all right boys and girls welcome back to all right boys and girls welcome back to another video this one is another one that has been chosen by the ludix aviation members at the air traffic controller tier they get to decide some of the stuff that i do in videos and this is what they chose the choice was between this and something else i can't remember what it was i put it on screen but this one won by a landslide now the only thing is i said i was going to try and get a special guest involved in the flight but unfortunately that person isn't available today so it's going to be on my own but just like the members chose i'm going to fly to an airport that i've not been to so if we take a look at this very quickly this is my aero looks map and it shows flight conditions right if you want to get one of these seriously i'll link the website in the description my friend james over arrow looks maps like this is one of my prized possessions but what this shows is shows flight conditions you can see the red and the blue and then you can see some green down here the red means uh the conditions is ifr blue is marginal vfr green is uh vfr i'm up here in orlando and you can see it's ifr so we're gonna be finding ifr today let's go over to the aeroluxe control panel and click on visited airports what that does is because this thing is connected to my online logbook what a feature it shows which airports i've been to and which ones i haven't so the ones in green are the ones that i've been to and the ones in red are the ones that i haven't and one of the ones in red is melbourne so we're going to go from orlando over to melbourne do a shooting approach into the do a touch and go and then bring it straight back over to to orlando come back and put it in my logbook which we'll do together is it's going to knock off that that red one and make it green and that's the whole point of this video today are you coming along for the ride like i said it's if i conditions today fairly low clouds the last time i checked uh orlando executive's meter i was showing about a thousand feet so we'll file ifr over to melbourne bring it back have fun let's get to the airport [Music] there we go let me just do my stuff then we'll talk when two niner zero niner disability one zero ceiling 900 overcast uh spec for clearance executive grain cherokee three two zero four two cherokee three two zero four two executive ground i've got a round robin ifr advisory copy let's do that right robin zero four two check zero four two cleared back to orlando executive enviro radar vectors as filed maintain one thousand five hundred expect three thousand one zero menace after departure the partial frequency uh one one nine or point four squawk four two six seven all right we're clear to orlando radar vectors as filed 1 500 initial and it's three thousand and ten one one nine point four and four two six seven for cherokee three two zero four two check your zero four two read back is correct information juliet it's current advisory chassis so you see i'm on the left side actually you know what before we get into that this is one thing that you will get dinged on your ifr check ride if you don't do it and that is a taxi check so we're going to do a taxi check airspeed airspeed's fine we got uh this is up and erect we'll recheck it before we take off within 75 feet indicating zero this turns uh sorry indicates the same as indicated on there now it does we'll do a little turn to the left a little turn to the right very good we'll look at the turn coordinator we'll go ball goes outside ball goes outside airplane turns into the direction and this indicates a non-heading of east and also swings freely as we go left and right that's your tax check simple as that very simple to do very easy to forget anyway you see i'm on the left side today because i'm fairly sure this is gonna be solid imc for quite a bit of this uh overcast clouds at 900 feet just feel like i should have the instrument straight in front of me but yeah so sitting on the left i've got everything in front of me so every actually i'm not looking at everything from an angle if you're not already subscribed to ludix aviation please subscribe to the channel yeah i'm trying to get to 50 000 subscribers as soon as humanly possible so you subscribe tell your friends to subscribe and then tell them to tell two friends to subscribe and then they can tell three friends right we'll make it into a pyramid scheme apart from the fact that you're not getting paid anything but what's the difference between that and a real pyramid scheme today's alternate is kissimmee i suppose let me know in the comments why on a day like today i would be required to list an alternate on my flight plan or another way of asking that is when is an alternate required on an ifr flight plan yeah i'll see you in the comments for departure ready for departure holding short two five off two zero four two cherokee three two zero four two allen's car win three two's right niner flight in two five zero run with two five and alpha two cliff take off cliff deck off two five alpha two and uh two five zero on the heading for zero four two all right so cliff take off finals clear everything's done boom boom boom altitude four two six seven looking good it's fifteen hundred initial on two five zero heading finals clear here we go high five time all right power's set everything's in the green where it needs to be air speed's alive wait for 65 60 65 rotate oh welcome to the sky boys and girls only reason i've got flying eyes on at the moment is because in a cloud it usually gets pretty bright so we'll see first left seat take off in a little while departure they'd appreciate a face report on your climate all right roger every patch we'll give him that for 042 thanks honor departure cherokee three two zero four two climbing through eight hundred for one thousand five hundred two five zero three two zero four two radar contact for your first request i will say two seven right because therefore two zero four two spec dot net roger [Music] all right we'll take the uh two seven right there two five zero on my instruments fuel pump green green green 1500 bottle it off already fighting the body signals we had been in the left seat trim it out that trim wheel has been lubed usually seven zero kilo chasing my frequency one three usually not easy foreign [Applause] because it's very very bright now in the cloud although below it isn't too too bright romeo well this is it this is ifr people will do the two seven right a little kilo one three five point get some coordination in here don't really want to be looking down too much but while we're in the climb i can select the approach the on off two seven right we will vectors and we will load it back to the map view um zero four two advising you have this oscar at melbourne you'll climb outside of when we're heading 1500 132.65 all right we'll uh we got the weather runway heading 1500 and one three two six five on the go for zero four two zero four two turn left heading one eight five 1850 [Music] all right it's a little bit hot in it zero zero uniform to send and maintain four thousand fly heading three six 185 uh coordination could be a little bit better some trim coming up to 3 000 approaching three thousand there's three thousand we'll level it off and then we'll start remember zero four two what's gonna be your request after you go to melbourne it's gonna be back to orlando executive uh for a full stop and shoot the ils for uh that's three thousand 17 orlando approaches all right this is going to be interesting in imc although it looks like we're coming out on top of the layer here uh three four five factorial let's see thanks for all your requests right into melbourne 274 is the approach course touchdowns on the version 32 33 for the airport elevation we're going to come in at 1500 feet that's the final approach fix the lpv minimum is 232 with three quarter mile visibility if we don't have it we've got a missed approach construction runway heading 1500 132.65 that oh that takes over the the missed approach on here and that is what i would consider to be a decent little breeze i probably can't see but we are so i always think can i do anything else at this moment in time i've got everything set up as i need it the only thing i'll need to do is activate this when the time comes but i've briefed it i've got everything set i'm on gps mode i've got the frequencies that i can do at the moment like i was saying that the com2 isn't in here at the moment so i'm only working on one com oh this is cool man it's always good to come up and keep your proficiency but i'm current until july but i was feeling like i needed to come up in in conditions like this to kind of practice and get myself more proficient like i did this before i'll link that video in the corner i did that in uh 172. triple check i've done everything this still matches with this everything looks good i'm not getting any erroneous indications beautiful views out here thank you beautiful in cruise it's simple this is the easy stuff it's it's when you get you're coming out of an airport and everything's happening all at one time then when you're going into an airport you're doing all the approach like i've briefed everything really early i've still got 30 miles to go one two four point eight uh 699 turn right one three zero contact orlando approach on actually turn right one three zero climb and maintain four thousand one three zero four thousand for zero forty i've got ground contact makes you feel a little bit better every time you see it four thousand feet level off yeah it makes it all your apprehension kind of goes away as soon as you get some ground contacts like oh thank god when you got no autopilot zero four two contact orlando approach one three two point six five have a good day thirty two sixty five you do the same zero four two all right so thirty two sixty five before i continue with 32.65 i'm gonna throw a tower in there uh just so it's already set up so 18 two is uh his tower because we don't want to forget that hold on approach jerky three two zero four two four thousand one three zero three two zero four two with that approach it's breaking up over there and always nice to have that ground contact but over there it's solid over there it's solid i don't know about you people but i've got uh desire track and track make sure on the approach that these two line up and you're golden that helps you with your wind correction fighting one one zero one one zero zero three one zero align the track of the desired track up you're golden that's a tip uh on your check ride set it up like that when you go a partial panel for your approach line those up you're golden the more you know enjoying the video so far i am if you are give it a like yeah helps me grow helps get my videos in front of more people i approach check three two zero four two just requesting a quick frequency change to pick up the weather i'm working with uh just one radio melbourne international airport information oscar one five five three zulu one two six zero at one one visibility one zero ceiling one thousand three hundred overcast on approach check three two zero four two uh back home was the over two riders did you get oscar yeah you got information oscar for zero photo that is one of the downfalls for only having one communication uh radio you've got to switch frequencies to be able to get the uh the weather information but if you were in doubt on what to do that's what you do just request the frequency change quick and pick it up and then you're done [Music] for zero four two five heading one two zero to maintain three thousand one two zero three thousand zero two [Music] we've already got lpv in there looking good just remind myself of the minimum again hold on zero four two fighting one three zero one three zero zero four two uh the minimum is 232 all right melbourne is in sight so we're not gonna log this approach the final is beautiful coming over patrick air force base [Music] all right let's knock this out the way mixture fuel prop lining light we'll switch the tanks there we're six on three rounds turn left heading directly over the top of patrick air force base that is sick turned out to be a beautiful day over the course zero four two turn right heading one three zero now and i'll point out the traffic you're following as you get closer all right roger zero four two come on give me a turn zero four two finding one four five one four one four five zero four two come on give me a bigger turn pre-landing checklist is done approach briefing is done i've got the airport inside i'm gonna have no issue seeing the airport there were zero four two maintain two thousand two thousand zero it's coming in but i've got visual anyway so it's like whatever what goes if we're doing it all right we're coming in as therefore two is established all right zero four two roger and your good are now two seven three two zero four two on up two seven right one three two zero four two melbourne tower reported two mile final we're pulling two mile finals air filter but beautiful approach here straight 56 please turn left taxi alpha to your gate cross over five i'm not i'm not gonna put in flaps i'd usually put flaps in i'm not going to do it until i'm closer to the airport i've got visuals on it i'll just maintain glideslope without it slopes coming in it's touching the donut there it is back off the power let's descend on the glide but that's what i'm looking for all the way down it's easy to do that when it's visual so i don't know why i'm telling you all right a half a mile from hook d that would have just popped occurring now 10304 double oh four so we're hitting hooked in uh three seconds there's hook d now taking it down to the runway as i said non-standard i've got no flaps in there just feels so far out all right let's see how this landing goes and then we'll take it back to orlando executive uh below 109 now i'm going to put the flap in 9200 knots on approach on glide just below 100 knots about 1900 rpm [Music] clear for the option runway 27 right click the option two seven right zero four two the goal on the missed approach is runway heading 1500 back to 33.65 it's all the speed's getting a bit fast pull that back please let's go four flappages okay cap down and now let's get it to approach speed pretty cool man never been here before there's the vlr just off the left clear land 27. all right here we go it is bumping wow nice and easy horrible one november 042 where do you want to park this is a touch and go for 042 i'm sorry continue roger welcome back to the sky zero four two's gotta say uh round robin back to all under executed yeah what did the park to give you for uh departure instructions uh runway headed to 1 500. okay continue with their instructions thanks welcome back to the sky i suppose not the cleanest landing november 042 contact orlando departure good day i'll departure 0.2 you do the same landing party cherokee three two zero four two six hundred climbing to one thousand five hundred runway heading number three orlando departure i don't verify it's like an ios full stop back into executive hi den and that is affirmative ios25 full stop zero filter there are three teams reporting raider contact over melbourne isle of 2-5 is current information uh kayla was off the current just advice when you have that means to climb the mainstream to reach out all righty boys and girls on the climb out up to three thousand runway heading for now i'll get back with you as we're setting up for orlando as we get a little bit closer setting up for the ils two five at orlando executive again i requested the frequency change got the weather information the clouds over there apparently 1100 feet broken so it's an ils approach that we're doing it's the ils two five one or three uh 109 three five is set in we'll identify when we get closer because we're getting flags at the moment uh two five three is the approach course uh six thousand and four feet is the runway landing touchdown zone division 113 same as airport elevation uh we're on with approach we've got sat on standby there we go we're going to come in let's verify let's expect lucky 12.4 500. three-quarter mile visibility we've got the visibility we're legal to shoot the approach uh mr brochu straight out it's 2000 on uh holland already or 247 hold as rocket to 12.2 brief is done really early we're still 23 miles away that's what we're going to come back into a turn right direct luke join the localizer so he just gave him handle departure director which is what i'll expect as well that's why in my procedure i set it up not active and not to vectors the final but the full approach just in case i need two three seven it eighty more lando departure eye remaining team freedom three thousand five innovative contact low clients identified three two zero four two when it would work to the luke intersection join the localizer director luke can join the localizer zero four two that's exactly why i did it so now it's gonna give me direct to luke so i'll switch this over to gps quickly and it's a design tracker three one four so that's what i do that's exactly why i didn't do vectors to final i'm hungry man i'm thinking tonight is either panda express or chipotle let me know in the comments i mean it's it's already in the past but what do you think i had panda express or chipotle why are we here seriously number three two zero four two turn left heading two eight zero join a low pleasure two eight zero to join the localizer zero i was expecting to go to luke and get the clearance and just follow it all the way down but he's turned us in just a little bit so join the localizer so now i'll switch this back over to cdi uh the cdi to v-lock from gps because i'm not using it anymore so now i'm just waiting for all this to come in quite slope i'm not worried about at the moment we've not been cleared but i'm waiting for the localizer holding just a little bit low three two zero four two you're four from mary b it's gonna maintain one thousand five hundred until savage on a localized declared ils runway two five approach one thousand five minutes till established clear for the uh local uh ils two five zero hundred uh so now i can go in here it's 1500 to mary b i'm gonna give it direct mary b 21.89 as you're descending in if you can please pass along a base report descending to 1500 feet [Music] all right look lights coming in nice slow turn eyes on the instruments territory three two zero four two ios two five cherokee three two zero four two exact tower continue approach running two five all right we'll continue zero two point nine to fifteen hundred feet maintain localizer there's 1500 bring the power back in reach room is necessary hold the localizer holding a little bit there we go that's the heading that i want okay give me my power back thank you and just hold it hold it hold it hold it hold it [Music] coming on to mary b hold 1500 it's a it's a hard minimum that mary b all right now we can drop it to him and we are currently not ready we're having a technical problem cody924 how long do you anticipate this technical problem sir about uh 60 seconds we'll call you back okay roger that i got time if it's different though let me know so now i can go down to eleven hundred elements and that gets us below we're in there talking about that there's the road i anticipated so that is the benefit of doing step downs because if i had stayed at 15 and intercepted the glass slope of 15 i'd have still been in the clouds but i could step down now to element at 11. 1100 and that got me out of the fight so that's the benefit of a step down [Music] so we'll hold we'll hold first glide slope intercept and we go down to the runway that's the final approach fix on an ils it's glide slope intercept 9200 knots looking to maintain that [Music] let's land this piece let's do a little bit of a better landing than we did in melbourne last notch all right here we go nice and loose start approaching program clear for the option 734 thank you win 3-1-0 at 1-1 gust 1-7 make sense just hold it hold it beautiful beautiful nice cherokee zero four two take the next four high speed please got a short approach coming behind you ground point four roger on the high speed over the ground zero two welcome to the ground sweet all right that was a little bit better landing than uh melbourne did it we went to melbourne new airport we're gonna go home now and we're gonna make that light green which is the whole point of this video to make a little light change from red to green i'm excited to see it all right i'll see you at home it's on right i'm just gonna go onto my online log book which is gonna get a bit of free promotion here my flight book and then i'm going to add a flight in here so i was so lost as uh 1.63 no no we're gonna move closer to this thing we went from orlando over to melbourne as soon as i click this and refresh [Music] there we go that little green light there is the whole point of today's whole video but it's been done we did it you came along i enjoyed it hope you did as well if you did please leave the video a like if you're not subscribed please subscribe if you're
