Did I Buy a Stolen classic Mustang

hey guys how's it gone we're on a hunt for a month tanging 66 Mustang need a little face book purchase diamond quarter mile turn left okay that's her wheels are walked up and at least been sitting since 2006 yeah we've got three out you in it now - 89 comes with it and it's been sitting for just a little while you put somebody aired up the tires it was flat the pony interior smells like mice let's get this looks pretty just needs some love now we're just the people that do it [Music] so the wheels are completely locked up and I went to the local restaurant supply a couple people make comments try some food serving trays so we're putting those are under the wheels and we'll see how well it slides the pits leaving a DNA trail to probably test transmission fluid you know you got good friends when they're doing the dirty work member or something if we have to write yeah we'll see how harder pulls me me I just wanted a little screw there yeah I think I'll screw up the splash shield neither okay I think once we get it started on this ranch we ought to jack it up again but that one not going up the ramp this one started sliding off to kick over to the left give her a pole you do the jack I'll keep the Carson push sit the plastic tray in the front stopping us maybe from its light in that way pressure to wet it's yeah baby gotta reset the hook on the other side we okay some rest people call ready go out there it looks good how think it's gonna roll off the trailer so this engines in the other Bay the garage it's the original 289 that was supposed to come out of the car and extra set of cylinder heads it's on a like a factory dolly with big heavy steel wheels you said he changed it out because it was overheating and here we are trying to get the thing out of there I really wanted to put this engine back in make the car all original again the where the garage goes to the payment you see that big puddle I guess you call going across the door we decided that we're gonna hit it with speed I tried to make the bump coming out and we did it without dropping it on the ground we have all these big chains but we're going with sketchy we should probably put maybe something going this way to keep from teeter-totter is you got it wrapped underneath it so this is a two barrel engine and the tag on the car originally called for a four barrel so that was a another indication that something was a little flaky doofy foot six inches eight inches okay so we were doing the paperwork and we're going on with the VIN numbers and the VIN number is supposed to be right where that cutout is and there is nothing there and somebody punched numbers in right here possibly that skirt was replaced the apron I think it's called and there's supposed to be another set of VIN numbers under the fender on this side so we're gonna go pull that fender back hopefully the numbers are there and we can be rest assured if not she's gone back where she came from so I can take a wire wheel first maybe clean this up make sure there's nothing here I dunno the fenders have been replaced well get a better idea what's happening [Music] [Music] [Music] wherever that pain is it paints awesome [Music] nothing well as you can see with little wire wheel marks there is no VIN number there is no VIN number anywhere on that side it kind of show roughly Sharia I don't see anything and the shock tower sheetmetal around - all looks factory which is weird that doesn't look any anyways ever taking that apart it was like it's got the original spot welds going around down off you can see it down there I do see something that looks like maybe a piece of wire maybe a MIG wire again that punched in number over there does not go as I would call factory and there's no number back here and another place that it possibly could have been was back in that area and there was no number back in there also kind of shows you depend on what you look up with you get four different numbers 466 where the hidden numbers would be I don't see any of those at all and then when I did the VIN tag the warranty tag on the side tells you how the cars built what options are in it and everything so it said it had blue exterior blue interior that looks like an original headliner and somebody did a really good job placing it I could see he said he switched out pony interior into it from another car and I could see that the seats and all and I like the console is not bolted down it's just kind of sitting there I don't see him changing the headliner so I do not feel that safe trying to put money into this car with uncertain numbers on it so after much to do the car is going back tomorrow get my money back I had a paper written up saying that if the VIN numbers do not match or any issues say he was going to refund that I have him do that separately just in case she somebody did a quarter on that side it was rotted out and they fixed it it's like the original quarter in this side too bad pretty looking car sometimes you learn some lessons one of the lessons I've learned is just to double check the VIN number I looked at the VIN number real quick and I saw that it was there and then I saw him the taxi just when I went to go check the one on the front fender that looked at it and saw how punky it was made and you can tell it was you know if somebody did the little punch kit that you buy somebody hammered them in with that no not sure what happened I don't know if this it was an accident a long time ago and somebody changed out the you know so you would essentially have to change from all the way from the firewall forward it just just does not look that bad underneath the car and not to have any it's not like something you can ground them off me there's just there's no number there at all I mean there's just nothing there I could see this being replaced if it had to be I don't see a cut marks you know seeing well don't see any bondo same on this side I mean it really looks decent if they if they replace it they did a hell of a job not showing any boo-boos I don't know if these wrinkles are from the factory well if that's an aftermarket skirt that's on there like I somebody else didn't end up buying it bring it back yeah I'm not gonna invest all the time roughly you're gonna put 10 you're gonna put 10 grand worth the effort into the car you know not parts wise parts you probably yeah probably two grand but how much is your time worth that go play something together like this all right guys do with that and you're gonna go sign up I got a bolt offenders back up and I mean well a little bit of black paint on there worried me the metal be exposed send it right back down it drag this thing back off the trailer again with the flat tires and let him deal with it so put the car back together again this is the tag that was over here on this side I know this is normal or not I kind of doubt it you see the numbers are punched in on that side but it's got the official writing on this side and it also has what looks like two areas for rivets like it would have been riveted on something not put on with a screw attached to that that fender like that again could be just just seems kind of odd to me and fenders are all bolted back up let's while we have you here unless you can get the run let's make sure that I'll see that the throttle spinners it's not frozen hey that's the accelerator pump yeah why not hey move Joey the other side [Music] [Music] that's awesome Crossing this Oh Noi see if it'll go there it might be a bad still annoyed actually really use the dropper packet stuff I just want to go to the other side the output side going to the starter at least a crank you know if we got spark I only go dribble a little bit of fuel down it cheap she kicks over a big old v8 in a little bit more my to work bottle that should be more than enough do not catch us on fire keys on I don't know if we can have spark though [Music] engine noise Oh see that's probably it now let's go pop that cap off you the normal points cleaning can kind of foggy to me looking kind of baked go grab a file across and drag it across after a little bit I should just go bump it so it's on the high side you are opening I do it alright let's see you can cross that crank from there now [Music] somebody's jumper pack is too weak all right chef new battery in it let's see if a little got around Europeans help sir that's pretty damn nice imagine neck out the surprise think purrs like a kitten we'll smoke cool pressures coming up to half a tank in it no kidding she shall fire from the key yeah yeah it's not gonna start off with that back on there now is it let's try it again it's like that going on no I think there yeah Oh wipers hey myk's you are gonna come out of the dash power steering works stripping it in gear still chained up four cars Network going in out here [Music] look a little burn off bunch of crap that's been accelerator pumps leaking [Applause] and the exhaust fans honest clear this arrow does right didn't have any blow by coming through here again just a leaky carb no whatever's going on over there well guys unfortunately it's going back to its original home it's just a questioning the numbers on it I don't want to be caught up in something that is possibly not legit not saying that it is but I don't want the time and effort into it so with that we're gonna go kick it back to where it came from - bad - isn't this clean car nice rush free underneath cool interior and seems to run halfway decent - no I look forward to getting that original 289 running cleaned up maybe put that back in there fix all the bits and issues with it and sometimes it just doesn't pan out the other guys are gonna sign off well thank you
