welcome back to soviet everything guys you saw the thumbnail today we're gonna try to make a stick incredible by making the actual fat way more expensive than the steak is it gonna work well we're gonna find out again check it out steak and fat it is the perfect marriage however cooking steaks in 200 worth of fat is that gonna be good there's only one way to find out and everything starts off with this it is a japanese wagyu a5 fat the wonderful thing about my meat dealer is that he can provide this to anyone at any time the fact that we are able to buy these trimmies from japanese wagyu a5 fat is awesome this really allows me to make some crazy experiments to see if they work and once i removed it from the back this is what it looks like i'm telling you friends this is not like any regular fat you find on your supermarket japanese wagyu a5 fat is very unique think of it like butter if you hold butter with your fingertips it melts and so does this fat but not only does it melt quickly it has a very unique flavor and today this is exactly what we're going to be using to cook our steaks the most important thing i have to do is to render this nice and slow so for that i threw everything into my cast iron skillet now this is 100 optional but adding a little bit of more flavor is always good so i threw in a little bit of thyme and garlic i'm hoping that this would translate to an incredible flavor into this fat and to ensure i have plenty of fat i just added a little bit more from previous cook let me tell you something you can never have enough japanese yu a5 fat now the only thing i have to remember is to put it in the oven so that it can render nice and slow the last thing you want is to put it under high heat making it nice and slow will avoid it getting bitter and that is crucial let the oven do its thing because it's gonna take some time mine took about six hours and as you can see once i was done everything rendered without getting burned even the thyme and garlic have a nice golden color that is exactly what you're looking for now the only thing left to do is to go ahead and strain it because once you have done so you are left with this it is what i like to call liquid gold i mean not only is it japanese wagyu a5 fat but it also has an amazing flavor from the thyme and garlic just imagine putting this on a toast now that is what i'm talking about but for today you already know the experiment and for that i'm going to be using these beautiful steaks that is exactly what you're looking for whenever you buy steaks even though they are not prime grade they are choice and you can see that the marbling is awesome and that is why i have a good meat dealer he always gets me the best stuff for the seasoning i kept it very simple i added a good amount of salt followed by freshly ground black pepper and garlic powder one of the most important things whenever you're cooking a steak is to make sure that you season it well under seasoned meat is not good so make sure whenever you're seasoning yours to ensure that you cover the whole thing now let me explain how this experiment is gonna go down the first one is going to be a control steak there's gonna be nothing inside of the bag except a nice beautifully seasoned steak the second one on the other hand after throwing it in the bag i added the japanese wagyu a5 rendered fat now you don't need to use the whole thing you just want to make sure that it coats the whole steak then vacuum seal it and it's now ready to really test this out i decided to bring another steak into the game i did the same exact thing with the seasoning just salt freshly ground black pepper and garlic powder however instead of using the expensive fat i'm just gonna use olive oil that way we're really going to be able to tell if there's any difference between them or not now the only thing left to do is to vacuum seal them and get them ready for the water bath that is perfect because it allowed me time to go ahead and make a side dish and usually this is what i like to do make bungee caju if you've never tried this brazilian cheese bread man you don't know what you're missing they are delicious and if you want to make some i'll put it on the description down below for you but today i decided to do something a little bit easier and different to try it out to see if it's going to be good and instead of making individual cheese bread i just decided to make one big large pie now i'm still working on this recipe and it is not perfect yet but if you want to try it at home as always remember the exact amount and ingredients always on the description down below for you one of the greatest things about this recipe is that you just gotta throw everything into the blender there's not much to do that is as easy as it gets once that's done i boarded up a cast iron skillet and throw half of my dough in there spread it all out added a good amount of mozzarella cheese right in the middle and finished it off with the dough then i threw it into the oven to bake at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 30 minutes once the time was up i took it out and this is what i was left with now appearances wise i am not happy with it but the smell is exactly like boundary queso and shortly me and my cousin are going to find out if it's the same taste but now that we have everything ready the only thing left to do is to go ahead and cook these steaks and for that i'm going to be throwing them in the water bath at 135 degrees fahrenheit for two hours [Music] i got my beautiful steaks ready to go as you know i cook them at 135 degrees fahrenheit for two hours now here's the deal they look kind of weird because they're floating on that fat everybody that comfy style is kind of weird at the same time is it gonna be good well we're gonna find out right now i'll tell you one thing as soon as i cut up the bag open and the wagyu steak wasn't there the smell hit me and it smells incredible everybody the waggy one i am really looking forward to it but i know what you're thinking i know my steaks don't look that good right now but watch this [Music] all right everybody here we have our beautiful feast today mom are you hungry my mom the steaks are looking beautiful but this gotta be the plainest pizza i've ever seen yeah that is very true it is also an experiment it looks horrendous everybody's awesome i know rice mixes pineapple yeah you like pineapple on a pizza oh my god oh they're gonna roast you right now my mom no no you guys give me a give me a a boat over there okay try that bunny pizza pineapple and what ham that's why you like it hawaiian stuff mama likes pineapple ham on a pizza everybody comment down below let me know if that's a good thing a bad thing for you sauce oh my god oh my god seriously barbecue sauce sometimes oh man i like barbecue sauce and chicken but not barbecue sauce pineapple and all that okay well mama has a weird taste everybody so this is what it is to my defense i was trying to make punch cage but i was trying to make punch instead of making the little balls i just let's say you know what let me try something let me try something here what you're going to go for it already mom let me try okay try tell me if it's good tell me if it tastes like a punch cage it's like a bunch it tastes like a punch cage but it looks horrendous everybody it looks like i definitely forgot tomato sauce or something if you never had boundary queso it's a it's a bread where instead of being doughy it's cheesy yeah and gooey gooey cheese do it cheesy oh my god it's going to be so good with a steak in the middle i know that's why i did it you know maybe put something else i'm still working on a better recipe but if you guys want to go ahead and give it a try i'll put it on the description down below other recipe so that you can try to make it at home so we're going to go for today from this direction to that one and i want to know which steak is better that's all i want to know you tell me which one is good which one is better and which one is really bad at all look at my mine's ready i'm ready i was born for this that's right that's right cheers everybody so tender so juicy so amazing so delicious what do you think mamazi perfect beefy juicy crispy everything outside everything you expect yeah all right let's go for this one here so as you can tell this one is our baseline control yes that is the base and we want to know if any other one will improve from that cheers everybody different different immediately yeah delicious yeah it's still good it's not bad it's not as flavorful as the other one missing the beefiness it's missing some flavor mama you know what it is is you can definitely tell immediately everybody when you put anything extra on the back which is what i did i put some extra stuff in the bag it gets diluted the flavor and the flavor kind of disappears a little bit and this steak right here which is the control steak definitely better so mamazine i actually put olive oil inside there okay now this one is very different you have never tried that one before big words i don't know if you should be scared or not very third one cheers everybody wow oh i was not expecting that you lost some of that beefiness like the other one but it does have a little extra flavor on top of it a little almost umami like mama which one do you prefer i prefer the first one i agree with you the first one is still better but at the same time there's some extra flavor in here which makes the steak very unique okay this one was with wagyu fat expensive rendered wagyu fat and the fat leaves a little yeah like a little coating of flavor in your mouth that is not hard to describe yeah it's like uh you could tell that there's something extra on this steak but at the same time the rule of thumb still stay as is do not put anything in the bag i highly recommend you saving that wagyu fat money and buying some more steaks and making some amazing soupy steaks all right save all that i want you fat money man let me tell you it is not gonna make your steak better all right unless you're gonna do some
