in this video we're gonna fly something a little more powerful than a Cessna Skyhawk and it just so happens to be my all-time favorite twin-engine aircraft the Beechcraft King Air 200 my name's Josh flowers my dad got me into flying and I've been making videos ever since I was a kid I combine the two into a YouTube channel where I share my experiences as an aviator both good and bad we're all learning with each day we live and it's important for pilots to stay humble and always learn while enjoying their adventures along the way and that's what this channel aims to show this is mr. aviation 101 Justin here is a professional pilot who flies multiple types of airplanes in his career he knows I'm always looking for new experiences and he offered me the opportunity to fly with him on part 91 flights in a King Air 200 given the fact that this flight was operated under part 91 and this is a single pilot aircraft meaning a second pilot is technically not required that means I'm technically a passenger but I've been awarded the responsibility of reading the checklist and operating the radios I always preach about how important crew resource management is or in other words the act of utilizing other members of your crew to help safely complete a task flying with Justin in the King Air has only further solidified the importance of that concept to me I believe one of the best ways to learn is by observing others and Justin with his loads of experience sets the professionalism bar high while keeping a very likeable personality in the cockpit which makes him a fantastic role model for any pilot we begin this video at Drake Field in Fayetteville Arkansas where we're getting ready to depart IFR to Angel Fire New Mexico I've already received our ifr clearance before we climbed into the airplane via my handheld radio and we've just fired up the turbine engines we were assigned the Razorback 1 departure procedure out of Drake field so I've pulled up the procedure on for flight on my iPad and were briefing the departure before we call ground control to begin taxiing to the runway okay before we get moving here we'll look at this Razorback one takeoff runway one-six climbing right turn to one eight zero events one lady in there expect radar vectors to final or file that sign at route 1118 5,000 feet or lower signed altitude expect clearance filed altitude bomb the law all right and that lost cops procedures nice how much to avenge their proportion I mean they both of them a third of my oversee correct bar the proceed on course all right good what's the 22 21,000 feet and the torte dies off I like to go in and bring it back the props back to 1800 rpm makes it quieter and it brings up your torque so it doesn't give you any more power necessarily but it just makes a quieter yeah nice five-bladed props are really quiet and in it something like with the curvature of them or the way they kind of sweep away from their relative direction and like helps with the noise or something that is like I smell talking about or when these props were really sleek and they have some of this fly planed improv Center like a 50 through that day where they climb on ten five our batteries bought a ton of them so I wouldn't have to worry about power anymore each one can hold like 13 hours of footage oh man that's crazy I got tired of run it out but I can only the best batteries are the best SD cards right yeah pretty much the best of the best all around because I got tired of like flying the Llano I record the trip there but I want to record the trip back to it and I can because all the batteries died the cards filled up not anymore but anymore believe this thing has over 7,000 hours on it no I was looking at the Hobbs meter down here earlier it's like right airplanes have been really well kept what year did you say it was a 91 anyone nope she'd had said virtually everything changed out in the last five years paint paint tell number props engines avionics interior interior lighting exterior lighting works and basically the metal is about it that's been here for seven thousand hours yeah brand new boots oh yeah new boots it's got the race back upgrades race back leading edges of the engine intake [Music] I'll still show it opal small two three and that's crazy although I can't see these three pretty impressive and it's it's an aftermarket company that I think it's wasabi power that made all the batteries that I use it didn't paint me to say that I was about to say are you advertising baby to say that they had just released the battery for this one which is the new GoPro and they sent me that one for free I told them I said you know what do y'all have as far as extended batteries for the new one because they have them for these old ones but that one I needed something tonight well here we just made this one and it's still kind of being tried so here give it a try what's that new GoPro and the Hero 5 it's a 5 it's a 5 the vibes
