i spent 679 pound and 10 pence on that palette of return goods and in this video i'm going to open it up i'm going to show you guys what's inside and i'm going to try and sell it all for a profit so a little bit of backstory i noticed these videos popping up on youtube and it's actually something a family friend did 20 or 25 years ago now long before we had access to ebay they would buy these pallets and then sell them at local car boot sales and honestly i think that's where a lot of my passion for reselling actually stems from so i decided to give it a go myself i simply googled returns palettes uk and found a bunch of different companies selling these pallets now depending on the category you're looking at prices can be anything from 10 of the original rrp up to around 30 of the original rrp and in the end i used a company called gem wholesale this isn't a sponsored video i just figured that you guys will probably want to know who i used and do your own research if you're interested in picking one of these up now most companies will give you a catalogue of what's inside each palette alongside a quick photo here's a quick look at the catalogue for the palette i purchased as you can see there's 33 items in total with an rrp of 2700 pound and 71 pence now for the palette i paid 485 pound and 92 plants plus v80 at 20 which was an additional 113 pound and 18 plants plus shipping at 80 pound which brought my total to 679 pound and 10 pence which is actually around 25 of the original rrp however a couple of notes firstly the rrp tends to be super inflated and doesn't account for retailers ever discounting the products which is quite often done second these are returns so while we know what's inside the pallet itself we don't know if these items work or if it's complete or if it's boxed and in a relatively decent condition ultimately it's a big gamble buying one of these pallets so i ordered the palette on a tuesday evening and while you can pay extra for next year deliver it i figured 80 pound economy was just enough so i decided to go with that instead as a result it arrived on friday afternoon now one major concern i had here is that nobody ever text me or called me to say what day it'd be delivered or what time it'd be delivered and luckily i was in but assuming i was getting it delivered to a local lock-up or a warehouse well how would i be expected to know when it's going to arrive and to be there for the delivery i'm not sure now it took us around an hour or two to break down the pallets so in my opinion the profit's really depending on the three most expensive items which in this case is the mountain bike the shark vacuum cleaner and whatever that scooter thing is there so i'm gonna open these up and i'm gonna see what sort of condition they're in it then took us a further four hours to remove everything from their shipping boxes and test everything i think this would have gone on a lot longer if we'd have not had a few big wins [Music] true [Music] oh it's just a shame there's no bolts to attach it all together and as i mentioned earlier in total there were 33 items and of those 33 items four of them were damaged this included the elsa styling head a yankee candle that was smashed to pieces some garden stair clients which were bent and then a dji osmo mobile three i've no idea what was wrong with that thing i don't think the gimbal works very well really sure um i am trying to fix it i just don't know how in the time of you're fixing it's gonna break the phone no so my aim for this palette was to sell stuff quickly and easily using facebook marketplaces it required no shipping people would likely come within the next day or so to collect it there was no fees and no messing about with postage and packaging however this didn't entirely work out so obviously i sold the dji osmo mobile 3 on ebay i did that mainly because i think there wasn't a big enough market for the item on facebook marketplace given that it was faulty i also did the same for the sarah jessica parker perfume this was brand new in a sealed box but i struck it on facebook and after a week the interest was zero luckily within 72 hours of it actually being listed on ebay i received nine pound 80 after postage and fees i then sold a handful of the cheaper new sealed items on amazon fba this included toilet brushes cereal containers a willow tree figure and the remaining yankee candle that was in like perfect condition finally i sold some of the smaller items such as the pie face game and the frozen snow globes and the sun hats at a local auction as a bundle given that these were all cheap items and had either been opened or used or was simply totally undesirable on facebook marketplace so selling this stuff on amazon ebay and at a local auction gave me a starting balance of 115 pound and 68 pence so that left me with around 20 items or so that could be sold on facebook marketplace and i got off to a great start selling the hoover vacuum to a family friend who actually saw the advert on facebook and purchased the vacuum for 70 pound this vacuum had been used at once or twice and did require unclogging and cleaning slightly however it worked perfectly and had the box and all the accessories now the rrp of this hoover on the catalogue was 229 pound however when i looked up the model number online it was actually discounted to around 140 pound on amazon so 70 pound given the fact it wasn't entirely brand new was fine by me and gave me a good head start next i sold the grey velvet lamp for 60 pound this item had never been unboxed in fact the delivery driver even left a note on the box that said this order had arrived late and therefore had been refused delivery i opted to assemble the light just to take some better photos and increase the sale ability and it seemed to work as this sold within six hours of being listed and this sale of 60 pound was half the rfp of what was stated at the manifest which was 120 pound next i managed to sell the spar starter kit for 10 pound these items had an rrp of 39.99 but was actually selling on amazon for almost half of that at 23 pound so this item actually sold really quickly so next time i would probably list it for 20 pound instead the same goes for the matching pool starter kit i actually sold that for a ten or two but it again went really quickly so in future i'd probably list that for 20 pounds after that i saw the undamaged garden lights for a tenner as i mentioned there was two sets of these the first set had been used and damaged but the other set was perfect and again i managed to get 50 of the rfp which was 19.99 then the razer kid's scooter with an rp of 39.99 i sold for 25 pound i did assemble it mainly because it was quick and i figured it would be better for photos and again that seemed to work so i managed to sell it within 48 hours of it being listed then i managed to sell my first set of curtains of all the items these were the hardest to shift and i had to discount the small set to 10 pound and then the two sets of larger curtains to 30 pounder set this was down from an rrp of around 160 pound i guess the thing with curtains is that people just like to see them in person while i might have been able to get slightly more if i sold them on ebay i would have risked somebody returning them or saying they don't fit not the right color plus the additional ebay fees then i sold the unicorn play fence for 30 pound on facebook and then the two power fresh steam mops now one of these had been opened but was new and had never actually been removed from the box i sold this on ebay for 39.63 after postage and ebay fees having not really got a response on facebook the other mop had been opened and had been used and we just had to test it to make sure it worked which luckily it did this one we sold for 25 pound on facebook marketplace and these were another surprisingly hard item to shift and had to be heavily discounted from the 130 pound rrp which was stated on the manifest then at this point i was left with my three most expensive items the shark hoover there is a 360 scooter and the mountain bike the scooter went first at 60 pound now i had to buy a charger for it which cost 25 pounds and as you've seen it was used so we didn't get close to the rrp of 290 pound to be honest even if it was new i don't think you'd be getting close to 290 pound based on the sales i've seen on both facebook and ebay the next thing to go was the shark vacuum now this had the largest rrp on the entire manifest at 479 pound and 99 pence and after around 10 days on facebook marketplace i managed to get just under half of that at 200 pounds i think what let this down was that it was no longer a model that was being made and therefore i couldn't reference the exact price the item was currently selling for on say amazon or curies if they just didn't have the stock then finally the mountain bike honestly i figured this mountain bike would have been one of the first things to go but it sat here for what felt like forever now i have no real experience with selling mountain bikes but the feedback i got from potential buyers is that it's quite a small bike it had a 26 inch frame and 18 inch wheels and most people seem to be looking for 26 inch wheels and therefore a larger frame after what felt like a hundred messages on facebook we finally managed to sell it for 180 pound again this was significantly lower than the rrp it was on the manifest and actually when the buyer came they gave me two 50 pound notes to make up the hundred and didn't trust them a bit so i refused the 50 pound notes and honestly despite all the messages if they'd have walked away then i'd have been fined because i just didn't trust them all the 50 pound notes but luckily they did have some 20s and they paid with those too and i quietly checked them to make sure they were authentic which they were so yeah something to look out for if you do plan on doing this and selling items on facebook marketplace is dodgy people and 50 pound notes all in all i managed to sell all of the items on the pallet within two weeks which i think is really impressive i managed to make a total profit of 201 pound and 21 pence and honestly the process was significantly easier than i actually anticipated the unloading the testing and the listing took about half a day although i could easily see why it would take you significantly longer if you've got a palette with a significant number of used goods as for whether or not i'd do this again i don't know would you guys like to see me do it again let me know down in the comments you see i can't help feeling that i just got lucky with this one palette if the bike had been used if the shark vacuum had been broken well i'd probably be sat here telling you we either lost money or i only just managed to break even now i've never done this before as i mentioned so i've absolutely nothing to compare it to i've zero experience so it'd be interesting to know what you guys think if i just got lucky or if you think all pallets are kind of like this let me know down in the comments if you've enjoyed this video please give it a like cost me a lot of money and took me a lot of time so i'd really appreciate it in the meantime thank you guys for watching i'll see you in the next one
