Beating Out JptheBeeman Dirt Rooster and Mr.Ed On The First Swarm of 2021

hey gang i hope you are uh about as excited for swarm season 2021 as i am check that bad boy out pretty cool huh i'm uh i'm located up in north alabama and uh these guys have come out of i hate safe they come out of one of my hives but uh i guess it's about to be on huh there good cool cool and what's really luck of the draw you see how they're kind of flying around trying to figure things out up here well i walked up kind of looking at this one this pile and i looked over here and right in here right in there was the queen believe it or not she she was walking around through there i reached in grabbed her up real quick and uh carried her back over got got a cage for her and um had to bring the box over so i mean how easy is that right but uh let's have a little fun let's shake and swarm together and uh let's see how this goes and i'll just let the box sit here until later this evening come back over and pick it up but this was a dead out that i had a little dead out that i had hoping look at that girl i guess i see where i can put this see i need i ain't even got my hive tool well let's lay it on top we'll shake that set that there all right so i went ahead and readjusted all this got a little wind action going on but queen's sitting in the top so let's just shake that off let them figure it out i probably would do better i know i would let's see where that little cage go where's that little cage go let me have those girls i have that let's go ahead and put this down in the bottom all right [Music] there you go so what that'll do is that's going to help to draw them down into the box instead of flying back around out here because they don't know where she's at so shake them off let's see if they figure it out here in a second what they'll do is they'll start going in there and then they're going to start fanning we're going to tell everybody else hey come on in here we found mama you guys go ahead oh look at that march is already starting come on girls get in there don't want to get in there god you gotta love that march gotta love that march for those of y'all that are watching this and don't understand bees when bees go into swarm mode when bees get into this swarm mode all right the hives split in half and they took the queen and half their bees and they decided to go live somewhere else well i just happen to catch them in time to where i can give them another home without them leaving me and going too far but uh this is a natural thing now if you're wondering why i'm not wearing a suit and i can touch them with my hands is they're not as defensive right now as they would be if they had their home to and all their food and everything else and all their resources so their bellies are all full of honey right now and they're not as protective of everything but now they are protective of their queen you got to be careful with that queen don't let anything happen to her but not cool man how cool how cool all right let's give this one another shake all right look there's a drone big old fat but that's a male right there [Music] now see on the vacuum he he doesn't have a stinger these are a male and sometimes they'll be they'll be a handful of males that go off with the uh with the swarm also they get pushed out of the hive just just like the queen get they push her out because she don't want to leave home she ain't no mood to go anywhere but they push her out and they start their thing but uh let's go back down here and see how they're how they're doing on their march pretty cool pretty cool we'll check back with them in a little while but uh they're gonna get in there they're gonna start cleaning house and uh getting this new hive ready for what uh they're gonna turn into their new home and be all happy happy now those guys up there they they're kind of going back they got confused and we'll let them sit for a little while but all said and done with this is they're going to figure it out a little bit that everybody else is down here in this box and they'll join them but uh here we go there you go that's my uh that's my on-site live swarm removal first one for 2021 i'm hoping that i uh i can get this video out and say that i beat the dirt rooster who's off he's off on the road right now doing some uh work with a commercial guy for pollination and i have yet to hear about horchof if he's caught one yet i think uh they get a little bit colder winter this year and they're actually running behind on swarms so maybe uh we've got them and i am pretty sure i just have beat jp the bee men but i know shall we already been catching them so um maybe they'll chime in here and give us some uh give us some comments but listen i gotta be up my pant leg right now so almost i'm gonna say thanks for watching the video guys we got some more coming up don't forget to subscribe you know hit the bell and all that other things but uh just so you know yappy's back see ya
