hey everyone it's KO and today we are back playing some more pow world and today we're going to be talking about foundations specifically and how you can use foundations around your base to make things a little more cozy a little more aesthetic I'm going to show you some different tips and tricks for that so let's go ahead and jump right into it now first things first we're going to be talking about this sidewalk right here I love the way this turned out and I'm going to show you exactly how you can create it on your base as well it's super easy to do once you know how to place the foundations correctly as I'm sure most of you know when you go in and you select your foundation I'm going to pick the stone foundation here typically it wants you to build the foundation at this level and I do like using this level for different things my house is actually built at this kind of base level however sometimes I just want things to look a little bit different and I wanted to to create this sidewalk so all you have to do to create the sidewalk is change where you're putting your mouse when you decide to build so if you point further away you can see how the foundation starts to sink into the ground but also you have the option to raise the foundation kind of as high as it will allow you to the closer I get to myself I can't do that so I really have to point the cursor further away and that's going to let me change how far into the ground I want it to be or how high I want the foundation to be so for the sidewalk I like for it to be pretty low and then I can just right click and continue my sidewalk wherever I want it to go if I want it to go all the way around the building we can do that and I really love the way that the grass kind of Peaks through here I just think that it looks really natural I think it's really cozy too and a great way to fill space around your base as well that's something that's important to me I don't like a lot of empty space I'm really into clutter so I think I'm definitely going to be using this sidewalk to kind of go around the entirety of my base okay so another thing I want to show youall how to do is a slightly elevated foundation so I'm going to put it over here on the side just right next to my base and then we're going to add just a tiny little staircase coming down and then I'm going to continue in front of there with the Foundation kind of sunken into the ground and I like the way this looks almost like the ground has overtaken the foundation and then you have these stairs leading up you can play around with the height of it how close you want it to be to the stairs how deep you want this sidewalk to be there's so many different ways that you can do this but I love the way that this looks and you can really just kind of play around with the different levels you can make this much higher if you want wanted to you could make it a lot more subtle if you wanted to and like I said it's a great space filler since we don't have any foliage to work with we don't have any paths this could be a great way for you to kind of connect some of the different things in your base or if you're really just going all out for the Aesthetics I think this looks really really pretty I can show you over here the sidewalk that I've already started for my base I do have one of these tiny little Bridge sections so you can see I just have some tiny stairs one piece of foundation and then another tiny staircase leading down and I've kind of continued the sidewalk this way I don't know exactly where this is going to lead but I just like the way it looks right here and for now I'm keeping it I don't know if I'll eventually change it but it just looks like a tiny little bridge and I think it's so cute so you can also do the same exact thing obviously with the wooden foundation what I like to do is start with a piece of the foundation exactly at the level LEL that I want it to be and then I just continuously build from there and then if I don't even want those pieces I'll just go back and disassembled them later but sometimes it's just easier to get the right level in a different spot but with this wooden foundation you can create different dock areas I think it looks really cute right next to the water here for me personally I love the way that everything kind of Clips through and you can really build this stuff right into the cliffs it doesn't matter if there's a tree right there it doesn't matter if there's a rock most of the time you can put things exactly where you want to it doesn't always work out that way but a lot of the time you can now another thing to touch on with the foundation pieces is the tiny stairs that you can put I'll show you I have a tiny staircase that leads into my house right at my front porch they can be a little bit finicky to place down I find it a lot easier easier to place them down first before I've built anything else around it at my front porch I have to put down the stairs first before I can put the foundations for the sidewalk so once I've placed down the foundation piece if I grab my stairs and I walk directly up to the foundation piece it's telling me that I cannot build it if I move further away it turns blue and I can build it or I find it easier just to go out to the side and point my cursor right to the edge of the foundation piece it's not going to let you build it if you're right here because you're actually blocking it and then like I said if you have anything kind of in front of the foundation right where the stairs would be it's not going to let you build it so just step out to the side point your cursor where you want the stairs and then it's going to let you build it if I wanted to I could even Place stairs on the outside of my house all around it it's super easy to place them once you just get the hang of where you're supposed to point your cursor now if if your base location is somewhere where you have a lot of different Cliffs it's also super easy to build the foundation into the cliff again just stand a little bit further away Point your cursor out and then you can adjust the level of the foundation wherever you want it and it's just going to allow you to use some of that space that you may have previously thought was unusable obviously having a base that's on completely flat ground is really nice it's really convenient but you don't necessarily have to have that because again you can really just adjust these foundations and put them wherever you want to this next tip is a little bit more abstract than the other ones but I did want to point out that if you stand in the right location if you play around with things you are able to layer these Foundation pieces this is something that I definitely want to play around with more but if you put one lower into the ground and then you just move around where you're standing you put one a little bit higher again you can play with the levels of this but you are able to build one on top of the other this gets a little bit more challenging because it does want to kind of clip to the other one and as far as I know there's no way to turn that off so you just kind of have to keep moving until it's not clipping and it does make this process almost impossible to get it precise but I think if you were creating an area where you just kind of wanted a little bit more texture it could be really cool to have kind of wooden planks into the ground then you could have a wooden elevated dock or of course you could mix and match between the stone in the wood and I think that could really add a lot of visual interest as well I also really like the idea of adding multiple different staircases and then I've just kind of shown you how you can layer different things in between these staircases I really just think there's so much opportunity with the foundations as simple as they feel the more that you mess around with them the more that you're going to be able to do okay so those are my tips about the foundation pieces in pow world I hope you found this helpful let me know if you plan on using any of these designs for your base and I'll see you in the next one bye
