There we are again everybody in the winter
weather yet another snowstorm coming into the upstate New York area. I'm again today with this man. - Hello. Daniel Gaspar, sorry Danny Gaspar, and we
are exploring, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful manners of this trip. Everything
is Left Behind in there, it's a little bit vandalized, but it's all the way up this mountain,
we gotta probably hike for half an hour up there. Danny are you ready for this? - No. I promise you it's gonna be one of the last
locations with snow. - It's a snowstorm this morning, everything
is white. It's gonna be a tough one, but let's lock
the car, let's get over there, and uh yeah I'm pretty excited for this one to take you
in there. - Yeah me too! Okay, oh the guys are still working on it. - Okay. But we can already go, let's go, man! [Music] *Lesley is eating snow* I love this man, this weather for me is one
of the best and one of the worst, I love it and I hate it. But it feels like a winter wonderland, just
hiking up this mountain, and going to this abandoned place. [Music] [Music] Okay, bro, over there the distance is the
house that we're gonna film today, I say house but it's actually a complete Mansion, around
four floors, completely built out of wood, I think beginning in the 19th century or 20th
century excuse me. But look at the beauty that's popping up over
there between the trees. - It's big, it's gorgeous, and matches the
scenery. Bro, this is like a fairy tale, I say it all
the time, but this is literally a fairy tale, the snow dwindling around it and the curtains
slowly moving in the wind. *Lesley speaks French* This time we will take you to the mysterious
mansion of the former Fortuna family, which is located on top of a snow-covered mountain
and is reached by an endless winding road. Since the beginning of the 1900s, the Fortuna
family used to call this house their home, they were an extremely influential family
in the American real estate business and held properties all over the continental USA. Gladys was the only descendant of the Fortuna
family and naturally inherited the wondrous white mountain mansion and all the wealth
his family accumulated over their successful past.
He met a fine lady named Sheila, and they
fell in love on first sight and got married only a short time later, subsequently, she
moved into the white mansion with Gladys and some time later they got their one and only
child Olivia, Gladys was not very interested in real estate and decided to start a new
company in the trade of rare objects together with his wife Sheila, they would do business
all over the USA in the following decades and became experts in their field. Gladys and Sheila seemed like the perfect
couple. They were loved by their neighbourhood and did everything they could to help society.
But unfortunately, they didn't get to enjoy their old days. Gladys died in her early 70s,
and Sheila died of breast cancer a few years later, in the year 2000. Olivia having inherited their massive fortune
and having been set up for a life of luxury seemingly disappeared from planet earth, nobody
knows her whereabouts and nothing has been done with the mansion ever since her mothers
passing. Let us try today to uncover the mysteries

that we're going to document in the United States, wow, look at the sheer size of this
building, and I also absolutely love the protruding windows from this side. Normally you only see this in France and other
countries in Portugal, but now we've also seen it in the United States, bro did you
know that this property is 2 000 Acres. - Whoa! The family Fortuna that lived here, they were
rich, and they had a lot of influence. I'm ready to go inside, let's explore this beauty. Oh we enter into the basement of the place,
let's see what's left behind in here first thing that catches my attention in this basement
is definitely all the shutters that have been stacked against the wall here, and from the
outside we did the see shutters so maybe they took them off at one point. There's even a sink left here in the basement. I would say this is a pretty small basement
for such a large building or does it go through there? I would have also expected to find a wine
cellar in here, it's a very very small basement, you can also see the rock formation from the
basement in the back. Bro, this is even bigger than we think. - I think it goes further. You can see through there that there's a section
behind it. - Yeah, there's more! But I don't know how to reach it. - Maybe from the other side? There are stairs
from the other side. Oh there's upstairs also stairs into the basement. - Yeah, so probably there's two. Over here in the corner there are also still
some telephones left and these look like really old models, probably like 40 or 50 years old,
three of them stacked together in this box over here, pretty interesting! Oh, these might have been in the house at
some point, but have been placed in the basement right now and of course also a lot of firewood
back there, for the cold winter months. We are now in March here in upstate New York
and it's still freezing, this morning was a snowstorm, yeah you just saw it of course
from us walking up the road, watch your head Danny. - Yeah the pipes are too low. Yeah exactly, oh, have a look at this! Dutch boy, who is that? I'm the Dutch boy! Did you hear that? Probably just the wind. - Yeah or rat or something. Yeah, probably they're also animals throughout
this place, but this stairway here Danny is gonna take us inside of the Mansion or Manor
or however you want to call it. But it's a massive home that we're going to
explore right now, wow here you can also see the inside of the walls, how it's constructed
through the plaster and everything, little storage cabinet to this side and this will
lead us further into I believe yeah the kitchen of the household. Wow, welcome inside, oh the first thing I
notice in here is the enormously high ceiling, way higher than the other rooms that we're
going to see inside of this place. I don't know the purpose of this high ceiling,
but maybe it's just a design feature. Okay we have some cabinets to this side, a lot
of stuff on the floor, I can see a magazine still lying here, let's have a look! Town and Country it's from March 2000 only
a few months before Sheila passed away and the house got unfortunately abandoned. Here's the kitchen area, do you think these
people would cook themselves, because they were so rich? Maybe they had servants? - Probably, probably! Could be right, Danny you're the Portuguese
man, what's this? - Coffee maker. What kind of coffee? I would say espresso. - Coffee. Just normal coffee? - Coffee in general. Okay, interesting, you also have the last
pan of them still lying on here and what catches my attention is that the water in there is
not frozen, so that means that the house on the inside is actually above zero, plates
and everything is left here. An upholstered rocking chair here in the corner,
I've never seen one of those before. - Me neither! It looks beautiful, this is blue right? - Uh no, it's black, it was supposed to be
brown but it's burnt or something. You think it was brow? - Yeah look, you see this? Absolutely love this piece, this definitely
is a United States antique, this didn't came over from Europe, we have some side entrances
over here with lovely curtains above there, and a lamp hanging here in the middle of the
room. I think at one point it used to be an oil
lamp, but it has been converted, oh and here we have the stove that they used to heat up
this room, lovely cast iron work on there from a house and some animals, okay! Let's go further, another side entrance, clothing
hangers and here we have a small food pantry, where they stored some dishes, some other
appliances for the kitchen. And immediately we come into some sort of
a bathroom here, you can see the first signs of Decay, here in the ceiling 20 years of
abandonment, that's what it does to your home. The wallpaper is peeling off and the decay
is very present, a little bathroom for the guests and probably for themselves as well
and also with a shower to this side, when the kids were playing in the backyard they
would probably be put into the shower by Sheila over here. Oh also pretty interesting, that's how you
would turn off and turn on the light, from here we walk into a very very beautiful hallway,
I love the woodwork and design throughout here. Oh and the stairway it's also amazing, the
paint is slowly shipping off after the years of abandonment, oh we are walking over I believe,
this is the remains of a broken mirror. It used to hang somewhere probably in this
room, you can see some marks over here, so I think the mirror was on this wall at some
point, geez that's crazy! Even a lantern still hanging here in the middle
of the room, and this must have been most likely the front entrance of the house, where
the people were let into the place and I don't believe that this door that's in here was
the door back in the time. - No, no no. You can see the spider webs on there, it hasn't
been opened in a very long time, jeez! Okay one look at that hallway, later on in the
video we will go up there, but first let me show you this lovely living space, wow very
open, very roomy, love the curtains! Sheila or her husband Gladys would be playing
on here, looking through the windows enjoying themselves, let's see if this beauty still
plays. Oh very out of tune, very much out of tune. And then he just told me something when we
were inside of this house please tell it to the viewers as well uh back in the days mostly
children play the piano in Rich's houses because the rich parents played classes for them to
learn how to play piano you always see this in a movie that the the rich parents sent
their children to our private piano class and stuff like that so it's also true in real
life and I didn't realize that these this is just a record this isn't supposed to be
on here these piano books are that I would read from here oh this is from the piano class
look at this wow so definitely somebody in this house was taking some piano classes a lovely couch where they would sit together
in the evening enjoy themselves and then we have this decorative piece here in the corner
lovely woodworked carvings in here are absolutely amazing but I think this used to be a fake
fireplace there's absolutely no chimney or something like that okay yeah the real one
was up there oh the house got abandoned around July 2020
but there are still a Christmas ornament left here I don't know why do you know the name
for this in English I'm absolutely clueless I I used to know it but it's a difficult name
yeah [Music] polaroid pictures here bro oh oh yes of course
this is of that company they sold variable valuable rare objects this is a painting oh
yeah I was I was going to say that normally people photograph their own stuff in the house
so they know the value of what they have in the house okay because normally people do
that just to see like if you if you get robbed you know what they stole yeah we do as well
our insurance also demands us to do it on the on the floor we can see this patterns
carved into the wooden floor absolutely amazing and then we come to the other section they
used to probably be a dining table in here with chairs around it this used to be the
dining part of the house the drawers and the cabinet to this side and also some encyclopedias
on here America American history probably yeah lots of things on the ground definitely also very literature to people
very smart people they treasury of American literature what do we have over here lost Heritage of
Alaska very interesting books and this fireplace bro is absolutely fascinating broken mirror
unfortunately in the middle look at that woodwork that we have to decides of it this heated
up the room this provided warmth for the family wow there's already a very good start to our
exploration throughout this household and then we can go from this hallway straight
to these sliding doors at one point they used to be sliding doors but now they unfortunately
don't move anymore they're completely stuck it's actually a pretty small entrance way
through here please then I hit my head when I walked through here yeah geez you're as
tall as the door ah I'm a tall Dutch man but anyway we have another doorway inside the
house here see and here we can really start the UK that's happening in this place modern
nature is deteriorating this household a lot of things on the floor okay what do
we have over here bro it's probably from their real estate company
you can see some offerings of houses in here it's very interesting and are all in this
area around here oh my water is seeping through the ceiling inside
of this place okay it's very carefully walk over here first
one to go into this room let's have a look oh this used to be a bedroom at one point
very small bathroom maybe from a child or a young person that lived in this place oh
oh pink wallpaper over the pink paint on the walls it's amazing I also had a little drawer
in here see what we have over here this is a medical foot devices right just for to measure
your blood pressure right yeah that would be a pump on the end the world's last Mysteries
the melon family all very interesting booklets throughout this house unfortunately there's
no picture anymore in this Frame what else do we have over here even more documents from their real estate
company and I think this was their real estate company yeah of course they even sold the
house still in 1999. geez put this back nicely the books are almost
falling from the Shelf over here and this whole room do you see this yeah although we fell out of there I'm going to the rooms as you were in right
now what kind of room is this space the whole ceiling panels have fallen onto
the couch over there I think I think they put two ceilings they had the normal ceiling
and then they had the plaster ceiling here you can still see it yeah yeah this is still
up this used to be the former ceiling and then this was added on later it looks like
it looks like a wooden board or something like that yeah lovely couches over here the
television in the middle these you see a lot throughout the United States they're very
common and then a massive stove inside of this room better better and bends it says
I'm there I love this cast iron stove still some last ashes left in here what do we have
on top of here teddy bear dog that looks completely misformed oh my gosh he looks very creepy
and then the chimney leading outside of the house it's literally a complete couch underneath
this Rubble that's insane let's have a look in the closet over here
all the clothing Sheila has left behind an air even some towels
and everything still left in there and from here you can also look outside of the house
and this is the porch it's the front entrance of the place the pillars and everything in
here okay is also very present over here wow what a beautiful room man see what more we can find oh this is also
a stairway it's not walkable anymore luckily for us there is another stairway that can
lead us to the top floor and there we are everybody it's time to wander
up this beautiful stairway to the second floor absolutely does not love the designs that
are on here and the woodwork everything about the stairway it's protruding pieces of food
this is definitely the most beautiful stairway I've seen so far in the United States oh and
literally every single hallway that leads up is made with this beautiful wooden walls
oh can we even have a complimentary piece of Furnishing standing here there's a lovely
table is this a record bro I think so yeah there's
nothing in there anymore of it maybe had one probably one point there used to be a record
in there and even if the rolls of wallpaper is still left here that they used for the
walls wow oh okay I think the first room that we're going to enter into is this one over
here seems like it used to be a bathroom at some point and yes it is have a look you have
to go down a Stairway to get into this room and then you have this raised section over
here with a bath and toilet and the sink is on I absolutely adore this bathtub it's something
that you would expect in such a grand manner and these look like Eagle Paws instead of
law lion paws wow must have been wonderful when Sheila was
done with a long day of work she would lay herself in this bottle with a nice glass of
red wine or white wine and then the lovely sink right in front of us here the marble
on there then the iron legs and even the bathroom of her is still left here isn't that just
wonderful see if it still functions no I wouldn't have expected it to do okay our toothbrush
is also still left behind and then we also have a vanity standing here
against the wall three mirrors on there even our comb still left on top of here jeez these
people literally left everything behind maybe Sheila didn't have anybody left in the family
to take over all this stuff we don't know this exactly letter here who is this one directed the handwriting
on here is very difficult to read fortunately then from here in this lovely bathroom you
can go further into the next row welcome inside tease there's a lot of rubble
on the floor in this room and also a lot of decay see these books oh they're literally
falling apart and then this cabinet behind us here jeez used to be a little Library okay
we have a card lying here that's pretty interesting Collectibles International rare objects are
Jewels antiques contemporary full estate service and this used to be the company of Sheila
fortune and Gladys Fortune so those were the people that lived inside this mansion and
that was their company isn't that just wonderful even their jackets and everything still left
in this room again another table completely filled with
Lazarus and everything dear Sheila Fortune wishing you and your loved ones a beautiful
holiday season filled with peace and happiness from December 1900 95. absolutely insane and
this was also from their company they send out these mailing lists to everybody that
wasn't listed oh not a little library to this site a little
book rack oh I see a picture down there bro might this have been Sheila probably see this
picture is probably very old looks like from 2009 yeah the 90s 2000s she still looks very
young on this picture and she's somewhere in the Middle East you can see there's a camel
with her somewhere in the desert someone we've got a lovely book over here gallery of the
USA National Gallery of the USA okay in memory of Hollis C Kinsey it's inside of here oh
these are all artworks absolutely beautiful Filipino Lippy portrait of a youth and these
are all artworks I think on display in the United States to be a bit careful we don't destroy anything
we have to be very careful Danny walking underneath here because if you knock something down the
whole feeling will just collapse in on a chair you can even look through the outside to the
outside through the ceiling absolutely crazy okay let's go through here and here's that
stairway that we just saw from the downstairs completely collapsed from up here and made
unwalkable let's first go to that room over there this used to also be a bedroom at some point
the mattress is still in here everything is still left in the air newspapers on the floor the New York Times from August 2000 this was
literally the month on this place got abandoned oh oh and here we walk again into another bedroom
look at this lovely bed that we have here in front of us this looks like a Portuguese
bed row now it's too big too big yeah in Portugal they're always a very small bass but I was
more elaborated the ornaments yeah the crown but in Portugal the the size of the mattress
needs to be lower because we are smaller yeah sorry you can see it the difference between
me and you yeah you're you are probably like 15 to 20 centimeters shorter yeah but I'm
a little bit high for Portuguese people really yeah okay I didn't know that yeah okay because
your parents also aren't at all my whole family is part of my family is French and they are
all tall at the Portuguese side it's all small that's why I'm half off it's very interesting
I wonder how that happens over the years because we dutchies are the tallest people in the
world okay and here he is Lily in a hole in the wall where you can look straight to the
outside and see the forest behind the house and even icicle up there that's so cool to
see when I'm talking about an abandoned place this is really one of them even the drawer
over here or what is left of the door now you can see the pieces of clothing still hanging
on the side Frozen up glad I'm still standing here there's nothing left of this picture oh that must have been such a nice corner
to just read a book and look over the fields look over the of the forest bro I want to
live here yeah it's an incredible Mission absolutely incredible again you can get another
view from the outside I can show you because I love it and this might have been a skirt
somebody that lived in this place most likely from Sheila let's walk out of here and let's go to the
other section of the second floor [Music] foreign because I think the big bedrooms might start
up here hot even the stairway goes up to a third floor that we haven't explored yet and then we come into this room definitely
at one point this used to be a very large bedroom and unfortunately all the clothes
are thrown all over the floor now and search for something somebody has been in here searching
through all these Goods oh here we still have some clothes from Sheila left behind she wore
some pretty fancy clothes I must say very bright very colorful probably a very joyful
lady in life as she lived in a beautiful part of the country must have you must be in a
good mood when you live here and these were the protruding windows we saw from the outside
and that literally overlooked the property all the way around it and stand there in the
morning with your cup of coffee overlooking your land and being proud of where you live
even our handbags left I just saw this painting I was like wow this is beautiful look at the
signature oh my God Danny you're right somebody from the family made this one is 76. it's
50 years old when someone painted over that's stupid yeah absolutely that's that's the flower
pot that they painted over yeah it might have been hanged up right here probably also files
definitely and I was also saw this handbag over here probably Sheila her handbag as well
left here nothing in there anymore unfortunately oh that's some crazy things here we got the
first pictures of the family that's probably them Sheila and Gladys Gladys
excuse me Mister oh it's chested on there maybe there's photos of the events because
they they had a lot of events people not to be a bit careful Excuse Me Knocking over some
things they had a lot of events he said yeah with other people so maybe those are they
just want to see what's written on here no that's not them mystery yeah Mr Rose Mrs Rose
a Mr something wow but indeed those could have been the events
that the hosted probably in this property as well oh I look at this beautiful view that
we have over here I didn't see a lake around the house so that's probably not here probably
on some travels around the world look at this this man is controlling a sailboat yeah and
this is Peter where it says on there summer of 18 1985. wow that's absolutely amazing
excuse me our place is all neatly back where it belongs and here are even more pictures
of the people that lived in this place there are handbags in here their shoes and everything
even the white gloves to handle the rare objects that I traded with I can still see them using
it absolutely fascinating in the morning I came in here to put this all on this is sort
of a walk-in dresser that we walked through all the clothing and all the bedlin are still
in here but I see something and right in front of me that really intrigues my attention and
this is the heaven bedroom as I call it probably the last room where Sheila used to sleep in
her beloved room it's the first time I see a bed like this in the United States you see
them more in Europe it is a pretty unique thing even still made and there are some pictures
on top of here they caught an animal that's a monkey I think
oh yeah I'm holding it I think they have it as a pet you are not serious it's in a cage
and the cage is downstairs that's completely illegal in Europe I think they had it which he said yeah geez and now we got this lovely bed right in front
of us here with the nightstand right next to it oh even
her head still on top of here and this is a picture probably of claudis
and Sheila and again more events that I hosted foreign book this looks like gymnastics or a play that they were doing or something
like that yeah absolutely maybe they're children and even more pictures of them left here as
well ah there we got a family picture bro wow that's
a very old one lovely lady here hanging on the wall oh and even more pictures down here you can definitely
see these were all the events that I hosted for the company the people the customers the
business people that are all in here all the people are wearing very fancy clothes you
can see they were very wealthy and well-off people have a look at that so many pictures yeah so many memories and
pictures left behind in this place it's unfathomable why anybody would ever decide to leave this
behind I think these are some pictures inside of
the house here this might have been on the property one of the cars at the lake with
the children and the dog these are definitely some pictures made inside of the house and here we have a picture of the zoo from
an elephant Sheila on vacation somewhere you can see the
palm trees they also definitely love to travel around the world because they were very wealthy
and they they could just do it watch out over here bro there is a hole in the floor this
leads us further into the hallway there's one more floor bro oh I'm ready to go up there
I don't want to leave this house behind but we have to show everything right yeah this
is a very interesting design feature of the stairway I would call the stalactite but it's
not of course just an ornament yeah exactly it's also beautifully designed on every single
corner oh a broken vase here on a Stairway that brings luck broken pieces bring lock
okay here we are the last floor of the house wow what even up here you can see the wooden
design on the walls oh at the highest point of the house overlooking the back Garden see I think we have one more bedroom up here
yes oh and I love this one it's completely yellow when you come inside of the room I
think this used to be a child's bedroom at one point but you can see some photographers
have been in here and try to restore what's left of the painting but this used to be a
beautiful painting that hung here on the wall this young noble gentleman absolutely amazing
and then the wind blowing into the curtain to the left here I absolutely love this room what do we have
here still a little chest oh yeah it used to be whenever we are exploring the country
of Portugal where Danny is from we always encounter a lot of chests and now we're also
seeing them in the United States I think this used to be a suitcase to travel the world
with wow beautiful piece lovely pink in there what's on there tentony never heard of that before probably a very expensive brand that I don't
know of oh look at this there's even a sewing machine
standing here at the end of the room Sears Canmore different levels that you could adjust over
here lovely stable for the sewing machine then we have the same protrusion in the window
and a little sitting area over here the suitcase has opened up and it's revealing this picture
wow these people that look so fancy on air content 100 polyester this has never been
used somebody bought this in the time in the store and then never used it to make something
look like that the suitcase is completely set up to go on a journey even the glasses
of Sheila or her husband are still left here together with that another glove yeah exactly lovely chair standing next to it and then
we have the uniform of the man still hanging here a lot of handwritten paperwork also still
on top of here foreign never heard of this book before do you actually
read books Danny because I don't know uh once in a while yeah not not as often but okay The Limited Motor Parts and Services guarantee

movie guide from the year 1999 to the year 2000s you still knew when we had magazines
where the newest movies would be uh would be talked about and stuff like that something
we don't do anymore nowadays look how beautiful everything is written in here wow okay and
then we again we have another walkthrough little hallway uh also a dressing area I would
say all the clothing of them still left in here this goes to the last room on the upstairs
here the third floor this again is a very tiny bed this you would consider a Portuguese
BET right it's too small too big too small you have to make your decisions bro no I would
say it's Portuguese just because of the ornaments and the way the bed is designed I would classify
this one more as Italian because yeah because it's painted yeah Italians always have beautiful
paintings everywhere it's also lovely that it's still made and again with the merry Christmas
pillow at the end of it at the end of the bed definitely Charles bedroom looking at
the Furnishings in here the upholsteries of clouds it's very funny this chair also is
all over clones I hadn't seen that one yet it's also a lovely share definitely from a
child that's nothing yeah from the daughter or the son goget's treasure classic American
Edition we have another painting oh this is probably the child that slept in this room can you help me yes thank you she's drawing
some Japanese symbols wow foreign 1969 Shimmy Rock School says in there wow
that's a long time ago even the handbag still left here what a house
what a house then we can go out again we're back up in the hallway [Laughter] [Music] thank you [Music] let's go up this stairway ethics are for me
always the places of most interest because the oldest pieces of the house are stored
up here people think they don't need something anymore or they're probably gonna use it in
the future and then they store it up here oh what are these they can be unfolded and make it made into
a seed of some sort probably for the outside outside oh that's very very heavy cheese and
all the Christmas balls are also up here completely over snowed as you can see the
windows are broken and the snow is blowing in foreign a lot of shares up here maybe from
the dining table downstairs probably nothing we didn't saw a big dining table no it's just
me in that living room yeah so maybe it was downstairs exactly I think so too definitely
lots of Christmas ornaments all left up here they broke it down one last time and never
again it was reused crazy oh this is amazing Danny have a look it's a painting that probably
also somebody in a housemate and I think they try to represent the house on here between
the forest between between the pine trees that's so amazing they should have a nice place inside of the
house to my opinion even more letters directed to Sheila left here and then this enormous
antenna from television is left of here as well wow okay oh what's this have you ever
seen a chest like this before no okay let me place down my sorry I'm making a big mess
of myself at the end of the video but let's what would be inside of here how do you even
open this up cabinets foreign this is a weird there's a drawer in here there's
even Wheels and here wow it's a weird chest oh I think I know what this is Daddy what
so the rich people would take this on their vacations and this would actually be a drawer
that they just could place in a hotel room and then they had like everything everything
in one place okay I'm gonna put this upright how it's supposed to be let me see okay that's
gonna be happy okay one two four this is so heavy snow truck driving by okay and as you can
see right now this is how it was supposed to be in the hotel room we were standing like
this even all the clothing hangers are still in here I think that would be up here like
