so the underdark is probably the best early place to find some of the strongest armor sets today we're going to talk about a light a medium and a heavy set plus a few extra items on top that can help you a ton on your starting setup these armors provide insane Buffs to defenses completely prevent any Critical Hits obscure you in the shadows or preventing snares among many other powerful Buffs plus you can have the option to pick between a number of strong weapons so let's Dive Right In starting things off we have this really awesome light armor set that provides amazing active and passives themed around Stealth gameplay ways to turn invisible even become completely immune to all kinds of CC so you can already find the chess piece called Joe studded leather armor very close to the selenite Outpost right here in the underdark this assumes that you've taken the path down using the door inside Priestess God room in the goblin camp and solve the easy puzzle on the way however from here keep it to the right side of the build building through the window and go down this Cliff however do be careful as there's going to be a couple of fights here against some really tough boss enemies but eventually you will make your way to the main road down below and pay attention to this Archway to the right side covered by the large spider web you can simply cast any fire can trip against it to set it on fire and then immediately grab the Drone standing leather armor from the chest inside now this is a rare light armor which comes with a plus one in stealth and will make it far more easy for you to remain hidden from enemy side this is a perfect combination for Rogues for monks or any other class that does rely a lot on invisibility and stealth the next one is the helmet called shadow of the men's Superman Zen I think I'm pronouncing that completely wrong but you find this in the miconid colony up north also in the underdark inside of a larger room enclosed by Vice now you can either do the mission in the area and protect the mic on it or ADD otherwise you can just use the Misty step spell if you learned it with for example Gale or any other character to teleport right through them otherwise sneaking up or using invisibility assuming that you detected the door can also work whichever route you pick the helmet will be on the Rock slab to the right side of the body to make sure that you grab it before leaving now this gives you the really useful shrouded in Shadow ability which is essentially a two turn invisibility that resets on a short rest so while it lasts way less than a regular Mage invisibility it doesn't consume spell slots nor do you have to wait for a long rest to use it again so you can use it multiple times before taking a long rest that is why again Rogues and monks are a perfect candidate or these finally we have the disintegrating Knight Walkers a very rare pair of boots which brings two amazing effects one of them is the night walker passive which makes you completely immune to nweb entangle and in snare effects as well as preventing any slipping on Grease or ice conditions and it also features a very handy Misty step to reposition yourself on a bonus action which by the way as a rogue you will have plenty off so you get this from the true Soul near a character that you find in Grim Forge a bit down in the underdark now you get here by following the path from the selenite Temple going directly west to a place called The decrepit Village and then taking the boat from there to Grim Forge now you will find him going up the stairs and keeping it down south up until you reach a larger section where you will find him as well as a bunch of other characters inside however if you missed him and come back later you will find him dead but you can still loot the boots of his body but since you're in the Grim Forge you can now push towards the adamanted forge and get two amazing armor sets of ultra rare quality as well as multiple weapons to choose between so starting from the Fast Travel point from the point where you reached with the ship follow the upper path all the way at the very end until you find a bunch of dwarves trying to clear some Rubble blocking the way so if you use animal handling you can convince the creatures to clear that Rubble for you otherwise you can just use blunt weapons explosives and other source of force damage to just destroy that and open up the path either way from here just follow up the set of stairs and the main path until you come across this longer Bridge with some of these flamethrower traps on top of it my recommendation is to go slowly here and maybe even use tactical mode to avoid that fire damage and possibly even disarm the traps along the way now once you reach the middle section take the stairs down here you're going to spot two levers that control a moving Metal Bridge at the top so you can use that to travel across send one of the party mates or even your entire party but you will have to keep one of your characters behind to take control of it however before going on to the other side pay attention to the metal bridge in the middle just after this section as this holds a mold for a special long sword so go ahead grab it as this is important for the later on Section as it's going to let you create a very powerful weapon from this point on you can move the bridge to get everybody across to the other side of the cliff however you can also use the Metal Bridge you just got the mold from and just go all the way to the end of it both of these work just fine now once you reach the end you can jump across to the very edge of these stairs onto the side of the cliff right by the chasm leading into the lava however here you're going to find another set of levers that will control another moving Bridge however make sure that you loot the body next to them on the left side since this one also holds a second mold this time around for a scimitar weapon from this point on have only one of your team members control the levers and then get one of your characters and the very end of the bridge the metal one so that you can jump on the moving Bridge right across from this point on you will need to bring this character to the other side using the level controls so just do that and once you reach the other side lower it down so that it can jump onto the next section from this point on you will reach this larger space and in front of you there should be a third mold this time around for a maze weapon but also make sure that you activate the Fast Travel point right next to it as this will now let you bring your entire party right next to you in the same area and this is basically where you kind want to be as from this point we can find any remaining modes as well as the ores necessary to craft them so if you look to the opposite side of the room from the Fast Travel there should be a scale male medium armor mold on the ground that you can grab however you might get ambushed at this point so do make sure that you clear the enemies and then grab the item from the ground for the splint AKA heavy armor you can just go to the opposite side of this place past the Fast Travel point and you should find it on the edge of a platform just above the stairs on to the left side but now that you have everything that you need to craft armors as well as a bunch of weapons the final ingredient is going to be mithril ore luckily there are two deposits on each side of this area and are otherwise very easy to access for the first one you can grab it by going around and behind the area you just got ambushed by the enemies when you got the medium armor now once you're in this location you will need to use a source of force damage to break that rock and grab the material out of it so this can be either something like a bomb but you can also just grab any black bludgeoning items such as for example one of the many chests in the area and then just throw it at it and like three throws should be enough to crack that open and grab the mithril from inside now for the second or you need to go all the way down to the adamanted forge there are several Pathways you can take here but follow the one in the middle just in front of you to reach another lava area with the second Rock but be careful because there's gonna be a bunch of annoying enemies here so making a quick save can save you a ton of trouble once you're done again blow that rock up and grab the mithril from inside oh and by the way there's a really powerful amulet here that also provides you some really strong well spells in this case a level 2 shatter as well as some other stuff useful for monk abilities but it also opens up a side quest and you can get this from the path to the left side from the main Forge really easy but yeah just grab it if you can but now that we have everything we need it is time to craft the items and activate the forge to Simply Place whichever mold you want to craft like in my case I went with armor first for example the splint since I wanted to use heavy armor and then place this inside the main chamber then go to The Crucible in the middle and drop one of the material ores inside of it from this point on if you activate the lever on the nearby platform this should make the forge descend closer to the lava below now this is where you will want to make a hard save as the next part is going to involve some pretty difficult stuff that will require a precise tactic to win it now from this point on first make sure that you spread your companions around a little bit like for example keep one close to the lever so that they can activate the hammer in combat another one you will want to keep to the top left so that they can control any AD spawns that might happen so just for example lizelle which has has multiple attacks per turn and one near the lava pump so you can overheat anything that might attack you now as soon as you release the lava Gates the encounter against Graeme the forge Guardian will begin now this boss is completely immune to everything you can do and all the damage that you can cast there's no point in trying to Nuke him down with your own abilities instead we will want to use the lava to soften up his armor and then the giant hammer in the middle to cause immense amounts of damage and possibly pain against him so to get him to do so simply attack him with a character on any of the opposite ends as this makes him immediately fixate on that character and follow them through the lava towards the Middle Point once here it's not a bad idea to maybe have a different companion even if you sacrifice them setting in the center so that they can keep them busy in this exact spot so as soon as the boss reaches that middle platform and his armor is also softened by the lava quickly activated the lever and already take away a third of his HP with the massive Hammer that drops on them now you will need to repeat this two more times and again just repeat everything that you've done up until this point aggro him through the lava grab him in the middle and then just drop the hammer down so that you can take down huge chunks of his HP quick tip a cleric here can help a ton if you want to revive any Fallen teammates also a few plays The Fighter near the ad spawns again they have multiple attacks per turn and can easily deal with them but once the boss is down you're now free to use the Forge from here on out and he also drops a very cool rare Grim skull helmet so this is a heavy armor piece which means a fighter or a paladin is an excellent choice for it when having this on enemies will never be able to land critical hits on you no matter what plus it grants extra fire resistance which will stack with any other source of fire resistance that you might have and it also provides the very useful Hunter marks skill so that you can Mark enemies in combat now from the forge you already got a resulting item after the encounter is over in my case that was the adamanted splint heavy armor that I immediately equipped not only does this look really good it comes with high levels of AC so you become very hard to hit by enemies additionally it reduces all incoming damage by two points and it also applies The Reeling condition whenever somebody attacks you with melee hits so this is actually going to make them gain an additional -1 penalty to attack rolls for the remaining turns which means you become so tanky against any enemy that might be foolish enough to attack you that it doesn't even matter and again it prevents Critical Hits just like the helmet however no AC bonus from dexterity which no heavy armor has anyways and you also gets disadvantage on stealth checks while having this equipped but again you will never use these as a class that uses heavy armor anyways otherwise you can also go with the medium scale male instead and this will also get an AC bonus as well as from the dexterity limited to plus 2. but this can actually end up having higher AC or Armor class rating compared to even the heavy armor as it also takes into account and adds two points depending on how much dexterity you have so if you have a character with higher rates of dexterity you can actually reach like 19 AC compared to the 18 you get from the heavy set however all the remaining perks will be exactly the same now I also crafted some of the weapons including the long sword and I will assume that all of them followed the same route as in they got a really good buff in the launch version so in the case of the long sword it now also ignores any slashing resistances the enemies might have this is huge as it means there's almost no stopping you and you don't have to switch to a different weapon like for example if you fight something like an undead which otherwise you is immune do that or well has resistances to slashing damage you don't have to switch to a bludgeoning for example and it always critical strikes objects you can destroy indoors and other objects a lot easier and not have to worry about lock picking at least the wooden ones now I haven't tested any of the other items since I had no more ore left in this case you can only craft two items unless you can find other sources of methyl ore so my suggestion is to create a save file before creating the last mold and then just see what each of the other weapons do or have in terms of Buffs unfortunately my old saves were overwritten and these were the only three that I crafted but otherwise this is how the weapons and armor set looks like especially the heavy armor set complements very well that helmet that you got from the boss I really liked it and I placed this on my Paladin it pretty much carried me throughout the entire game as those defensive bonuses there are very very strong also this is how it looks on the medium side I place this on my cleric which helps it on in there to also prevent some of the damage that she might attract but this concludes today's video of course I also recommend checking out some of my others that I made for example you can check out the best early weapons to grab in Baldur's Gate 3 for each class or check out this one which I made about having the perfect start in Baldur's Gate 3. thanks so much for watching and until next time
