Even though this talk is two years old, I highly recommend taking the time to watch the whole thing if you haven't already seen it.
These stones should be in a museum (a Mormon church museum). Unless they are still being used by the church I don't understand the desire to stick them in a vault and hide them from the public. Well I guess I do understand and hope that the recent essays will open up those in charge of this kind of thing to allow public viewings of the stones.
I wonder why modern prophets don't use these stones. Why do they hide them?
This is absolutely fascinating stuff. What is the crowd? TBMs? Historians?
Just a point of order... If I were Grant Palmer, I would NOT admit that I had played with the Prophet's stones.
Who is the former mission president he refers to? I wonder what came of that? (About 10:00 mins)
Fast forward through the first 25 minutes, the rest is well worth it.
Considering some of many errors and false teachings of early lds prophets, maybe they should have kept using the seer stones instead of trying to wing it on their own.
