these years an amazing crpg experience that has everything that you can ask for and none of the I mean it's right on the news site no there are no in-game purchases in our game we believe in providing a complete and immersive gaming experience without the need for additional purchases enjoy the game to its fullest without any additional costs or micro transactions thank you finally finally someone understands and supports good gaming this is exactly the kind of game that deserves all the praise that it's currently getting there is a reason other developers are poo pooing all over it calling it a one-time thing not repeatable to hell with all that noise this game is worth your money that I can already tell you and no you don't have to have blade Ballers game one or two to enjoy this game now is the perfect time to Jump Right In with the rest of us create your own adventure maybe with some unintended consequences hey girl what's up I saw you looking at me over the campsack from a song for the does it make any money then by being a good game that's how and that's how it should always be you can tell that Lori in studios has passion for the game that it made and the license it worked with well I'd like to license Baldur's Gate tree why I'd like to license balder gate tree and that translates on how do we make the game as best as best as possible that we can rather than how can we make it cash in or how can we make the most profit [Applause] this is not the way focusing on what makes role-playing fun looting multiple ways to approach the game that rewards different play styles of role players it's all here this is the way behold the secret sauce of Dungeons and Dragons all right I'm gonna move on to these rocks I'm gonna cast Fireball and I'm also going to use metamagic distance spell so that I can cast well beyond the range nice nice all right go ahead all right all right boom 30 damage plus burning that's pretty good that's really that's really good [Music] foreign [Music] like any good DND session there's plenty of problem solving puzzles clever solutions that reward your creativity like this all right uh because I have six levels in monk I have two normal attacks and then I put four levels in Thief so I get an extra bonus action and I have two in Fighters so I get action search so it's normally two attacks but I gave myself hey so I got three attacks action surge four attacks two bonus actions um I also have gloves of giant strength and Tavern brawler so I get plus 12 to my damage plus four for my proficiency five for my boots that let me use my Wiz mod and then I have two from my items uh and because I cast mind Sanctuary last turn I get to use my bonus actions and my normal actions interchangeably so instead of normal punches I'm gonna do Fury of blows for all of them so that's six Furious blows that's 12 total attacks so each attack is one D6 plus one D4 each because I have this psychic elephant power that you adds one foreign [Music] if you're not into that then maybe it's not your kind of game but if you are Baldur's Gate 3 has all that and more uh okay but you know what else is awesome all right like for the past uh several hours I I've carefully stacked 345 wooden crates uh boxes to a height of over a thousand uh feet and uh if I go into my owl bear form normally I'm at 1 500 pounds but if I do the owl bear form and uh that increases to six tons with uh uh enlarge and and and then if you factor in standard gravity crushing flight uh then I leave off of the top rope and I buy an elbows turning him into a red stain onto the bed and a present glow in the campaign is you you can actually do this by the way in the game the highest damage move in Baldur's Gate 3 has just been discovered with enough damage to take down just about anything with one hit the secret is to first get an owl bear high up above your enemy you can use the crate stacking technique to get some height for this then cast enlarge on this big boy to make him even bigger then with crushing flight a move that's immune to fall damage you can do as much as 800 or even 1100 points of damage the move has since been nicknamed owl bear from the top rope likening it to the pro wrestling move of when a wrestler jumps down onto their opponent from the top rope of the wrestling ring is there an even more powerful move that's yet to be discovered stay tuned [Music] thank you [Music] it's almost daunting this game just has a ridiculous amount of content that we are still doing side quests on reloads after finishing and all of this content is at the highest level there is no lazy here no grindy meaningless stuff for pointless gem souls or some stupid no it's all professionally voice acted handcrafted serves a purpose I'll tell you a story true soul about a Man Who Sold himself piece by piece everything a wonderful wife brilliant daughter they lived not far from here his wife died too young grief tore through their home like a thief snatching away the scent of her hair the rustle of her skirts honestly each Act feels like its own game and the amount of stuff and experience to do it's like you're getting a Trilogy of game of games for the price of one it is time to battle this city you can spend hours and hours and hours in it is massive it is impressive I mean look at this I know I'm putting the camera through a bunch of buildings sometimes this can be overwhelming there were points where I felt like I had lost the plot or I didn't know if what I was doing was correct or if I was in the right spot at the right time or if I stumbled into an area I wasn't supposed to and I think that's all that negative training that other far more structured and rigid game experiences imprinted on me it doesn't matter where I am in the greater whole of the plot or the story [Music] cat powering up for I could be out what best game ever 10 out of 10. that's it right there done review finished it it distracts people are doing stuff what matters is the journey that moment-to-moment gameplay the discovery of it all and that's what this game brings back that so many games have recently lacked hell we spent hours just stealing on the best stuff we could in the game and then breaking out of jail when we had to found some Loot and they're trying to get it faster than the other person that's what you get oh God damn it no that was my backpack you son of a I just had to Simply ignore that this game existed for three years because technically the game did come out in Early Access forever ago and that is how we got the license to Baldur's Gate three well more or less uh my name is Sven Pinker I'm the founder of learning Studios and the director of Baldur's Gate 3 and I'm so happy we can finally talk about this game because we've been trying to keep this thing a secret for a very long time with the emphasis on trying I hate Early Access I was annoyed as hell for a while about the slow development but honestly it was all worth it in the end just do what I did pretend this game literally just came out because it's awesome uh you'll see us show you new features you'll see us react to your feedback with adaptations to those features and like this slowly but surely we will evolve bubbles Gate 3 into the bestest and biggest RPG that learn Studios has ever made watch this now there's four it's awesome man this look at all this this is so much like there's constantly something new and interesting visually appealing me all right throws ass in the lake oh what if he pushes you in yeah oh yeah yeah let's not oh let's see if I can lift them up throw too heavy to throw oh man push him um uh you get the elixir of the Giant yeah seventy percent uh later see ya yeah come on oh wait here there's a chest on board Ballers gate three is a crpg it's that top down role playing kind of goes into turn based mode for combat like x-com okay magic Missile to get on the right oh Duke and knock his ass into the water the did you use to do that was it Thunderclap yeah zero already has their chest God damn it zero let me loot one thing in this you gotta act faster yeah that guy had not hit the water yet and Zero's like ooh a hammer and I know instantly everyone but if you are willing to give it a chance I think you'll find an experience worth your time drop the ACT you're no Paladin you serve the arch devils are really okay I threw a Rotten Tomatoes God damn it Joe oh they shot the kitty oh you little foreign he's a bad guy missed oh that is 24. really powerful oh my God it's all based on Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition so in the background are literally stats being rolled die results and successes or failures and these are things from the actual pen and paper RPG the exact spell names exactly how they work in the setting so it's like you're getting to experience the world of DnD in the easiest way all done for you and immediately you'll see the appeal and why it's been a growing popular game these recent years with the bonus that it also showed me how Bass the DND actually is the world the lore devils and demons and the differences the unique creatures the different evil gods in this world it's metal as hell if you like Warhammer like I do like before chaos Gods you'll find things to like like ball the god of murder the other gods of Destruction and Chaos all of those factor into even this game's story foreign [Music] [Music] and while at many points I felt the story was starting really slow bit aimless it does pick up as you get into act two and act three and it turns from wandering around a forest helping different factions locally to a world destruction spanning epic against other dimensional creatures an evil destructive Gods at with you at the Forefront on either stopping or helping bring about chaos I don't know about you but that's exactly what I want from a game like this no I think there's other ways that's why I said I don't want to go over there I don't what the is that I summoned him nice it's a one use thing and when he's he just attacks the closest thing it was so amazing is so like so many other games that offer illusion of choice but just kind of end up giving you a lame ending or or fake results here in Baldur's Gate they actually do lead to different outcomes people can die Quest can be locked off hell there's one way to play called Dark urge that almost turns the game into like a horror movie of sorts I highly recommend it there is Joe our greatest challenge yet it's the legendary Buck bear are you ready did you stock up I'm ready let's do this you got plenty of potions I think so okay yes let's go hey you come here let's do this come on Jesus Oh see it's hard it's not working Joe oh I'm almost dead let's drink this okay play harder your clothes off ah what the hell trust me I got this power of charm baby I think it's working yep definitely working hey what's up how you doing Joe be careful go but no matter what you do you have a tadpole buried in your brain that you either have to decide to find a way to get in the world to remove it or embrace it as you unlock dark powers to physically change as well and transform because of it thankfully your girlfriend who you can customize at the beginning of the game comes in the form of a powerful Guardian who is there to help protect you through all of it what a day yeah four fights Soul suckers you think they'd be more fun to fight but they just aren't damn shame well I'm gonna go to bed now I got drinking to do is way early I don't know uh they want to go to bed why do you want to go to bed so bad nope no reason [Music] oh what the dude I'm within sniff range why do you have your pants off you can put an eye out a small eye I mean like you have to be really really close but you could put an eye out why you know uh every time I go to bed and this Guardian comes to me at night oh this is your first playthrough yeah I'm just ready you know stuff might happen tonight I'm feeling lucky I thought you don't like seafood I I don't do you like hentai no that's disgusting enjoy what are you talking about wait what tell me yeah character creation is just as robust as you'd fully expect from a title like this all the options for faces skin types head types even other species makes for a ton of options for you to browse wow the amount of customization is sweet black nine I want black nine let's see Rick [Music] Lord for the blood God wow so cool and and they're customized they're not just they don't just simply paint it red they actually do a little bit of of stuff this is this is amazing larion uh what's wrong with you Joe are you trying to sing yeah oh no he's imitating the main menu there are like 12 major classes all different 46 sub classes the abilities to multi-class and mix and match your way I was an Eldridge night Warrior I am mine I totally had him I got it for you little buddy [Laughter] yes you little buddy there's a short bow if anyone wants a random range which At first I felt restricted with annoyingly only one action to only hit people with one but over the course of the game I grew so powerful I was able to strike people like four or five times wiping whole rooms of enemies how is zero dead zero wasn't here what the you wanted to do this what what do you think that we didn't save it they could push people too didn't get it on makeup I can send you peons yeah okay you are nothing to me you only won because of that spell and you knocked Alex off stick with it zero was our range guy devastating Firepower the ability to steal just about anything from anyone there's this are you able to steal stuff off of merchants because there's this armor that cost sixteen thousand dollars and it's an armor class 20. three two one okay that did not work but he didn't yeah don't attack me nice shop you have here my friend again again even with Advantage it's turned around and it's like what are you doing uh did you touch my butt it worked he got it holy that thing was sixteen thousand dollars yep if I paying for a discount if you meet zero dollars if you're zero Alex chose to be a sort of nurgle mushroom night tank absorbing most of the damage raising armies of Spore zombies me and Alex are gonna be up in the front fighting all the enemies the bad guys will be the yeast of our problems uh are you going to make a fungus jokes our whole Adventure I am a fun guy and when I turn into the sport guy I'm gonna become the yeast Beast son of a and OJ well of course OJ was the life of our party what the put your penis away [Laughter] [Music] oh my girlfriend's here hey yes the game features full nudity do it 245. oh what the lizard [Music] you can turn it on or off but it led to so many Hilarious Moments we definitely left it on why do people keep bothering me when I'm sleeping let them a man sleep Jesus Christ oh it's your guardian girlfriend that's my girlfriend [Music] she's watching me naked oh no oh you got a different cutscene yeah naked yeah we all got our own oh hello didn't expect you my God are you naked yeah I'm naked I know you it's bread Eagle yes you're waiting for me I saved you before how about we go to your place of residence baby Spiderman time yeah see anything you like so listen closely all of these choices and who you want to be calm are added by a choice of 11 races 28 sub races 11 backgrounds which all add flavor and context to your character's history and origin it goes off every time you take your clothes off no check this out sausages [Laughter] those look like dildos or pieces of bread oh no it's the biggest bandage yeah that's uh it's a nice sausage you got there everybody tell Joe what a great job he's done so he can feel better foreign okay well you better use those in combat at least once here we go three damage one of the game's negatives however is an odd oversight since it was in lorian's previous games is the inability to change your appearance after you've created yourself however I think that feature is coming post launch so what else is important to you in an RPG character creation which this Nails loot which there's no lack of and no need to buy micro transactions just to look cool in fact if you see a boss or even a side character that has a weapon you want kill them take it or help them have I don't know an accident if you don't want to be so direct I love the freedom wanna rob a shop owner of that shiny new armor they got in stock well get a good thief on your team and remember to save the game in case things go badly yeah stop how does it feel in your hand well it's it's pretty heavy it's good I like it you know it's uh it's pretty shy it's like a level what level is this uh that's a little four four yeah yeah yeah there's uh I also had a um I think uh well I've got this mug go check out this mug yeah yeah great looking chalice right there yeah yeah that's that's real nice I've noticed you've got a shield you have a sword yeah no uh so yeah I usually use swords but I'm thinking more like a mace I think a mace is good that's a good one like a mace or a hammer this is the hammer is this two-handed or one-handed you can do both with it yeah yeah I used to have a I used to have a sword I don't know where where it went but yeah that's that's a really good one yeah um uh what about uh jewelry are you interested in I love jewelry definitely so this is a red necklace this one plus one magic Missile every single time yeah wow can I try it yeah you can try it right now yeah I won't take it I promise okay yeah there's nobody should be taking anything right now from you we've got a dungeon right now yeah filled with dying thieves you hear that Joe there's a dungeon with dying thieves if we get caught stealing nobody would steal but I really like this here let me go ahead yeah the story and the dialogue are also really important in these types of games and Lauren in my opinion does it well here not everything lands but enough of it does every single character high quality voice acting I'm talking from pivotal figures in the world to even the novel NPCs like house cats you okay apparently uh the kitty don't like me so much that's a mean kitty doesn't like scales doesn't like scaly not sleeping will bother everyone my type of cat It's gotta be a way to make this cat like you yes you can even talk to anime Adam's game which Joe did a lot of by the way oh he talks I sleep now go okay yes the wrong question yes I think yeah he didn't like you know but he's a cat for my part I have noticed the clinic is one of their best voice actors is the cat love it do you see any milks do you nor do I disgraceful disgraceful he has no milk bring him milk I wish I liked maybe one or two more of our companions than I currently do we have season other than they seem kind of boring as hell like will if long may the coast shut up will sir I know this may finish me as an acting Edison but shut up Wesley [Music] but enough of them are interesting and mostly faceted and they have their own character arcs that it ends up completely fine bold statement if not inaccurate one uh we started making our companions a little bit more tolerant we noticed that you didn't like Shadow heart nitpicking about every single little thing that you did or lifestyle telling you you can't do that you can't do that you can't do that so what we did is we made them more tolerant we focused more on the positive sides but they still will have very strong reactions whenever you're going to do something that they feel strongly about especially over the course of the game they grow I particularly like Shadow heart Carlock Withers and Missouri for different reasons even the ones I didn't connect with I understood why they were acting the way they were it's a shame then that we didn't get to do more with them because we played and what I consider another huge Plus for the game four player co-op casual sandals Joe what the you grab the sandal oh my God there's a lot of birds oh my God we're surrounded by birds enjoy your fault oh my God each bird for 11. what the no one help the old one Health do you have anything what did you touch a dead bird you touch the dead bird you stupid idiot it's been a long time where I got to experience such a massive story with all my friends like this there is nothing quite like it the amount of fun and memories you'll create they're just on another level what have I told you then you're pissing off the bats were fun I was like oh what's that it's blowing oh Jane we're all the negative thing though is that sometimes you need to get one of the games companions in your party to do their companion Quest especially if you want romance and sex scenes like if you want to you know get it on with car lack you have to claim calm her infernal engines won't be seeing my mechanic anytime soon so I'll just make the most of the extra heat just don't get too close until I found a way to calm it down but she needs to be present when you give this item to a blacksmith but we could not temporarily remove one of our four party members to do it so it means that her resolution was locked off and it ends pretty badly in the final cut scene I feel cheated the ending it feels CR like crap damn it larion you cannot bring any NPCs with you since you're a full party of four oh that's how are you supposed to get this Quest working with four player cooperative if we like make a fresh game and zero just doesn't join his character wouldn't be in it would it basically portrait is still there oh okay yeah oh you're gonna make me so sad I tried and a simple fix would you know what to be allowed allow a fifth temporary party manner in those required story moment cut scenes so I hope they address that in a future patch but because I got locked off it did make me explore other characters I wouldn't have normally explored and I'm glad I did because I ended up having hot fiery sexy time with the devil I'm going to show you the true wages yeah show me show me girl you are lost she's gonna kill me isn't she looks at your flesh through the nine it's all the play ecstasies while simultaneously torturing thousands of Souls [Music] and this game holds no punches it is unafraid of crass jokes low-hanging fruit you know what I mean you just never know what is around the corner literally I'm doing it oh I don't know about this ghost what's gross he's watching doing it who's watching who do what they're watching the giant troll having sex they're not doing it yeah yeah they were I also like that you can end up in places that you're unprepared for you know you bite off way more than you can chew I love it when games do that it shows how far you've come when you come back to these bits and really show them who's boss well it's not completely open world it's not parts are locked off until story progression though there is enough dangerous locations that will give you challenge hell even prepping for fights can make a huge difference if you're out leveled and engaging them at the right times you know that ball dude absolutely tore us apart in his chamber surrounded by Mages just buffing him constantly yeah holy [Laughter] zero oh thank goodness I'm more dead no you're dead dead blood for the blood God yeah this guy I don't I don't think he's meant to be killed but when we caught him by surprise by just busting down his throne room door and just going a ham we managed to overpower him shoot it throw your train oh Jesus Christ nice especially when we forced him to dance [Laughter] Higher Ground wait is he stuck he can't move what's he doing is he dancing he can't move or take actions he's dancing the scroll work oh snap I forgot to play my music play your music and it only lasts for one turn which makes his deathbringer's legacy go away so he can instant kill us as rounds no you put the stick s oh my God all of your attacks have advantage against him right now what the why'd you oh why'd you hit him with that you knocked him out you knocked him out of the dance do you have an action nope uh the electricity knocked them out we should be here I'm dead avenge me Charming oh and then avenge me keep pushing oh he went back in yes hang up I did it all myself Chad you're welcome y'all saw that Moonwalker it's like Michael Jackson everyone's dancing in my Beats [Laughter] good [Laughter] they got the power to move you baby hey it's that Michael Jackson video game combat is fun and it's the heart of the game there are tons of spells attacks weapons enhancements options even stuff like jumping shoving knocking powerful enemies into Ravines and other environmental interactions that can help you win particularly tough battles what's so great is that you're encouraged and rewarded for coming up with those creative ways to win these things we got into trouble and the final battle we couldn't quite get through the gauntlet at our current level so we started to get creative with mist form and really found this clever way to dodge and trick the enemy straight to the heart of the matter and there's just so much fun creative stuff like this that you can do in the game oh you used the warp bomb holy JoJo Jesus Joe murdered so many goddamn hyenas I but I had the benefit of Alex who has played a lot of DnD and was able to explain certain aspects to me before I had to choose you know on your leveling so your Constitution is 16 so you're fine uh even number is when you get the the biggest boost because then your save increases so like if you can find something that gives you one strength it's huge because seven going from 16 to 17 gives you no bonus going from 17 to 18 gives you a plus one on all of your strength rolls so if your strength is what plus four plus three if you get 18 it goes to plus four if there's no more I wish there were the paper uh strategy guys but you just need to ask somebody in your chat or or go on YouTube and look up a video if you need a little extra help it's there so machine makes like a disembodied hand so if there's like a a bear trap with a piece of loot in it the magean just goes and picks it up or it can open a door it can't pick locks or things like that it can't do anything that requires like extreme dexterity but with that it's a really good useful thing finally the music it's amazing need I mentioned the earworm theme song Down by the River through the night down down by the river [Music] by the river [Music] down by the river [Music] down down by the river but the combat music the moments of quiet exploration everything works so well with everything else I also want to mention the game's environments the level design is superb you will find so many secrets so many alternate paths things leaking linking up on the map that you didn't know did a fantastic variety of locations with Gorgeous lighting and textures and little details that bring it all to life finally though we gotta talk about performance so I was initially impressed by all the different processes and things going on in the background that the game doesn't have more issues like a Bethesda game sure there are things that don't work here bugs glitches lagging in some combat sometimes first we exterminate the interest then we find the helm and take control of the ship oops we will address the matter of a cure for this infection once we reach the material oops oh oh no I thought I thought that they came out of Early Access how many years have you had to fix that oh boy why is there a version number in the upper right am I am I using my press build you shouldn't be mine was up there too in the final battle OJ and Alex who were mostly spell casters were really experiencing huge dips in frame rate while I didn't so I'm not really sure what was going on there there might be a memory leak so there's definitely lesser polish in the later levels uh that's bad bad oh no we crash oh okay yeah now I got the crash yeah maybe because I threw the ball but for the most part things did hold together well enough not to take away too much from that overall experience also often my shoulder pads and on my armor would hilariously cover up most of the screen making what's happening in certain cut scenes comical when they're trying to be serious if you're a vicious murderer Benji hmm brain juice smells like this and iron and one thing that kind of sucks is the dialogue skill checks happen only with the character that you're currently controlling see if you run into a cutscene that needs like I don't know Arcana checks yeah you have your Mage in your party he's there he'll just kind of sit there and do nothing and you can end up failing we have inspiration we have maximum versions that we may as well use one what is Max inspiration you can only get four inspiration uh at a time in your group for inspiration throughout the whole game no no you get them constantly but like the max we can save is for yeah just use one of the re-rolls when do they refill randomly uh if you see it on like random dialogue things uh you get more there's also the limitation of only getting to level up to 12. as leveling to something more like 20 can get kind of ridiculous if you know anything about the actual DND that this is based on it's kind of hard to model those in the video game like wishes and I'm sure there's some workarounds they can figure out but you only level to 12. he's level 16 too he's four levels higher than we can actually even get in the game because Spanky said that it gets pretty complex spells get too op at higher levels yeah there's dumb at the end of d d it's like ridiculous stuff like wish it's like that's not fun for anyone what is wish explain for those who don't blame you get a wish oh okay what is your wish you're like I want you know Donuts falling on my butthole it's a granted at level 20. yeah I think which is uh I think it's still a level 20 as well also if you don't like turn-based battles or you want this game to be exactly like Baldur's Gate one and two you'll likely enjoy it less it does borrow heavily from larion's previous games and Divinity original sin but for me it had everything a good crpg should have it was a fantastic representative of what it's like to play D D to mass audiences so because of all these reasons it is in my opinion that Baldur's Gate 3 is one of the best crpgs I played of all time and the final verdict scores an easy nine out of ten but as an added bonus I'm Gonna Bump the score up to a full 10 out of 10 if you're playing with two three or four player co-op and the performance patch kind of fixes things in the Final Act you do that and you're at a legendary rating we just had so
