Some of these have been a big flop, but this one seems to work at least occasionally. It might work better if the sleeve was aluminum and the drill bit protruded out the front a bit. Nothing wrong with a little aerodynamic stability to go with the twist.
Isn't this what rifled slugs are for? These seem way too unbalanced and rough.
I think this one is the first that's actually spins
The idea was a failure from the start if you ask me. Without it being forced to spin, it will hardly spin on it own during flight. In addition, the air in front of the projectile create a sort of barrier that prevent further air from flowing through.
Great concept, but once again, reality breaks hearts.
