good evening ladies and gentlemen how we getting on welcome back to in shrouded so I have built myself a new sort of mid gamish player home I am quite happy with this place quite liking it so yeah really been enjoying playing Uncharted a lot of fun reasonably new Survival game that's out at the moment in Early Access it's been out for about 3 weeks at the minute it's had a pretty solid start to the Early Access period looks like over that time there's going to be a huge amount more added and uh yeah it's going to be in some interesting competition with other survival games coming out the next few weeks too so for those playing this is where we are on the map for now there is my home do wish we could rename it but you know there is a little town of Willow crush and we're are due north of the ancient Vault that HS the farmer so pretty easy place to spot it's not far from the whole revelwood area and there's a lot of sort of mid gamish at least as the game is for now tier resources around here so definitely a good spot to have at least one home in so we got our Flame alter there in the middle unfortunately you can't move this thing around there are kind of ways that you can but basically um the build zone is tied to that being the center point so it's not a bad idea to incorporate that thing into your home we're going to get cracking here got a nice flat bit of ground here I about to chop down a few trees fun thing is they don't grow back inside of your build zone so handy for not having stuff clip through your buildings get some floors in here it's going to be a decent sized house this one I'm working with City wall blocks which uh at the time I started this at least they were sort of the best looking stone block I had available I've actually got some other cool stuff now but uh these are pretty good however I've have kind of run out of materials which is going to be a running theme I suspect is we have to craft our building materials first then build with it and uh yeah I ran out so we're going back to the really basic stuff just to get the kind of floor plan in and I'll upgrade it later on I'll come back swap it out so that's the basic floor in we're on 3x5 I think that is I think yeah um maybe it's 3x6 I can't remember either way we're going to put a 2X two room on each side here and create this kind of cross shape works for a decent shape to have plenty of space for everything actually bigger than I need in some ways but we can jump back to the city wall blocks and get the walls in appropriately starting off with the windows I'm basically alternating them basically on this um Central column Central section and then I'm on these side rooms I'm going to flip it the other way and have the windows facing front and back so there we go windows on the side there front and back in the side rooms should make my mind up as we go here a little bit and then we'll switch over and put the just plain walls and the doors in so one of the big differences to how I usually do this in Fallout is I'd build the structure and Fallout or at least the core of it pull it down and then redo it it's not not so convenient to do that in in shed CU um the foundations in particular dig holes in the ground that remain and it's it's just not quite ideal I mean you can but I decided to kind of wing it so it's a little bit of jumping around and a little bit of uh well a heck of a lot of editing required for this one but we managed so I'm going to get a staircase in again I'll be swapping this out later but it'll do for now so it can get up top at the back here in the center and we'll put a temporary Upper Floor on again I'm using the city blocks City wall blocks here but I'll be swapping them out for refined wood because you know floorboards and wooden floors look better than Stone ones or at least for a Cozy home they do anyway so jumping back downstairs and get a couple of more internal walls in we'll decide divide off these side spaces here check the doorway there I had a little think about which side or whether or not I wanted those doors in the center cuz all are viable options but I decided off center slightly towards the front was going to be like a better look overall pop upstairs jumping on a long way here cuz I built the entire upper story and then pulled it down cuz I wasn't happy with it and readed it so what we're doing here is we're going to try and avoid the thing being too tall we're just going to have these walls at half height and sort of build off of that rather than full height as otherwise the building just looks kind of obnoxiously tall and I didn't really like the look of it as is often the case when I build things so basically what I've got here is the door has to be full height so that you can get through it but want to keep it as sort of close to the ground on the side walls as possible so that uh I say it's not too tall so we basically got half height wall and then the triangle piece on the top of it and then the roof will snap onto that and that gives us A View to sort of where we're going we'll put the peak on there and that is basically our roof think I'm pretty much okay with that and now we're going to get back to putting the walls in we'll just drop these full size ones down don't need to do anything fancy just look a little bit lower and they pop down and there we go the one drawback to doing this the way I am doing is that it's sometimes the game will delete bits of wall that you don't actually need and save your resources in this case it wasn't doing that know if it's supposed to or if it's just not quite a perfected system yet cuz Early Access but um it does kind of remain clipped through the wall beneath which is mostly fine you can't see it but where the windows and doors are it was a bit more of a problem we'll deal with that in a minute for now we'll finish plugging up these gaps slightly screwed up this doorway a little bit but the doorway position is correct whereas this one is actually a step too far out for these you want it on the inside of the um the floor piece the square floor section rather than on the outside cuz it looks better with the roof you'll see what I mean in a minute but I'm going to crack my era here in hindsight I could possibly used different uh building pieces and save some materials a little bit but it worked out fine rest of this roof in for the tiled roof cuz is you know it looks pretty cool lots of contrasting mixed materials here which I'm quite enjoying working with makes the whole thing visually a bit more interesting so here's a piece I wish we had it Fallout the inverted roof section Corner section so we can go around the inside of a corner like this can't see them ever retroactively adding such a thing to Fallout but God I wish we had it some of these roofs do look like they're overlapping more than they should I don't think there actually is a problem there but it does look a little weird so just sort of keep an eye on that you see I've slightly fluffed up putting these walls in they're sticking out a bit too far so we'll pull them out nudge them back kind of easy to do that now we'll just close it off with triangles and the reason I wanted it on the inner side of the square here rather than the outer side is the roof slightly overhangs the wall there and it just looks a little bit more neat and tidy which is not doing on the other end but aside from that we'll repeat what we were doing at the other end and then move on to the Gable ends front and back here so here I was having some issues I was trying to line up the patterns and make everything snap in without it being weird in the end worrying about that was a bit too much and uh sort of letting the game do its thing actually worked a bit better so I just kind of simplified and then just put the big triangles in and everything snapped in and it deleted the bits that I didn't need and resulted in a nice tidy Gable end to the house they'll need a little bit of sort of finishing touches and flourishes later but for now it's pretty solid so it's getting a bit dark but I'm going to stick some internal walls in here I think you'll be able to just about follow what I'm doing doorway in the middle half width blocks on the side and then close up the gaps with triangles just so that we've got little side rooms either side of the main Central space here kind of hard to see in the dark I know but uh joys of a day night cycle being what it is I didn't actually have a bed in this building at the time so I had to go all the way down to my old base to uh pass the time on the other hand that managed okay simple enough it's just a wall between some other walls so we're going to go around the stairs here and just enclose this and this was slightly more Awkward partly because the roof is so high and you know slanted and just in awkward shape you can actually build scaffolding so that you can get up and get a bit more height and reach a bit more easily because the reach of your ability to build is a bit Limited so they've actually added an item to work around that I didn't have one available at the moment cuz you have to build it separately in a workbench but uh they are handy to have and we'll give you a little bit of a a leg up so you see I'm having some issue getting the um triangles to connect to the roof in the way I want there so we just need to go one block higher get it to go in it's bit awkward but we've managed now I should be able to get the triangles in and close that roof off nicely and nice enough it's not perfect but it'll do and this side is a little bit difficult to see um not just because of the lighting but just in general because of the slope and the height and all manner of stuff so I'm carefully trying to add extra blocks onto the top there which I'll actually do from this side CU um it'll allow me to close it up and it's not quite where I wanted it there sticking out a bit more than it should have been feel feel like it might be sticking out more than it should be but it doesn't really show and when I got it finished it looks fine so that's the main thing and the patterns more or less matching up as well so that's cool so we're going to grab a corner pillar piece drop that in here and then close up the Gap that might actually have been have slightly floaty I don't know either way looks all right around the other side though it's too big so we'll just delete it Square by Square from this side and add Square by square across the top there just to finish closing that Gap up make it look a little better oops not quite right there we go that undo button is something I absolutely love having I wish it remembered slightly more moves so you could undo a bit more if you change your mind but on the whole it's pretty brilliant so as I said before those walls that um I've sunk down to half do clip through and in the windows that's really where they show and here where they're sticking through into the room but we can go to the one by one block and just delete it section by section we could actually use a larger one but little more fine control with the one by one and just uh move the little bits that we don't [Music] need there we go you'd never even know I got to do that all around the house but uh for now that's fine so next major piece of building I want to do is putting a basement in here as I want to have my crafting space underground now this game has a really cool mechanic that is both both brilliant for making basements and mildly annoying which is that the foundations dig out holes like this and then filling them back in if you're not happy with that is kind of a nightmare however when it comes to building basements you can just put the foundations in take them out leave one in there and then snap again like this now I take them out and as you can see we are a full story underground we'll take the rest of these out and now we'll uh you s of see what the floor is doing compared to the foundations there quite clearly as well we'll just drop this down one more and I'll jump straight onto the one I actually want actually I'm going to use the stairs first that's fine I do need to be able to get out of here I suppose now we'll put the floors in just like that now we have the lower floor in place nice and easy no messing around with pickaxes no uh struggles that can come out cuz it's going to need to be a floor not a foundation piece and there we go one completed lower floor now we just need to get some walls in and reeal this structure we'll have a quick run around and do that and back to the city walls nice and then once we put some refined wood floors in we'll actually be able to uh have a nice sort of cozy looking home mostly with a nice little basement in it now as I mentioned early on running out of materials is quite a thing here cuz I certainly haven't got used to how many I need to craft yet so um I'm going to do a couple of quick little bits and then I'll have to run off and grab some more so we'll jump on in a second get a wall here just to kind of hide the stairs we'll do the same down here except that I've run out of blocks on this one as well so I'm going to have to head off and get blocks for that too before I do I'm going to jump up to the top floor and take out this city wall floor because this is going to be replaced with a refined wood one as well there we go so you get that in downstairs and we'll leave Stone in place for the what will be the kitchen but everything else is going to be refined wood and I've run out again so you get the idea we'll do that bit the rest of that off camera he's just snapping more floors in so out front I'm going to put a little kind of uh porch um balcony Veranda type thing out front spot it with some blocks and then I'm going to head off and do an absolute ton of sort of decoration and little finishing flourishes but that is the core building so with that basically done and just a lot of small details to add see what I'm going to do to the roof here although I'll refine that as well let's head off and uh finish this and then I will go and tour the finished product okay then so much decoration later we have one finished home and yeah it was quite the uh timec consuming exercise to decorate this up cuz every individual piece of decoration has to be handcrafted and then placed so it does take quite a long time biggest thing you can see here we' got two things we got the kind of Chimney Stacks which are basically walls just sitting on the roofs or next to walls in the right hand side there and the roof overhangs the end of the building just ever so slightly to get that in I had to basically freehand the first piece in it'll just kind of snap in and overlay what's already there but you can kind of control how many blocks it sticks out by if you freehand it turns snapping off so that's what I did cuz I didn't want it sticking out too far otherwise it looks you know just um lacks the kind of neatness it just the proportions are off but I did want sticking out a bit and it looks all right as you can see I've got a couple of fields either side for practical reasons obviously I need the crops for you know crafting with in a survival game and also it looks pretty nice i' got a little porch area out front here is the inside walking around at times like this is um and building in general in fact is a time I'd really wish we could go into first person in this game but it's not an option unfortunately so it's a little bit sparten in here I've got some furniture in place but um options are a little limited right now again a little fireplace over in the corner there that I quite like that design it's early access so options are still kind of limited I fully suspect we'll be getting more and more and more added cuz I think the available area of the map at the moment is about a third of it so if it stays as densely packed as it has been thus far then there is a lot more going to be added to this game as it goes through Early Access and into main launch so I've got a little study on this side I really like how this came out I haven't got any books on the shelves so you're just going have to sort use your imagination there because the resources required to craft one book are ridiculous like 80 books um have to be found out in the game world and dismantled to put one book in your base it's crazy so hopefully they'll be adjusting that I do like that little fireplace design there using some of the wall pieces around a fireplace item just to create a little chimney breast and things looks quite cool so so we're going to head down to the basement have a look at our crafting space I decided to use a secret door here cuz I thought it'd be fun I tried the floor one out there's there's floor secret sort trapo style things and secret ones for the wall like that none of them quite blend in right which is a bit unfortunate but it does more or less work so I decided to use it anyway cuz it's fun so there we go here is my basement complete with my Crafters the various crafting benches and the blacksmith and the Hunter and the carpenter and stuff all of whom assists with your crafting finally got some magic chests I've been after these for ages and when you put resources in those it will allow workbenches to directly take the the crafting materials out of the chest rather than having to go there take it out into your inventory and manually sort of lug it around it Smooths the whole process a lot but it does take a little while to get to doing that here on the other side we have a few more storage boxes don't need these to be used for crafting so those are just plain and that block in the center there is just a walled off bit of earth that is currently supporting the flame alter up above so um we tidied that one off before I went on use a whole bunch of firefly lanterns cuz putting sort of burning torches underneath the wooden floor didn't seem like the brightest move ever you know there we go I suppose that flame alter might be a little bit of a scorching problem for the floor above but it's magical fire it's fine a little bit of a dining table in the middle we'll have a look at the kitchen although this is INS ways basic this is kind of I think my favorite room in the entire house cuz it really does have that kind of medieval kitchen vibe to it squeeze the um fireplace in there that I can cook on I did have another one in here initially but I've changed it out for one with this sort of kettle on it cuz it allows automated cooking which is so much handier than sitting there and doing it manually for a long period of time and it's quite cool definitely got that right Vibe was a bit of a f to try and get that fireplace in but the sort of surround that I built but we managed in end did that on stream last night so uh yeah if you haven't checked out the streams and have a good look at what the general gameplay in this game is like it's a lot of fun I've really been enjoying it a little bit of frustration but you know survival games for you we'll head on upstairs so I have divided this upstairs area up a little more because I initially put the bed in and stuff and my immediate response was the space was way too large so I thought we'll divide it in two and make it a bit more it just felt a little bit more ible so there's the bed just where the stairs couple beds like cabinets we've got a double-sided fireplace in the center for this I've actually used the weathered Stone building option which I didn't have when I started this build I found it partway through but uh it's similar to the city wall but less sort of um contrasting colors here is my bathroom and yeah the weather Stone works pretty well for it it's definitely a good option if you don't want to use the city walls creates quite a cool fireplace look as well cuz it's got a little bit of support where things overhang as well which is quite nice and in outside there's more weed stone for some chimneys coming up from the kitchen cuz we directly on top of it there got some copper railings around the edge of my little balcony here some Firefly lanterns just to tidy it off I decided to go with the the S dimmer lanterns towards the back and not detract attention from the front of the building glad I got a little bathroom in here even if it is basic we'll duck around past this wall here into the front half is a kind of sitting room there's a lot of ambient volumetric fog around in um in shrouded and it does tend to bleed into your house on occasion you kind of see that in a few places which is not quite ideal I mean the fog is part of the game's kind of cool thing the Shroud but yeah it's a bit much in some places where it's not actually shroud areas this is the front end of the house couple of inches just to sit and Survey the area have a good look at the overhanging roof there as well as well let say it's just sort of a block or two sticking out rather than any more than that cuz it's very easy to have that roof stick out too far and it just looks a little um unrefined there we go have a good look at the fireplace there that I decided to double side looks pretty cool and again empty bookshelves cuz it just costs way too much to make books say um so far the devs have put one patch out the game's been out for about 3 weeks at this point so it's very very early days I didn't know what to do with this space with the limited decoration options available so it's currently blank here is our other balcony but yeah I think uh the dose will certainly be refining things like excessively expensive crafting requirements there's a scaffold in the back corner there I had to use it to fix the roof a little bit and uh something to look forward to the first patch that the devs have put out for this game so far has been pretty good but uh you know it's literally just the first first one and it's the beginning of Early Access so I suspect this game has a really cool future ahead of it and uh yeah with how flexible and robust is a word that keeps coming up for to describe the building system in this game and I think it's a a fair word I think this is really going to be a lot of fun to build things with and to play on going forward and uh yeah it's kind of Survival Game Crazy at the moment because next week we have another new Survival game coming out that I will of course be checking out and uh I think that's going to be a lot of fun as well so worth checking that out on stream as well as in chared both which we'll be playing next week Fallout of course is ongoing as well with the live streams and with the base builds as well really enjoying that game as always so do check those out if you haven't already have a rumage around the channel we got a lot of cool stuff to check out if you enjoyed the video likes and Subs are always appreciated social media links and merch St down in the description as well if you want to support the channel That way as well as Channel memberships which
