[Music] hey guys it's jess welcome back to my channel so i'm so sorry i've been gone for so long and even though i just posted two videos like i recorded those like a month ago so i just want to say sorry i've been gone i've been going through some technical difficulties and life has been crazy but anyways today i want to bring to you guys a twist out video i haven't done a twist out on my hair in a very very very long time i've been sticking to watching goes but let's not forget where we came from okay let's not forget the foundation of where natural hair has been built okay let's get the twist outs back into my rotation so i'm just going to show you guys how i get the perfect twist out every single time and i'm not even gonna lie i recorded this video before the twist out came out so good but the product i used was so bad anyways the product that i use gave me flakes on flakes on flakes it was absolutely insane but i said all that just to say we're doing it again and it's gonna be great so um i washed my hair this morning and then i just ran some errands so i just did this quick hair thing she's gonna take these out real quick all right so here we are so the first thing i'm gonna do is split my hair into four sections so i have two up here one back here and then one flying free back here what i'm going to do really quick is just go through this section and finish this first section to make sure i've got the the finger motion and make sure the products that i'm using together work well and then i will come back and do this side with you guys all right so i went ahead and did the back section of my hair to get a good shot okay so for me how i get the perfect twist out well maybe not every time but most times when i have a successful twist out obviously you want to start off on freshly washed hair did that already detangled did that already and then really depending on the length of your hair i do believe that the size of the twist counts a lot like if your hair is a bit shorter you definitely don't want to do like chunky twists because you know you're just not there yet the chunkier the twists with shorter hair the less defined it's going to be the smaller the twist the more defined it's going to be so these are really going to come out extremely defined yeah so these are a little bit smaller than i normally would have done them on accident but i don't i don't think it should make that much of a difference so i'm just gonna do the same thing over here i'm just gonna use my spray bottle to dampen my hair a little bit and you guys are always always always asking where i get the spray bottle from i got mine from sally's i'll try to link i'll try to link the exact one in my description box and you guys can go crazy on that right there go ahead and detangle your hair so as you can see i work in small to medium sections for my hair length like i said once when your hair gets longer you can do chunky twists or whatever but the shorter the hair i believe the smaller the twists should be now very key very key is to use products that actually work for your hair i had to learn this the hard way because there are products that really make your hair look good but they flake so what i did i decided to use products that i use on my wash and go that i know never fail me so i'm going in with the queen the queen talia wajeed you guys already know i have feelings for her this is my ride or die we go way back this is my boo and then hello no surprise here so this is what i use for a majority of my wash and go's and the definition always comes out bomb and i have zero flakes so i'm expecting the same behavior for today hello okay the same behavior for today's twist out so i'm using just a decent size of the twisting cream i mean the curling cream by taliyah of course i will leave all the product of course i'll leave all the products in the description box and i make sure i saturate it to the point where like my curls are starting to pop a little bit because you know i got that low porosity so i got to work everything in and then i put the gel on top a thin layer not anything too thick because i don't really want it crunchy i just want a good hold so now that we've got this together slip my hair in two like so two pieces and then i just start working down also make sure with this twist out that you're twisting the hair in between your fingers like so as you're twisting down because it also gives it like a nice curly fry type of look you know what i'm saying y'all know what i'm talking about and then like midway down actually i'm pretty far down but if i feel like it's getting a little crusty and a little tangled i will just detangle again really quick and then go all the way down and then as usual when i get to the bottom i will coil it around my fingers and voila they start shrinking up they get back to like a juicier juicier size and not this like skinny thing like this is not what we want no so i mean there really is nothing to it but to do it again really the important things is to make sure your hair is detangled very well and the reason i say that is because it helps so much with the takedown process like if your hair is tangled on the takedown you can just pretty much bet on automatic frizz immediately you have no chance he has zero chance yeah so you want to make sure it's detangled thoroughly make sure you're starting off on a clean slate because that will help with the um product flaking and then make sure you have two really good products that work for your hair type the curly curl cream i've been talking about it for years and a lot of you guys would always say like i got the curly curl cream and it worked really well so as far as i'm concerned the curly curl cream it really is for all hair types like it has not let me down or any of my subscribers down yet no one has given me any bad reviews so i'm down with the curly curl cream i did you never just know when a twist out is going to be good i'm feeling good i am a good twist out is in my future it's on the horizon it will be happening i really think that is pretty much all the application tips i have for right now so i'm just going to run through and do these twists on camera for you guys the rest of the tips really are for tomorrow the application is just as important as the takedown or should i say the takedown is just as important as the application so should we take a moment nevermind we're not gonna talk about the length we're not gonna wait did you say something about my name girl i wasn't gonna say anything but uh you know hello okay okay just a quick friendly reminder all right i'm just gonna go ahead and run through the rest of my hair there's something special about you and i almost really like you cause not a lot [Music] [Music] [Music] like and it feels like [Music] one [Music] sure [Music] oh [Music] okay so i'm all done with all of my twists honestly i think this might be the smallest i've ever done them i'm a little nervous for the size to come out but basically what i'm gonna do i'm gonna sit underneath a dryer for like an hour for tonight and then let my hair air dry the rest of the night and into the morning and then tomorrow morning we'll be back for the takedown and for the important steps of the process for tomorrow so be blessed make sure you sleep with your satin cap and we will see y'all in the morning hey guys so it's two days later my hair is completely completely dry and i just put these bands in my hair to stretch my hair i'm trying a little bit of a different stretching method instead of using heat excuse me y'all i have such a huge headache right now and i feel like i'm about to throw up all over the place i'm just trying to trying to keep it together and this light shining in my face is not helping anyways yeah i'm trying a different stretching method so i just went ahead and banded my hair which i do after i usually blow dry my hair but i just went ahead and banded my hair while they were still in the twists to see if this can stretch my hair without using heat heat is not horrible but heatless it's just always the better option so i'm just going to take these out really quick okay so here are my twists to be honest i'm not really sure how well stretching it without heat works for my hair we're going to see if somebody take these twists out if i'm feeling it i may be i may not be but whatever in the meantime i'm going to take um some hair oil and put it on my hand so that i can go ahead and take my twists down wow this is this oil is thick on them whoa also very key when taking your twist down to make sure you have hair not hair that you have oil on your fingers because this can help eliminate frizz so much um but i'm gonna put my hair up just gonna start with this first twist back here and i'm gonna start midway through and just separate and pull apart and then go all the way to the top separate again and pull apart and there we have hello girl oh that's nice so that's all i'm really gonna do just start from like the middle and then go to the top to pull them apart [Music] shout out to the product combo i don't see a flake in sight [Music] wow check it out come on definition oh my gosh that's so good this looks so good yes ma'am hello hello all right so i'm gonna go ahead and take out this other side and then i will be back oh get into this i'm speechless i don't know get into this curl pattern my friends do do y'all see do y'all see this i can't be the only one that says this uh oh i've got a feeling that tonight's gonna be a good night okay oh my head ah okay so last and final important detail or maybe not the last one but and now this is extremely important this is where most people mess up everything they've worked so hard for including myself i've messed it up a few times but it's the separating so if you're someone who likes to separate your hair for a little more uh volume you kind of have to see where the hair separates this one yeah spread it a little bit this one's giving me some options i just split it like in two if i can't really take them apart i'll give it a little split and call it a day my hair isn't the best with separating some people's hair really just gives them like straight red sea parting my hair doesn't really do that once you split it apart try to coil it back around your fingers so that the girls are still in formation so yeah just gonna go ahead and split these not every single one needs to be split sometimes the girls just have to stay together you know what i'm saying some of them i can find a pretty good splitting ground and then i'll just go ahead and split them so you want to split and recoil to the best of your ability mine now my problem was um i would always forget which direction to recoil if you call your hair in the wrong direction it's going to frizz up so you kind of have to see which way you twisted your hair and then coil that way your hair will kind of show you where to where to coil so yeah it really depends on how you twisted your hair like i know for me on this side of my head on the right side of my head i'm going to be coiling backwards on this side of my head i might i think i'm coiling forward on that side so it really depends on how you put your twist into your head um that'll tell you which way to coil your hair when you're taking them out we're almost there girl [Music] okay come on somebody the hair is speaking for itself right now i don't think i have to say very much so i'm actually not going to so yeah this is really pretty much it for me personally i'm going to stretch my hair i'm just going to stretch it out a little bit i'm going to do it off camera because i do have a full how i stretch my hair video it's always the same the banding i don't know if it really worked for me as much as i would have liked it to so i'm going to stretch my hair out just a little bit and then i'm going to come back to you guys when my hair is fully done but i just wanted to show you guys if you wanted to stop here this is what a nice uh beautiful a healthy successful twist out should come out looking something like so here it is here's the back i always leave a twist in are we focused yeah i always end up leaving a twist in but i think i might have got them all this time good stuff all right so i'm just going to finish my hair and show you guys my finished product all i'm going to do just so you know just stretch my hair fluff it out and then put some edge control right here so you're not really missing anything i do this all the time but for today's sake and the stuff that's going on i'll just do it off camera and then i'll be back okay guys so here's my hair stretched i'm sorry but nothing so far in my natural hair journey has beat the hair dryer stretching i've tried the banding without heat and while the blah blah blah yada yada the the blow dryer just does what it needs to do and it does it on time so that's just what i'm going to keep on doing until i find something better oh anyways i hope you guys enjoyed this video here is a close-up of my hair yes hunty i hope you guys enjoyed it and i will see you guys in my next video [Music] bye
