego while they were in babylon they were offered food that was unhealthy for them to eat they asked person in charge of them to give them fruits and vegetables instead he allowed them to eat this diet for 10 days when he saw that they were healthy he allowed them to continue eating it when the king expected them he saw they were 10 times stronger and smarter than the people who ate of the king's food when the king had a dream and the wise men couldn't tell him what it was or meant daniel with god's help went to the king and told them what it was and what it meant daniel was the wisest man in the kingdom of babylon because he was connected to god in hope and empowered by his spirit how can we be connected to god and hope and empowered by his spirit by praying to god and asking for his guidance every day reading our bible daily can help us learn more about god and his love for us the bible tells us in proverbs 3 verse 5 and 6 that we should trust in the lord with all thine heart and lean on thy own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path jeremiah 29 verse 11 reminds us that the lord says but i know the plans i have for you declares lord plans to prosper and not to harm you plans to give you hope and future jeremiah 17 verse 7 states that blessed is the man that trusts in the lord and whose hope the lord is isaiah 41 verse 10 says fear thou not for i am with thee be not dismayed for i am thy god i will strengthen thee yea i will help thee i will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness psalms 55 verse 22 says cast thy burden upon the lord and he shall sustain thee he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved psalms 125 verse 1 says they that trust in the lord shall be his mount zion which cannot be removed but abideth forever just like daniel we should be connected in hope and empowered by spirit every day remember that god loves and cares for us happy sabbath indeed we want to thank all the children from all over the world who have taken part in children's church this into the verse all right after that sashaline what do we have we have a special musical item by mr dave gale and then right after that what do we have again to put the icing on the cake but that section we have elder kingsley clark and so right now we shall go over to the inverse team as they will be talking about something interesting that you want to hear so please you know what you're going to do now share the link and be that minister so we go over now to pastor and his team for university blessed amen 20 years ago something went seriously wrong the world trade center was attack many many lives were lost today 20 years later i'm sure there are some young people perhaps you're just 20 perhaps you are let's get in there we are so glad to to meet you we're so glad to have you that you will be encouraged and know that in spite of your pain there is a god who will give pleasure and peace in spite of your heartache there is a god who gives beauty for ashes and so weak number 11 team members when things go wrong and of course we are studying sexually design principles of biblical sexuality i am your brother your friend andre wallace and with me this morning i have we have on set uh that's zoom we have monique brown johnson uh happy sabbath monique happy sabbath so good to see you looking quite bright this morning all right and of course we have to my right sasha simon's horn welcome sasha thank you i love the colors this morning and also we have rosemary anderson earl how are you doing rosie doing well thank you and the little one and husband are doing all infirmities right so good to see you and friends if you are joining us on ncu or bliss tv or any other platforms we are so so glad uh to have you and we know that there is something good that is in store this morning and so just as we prepare to get into the lesson we're gonna invite rosemary rosemary to pray a special prayer for all our friends and especially those who may be grieving this morning go ahead rosie and pray for us at this time please assume an attitude of prayer as we talk or maker heavenly father thank you for this unity where young people as young christians called for work to work with your people heavenly father as we share your words their heart so that they would their biddings and as we go in line or darkness whatever is not clear to our viewers may we go into the world they will get the understanding that you desire thank you lord for your blessings tabernacle with us as we share your words no i pray amen amen amen beautiful indeed now our passage focus takes us into matthew uh brother elder matthew 19 verses 3 through 11. uh share for us denver what this passage is saying this morning the bible says the pharisees also came unto him tempting him and saying unto him is it lawful for a man to put away his wife forever cause and he answered and said unto them as ye not read that ye which made them at the beginning made them male and female and said for this cause shall a man leave father and mother and shall cleave to his wife and they the twins shall be one flesh wherefore there are no more twins but one flesh what thereof god are joined together let no man pull a thunder they say unto him why did moses then command to give a writing of divorcement and to put away and he said unto them moses because the oddness of your heart suffered you to put away your wife but from the beginning it was not so and i say unto you whosoever shall put away his wife except it be for fornication and shall marry another committed adultery and who said marriage which is put away do it commit commit adultery if disciples say unto him if the case of the man be so with his wife it is not good to mind leaven laughs but he said unto them all men cannot receive the same save thee to whom it is given indeed so things often times can go wrong in a marriage and so as we examine in brief this morning the whole concept of divorce i know that uh god will guide god will lead and you will certainly be blessed uh our friends our friends on facebook your question this morning if divorce is not an option what principles can be applied to situations of domestic abuse very interesting question i agree that if divorce is not an option what principles can be applied situations of domestic abuse now for youtube uh how does it seem unfair to you that divorce can be sought only in the case of adultery uh very interesting continue to ensure that you subscribe and you click the notification bell and for those of you who may be in yonder place remember you can get your inverse at www.inversebable.org all right and of course starting next quarter at any of the at the bookstore across jamaica and of course the conferences and the local churches now host and team members we have some time here monique unglued if you have ever worked with strong glue you know how to be careful not to stick together things you do not intend to keep together expand for us monique on this okay so for those of us who would have worked with blue and i'm going to use blue and paper as an example when you put those two together put the glue in between you put those two together and then you allow it to dry you find that when you try to separate it and even sometimes it's impossible but if it does happen to separate and you pull those two papers apart you will realize that each of those papers will have some residue some uh scarring let's say from each of the papers that were joined together as one so that is what this is speaking to interesting concept no such okay any time a relationship ends it's it is a painful experience that makes an impact on one's mindset what do you want to say here elaborate all right so a relationship coming to one end it can be the date of our friend or a family member and that in and of itself it is very depressing however the relationship that the lesson is focusing on is the marriage relationship and in genesis chapter 2 verse 24 god said wherefore a man shall leave his mother and father and shall cleave unto his wife and the two shall become one so now you are glued together and that means that there is a powerful influence on your thoughts and feelings therefore when this oneness is pulled apart there will be an imbalance with both individuals as their life will know being in a series of change there will no longer be us but i and there you you will find that person will start overthinking they will think about what went wrong or what could have been done better and so forth and that will bring a lot of stress on the mind and can even cause you to be depressed interesting unglued now rosemary when individuals come together sexually they achieve the highest level of physical intimacy share some more here really quickly i see you're rather excited about this one rosie go ahead and share all right so sex texts produce some form of call connection which provides or which results in emotional psychological and physical effects please note that there is no such thing as casual sex the sexual intercourse or sexual intimacy is not casual right so young people and adults alike don't go around having sex with any and everybody because once you become sexually active with that person when that relationship is over it is painful and it is destructive and it really affects that person and i've heard that if you have sex with one person and that one person had multiple partners you are having sex with all of those persons so creating that bond with everyone is not what god designed god wants us to share that intimacy that special contact that he's the highest level of intimacy with just one person and and that is due or that should be in the confines of marriage beautiful indeed very very sober words there now denver divorce has come to be viewed by many as a viable solution to marital stress if it's not working just end it uh developing this for us you know i i'm just gonna be brutally honest this morning pastor not every person was prepared to marry and not every marriage god function it uh we live in a world where uh many of our young persons are not prepared enough to take on marriage uh one of the thing i come to realize that we spend more time in planning for the wedding and not for the marriage and and and may i just say this morning that marriage is more than the fan fear of the wedding and so when you you you start to live in that marriage life and you realize things change and things aren't all you expect it to be you you you it's easy for you to uh divorce or to chart anoth another way forward but it is indeed that we are to be grounded in christ and whatever the challenge is in uh the marriage relationship let it be said in your heart that divorce is never going to be an option beautiful indeed now facebook just remember real quickly here if divorce is not an option what principles can be applied to situations of domestic abuse share your thoughts on facebook on youtube how does it seem unfair to you that divorce can be sought only in the case of adultery continue to share those thoughts nominee we're going to jump over into interest trouble in paradise at its best the sexual act is a selfless celebration in the presence of an approving god of mutual of mutuality difference unit unity and plurality it is the emotional physical intellectual and spiritual coming together of two consenting adults as husband and wife now shepherds johnson take us into the important principles in ingest this week okay so in ingest it speaks to first it talks about individuals who might are not married but they are enticed to to engage in sexual intercourse before marriage and then while moving into marriage that uh passion is gone it also says in first corinthians seven verse five we are instructed as married couples to ensure that we do not deprive one another except for consent where you agree to through her and fasting of skin and this is to ensure that the partner your partner is not tempted right and i realized that in the church i would have heard many individuals speak to lock-in shop but based on scripture it speaks to this being something that should not be done in the marriage release beautiful money now uh really quickly now sasha onto 70 times seven uh what is this talking about in interpret this week all right so peter asked jesus so often shall my brother sin against me and i forgive him and he said till seven times jesus said not so until 70 times seven so we should forgive until we miscount and we start over and over again so if something goes wrong in our marriage and we seek for a divorce it is not because it is because of the hardness of our heart as as jesus explained in the text that was read by brother horton so divorce was never a part of god's ideal plan and so a happy marriage requires a healthy dose of forgiveness because no one can hurt us like the one who we made ourselves vulnerable to and so we should allow and ask god to help us to have that fruit of long-suffering so that we can forgive over and over again so you're saying uh then sister horton that even if the worse happens forgiveness is still possible quite wonderful now rosie uh jesus the divorcee what do you want to share here quickly while you are sharing your thoughts all right so then for a while sister was getting our thoughts together uh still married in god's eyes as we would have gone through with this week the the the lesson levels to know that marriage is still important in the eyes of god and so there is a word in all of this for church elders leaders pastors mother and father adventist home to prepare our young people for their marriage and the road ahead uh they will face with life more vicious with the skewed they will face with uh some of the most uh determined uh challenges when it comes on uh to go into a marriage relationship but in all of this there is one thing to be reminded that if god sanctioned that marriage no matter what the challenges you will seize no matter what circumstances will confront you jesus will keep your marriage safe and secure in advance now rosie quickly share your closing thoughts as we prepare to put a cap on inverse for this week all right jesus the divorcee all right so the divorcee is a person that went through the divorce right jesus he is married to us we are the bridegroom and he is he is we are the bride and he is the groom so in the lesson it speaks about something who his first wife left and got married to someone else while he was waiting on the wife and in us in in a similar situation is christ and us his people god loves us unconditionally god continues to forgive us god comes continues to us back to him god continues to work on miracles for us and despite all of that we continue as christians to live an adulterous life we allow the cars the money the friends the husbands the wives we allow everything to take precedence over god and god is saying in that he loves us despite our adulterous life and it reaches a point where because of our continual sinning god god has nothing to do more than because of his love for us to allow us to choose between him and the world and even though he allows us to choose he continues to be that loving partner who continues to love and to forgive and is just sitting and waiting for that supposed to come back and we don't get discouraged because god we we might think that god is not god cannot um know what we are going through when we are divorced but never forget that we have a high priest who sympathized in our weakness in no point you know in all points he was tested as we are so let us as christians go boldly before the throne of grace so whenever some you are you are divorced and you feel like god does not love you and god does not care and your partner is gone turn to god remember jesus has been a divorcee jesus know what it feels like when we have forgotten that we no longer love him you know god commends his love towards him that while we are yet sinners christ died for the ungodly marriage sometimes may have some tough times but remember we still serve a god who can bring healing and know this that he understands and is able to bless and to keep you may god continue to keep you strong and faithful and as for us right here at inverse we are your friends until next week do have yourself a wonderful and blessed day father bless these your children across the world and may someone find healing and restoration in jesus reacts these verses in his wonderful name let god's people say amen [Music] in the harvest [Music] is calling [Music] there's a place you're called to labor seem so small and little know it is great if god is in it for he won't forsake his [Music] own god [Music] that you can with [Music] when the conflict here [Music] is [Applause] [Music] [Music] okay [Music] if [Applause] [Music] [Music] amen amen beautiful song wonderful song thank you very much uh we welcome you again to this our special moment that is new believers focus as we continue to strengthen and to nurture our new believers in jesus christ of course we continue our series on looking at difficult texts in the bible especially in the new testament texts that individuals may have misinterpreted to somehow think that the bible is teaching what it is not teaching so we are very happy to have you today and we have a very interesting text to look at today uh romans chapter 10 and verse 4 that speaks of christ being the end of the law but before we go into it we invite you to bow your heads with us as we pray our heavenly father again we ask for the presence and the guidance of your holy spirit as we open your words give us wisdom knowledge and understanding i pray that you will take away from us anything that is unlike you so that we will receive the unadulterated truth and through your holy spirit that we will obey in jesus name we pray amen romans chapter 10 we are looking at i'll quickly read from verse 1 through to verse 5. now you will remember that peter in his book did speak of paul the apostle that he had written some things that were difficult to understand that some believers rested with to their own damnation now we must understand that there are indeed some things that paul had written that was difficult and is difficult to understand but if we look at the text carefully uh measuring it with other texts of the bible knowing that the bible does not contradict itself and looking at the context then we should be able to come up with the correct meaning of the text romans chapter 10 from verse 1 the bible says paul speaking brethren my heart's desire and prayer to god for israel is that they might be saved and i say amen for i bear them record that they have a zeal of god but not according to knowledge for they being ignorant of god's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of god verse 4 for christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth for moses described it the righteousness which is of the law that the man which do it those things shall live by them and then he speaks of the righteousness established by faith individuals have read this text and concentrated on verse 4 for christ is the end of the law i've known of individuals who have been very zealous and have come to me and they have said oh christ is the end of the law quoting this text now the text doesn't say that actually the text says christ is the end of the law for righteousness but most times individuals will come and say christ is the end of the law zealously and sometimes they're so zealous that they will not even give you a chance to try to impart a little knowledge that you are aware of to them paul speaks of individuals who have a zeal but not according to knowledge i dare say that even amongst us today as day adventist we do have individuals who have a zeal but sometimes not according to the knowledge and so we would we would forward quite a number of things on social media and teach things that the bible uh does not teach well let's get back here before christ is the end of the law of righteousness so there are perhaps three possible meanings uh for this text meaning number one possible meaning that individuals give and this one is definitely not supported by the bible but i go by it there are individuals who will say that christ is the end of the law means that christ abolished the law that is christ terminated the law he destroyed the law now we know that can't be true because jesus christ himself said in matthew chapter 5 and verse 17 that i think not that i've come to destroy the law or the prophets i'm not come to destroy but to fulfill so christ himself declares without a shadow of a doubt that he did not come to destroy or abolish the law secondly paul himself must be a very crazy man if in romans chapter 3 and verse 31 he says he asks a question do we make void the law through faith and then he said god forbid no we establish the law so paul himself had declared earlier that those who believe in christ by faith actually establishes the law he does not propose reports sorry that the law should be abolished neither does he say that the law was destroyed he said instead that we establish the law we establish it so paul definitely could not mean that the law was was terminated was destroyed was abolished by christ so we throw that one through the window doesn't mean that what else could it mean the second possible meaning for this text is for christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth and that is christ terminates the notion that you can gain righteousness by obedience to the law now when you look at the context it is possible that it detects could be saying that because in the verse before paul speaks of those who were establishing their own righteousness and in the verse after verse 4 he talked about the the lord moses the righteousness that moses described in leviticus so there are some who could say hey what paul is saying here is that when you believe in christ it ends the notion it ends the teaching of legalism that you gain righteousness by the works of the law now that is true in the sense that we don't gain righteousness by our own works we don't gain righteousness by keeping the law in philippians 3 and verse 9 and you can write that down and look at it when you have some time paul himself speak of those who seek their own righteousness by the keeping of the law and not by faith in jesus christ so it is possible that paul was here saying that when you believe in christ when you believe in christ it brings an end the teaching of legalism where you seek righteousness by keeping the law but then there is that third meaning of that text which i believe is the correct meaning of the text now the word that is translated end in this text also means the goal the intent the reason for something now we use that even in our everyday language you'd have heard people ask a question about somebody doing something and they would say to what end to what end in other words the government shut down the country and so forth but to what end in other words what is the intent what is the goal what is the reason for doing this now based on the greek underlining uh word for the end here we understand what paul was saying paul was saying that the goal of the law the goal of the old testament the goal of the sacrificial system and even the moral law the goal is to lead us to christ who is our true righteousness so it is not end as in termination but his end in terms of the goal for something in fact let me quickly i'll show you how the bible used that term in two other texts in james chapter 5 and verse 11 we find the apostle james using the same term and he said there in james 5 verse 11 behold we count them happy which endure you have heard of the patience of job and have seen the end of the lord that the lord is very pitiful and of tender mercy now he was not saying that we have seen the end of god because god is still alive and well we know that so he was not saying that the lord has been terminated that god has come to an end and we have seen the end of god no he was speaking of the intent of god that in the story of joel that we have seen god's intention to show that he is merciful the goal of what was happening to job and job founded out too that god is merciful and god is pitiful and god wants to save us so he was speaking of it as in terms of the goal and so it is in romans chapter 8 10 and verse 4. the bible here is telling us that the law the goal of the law the intent of the law is to bring us to christ our righteousness not in keeping the law but in faith in jesus christ confessing him accepting him as our lord and savior and he then imputes his righteousness upon us and through the holy spirit he gives us the strength to keep the law as he would that's what god that's what the text meant when uh when somebody in the old testament would go and offer sacrifices because he had sinned that sacrifice meant that he had broken the law and should die he is not righteous anymore but when he went to make the sacrifice he had to find a sacrifice that was without spot or blemish in other words symbolically the sacrifice was righteous the sacrifice was without spot or blemish and able to be his substitute but that sacrifice couldn't save him that sacrifice was pointing to jesus the true lamb of god god's righteousness it was pointing to jesus who was unblemished and uh i've never sinned it pointed to jesus christ our righteousness and when we accept him in our lives then we become righteous not of our own selves but because of the righteousness of jesus so i end in saying it does not mean that christ abolished the law far from it the true meaning of this text is that the intent of the old testament the intent of the laws of the old testament is to bring us to jesus christ well did jesus say in john 5 and verse 39 he searched the scriptures for in them he think he have eternal life and they are they which testify of me they pointed to christ our righteousness may you today find righteousness in jesus [Music] it looks like you're guilty [Music] i have no defense but that's when mercy was [Music] and pleaded my case [Music] [Music] when [Music] mercy and wondered how could this be that someone so guilty [Music] my chains were broken i felt born again that moment when mercy woke me [Music] god [Music] when mercy [Music] see when mercy [Music] and let the church praise the lord what a beautiful song mercy walks in we are forgiven well welcome to this beautiful segment it's a 14 parishes and the diaspora in what beautiful joy what did i say joy come in the more it comes in the morning and so we say be strong hold the faith do not be dismayed because the joy of the lord is indeed absolutely is our strength thank you so much satchely we go right over now to camaro indeed alan indeed indeed in the presence of lord there is joy indeed and of course joy is not something that happens to us simply we have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day and so brother nolan wilson kifa davis i know right now that your hearts are aching i know that you are experiencing grief and bereavement but remember joy comes in the morning and we are praying for you condolences to all of you who have lost a loved one a friend someone we are with you in prayer let's continue to hold hands and hearts it's only you ball out go on on your knees and say jesus only you alan all right thank you so much camaro so this is where we're going to wrap this segment it's all about the 14 parishes and the diaspora in praise per testimony and thanksgiving the word is joy so whatever you're going to remember the joy of the lord sisters is our strength so how can we close this without making a shout out or giving a shout out to our dear sister popkin so happy sabbath sister popkin we love you all right at this time we're gonna close this segment with a beautiful prayer and this prayer of course will be done by sister kamara let us pray all right let us pray father god we are so happy to be in your presence father it's not just a head knowledge no that we have of of you but it's an experiential one that's why we can boldly say this morning that in your presence there is fullness of joy father help us to choose to be joyful this morning because you have promised to be our comforter you've promised to be our deliverer you have promised never to leave us nor forsake us and even though you have not excused us from the process of mourning of losing someone of dying god you still promise to be there with us so this morning we are choosing joy we're choosing to hold on to you we're choosing to cling to the promises of christ our king our soon coming king and so this morning with thanksgiving and joy jesus only you in our hearts we say thank you for hearing thank you for being with us and for healing us and in jesus name we we pray amen amen so at this moment we're going to make the transition right into our divine service and we hope and trust that you're now embracing yourselves and preparing our hearts for a beautiful world which is to come so we're going to go right over to the praise deep as we make the transition for our divine service thank you for joining us on the sabbath day we'll now be going into our prison worship session and through all things the ups the dawns the good the bads the heartaches the the the winds whatever it is we should remember that through each of those times we should give the lord the highest praise and so we'll sing this song sabbath evening september 25 and we'll tell you some more about that but for now we're saying to you from this place our lay preachers also we had it last year it's called self church elders and lay preachers fiery fantastic preaching program it begins on uh november 13 and ends on november 27 all things being equal we ask all our churches all our pastors all our church elders let's gear up let's get ready it's going to be self church elders and lay preachers training preaching soul winning and nurturing program god bless you i will see you in the afternoon amen and i thank you so very much uh brother president you know i was glad when they said unto me come let us go into the house of the lord why because in his presence there is fullness of joy now we we have been restricted somewhat by what we can do how many persons can be in church but it is still just awesome to be in a worship service and so the privilege and pleasure is mine to say welcome to you and we hope and pray that god will richly bless you as you worship with us in spirit and in truth we will today be listening to god's manservant pastor donovan fitzgerald williams you have heard him in the nature speaks program and so we we we will now hear from him once again today now he is the husband of sister marcia uh a westmoreland girl and uh he is the daughter the the the father of a daughter denise and his son domar and he will be delivering god's word today hear ye god's been servant as he speaks on behalf of his maker may you be blessed may we all be blessed as we hear the word [Music] [Applause] [Music] she works three jobs she's [Music] [Applause] [Music] so many questions and all of them ask why we're living in a broken world won't give you any answers everything [Music] is wrong [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] mama [Music] daddy's getting tired his fate is [Music] and a broken world won't give you any answers everything is upside down wrong is [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] when he is [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Music] everyone [Music] [Music] in a broken world [Music] in the spiritual community because of the church's principle of increased liability for increased availability secondly we say that giving must become a way of life not seasonal occasional or incidental and thirdly being poor does not exempt anyone from giving you remember the widow she thought she was going to give and then die but her giving crack the giving code it may intrigue you that while we engage in all kinds of theological hair splitting the bible simply declares in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth and the rest of scripture is hinged on the assumption that you and i read understand and believe that there are three things in that text that gets that story that gets my attention first of all is the whole idea of god creating the world what is man's place in that creation the fact is that when man arrived everything else was here light the sky dry land the sun the creatures that live in the waters the ones that fly in here in the air there was a home for him so by the time man got here everything else was here and so the critical lesson is that man came in naked and empty-handed the second lesson has to do with man being created in the image of god and there's a lot of discussion about whether that means physical resemblance i want to say whatever it means it means character trait loving and caring and giving unforgiving right from the start giving was initiated god gave man life a home a wife food responsibility and he intended that man would reciprocate that disposition living is giving and giving is living so number one man's place in creation number two god made man in his image and finally god as giver let everyone record that god continues to give god gives us and as we come to worship today we give because god has already given us our worship here today is inclusive of the ideal of giving on god's part the people that will make it into paradise restored will be there because of our generous gift to fund the mission of the church the gospel to the ends of the earth may you follow the instructions of the giving protocol and uh god bless you as you give bless us now father as we give liberally generously and lovingly and may your name be glorified because of our obedience to you for jesus sake amen god bless you [Music] and the storm rages all through last stages and nothing good days inside you see dark clouds are heavy the enemies they're raging to see you consuming this fight [Music] and all that seems to matter is falling apart from your life but there comes a master with life and with power and he gives peace and time jesus say peace be still and know that i am god peace be still and know that i am god [Music] be still and i know that i am [Music] your name [Music] [Applause] [Music] when the storm rages all true life stages and nothing good is inside dark clouds are heavy and the enemies they're waving to see you consuming this fire and all that seems to matter is falling apart from your life and here comes the master with life and with power and he gives his children peace in time jesus say peace be still and know that i am god be still and know that i am god peace be still and i know that i am [Music] in the bed of affliction in the midst of neglection men fall at his feet in purr in the time of corruption when the son of perdition opposes the children of [Applause] life but when we call on the master yes she'll tear down the words of his eyes here comes the master with life and with power and he gives us peace and time jesus save peace be still and know that i am god please be still and i'm standing in the midst and i'm ready to forgive yes i'm god yes i'm god please [Music] he said i know i know your circumstances [Music] [Music] shall we pray almighty god our heavenly father you are the potentate of heaven the giver of life the sustainer of all things you are omnipotent omniscient omnipresent beside you there is no other and we are blessed to call you our father into your presence we have come once again not because we are good but because jesus has promised us to cover us by his blood so we claim the blood today we pray that its power will be evident in our lives we pray in a marked way as we are conscious of the times in which we live we are surrounded by sickness and death we have seen and heard of our loved ones afflicted and affected and so we continue to call on your name almighty god because there is no one who can save as you can in a time where the church cannot come to worship as it ought to we know that there is yet a more sinister time ahead of us when the church and state from the fallen church and the state will join together to enforce rules that will affect the true worship of your people and i pray almighty god that that in these times you will prepare us for that time yet to come grant us that religion that spiritual fervor grant unto us that close connection with you god so that we be able to stand when conscience is being controlled when the enemy tries to thwart true worship help us lord to be fortified even in these times so grant unto us a word a word that will comfort a word that will give us hope reminding us that all is not lost though darkness may seem to surround us there is a light his name is jesus i pray o god that you'll grant us a word that will shake us up out of our stupor for the church is yet asleep lord the church is not yet fully aware of the seriousness of the time we are we are we are concerned about other things when men are dying souls are crying and we in ought to understand that this is a time to rescue the perishing lord wake up your church give us a word today that will transform our lives that will set our course for a better brighter future so i place into your loving hands the preacher may you endow him imbue him with power from on high speak to him speak through him let loose your blessed holy spirit on the speaker on the hearers whether it be on youtube facebook whatever wcc whatever the medium lord you are able you have power enough to reach everyone and so i ask that you'll do a mighty work and at the end of the service lord may we have made a decision to be better may we form such a strong bond with you that it will last for eternity may we be fully committed and fully surrendered for we ask these mercies with thanksgiving in the mighty and the massless name of jesus amen amen you fill me up straight for the journey always enough when i am lonely or that everything i need love all around me don't never leave me alone and i'm ready to give up you won't let me though you keep holding me when i'm ready to give up you won't let me go you keep me out dbq juan holding [Music] to follow me [Music] won't [Music] god [Music] listen i know it's been a hard year some of you have been struggling but we have a big god that has big hands and he will never ever let you go so listen to the song right now you won't let me go you got me i know there's safety in your arms you won't let me go you won't let me go you got me [Music] when i'm ready [Music] [Music] holding me [Music] is [Music] safety [Music] amen amen praise the lord i'm thankful for that song that reminds us that our god will never let us go thank you very much vance family for uh that very special song we serve a god who will never let us go good morning everyone good afternoon good evening eve and good well i couldn't cancer good night i don't want to send you to to bed but whatever time it is wherever you're joining us from i want to greet you well in the wonderful name of our lord and savior jesus christ then it is so good for us to be alive and to be afforded the opportunity to worship our heavenly father and i really want to welcome you however you have joined us be it facebook youtube doubler ccn bless tv ncu radio ncu tv instagram whatever social media you have joined us by we just want to welcome you and greet you well i i know it has been difficult days for many individuals for a number of families these are have been very difficult days you have to say goodbye to some loved ones and especially in the parish of westmoreland has been heavily hit by the kovit 19 virus yesterday i was talking to pastor morgan from the waterworks circuit and he said pastor the parish has been seriously hit with covet 19 and it is right across our beloved country and we just have to keep strong in the lord jesus christ and sometimes you don't even know the full impact thereof until it has come home [Music] and today we continue to send condolences you heard the president mention it to his family his wife's family of the lust of a member of the family a loved one and we have to be comforted with the comfort to which we have comfort dead individuals god is not dead our god is still alive and he is with us he will never leave us or forsake us and truly we will overcome i want to say thanks to sister jody rose sister rose she is a poet by nature and when we had the footprints of hope online evangelistic series at the end thereof she wrote a beautiful poem of the entire series thereof we finished nature speaks and she wrote a beautiful poem of the experience of nature speaks i won probably afternoon or so we will have the privilege to read that poem but it is a beautiful poem thank you very much sister jody rose and may god continue to bless you and to grant added wisdom so that you can impact individuals through your poetic skills but one afternoon probably we will have the privilege of looking and reading that poem i'm really blessed by the poem that you have sent and may god continue to bless you a message today um steering wheel or spare tire steering wheel or spare tire i want to thank the members of the upper creek church in canada markham ontario canada who sent me a theme like this to share with them and i told them i was going to steal the theme and use it steering wheel our spare tire and today we are going to look at the power prayer because if it is one time that as a person as a people and as a church even as a country as a nation as a world if there is one time that we have to know and believe that there is power in prayer it is known and i want us to focus today [Music] on this very [Music] special weapon on this very special solution on this very special antidote that we have for a time like this it is prayer and so the subject will center around where the prayer is your steering wheel or your spare tire is prayer your steering wheel or is it your spare tire i know that there are some of us if not all of us in these days in these times have found ourselves in situations and in circumstances where sometimes you just feel that god is not there you feel as if you are not succeeding as one of my friends from hanover would have said feel that you are not winning feel as if your back is against the wall that want you to understand that in moments like these we have a special connection with the god of heaven and i say amen let's bow our heads as we pray father in heaven in the wonderful and sweet name of our lord and savior jesus christ we have come to you today we are grateful that we have the privilege to uh address you to approach the throne of glory of grace and mercy sinful though we be the merits of jesus christ has given us this wonderful privilege to approach you oh god we ask you now that you will once again anoint your servant please god put a fresh anointing on me anoint your word anoint your people the thousands who are connected to worship here in west jamaica conference who are viewing who are listening i pray almighty god that you will answer somebody's request today you will step forward in somebody's situation you will show forth your power you will show forth your miraculous intervention and i asked you lord that through the spoken word today somebody will be brought to conviction to conversion and to transformation in jesus name we pray amen and amen i begin the message with that humor mechanic [Applause] was in his workshop fixing motor vehicle he was removing cylinder heads and then he saw a famous heart surgeon walked into his garage and so he called the surgeon over called the doctor and said come over here doc the doctor went over the mechanic pointed at his work and so see here doc i also open hearts take out vault valves put in new parts and when i am finished this patient will run like new so why do you get pay paid the big money for basically doing the same thing that i am doing the wise doctor smiled leaned over and whispered to the mechanic and said try doing it while the engine is running try doing it while the engine is running there are times in the past and long ago that cards that were sold where all manual are standard you had manual brakes manual transmission manual locks and even if you have to turn the radio on it was manually done you had to turn a knob to get the radio on in time past days of old most if not all vehicles that were sold were manual or standard you had for for the air conditioning it was manual you have to turn down the window wind down the window and let the cool breeze come in and that was the air conditioning system manual everything in an evil in the genesis of motor vehicles it was that those early vehicles had to be manually cranked to get started manual steering and some of those cards you had to be very very physically strong to turn those steerings especially when you're traveling on bad roads without power steering it was a tedious man over at times but that's where motor vehicles are coming from now over the years cars have slowly became automatic and now it is full automatic we have automatic adjusted seats so you can adjust your seats by the push of a button you have automatic windows you have power lock system you are all automatic you have your automatic steering and your power steering you uh to turn on your stereo or your radio you don't have to touch it with your hand it is done automatically it is done with a remote and that's where as a matter of fact you can stay on the outside of your car you can stay in your house you can stay in your office and start your car and your car get ready for you to come that's so advanced and even more advanced now our motor vehicles cars are so built to automatically tell you uh when you need to service your vehicle when an oil change is needed when your transmission needs to be changed it automatically tells you that what a great shift what a great transition from manual to automatic to uh computerized cards today you can do so many things and by the way if you miss your way if you uh believe that you miss your way and you cannot find where you are going you don't have to worry anymore there is gps that will automatically tells you how to get out of where you are and how to find where you need to go you don't have to worry anymore your car will take care your motoveka will take care of all your needs because it has developed and come a far away from being manual to now being automatic and computerized and electronic but church hear me today somebody sad to say that society has gone also in in in the opposite direction in the reverse in our own lives we have gone from automatic to manual i must also let you know that as a church as christians we also have gone in the reverse healthy holy ghost today we have gone from automatic to manual what do you mean by that preacher what do you mean by that pastor williams hey hey friends we are connected if you're a child of god you you are connected to god you are connected to jesus christ and when you are connected to jesus there are certain things that come automatically but the truth of the matter is we have gone from automatic to manual hey hey somebody when you are connected with jesus in the right way it is automatic that you will read your bible it is automatic that you will pray it is automatic that you will share him with somebody else but as a people we have gone from automatic to manual we struggle to read the word we struggle to pray we struggle to worship we struggle to come out of of of our homes to church and covid has made it even worse kobe 19. has even made it worse some of us are struggling we're finding it difficult uh the interest is no longer fear the person asks me pastor i am concerned what the church would look like after kovid and i said to the person the concerned person i said yes i am concerned what the church would look like but i said to the person we are going to lose some members and i hope not but we have to face the reality but why the same covet 19 that will cause some members to go manual the same covet 19 will cause some members to go automatic the same covered 19 that will cause some to leave the church same covert 19 will cause others to join the church [Music] hey hear me somebody you don't worry about god's church god is in control and this church is gonna roll [Applause] on they if you follow prophecy you will discover that in the last days there are many who will yes [Music] uh leave the church there are many whose light will go out become fanatical there are many who will doubt god's word doubt the message without the leadership of the church but if you follow prophecy in the last days many will come to know jesus christ as lord and savior through his remnant church oh where the latter rain is poured out on god's church and i pray that the time is now when the latter rain is poured out on god's church thousands it will come and worship [Music] in god's church so your relationship must with god must be [Music] automatic some of us have a relationship still in the manual mode according to and so the theme steering wheel our spare tire did a little research and according to biography.com one famous lady by the name of tori corey ten boom was born in the netherlands in 1892 cory 10 boom grew up in a devoted religious family during world war ii she and her family saved about 800 jews [Music] nazi authorities it is sad that her own dutch citizens betrayed her and her family and they were imprisoned however after imprisonment she started a worldwide ministry and then she later told the story in a book entitled the hidden place many of cory's writing and by the way corey was her nickname were pet name many of cory's writing story surrounded the themes of love and forgiveness and then in her writings she asks a thought-provoking question which is our theme today is prayer your steering wheel or your spear tire in other words why do you pray do you pray for the lord to direct you in your life or do you pray just for god to help you whenever you're in trouble in other words is prayer the steering wheel is it the factor that guides your life or is prayer something that you whip up in case of an emergency is prayer like the spear tyre in the back of your car in the trunk of your car the spare tire that is forgotten the spare tire that is only used when there is an emergency the spare tire that is only used when you are deflated when you have a flat is prayer a spare tire or a sprayer your steering wheel is it that guides your life is it that navigate your path is prayer [Applause] steering will help me holy ghost today is prayer the first [Music] priority in your daily life or is prayer your last resort is it your steering wheel or is it your spirit tire a fb mayor said the greatest tragedy in life is not an answered prayer but unoffered prayer it is not an answered prayer that is a great strategy it is unoffered prayer prayer must be your steering wheel prayer must be that which guides your life that would guide everything that you do prayer must direct your life so that when it becomes necessary for your needs to be supplied god will supply your needs in philippians chapter 4 and verse 19 says and my god will supply every need all your needs not according to your desire but according to his riches in glory but i want you to know corey ten boom also made some uh other profound and fascinating quotations about prayer and its opposites and i want you to listen to some of these quotations they had me uh jumping the other nights when i did this research here in one of our quotations you can never learn that god is all you need until christ is all you have you can never know that christ is all you need until christ is all you have [Laughter] here is another quotation from her if you look at the world you will be distressed if you look within you will be depressed but if you look to christ you will be at rest come on somebody if you look at the world you will be depressed distressed if you look within you will be depressed but if you look to christ you will be at rest oh i'm gonna i'm gonna frame this one she also says that any concern too small to turn into prayer is too small to make into a burden any concern that is too small to turn into prayer is too small to be made into a burden prayer should be our steering wheel then she says worry does not empty tomorrow or sorrow it empties today a stranger heard i heard the the 14 parishes talking about joy this morning worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows it empties today of strange worry is like a rocking cheers he says it keeps you moving but does not get you anywhere [Music] prayer should be your steering wheel prayer should be what guides that directs that steers you into the journey to the direction that you want to go prayer must be something that you utilize on a daily basis prayer should be what you use to navigate your part every single day and if there's a time that we need to pray the time is now [Applause] prayer should not be a spirit tire and by the way spirit tire is constantly ignored prayer should be your steering wheel prayer protects us prayer changes things prayer keeps us in the will of god prayer keeps us connected with god prayer draws us closer to god prayer brings joy prayer brings happiness prayer gives hope prayer makes us less selfish prayer heals the wounded heart prayer delivers us from pain prayer makes us stronger prayer makes us connected and the holy spirit can you can i just talk to you i know my time is sticking but can i just talk to you i want to bring you back i want to bring you back to when you just accepted jesus christ as your lord and savior i want to take you back to when you just become i want to take you back to when you just believe i want to take you back to that moment when you just walk from the watery grave of baptism and you walk out a new person i want to take you back to that moment i want to take you back to that moment because in that moment prayer was not something that you struggled to do prayer came automatically sometimes you are just walking and you're praying sometimes you are just sitting down and you're praying you're standing up and you're praying are you hearing that take you back to those days take you back to when bible study was automatic and no your your tv was secondary your bible was primary hey hey hey i take you back when all other books were secondary and your bible was primary i take you back to those moments when you when you could not wait when you were so anxious to wake up to read the bible to pray hey hey hey i take you back when you were always early for savage school and take you back automatic but i even take you to today when many individuals oh help me holy ghost but i say it anyhow that the gospel in coving time we can testify has come to our living rooms come to our bedrooms i wish somebody understand where i'm going the gospel has come into our offices the gospel has come to our workplaces the gospel evil has come to our sick beds and there are some of us who would never even turn on that gadget there are some of us the gospel has come right home to us but we are on manual uh we find it difficult even to turn on the television to hear the word of god still a manual but it is time for us to get to automatic and to know that the prayer is not the spirit tire but prayer ought to be our steering wheel i hope somebody out there is hearing me take you back to the time when witnessing was indeed something that comes natural you could not you feel incomplete unless you share jesus christ with somebody get back to an automatic connection i'll let you know too and those of us who take it serious when you're traveling long distance in jamaica we don't have too many long journeys but those who have to travel long distance no that when you are going to travel in your vehicle there are certain things that you check not only check the interior but you also check certain oils you check your engine oil you check your transmission oil you check your your your water level in your radiator you check your brake fluid you check your power steering fluid you you check all these things you check your tires you uh if the tires are well inflated you check your steering your power steering uh but but really do we shake our spear tire some of us even forget that there is a spirit tire uh that is somewhere there and and friends the spirit tire is only used [Music] when we have a flat and most times it is only to take us to the service station and when it has taken us to the service station and we get back our regular tire put in the back of the vehicle in the trunk the spare tire is gone forgotten sometimes when we when we when we get a flat and we go for the spear tire we have to dust off with cobwebs we have to uh brush off uh the rust thereof and it is only when we get tried to use it we realize that the spirit tire itself is deflated spirit tire itself is flat because of spirit tire is forgotten spirit tire is only used to take you to one place but hear me a spare tire is on the use in emergency a spear tire is on the loose when you're in trouble but hear me today somebody prayer is not a spirit tire prayer is your steering wheel prayer is what guides your life prayer [Applause] is what will take you to where you want to go i wish somebody is understanding the preacher today that we cannot anymore uh just have prayer as a spirit tire we have to have it right before us as our steering wheel can't be our spirit tire thank god for prayer as our steering wheel and sometimes friends oh help me holy ghost some of us as drivers know that you have been traveling sometimes you're traveling on a fast pace and you have to break suddenly when you are breaking suddenly what do you hold on to help me holy ghost you hold on to your steering that's what keeps your balance hey when you're in trouble hold on to the power of prayer when you have to draw a certain break hold on to prayer [Applause] [Music] when you have to make a sharp turn oh help me holy ghost today when you have to make a sharp turn drivers is your steering wheel that helps you to maneuver that hey when you have to make a sharp turn in your life prayer can get you there a prayer can get you there prayer should not be your spirit tire prayer is our steering wheel oh god let me finish this message and and thanks be to god that when we have the power of prayer it can guide our lives i must tell you i must tell you i see my time going but i must tell you that we have some spear tyre christians we have some spear-tired christians that only call on god when they're in trouble if you have a friend and the only time you hear from the friend is when the friend is in trouble that's that's not a friend indeed are you hearing me [Laughter] oh help me holy prayer prayer is not like dialing 119 yes when you're in trouble you can call on god but prayer aren't not to be like an emergency number you just call it when you're in trouble your colleagues when you need special help hey hey prayer ought to be like a personal telephone connection with jesus christ you can tell him of your joys you can tell him of your successes you can tell him of your triumph and you can also tell him of your sorrows but prayer ought to be like talking to a friend hey god uh there hey have you heard i i i used to take note of some individuals as a use the opening sentence in prayer uh the parchment pass the parchment used to say our dear loving lord you you talk to god as if you're talking to a friend you talk to god as if you're talking to your best friend you don't have to call god and talk to him as if you're you're calling an emergency number you must be a constant communicator with god and you do it through prayer and you know oh the spirit i am going to get in trouble the spirit tire christians who call god only when they're in trouble always make some promises to god that's why god if you get me out of this one i will do this god if you can come through for me with this one i'll do this god if you are able to work this one out i i i serve you better i read my bible i pray more hell god if you just get me out of this one and once they get to the service station of heaven they're back in the trunk back being a spirit tire one day a young man was writing a letter to his girlfriend who lived just a few miles away from him in a nearby town among other things he was telling her how much he loved her and how wonderful he thought she was and the more he wrote is the more poetic he became and finally he said that in order to be with her he would suffer the greatest difficulties he would face the greatest dangers that any one could imagine in fact he said just to spend only one minute with you i would climb the highest mountain in the world i would swim across the widest river i would enter the deepest forest with my bare hands and fight the fiercest animals lyrics he finished the letter signed his name and then suddenly he remembered that he had forgotten to mention something quite important to her so he added p.s i will be over to see you wednesday night as long as it does not rain a man who would climb the highest mountain cross and swim across the widest river go to the deepest forest which is bare hand and fight mr lion and mr tiger and he said i will see you wednesday night if it doesn't rain spirit tire hear me somebody prayer should not be a spirit tire prayer should be our steering wheel and guess what it gets better when the steering wheel is fully powered hey hey life becomes more easy when your steering wheel is fully powered when your steering wheel is powered by prayer when your steering wheel is powered by almighty god life will become better you can drive through the roughest road you can go to the worst condition and you can be at ease because your steering wheel is fully powered help me holy ghost today steering wheel is fully empowered william carey william carey you cannot talk about prayer without talking about william kerry william kerry once he was reproached for spending so much time in prayer that he neglected his business and william kerry replied that supplication thanksgiving intercession were more important in life than laying treasures on earth akira says my real business is prayer prayer is my real business cobbling shoes is a sideline that pays my bills that take care of certain needs but prayer is my real business in this time of covid your real business your real connection with jehovah god is prayer your steering wheel is the power of prayer now because unless we have prayer we are not going to go anywhere i hate none so we asked you this morning or this afternoon what is directing your life is it a person is it a paycheck what is direct in your life what's there in your life is it your business is it your job is it your friend is it a relationship what is tear in your life what is guiding you help me holy is it cigarette is it sex is it ganja what is directing your life i've met young men who said pastor uh the first thing i do when i get up i have to smoke i can't just scrape and the last thing i do before i go to my bed i have to smoke a gun to scrape what is directing your life what is guiding your life is it your favorite television program is it a video game is it some medication is it uh political leaders there's some people who will hooked state of politics more than how the state of god is it a spouse a family friend what is directing your life who is directing your life i want to appeal to every seventh day adventist today that that which should be directing your life is what jesus is what god has given us to communicate with him it is prayer [Applause] let it guide your life and now come to a text that i want you to focus on i read the text tell you a few things and then i take my see turn your bibles to first kings chapter 18 first kings chapter 18. i read from verse 41 and sometimes you know i just love reading the word uh the word itself has power hey first kings chapter 18 from verse 41 then elijah said to ahab go up eat and drink for there is a sound of abundance of rain so ahab went up to eat and drink and elijah went up take note of this eli they have went up to eat and drink but elijah went up to the top of carmilla then he bowed down on the ground put his face between his knees and said to his servant go up now look toward the sea so he went up and look and said there is nothing and seven times he said go again then it came to pass the seventh time that he said there is a cloud as small as a man's hand hallelujah rising out of the sea so he said go up say to ahab prepare your chariot oh give me some more time prepare your chariot go down before the rain stop you now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind and there was a heavy rain so ahab rode away and went to jezreel and look at verse 48 sit up verse 46 sit up everybody concentrate on this verse let nobody disturb you because i'm gonna close with this verse and the hand of the lord came upon elijah and he girded up his loins and ran a head of ahab to the entrance of jezreel just hold that text just underline that verse let me quickly tell you as i put some context to this let me quickly tell you that all this started from chapter 17 when the man of god said to ahab and his wife jezebel that it will not rain until unless the word of the lord says it man cannot override the word of the lord it is only going to reign upon the council of god and so jezebel was mad and elijah went through and show some actions watch this negative ones elijah was scared so he ran for his life from jezebel elijah was a little selfishness came up because he ran left his servant then he was secluded he was alone so he was scared selfish to a certain extent secluded and then he was spent he said lord will you take my life he wanted to end his life so he was spent then he fell into self-pity he said lord i am the only one who is left alone faithful and the lord has to have to correct him and straighten him to say elijah there are seven thousand more out there who have the steering wheel as prayer there are several thousand more out there who are connected with me there are seven thousand more out there who are praying and then elijah was struggling elijah was struggling so god met him church of the living god somebody needs to hear me that when you are scared when you are secluded when you are spent that can feel like giving up when self-pity come upon you and you say lord i am the only one who is faithful when you are struggling there is the steering wheel a prayer that can guide your life [Applause] let me hasten on to tell you uh taking a few more minutes let me hasten on to tell you that there are times in your life when the season you're gonna face your dry season oh help me holy ghost today the time in your life when you're gonna face your dry season hey it was three and a half years now that it didn't rain it was a dry season but in the time of your dry season when it seems as if the crisis is on in the time of your dry season you must put your trust in almighty god put your trust in god god doesn't need need a lot of things god does not need much to work with all god needs is a little faith [Music] hey a servant came back and said all that i saw hallelujah was a little cloud like a man's feast somebody today needs to know that god does not need much to work miracles god doesn't need much for it to rain on your dry turf god all he needs hallelujah is a lick of fate hey it was just a little stick in the hands of moses and when the children of israel met to the red sea god did not panic god said stand still and see the salvation when the children of israel came to jericho hey god did not panic god said put on your matching shoes because the walls of jericho are going to come down when the disciples were in a storm god did not panic all god did jesus that stood up and say peace i wish somebody understand somebody in the chat can shout hallelujah praise the lord because in the midst of your dry season god is able to say peace be [Music] still servants that i saw i saw just a little face i saw hey hear me somebody that's why prayer must be your steering wheel take note that when others were doing when ahab was eating and drinking when ahab went to eat and drink what did the servant of god did the servant of god went up to mount carmel put his head beneath his between his feet and bow down prostrate himself before god because it's time for intercession if you want to make it if you want to go through life if you want to overcome when others are eating and drinking you must be praying to almighty god somebody need to hear me when others are merry-making when others are having fun you need to be if you want to make it if you want to succeed if you want to overcome you can't do like others eating and drinking and mary making ahab was eating but the prophet was talking to his god [Applause] and hear me when you're in facing your dry season pray because when you pray hallelujah you can see things that others can't see when you pray you can hear things what others can't hear elijah said to the servant listen man i seen it in my spirit i've heard it go back and look because it is out there i'm talking to god and i know it [Music] but it took it took the servant seven look to see what elijah was able to see through the power of prayer somebody need to shout hallelujah [Applause] i know i'm st let me let me run past this in your drive season how to overcome your dry season get down on your knees in prayer don't stop praying because prayer gives you hope prayer helps you to hear what others can't hear prayer help you to see what others can see the servant said master is just a little cloud just a little cloud but i hear somebody singing in the church i hear somebody shouting in a living room servants and all that i saw was a little cloud like the fists of a man's a man's feast but i heard somebody singing little is much when god is in it labor nuts for welter fame there's a crown and you can win it if you go hallelujah if you go if you go in jesus name hey hey hey moses had just a liquor rod but it parted the red sea david had a little slingshot but it brought down the light the giants hey a little boy had uh some fish and a few barley loaf but it fed 15 000 or more individuals when god is in it you can win it oh i wish i have somebody to high five but it's called with 19. when god is in it you can win it [Music] oh somebody in the chat need to type that and believe it type it in the church when god is in it you can win it [Applause] oh thanks for the time thanks for the extra time but i want to close taking you back if you look at verse 41 prophet said to ahab get ready it's gonna rain look at verse 42 they have gone to eat elijah gone to pray look at verse 44 prepare your chariot prepare your chariot because you have to go ahead because it's going to rain but thank you for giving me the few minutes to close this message in this way and then to tell you a few quotations from ellen white and then i promise you after the quotations from ellen white i will take my seat [Music] watch this now sit up everybody stay focused did the bible say that elijah said to ahab you go ahead go on ahead take the lead because it's don't let this rain catch you because if this rain catch you you are in trouble hey hey hey you just work with the preacher whether it is exegetically sound or not this is how the preacher sees it so ahab took off in his chariot reyna come with the chariots hey but the bible says the hand of the lord was upon elijah and then elijah put on his gurgle girth of his ways and then elijah took off hallelujah but guess what my bible says elijah pass ahab moving chariots are you hearing me somebody when god's anointing is on you nothing can stand in your way [Applause] oh forgive this forgive the old forgive the country preacher but see elijah ahab was trusting in his horses trusting in his chariot some trusting horses some trusting chariots but i i i will depend on the name of the lord [Applause] guess who won the race guess who won the race elijah on his feet empowered by the holy ghost reach the gate and say ahab you just come god is in your life through the power of prayer you don't need anything to win this race you are fully powered hey you see some advertisement now for cars car dealers have some advertisement that show you what the vehicle can do cross rivers climb a mountain and do anything but when you are powered by jehovah god you can cross any stream climb any mountain because you're fully powered through the steering wheel of prayer ellen white and then i close ellen white says we do not value the power of prayer as we should we do not value the power of prayer and the efficacy of prayer as we should prayer and faith will do what no power on earth can accomplish we are seldom in all respects place in the same position twice we continually have new scenes and new trials to pass through where past experience cannot be sufficient to guide we must have the continual light that comes from god and that quotation is found in ministry of healing page 509 she said prayer keeps us in the power of god the strength acquired in prayer to god will prepare us for our daily duties the temptations to which we are daily exposed make prayer a necessity in order that we may be kept by the power of god through faith the desires of the mind should be continually ascending in silent prayer when we are surrounded by influences calculated to lead us away from god our petitions for help and strength must be unwavered unless this is so we shall never be successful in breaking down pride and overcoming the power of temptation to sinful indulgences which keeps us from the savior the light of truth sanctifying the life will discover to the receiver the sinful passions of his heart which are striving for the mastery and which make it necessary for him to stretch every nerve and exert all his powers to resist satan that he may conquer through the merits of christ messages to young people page 248 and then my final quotation even a brief prayer can bring spiritual power i prayed he said nehemiah said i prayed to the god of heaven and that's all what nehemiah wrote i prayed i prayed to the god of heaven in this brief prayer nehemiah pressed into the presence of the king of kings and one to his side a power that can turn hearts as the rivers of waters our turn today friends make prayer your steering wheel and not your spare tire and god will take your cross waters valleys over hills mountains you will have power to outrun any earthly challenge when god's anointing is upon you through prayer as the song is done i want every worshiper today to recommit oneself to the lord and if you have not yet surrendered to jesus do it now thank god for the baptisms [Music] lord is not so busy that he can eat and mend your brother [Music] thank you jesus and your burdens they're not too heavy that he can hear a plea [Music] don't give up even though you're scared give up even though you're secluded [Music] even though you're struggling don't give up please [Music] god [Music] don't be discouraged don't be defeated you feel life is hopeless and the night has no end there is hope for your herding hearts [Applause] for he will be there with you no matter what you're going through it's time to pray god still [Music] decision [Music] [Applause] call your pastor satan if it is time you need to surrender in baptism do it [Music] god still answered do prayer now it's prayer time for satan he has lost the bad he has lost [Music] hallelujah and our god in heaven what a reminder you have given us today you have empowered your manservant to declare with authority and clarity the words of scripture that reminds us that this powerful privilege of prayer is not just a spear tyre but it must be the steering of our lives it must be our source of direction and lord we come before you now thanking you for the word thanking you for your manservant thanking you for this potent reminder even as we ask you to forgive us for treating it as if it is a spare tire we go to prayer sometimes only when it is we are in deep distress when we can't do anything else we will hang on to prayer we will call on you when we are at the verge of death or disaster or embarrassment we will come in prayer when we are in difficult moments but we have not been been making prayer a habit and father we ask you to forgive us of this great evil and give us the strength to restore to be restored to the point lord when when we will come to you at every moment we will not allow a day to pass we will not allow a moment to pass we will not allow an hour to pass before we consult you but we will be constant in prayer we'll be praying without ceasing we'll be praying with all diligence will be seeking direction will be seeking protection and your provision in all that we do fathering heaven we are asking now that you will revive us again you'll revive in our hearts this thirst to talk with you this thirst call on your name in all circumstances so that you can direct our lives we pray our father for those who have neglected prayer so much that they have drifted into the world they have forgotten you they will every now and again they will call on your name but now oh god you have brought to their consciousness that it is important to seek you in everything that they do we are praying that you will give them the strength you will bring them back from the pits of sin and death for lord we recognize that death is not just physical but the spiritual death is even worse than the physical one the spiritual death deprives us of the joy of your presence the physic the spiritual death deprives us of the privilege of enjoying the peace which passes all understanding the spiritual death will bring us to the place where our soul becomes becomes so dark and dismal that it is impossible to see your face and it becomes difficult to experience your power but father today we are asking that you will shine a light in our souls and give us a new start give us a fresh start give us oh god the impetus to pray even when we don't feel like praying remind us that the enemy is always encroaching on the soul and his desires of destroying and bringing us to the the grave without having a connection with you so father give us renew our prayer life renew our connection with you renew our commitment to you and help us to find it a greater joy to talk with you than even the talk with our dearest friend bless us now oh father and be with those who are making that decision to get baptized in jesus name we pray and say amen and amen today my brothers and sisters after such a word from god's men's servant we are truly thankful that god has given us this opportunity to be able to celebrate with one person who is deciding to give his heart to the lord we are very grateful that god has blessed him with the kind of insight to recognize that in this life it is not just to live but it is to live for jesus christ and so at this time we'll be doing going through the vows with him we'll be seeking uh his affirmation public affirmation that he is in agreement with the decision to become a member of the seventh-day adventist church and we we know that heaven is rejoicing we know that you are rejoicing at home and we know in his heart he is excited and we we are grateful as well that the lord has given pastor williams such a word for such a time as this and for those of you who are watching for those of you who need to surrender your hearts to jesus do not let today pass you don't know what tomorrow may bring but today you have today life in a saving relationship with him amen you may say i do or you may raise your hand so the rest of us can see you see we can't read lips under the mask so work with us do you accept the teachings of the bible as expressed in the statement of fundamental beliefs of the seventh day adventist church and do you pledge by god's grace to live your life in harmony with these teachings amen do you desire to be baptized as a public expression of your belief in christ jesus to be accepted into the fellowship of the seventh-day adventist church and to support the church and its mission as a faithful steward by your personal influence tithes and offerings and a life of service amen he has answered in the affirmative to all the questions we are i'm going to ask at this time that a member
