hello guys and welcome back today we're doing another star field spaceship build this one's taken inspiration from Firefly so we're going to be building the serenity at least to the the best of our ability now I've broken it down into a couple of parts we have the first section which is going to be building the habitable areas of the serenity this includes the bay and then the various compartments we also have the engine section at the back with the the landing gears we have the lower cladding and some Weaponry which I've decided to add as well as the outer cut cladding at the top here and then we have these two pieces I've only found having bought a ship it's the Hope Tech Hab cross brace so I'm going to be using that for this and I'm playing around with the the gears for the engine but equally if you're looking for more um handling then you might want to to use the the circular engines for that the first thing that you're going to want to do is grab yourself a lantern gear I'm using the Hope Tech hope for landing Bay this is the one that loads at the front trying to stay as true as possible to the serenity that this is the open cargo bay at the front obviously it's not going to be perfect it might look a little weird in places and these two are going to be on the lowest level next we're going to grab three twos by one so I've got the all in baths the workshop and then the Captain's Quarters and then we also have a storeroom and this is going to be placed just on top there and this one will slotting under so with this we now have the bay and our first storeroom connected to a store room above the hangar and three twos by the way do let me know if you find this easy to follow if you want me to do more guides like this we're slowing it down I'm not going to be cutting as much just so that you can get the whole process next we're going to be adding a one and a two again this is your choice and we're going to slowly start to build it outwards we're working on the neck here and then we have a 2 followed by a one and we're using the Armstrong 20 cockpit and you can see how this is starting to take shape already I have bulged these out at the sides originally I had gone for a a Slimmer fit but it still didn't look quite right so you can use these you can choose not to it's your choice but that's what we've we've gone with for this build with the whole built we're going to next focus on the engine section I'll call out these parts because I know a few of you have been asking for that but we're going to start off with this slim Docker we're going to place this from Deimos underneath and this is in the storeroom next let's add the landing gear we'll probably have to remove these for the build later on but we have the Hope 5 landing gear and also the Deimos cowling this is the AFT version this is going to slide in under there and on the opposite side the other one next we have the Nova cowling this is going to be placed at the bottom we're trying to make that sphere obviously it's not possible with the pieces that we've got I very much hope we'll have some new ones I've taken any old reactor here this is more for show than it is for actual performance but we're using a Class B reactor then we're also going to add our done 11 engine against our mag reactor here and then we'll have our grab driving then this Nova bracer to make the engine section complete with this done we're now going to start working on and probably the wings if you don't have the Hope Tech Hab across brace you can use here we go the Deimos braces or any braces that you can find I will also mention that I am at my Outpost building on the large landing pad at the moment but for items like these you can purchase a ship with those pieces or you can go out and try and find them at the Hope Tech Shipyard which I don't actually know off the top of my head where it is you can see we've placed it just in the edge here it will do the same and the reason why I've gone for the landing gear rather than the engine is that you can see in Serenity that it uses these engines for landing and then taking off if you want to use these you could use these engines and I think they look better whilst flying but you will also have to consider using landing gear somewhere else on here if that's the case and we don't really have the landing gear that Serenity uses at this point you could have this as your flying ship but obviously you do want to add a bit more detailing to this so we're going to start off probably probably best to start off with the top section here I could slide it all on but I think it would be better for you to see we're starting off with the Deimos spine a I'm going to place that at the top to try and break up this emptiness this space here followed by a Teo cowling and this is where it's going to get interesting because we're going to be merging pieces together if you take another Deimos cowling so different brands here you're going to then grab your Nova cracker cowling we're playing around about with all of the pieces let's remove that and we're going to slip this into here you can't do this without doing the advanced emerging technique which I show off in the previous Advanced ship building guide but the basics is that you need to flip this back and forth so that it will slot into here although you do have to consider spaces available for placement and also placing the item down first prior to actually trying to slide it in we're then going to do the opposite there like so but before we do that we're going to place down one of these here and we're also going to counter that on the other side so here we're going to flip twice and then press tab and you can see how we've now got this circular shape forming I just wish we had something that replicated that hit maybe we could maybe I'll play around with this a little bit more we'll see and then we have this hump at the back I've also added a molar Cannon just on the the top of the hump here you're free to add what you want we're then going to add the shield generator I'm using the bulk at the Box standard one that came with the build that I had which is the defender Shield generator we're then going to place our Nova cowling here and on the opposite side we're going to grab the Nova cowling end and also the helium tank which is the same shape as the Nova cowling at this point you can see how Serenity is starting to come together we do have a few more pieces that we want to add we have the helium tanks to make this section seem rounder and we also have the wing ports from damos we're going to place these here so again place it down and then bring it to where you want it flip it twice and then press tab we're going to rinse and repeat foreign is going to go here again flip it twice and release you can see how it's starting to get this round Edge at the back and we're just filling this out at this point with the top outer cladding done we're going to do the neck this is a bit of an odd one we're actually going to clip this into the ship and it does mean that when we're climbing inside we do have a visual glitch but I just find that it looks at a touch better doing it like this and rounding this off then leaving it as it is next let's grab our Deimos belly four we're gonna pull that over here you may also notice that we have inside the damus skeg as well so first off you want to grab the skeg this is skeg a we're going to place that underneath you need to place this one underneath first because this slot is still available for us to place the the belly on if we place this right and we'll do the same with this one there now we've found the spot for this we're going to flip it twice release and it's stuck in there same again down here like so I do wish we had more pieces and panels to fit along here I'm going to make this a little bit smoother we might remove these and rebuild it in a second we'll see but I'm going to place these hope Tech noses just on the front we're going to grab the wing E from Demus and we're going to place this here the reason for that is we're just breaking up this right angle a little more and we'll do the same here and then we have a few pieces of detail so we'll grab our Nova galactic portholes place these either side we'll grab our thrusters from Nova Galactic as well and place them underneath the windows and then finally we have the weapon mounts as well as two lasers I'm using the flares you can use whatever you want this is more for design than it is for a ship that's going to do a lot of damage and it also doesn't have a huge amount of storage either but we are trying to keep the mass down let's quickly see if we can improve on this by switching this out and this one with some different cowling like this one from Nova the problem with this is we don't have the slot place this down it looks kind of cool perhaps we can flip that actually that makes it look a bit more rounded I actually like that we'll keep that and then this is where it gets interesting we're going to pull this out and we are going to place that into there followed by this yeah that works um oh which is looking a little bit longer on one side probably be better push it up but there you are guys that is the serenity I'll take her out for a spin in a moment but I'm just going to paint her and for this we're going with as the base color a gray and then you can see on the serenity there are solar panels which are blue so I have added a little bit of blue occasionally and I've also added a bit of rusted ready orange on the tint I think considering the restrictions of the pieces that we have we've done a pretty good job overall but I do plan on doing this with more iconic ships in future videos I'm just waiting for a mod that will allow us to extend the length of the ship because 40 either side is a pretty pretty small also I hope we have a mod that will eventually allow us to rotate all these pieces um according to our ideal build but let's jump out now let's give the serenity a quick tour of this ship I do apologize it's dark it's always dark on this side of the planet but we enter through the center and if we go up here we have access to the workshop this is the storeroom that gives us access to the airlock during mid-flight and we have another storeroom here upstairs this is a well another story plenty of storage here and then we have our sleeping compartment for the crew Hall birth we also have another bath but unfortunately it looks pretty tight here this is actually where that piece clips through so if you want you can use a different piece there is a a smaller one by one piece but fortunately we have to walk all the way through if we want to use this one here for the Slimmer neckline then up here we have a flight deck look at that but guys thank you so much for watching I hope you enjoyed this let me know what ship you'd like me to build next in our iconic ship series but special thanks does go to all of our amazing supporters on patreon most notably our solo Eclipse patrons James Owen 5less and treble as well as our Lunas the calamities star Ben and that dude aw and our blood moon of the day which today is the couch and husky until next time as always ciao for now
