My NEW Hair Secret.

[Music] hey guys it's jess welcome back to my channel so today's video i'm gonna show you guys how i went from this to this nice luscious beautiful twist out a full hair voluminous and all but i have to tell you she was not born with it it's from better length hair it is a protective style it is a half wig i didn't tell you all that but i just wanted to see if anyone would catch on but apparently not so this is the hair that i got it's actually a 4b 4c texture it is a half wig and a size small cap size it has the two combs in the front and a comb on the back and an adjustable strap so i'm just gonna go ahead and um wash or co-wash the hair just because when it comes straight out of the pack it's a little stiff and i wanted to kind of loosen it up and get it to its like natural texture this is it with no product water only and this is what the curl pattern looks like so i'm going in with this briochio superfoods conditioner i'm just using it because it smells extremely fantastic so i'm just gonna go ahead and co-wash the hair and prep it for today's style [Music] so after the hair is all co-washed and detangled i'm just going to let it sit on this towel and air dry for a little while and i just want to show you guys the texture again with no product nice and fluffy beautiful natural looking hair so with my own hair i'm going to just twist the whole entire back and that's why i love this style because now i can protect my own hair and one disclaimer because people say this all the time whenever i use extensions they're like why do you need extensions your hair is already long protective styling is not only specifically for people who have two inches of hair the way to have long hair and keep long hair is by continuously protecting it all the time so i'm going to cut off those straps that are connecting the wig together so that now it's open and it becomes a complete half wig so they call it a half wig but it doesn't only cover half of your hair it's really a three-quarter wig but that's neither here nor there so i'm just gonna clip the clips to the top of my hair and leaving my leave out out and i'm really just clipping it right now because i don't have like a wig stand or like a wig head um you could do it on one of those if that's easier for you and just keep the straps on while you twist up the hair since i don't have one i'm using my real head so that i can apply the twist to my hair so i'm just clipping it on in the way that it's going to be clipped in the morning so i'm letting my real hair out and then i'm going to begin to twist the um the wig hair so i'm just going to spritz it with water and i'm going to be using the design gel by main choice this gel is really really good i've used it on a twister on my own hair and it really keeps the twists nice and firm and the curl pattern is a fantastic because the texture is so good so that's the product that i'm going to use that's the only product i'm using just the design gel and water and i will leave all the links in the description box but yeah i'm just going to twist up my hair i'm using like small to medium sections some of them are like medium we're just going to call it medium i'm using medium sections on each part and then my twists on top are going to be a little bit smaller so that it can blend really well with the hair so as you guys can see this curl pattern of this hair is so beautiful especially when the gel is added i think it's going to look really good as a wash and go also when i do that later on um but it's really versatile and i like the options that it gives me um but most importantly i just love that my hair will be protected and it matches my hair so well but you guys will see that in a little bit [Music] all right so here i am with the full headed twist i have six of my real hair it's six twists on top and then the rest is twisted with the wig so great thing about this i'm gonna have a fantastic sleep because i'm about to pop this right back off right back off no clips in my head while i'm sleeping or nothing i really enjoy that so much so i'm gonna pop it off and let it air dry even more at night and this is just what the twists look like right now so this is the next morning my hair is 100 dry the wig is 100 dry and we are going to get into these edges i'm using the she is bomb edge control and just to kind of get my edges slicked down a little bit and have a little bit more of a polished look so i'm just going to put those on my edges [Music] alright so my hot girl summer wig is ready nice and fully dried to be plopped onto my head so also we're not going to talk about how my roots have been playing me so much and just coming in light brown we'll talk about that in another video but yeah i'm just going to place the halfway clips right underneath my twist as close as i can get it so there's not too much of a separation and then i'm going to begin to separate the twists nice and carefully and here is the twist pattern or the curl pattern that it gave nice and cheeto looking oh they're so nice i love them so much i just knew that it was gonna it was gonna be a good day it was gonna be a good day so um yeah this wig really did understand the assignment it really did it really did so yeah i'm just going to go ahead and go ahead and um what i'm going to say oh girl okay so i'm just going to take these twists out of my head or out of the wig and then i'm going to start to separate them lightly so that they won't be too uniform oh my gosh look that's good good stuff right there but moving right along we're going to go ahead and separate the twists or separate the curls so that the hair is not too uniform and that it'll match more with my hair because my hair don't come out super uniform like that so we gotta you know judge it up just a little bit and give it some character give it some body some fluff and some life [Music] so one thing about protective styling is that you do have to put in work also like you still have to do the things that you would do to your hair as if your hair was out so i'm still going to be oiling my scalp on top of the wig and the hair that's underneath the wig as well oiling and doing scalp massages um weekly so that i'm still you know protecting my hair and making sure my hair is not dried up underneath this wig so i'm taking my twists out of my real hair and just trying to get it to blend in perfectly or as perfect as i can get it with the half wig so i'll be just doing a little bit of separating a little bit of hair placement and making sure there's no gaps so that the wig track doesn't show on top and i'm going to fluff it out with my pick by pg and give it a little bit more shape and body and life and then the last thing i'm going to do is get the top part of my hair slick down a little bit just for that last final finishing touch polish it up just a little bit and then we'll pretty much be done [Music] so i just want to give it up for the back of the wig not a track inside you don't have to worry about the wind blowing in the back of your hair being exposed this is the curl pattern it looks so natural like this really does look like my natural hair shout out to better length for giving us what we deserve all summer long really think this is going to be a staple of mine so if you guys tell me my hair looks good and i say thank you
