[Music] Nestled in a small town, the house on the corner of the street was once the home of Mr. Fred, an American war veteran. Mr. Fred had lived in the house for many decades and it held countless memories for him. He had served his country during the Vietnam War and had seen and experienced things that most people couldn't even imagine. For the last two decades, Mr. Fred lived alone in the house. His son, who had also grown up in the house, had moved out at the beginning of the 2000s to start his own family. But even though his son was gone, Mr. Fred couldn't bring himself to leave the house that held so many memories of his family and the time when his wife was still alive. [Music] As the years passed, the house began to show its age. The paint was peeling, the roof was leaking, and the garden was overgrown, but to Mr. Fred, the house was still beautiful and it still held a special place in his heart. [Music] Thank you. Now, the once-beautiful house stands abandoned and forgotten. Its exterior weathered and its walls holding the secrets of a life gone by. [Music] But we will not let Mr. Fred's story fade into obscurity. Join us as we delve into the heart of the past and uncover the untold story of a war veteran, his loss, and the sacrifice he made for his country. Welcome back, everybody, to another episode on the Bros of Decay. I'm Lesley, and today I'm documenting one of the most fascinating homes we have found so far in the United States. Behind the camera, it's my best friend Danny filming with me today, and we are very excited to document the home of Fratz. He was a person who cared for the United States and was a nationalist. He was a veteran and even fought in the Vietnamese War with honor. I'm going to explore his house today, thank you, Fred, for serving this country, and I'm going to give some respect back to you and give you one last picture of your life, bro. Let's go through it. Let's do it! It's a small home, it's a tiny home, but it's a very interesting home. When Fred passed away four years ago in 2018, he left everything behind. For some reason, the children of Fred and the grandchildren don't care about the place anymore. They didn't come in here. They just left it like this four years ago when Fred passed away. The chair where I was sitting was probably the seat where Fred used to rest the most, where he was sitting all the time. And, as I told you before, he had been lonely for two decades because his wife passed away before him. This is a lovely setup, Danny. Yeah, I love this setup. It's pretty typical, just a reclining American chair. No, no, no, no, he has to be you see this, yeah, yeah, of course, of course, of course, see him sitting here in his reclining chair. Wow! And I'm probably watching one of the movies he had on this film rack over there. You seem to be a big fan of The Fast and Furious. The whole series, all of them, and even a lot of CDs left on the floor over there. Bro, we're back once again to take a look at this setup. Check it out, close it, close it, show it again. Wow, you were more interested in the world! No, no, take a look. Yeah, how it opens. This is our beloved Fred's setup. This is the man, and even his watch is still here. Wow, look at this, Lenny. There's even a little pocket knife with "Freddy" on it. Wow, this was from him. Oh, that is a...what's this? A little pocket watch? I don't know. All of his jewelry and belongings were left here when he came home. Sorry, there's one more thing I should have shown you. This is his veteran deck, his war attack. Your hands are too big. He's also named Joseph, it says on there, of course. Wow, that is so interesting to see. I don't know why it's not focusing, but yeah, it's interesting to see all of his belongings are still left here. I think I just destroyed it. No, it just comes off. Yeah, okay. That's so beautiful. When guests came over, if his family was still alive, they would all be sitting here together. I believe he had one son. We saw pictures of him throughout the house, right? Yeah, one son. So the son and his wife, two decades ago, would be sitting here together with him. Everything is also still on the dining table. Look, a lovely radio back here, and there are even still some sweets left behind. This looks like...oh, Reese's. Reese's! I didn't know they made those types of chocolates. Yeah, I think they made them in all shapes and forms. Back to the music. Wow, AC/DC. Fred was a music and film lover, you can see the nice decorations throughout the house. And over here, you can see a plane. Maybe when he was in the war or the army, he also learned how to fly a plane. Maybe this was part of his job, I don't know exactly what he did in the army, but it's a possibility. And of course, we have the television over here where all the DVDs and CDs would be watched. Back in the day, he had a nice setup. Definitely, the speakers and everything. Yeah, nice pork audio speakers next to it, a five-disc changer, so we could switch between movies. You can still see him here enjoying this setup. Oh, even a PlayStation. Wow, really? Yeah, there's a tree. Yeah, it's a PlayStation 3. Oh my God! I haven't told you yet, but the power in this place still works. Wow. Wow, Howard it says I'm there. Wow, do you think it plays? I don't know, let's have a look. Yeah, you just push it in this way around. Sorry, I haven't used this. Yeah, it's that way. Okay, it's on video one, so it might still be playing. Okay, and then play. It's playing, but I don't think it's the right channel. No, you need to try AV. God, this is very, very unclear. Yeah, video. Maybe video two. Oh my God, we got audio! We got something! Yeah, this happens with VHS. Yeah, it's that. I'll try another one. It happens. How do I eject this one? Eject. Oh, it's playing the... Oh, this is the PlayStation. He's playing the PlayStation at the same time, that's why it's not working. Maybe I should switch off the PlayStation. Okay, sorry. Yeah, no, this was the PlayStation, Danny. No, that was the VHS. It was playing the two at the same time. Jesus Christ, man. I've never seen this before. You're literally going through. Okay, this is crazy. This is absolutely crazy. Oh, wow." Yeah, it doesn't play anymore. I think it's broken, bro. But this was so cool to see. I really wanted to see the memories of Mr. Howard, uh, Fred Howard, this is his name. Yeah, they're on here for sure. Oh, but unfortunately, we can't play those anymore. That's the sentiment, that's absolutely. It's so cool to see. Absolutely, it's cool and crazy. I'll just say it's left here insane. Okay, let's waste no more time with the TV. Let's go further throughout the house. This is also such a lovely bedroom, and I think this might have been Fredy's bedroom at the final years of his life. Perhaps because he already grew very old, and we also found this device in the bedroom. This is an asthma breeder, so he most likely had asthma, I don't know for the whole duration of his life, but definitely at the end of his life he was struggling with his health. Absolutely love this bedroom. I've never seen anyone putting deer at the end of the bed like we have here. These cardboard deer act as pillows on the bed, probably for decoration, but I don't know. Lovely flowers on the wall, and then a nice bedroom stand here with a mirror above it. Let's see if these lights also still work. No, this one doesn't function anymore. I think this room used to be an office or a small space that was turned into a bedroom because this looks too small. We can't fit together in this room. Maybe, as I said before, at the end of his life they were like, 'let's move his bed in here, and let's move the desk out.' That happens a lot, and it also happened to my grandfather because he couldn't move up the stairs anymore. Now, let's show this one more in depth. Here we have some pictures of Fred together with his grandson. I believe. Here we have another one, and here we're going to see the first artifact from the year of abandonment, January 2017. That's five years ago, but there's one more recent one than that. Also, a family gathering here. That's absolutely lovely. Oh, Danny, look at this. Oh, wow. Yeah, it doesn't focus too close. Oh, there we are. This is a picture of Fred and his wife. Wow, isn't that just beautiful? Before she passed away, you can also see that Fred is a lot younger in that picture. Yeah, you can see him changing. What did I just find? Yeah, okay, interesting. Sometimes it's the weirdest stuff that's why I love exploring abandoned houses. And you know what, Danny, parts of an oil lamp. Yes, I think that's the entire oil lamp. Yeah, oh, yeah, lovely to see. Wow, okay, there you go again. And then we go further more. Oh, documents, lots and lots of documents, and this is full of books. It was definitely... A film fan pointed out this one [Music]. Danny is the Portuguese pirate in our films, and when he travels with us, his surname is Gushbar and we call him that. He also looks like a pirate, but it's funny. Here are some bills from him, but let's not show that as it's very personal. It's just all bills from the bank and stuff like that. Oh yeah, I also haven't looked in this cabinet yet. I should turn on some light. Let's open this beauty up! In here, you can see the general appliances cabinet and some tape, but what I looked at first was this Canon PowerShot. It's a lovely camera, and you can feel the weight especially inside. It's just a book, but sometimes they are heavy. I would love to find the camera, maybe even charge it up, and see what's on there, if we can find it, of course. Where would you normally keep a camera, Danny? Next to the electronics, which is here. I was looking if I can even find this GPS. Everything is left in this house, literally from one moment to the other, completely left behind. This house has a lot of technology, normally we just film older houses, but this one has more technology, exactly. That's also what I notice as well. We've got the fan down here, this is actually a pretty vintage device, I would say 1990s, 1980s. It looks lovely. Stand underneath, and then everybody can walk straight into the living space. Was this sort of a dining area, you would say? No, I think it's more of a relaxing area, but you don't see a dining area in this house. Oh yeah, in the kitchen of course, the kitchen dining space. Normally, we also have a separate dining area. Maybe we'll see that later, but I understand what he's saying, like two living rooms. Yeah, because we have one on this side and another one on this side. That's just a little bit strange, lovely picture of a woman on the table here. Don't know who she is, but she looks lovely. Absolutely. Now, we have the space over here where Mr. Frat used to sit and guests that came over or someone from the family. Lots and lots of pictures back there, lots and lots of memories. This is most definitely the same grandchild as we saw before, but at an older age. I see a lot of pictures. This was when Fred was younger. Yeah, definitely. It really looks about 50 years old. Happy Father's Day! Oh, yeah, of course. There's a beautiful classic car outside that we're going to show you at the end of the video, but oh, please read the license plate. Oh, love that! Wow, I wanted to open it. There's even a complete letter in here. Oh my God! Happy Father's Day! It is from 2015 and Greg, his grandson, sent it to him. 'Happy Father's Day! I will always cherish those Sunday memories of going to car shows and watching scary movies, and all those TV shows he would tape during the week. Visiting museums, having a blast riding motorcycles, playing paintball, and causing all kinds of trouble with fireworks. You are the absolute best! We always have a good chuckle when we think about our trip to Fright Fest at Six Flags New England when you peeked into that window and screamed frantically. Love you, Dad! Crack bro! This is so beautiful. That was a beautiful message, especially for Father's Day. Yeah, this really reminds you how important family is. Greg, you had an amazing father. I have a lot of respect for this man. Serving his country, being there for his family, going for his grandchildren. Danny, that really got me for a second. Yeah, that's why it was heavy. It's so beautiful. What's this box doing here on the floor? Oh no, it's a drawer, and it's full of nails, probably used to make things. It was probably everything is still in here. This is all a box full of nails and everything that he needed to fix the house. Here are the remotes. Oh, have you seen this entrance? No, you see the whole tree over here with the jacket and everything? Or, there's a band of him still on there. His shoes are still down below, but what's the most interesting part of this all? Do you see it? The computer! Oh my! What? Okay, do you think you're thinking I can still plug this in? The power still functions. Yeah, yeah! Oh my God! It literally functions! I've never seen this before inside of an abandoned place. Me neither. I never fall. I don't want to go through too much. I don't think it's going to work. I don't think it's going to work properly because it's Windows 7. Of course, it's going to work properly. And this is not very old for me, yeah. Of course, it's not old, we are from the 90s, but it's gonna function, I'm sure of that. Look, here is the owner of the account, welcome! Oh, wow, we're now inside the computer, everything is still here. It's still booting up, but give it a moment. Yeah, it's a bit slow, Windows 7, it's an old computer. This is the Toronto ride, I'm not sure, I don't know. See pictures? No, there's nothing personal on here anymore, yeah, but it's so cool to see that this computer still functions. Crazy! I'm speechless. I've never seen this before. This house is abandoned, everybody. Yeah, yeah, look at the dust on top of the computer. See, there's dust everywhere, spider webs everywhere. We're not filming somebody's house, we're literally filming an abandoned place. Yeah, you're gonna see it in the kitchen, I think that's the part where you'll see it's abandoned. I've never seen something like this before. Really, I'm speechless. Okay, let's go further. Wow, have you seen this? All the keys are still left here. Jesus Christ, maybe even the key to the car outside. Yeah, this might be it. This looks like it. That's absolutely insane. The lights don't work anymore. Let's go further because this house is getting crazier and crazier. I love this sitting corner over here as well, the light and the big sofa where you could rest. Even a cushion is still lying here after all this time. Lovely decoration on the wall, you can see he had flowers throughout the house. Yeah, he probably loved those. What do we have over here? A lot of keys, and a lot of things. I thought it was a pass-through to the kitchen, but it's not. It's a head over here, of course, still hanging here. "Winston" is a cigarette brand. And over here, you have the closet still filled with all his clothing, fresh from the dry press. As you can see, everything is still in there, and you can see some spots of DK above there. You know what this is, bro? Oh, the color! There's an ammunition box. Yeah, and you know what? It's from the Army. No bullets, but it's completely full of short target bullets. Oh well, it's Winchester long rifle. Do you think there's still a gun inside? It could be, for sure. Army box! Oh, everything is all in here, bro! I love the iron as well. It's standing here on the floor. This is pretty old, I would say. Looking if there's a gun in here. I don't see anything. His glasses, everything, are still in here. Jesus Christ, everything has been left behind. Oh, and it was also a person who believed in luck because he plays the horse right way up. Yeah, there's two more in here. Oh, there's more up there. Yeah, gold ones and the Triumph. I also love the vacuum. Thank you. He probably had this for the entirety of his life. These machines, they never die. They'll last forever and ever and ever. Okay, before we go into that room in the basement, let's first go into the kitchen and check that out, okay? And then we end up in the kitchen of the place, bro. We're just talking about no dining space in the house, but there are two: the breakfast area and I think they're in our area or vice versa. It doesn't really matter. But from the kitchen, you can see that this place has definitely decayed. It has been left behind. Look up there, the whole ceiling is falling apart. Moisture is forming, and the place is starting its process of deterioration. It's completely filled. Yeah, like I don't even know. I don't even know where to start looking throughout this place. Oh, look over here, some bullets left behind, and oh, a dollar bill. It's a completely deteriorated dollar bill. This was the dining table where Mr. Fred, his son, his wife, they all used to have dinner together here. Gosh, have you ever seen something like this before? You know what that is, yeah, to hold the paper, but it's not toilet paper, it's the kitchen paper, but it's made from marble. Oh my gosh. Now I'm curious. What's the chance that the fridge still works? Zero. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, dead. Yeah, it is dead. Now, we have the kitchen itself. Literally everything has been left in here. Even the coffee cups from four in the morning are still in here. Time stopped at three o'clock in the afternoon, or in the evening, I'm not sure. But, Lily, this is how it is left behind. All the knives are still in here. I think even all the glasses and cups, yeah, I can see, yeah, over here as well, everything is still left in there. And even the dishes are still left in the sink over here. Just be careful, there's stuff everywhere. So many appliances. Do you know what this is used for? Is this some sort of an oven? I don't, yeah. I've never seen something like this before. Me neither, with the doors opening like that. Pretty lift the oven and also display up there and the knobs. Pretty American, I would say, yeah. Okay, let's focus on that side now. It's one thing I want to show you here, the date on the calendar: year 2018, in the month of August. This place has been left behind. If the radio is still left here and everything, he was definitely a music lover. Film over, he lost all things considering art. Look up here. I didn't even see that. It's even more deterioration up here, like the window. You could look straight into the living space. Yeah, it looks like this part of the house might have been added on later. Yeah, looks like it. Yeah, cabinets are still standing here. Oh, bro, this is one of those secretary desks. Wow, opens up. You do your paperwork. I always talk about it. I absolutely adore these pieces of furniture. They're really lovely. And then, the dining space itself from Mr. Fred, even this jacket over there is still left on the wall. Okay, and then it's time to walk through here because we also have a basement to show you. This used to be the connection from his bathroom to his basement. So, this was his downstairs bathroom, but there is no shower in here, just a toilet and a sink. Let's go in there and let's explore this basement. There are a few things up here, you can see his shoes still standing there. We can go into here because it's a very narrow space to go through. In the north of the United States, it seems like people have basements more often than in the south of the United States. I think it has to do with the weather, but I'm not 100% sure about that. There is a lot of storage in here, you can even see that this air conditioning or fan is still functioning. It's completely dirty, but it's still functioning because you can see the light is still blinking. I'm not going to turn it on, it will make too much noise, but that's very interesting. Wow, see also city billiards balls still lying here, all his tools and equipment. There are not a lot of things that are very interesting in here, but it's still lovely to go through. This was again some sort of a storage area. It definitely was a big fan of billiards as well, a lot of billiard balls. All these boxes that we see in here are filled with white billiard balls. Yeah, up here there are even more, that's pretty interesting. Everybody absolutely loves that fact, and a lot of cues are also left here. Maybe on a Sunday he went out with his friends to the bar and played some billiards. Okay, back upstairs. [Music]. And now, it's time to explore upstairs where Fred and his family kept their most private part of the house. Only a select few were allowed inside. As we walk up, we are greeted with a red shimmer from the curtain hanging in the stairway. It looks like a brothel, but it's lovely and adds a nice accent to the house. Once upstairs, we find a beautiful and cozy environment with decorative pieces on the walls such as butterflies, flowers, and leaves. It's clear that Fred loved nature. The bathroom has bright yellow color with a broken toilet. We then move on to the first bedroom of the house. It's believed to be the master bedroom, as the other room looks like a children's room. In Fred's room, we find his army formal uniform and his surname, Maidan, as well as a nickname he was given in the army, Spiker. It is clear that Fred was an American veteran who served in the U.S military. The uniform is complete with buttons from the United States of America. That's lovely. Also, great decoration all throughout this bedroom. Again, nature coming back with lovely porcelain statues down here. Danny, I'm in love with this house. Yeah, I've never seen something like this before. The power is working, the laptop is working, everything's still working. Yeah, and the house feels cozy too. Not like absolutely, yeah. It's different. It has a different atmosphere. I think that's because all the decorations are on the walls, and it just gives a warm feeling. Yeah, yeah, it does. Would it still work? No, that doesn't function anymore. Then we have this side over here with a nice stand and a nice drawer with some beautiful artifacts on there from simpler times. That's the book for me. I love the simpler times from 2017. Bodies home present, I'm just curious about what's in there. Oh, it's a calendar. Wow, and it shows the old times when people were still farmers. Look how lovely this looks, absolutely. Everything, and I'm lucky right now. This one still functions. I think only the outlets function. Ah, that might be a possibility because not a single light is functioning right now. Look at this. Yeah, I think that's his son. Yeah, sure. Definitely, we've seen him a lot of times inside of the house right now. This is a photo from inside his car, and there's a big pile of cash in there. You see that? Yeah, it's probably like ten thousand dollars, maybe even more. Maybe we went out to buy a new classic car by bringing all this money with him. Yeah, the car outside, maybe who knows? All this clothing is still neatly folded up and left in here. Look, he's like me. He buys ten of the same shirts. Yeah, exactly the same person. I don't care about clothing. I just buy ten of the same. The televisions are still here as well. Are you turning it on? Yeah, power. Yeah, this one doesn't seem to function anymore, but the button is on. The green button. Where do you see the green button? Next to the power. You see it? It's a yellow button as well, but it's green. Okay, but it doesn't function anymore, unfortunately. You see, ah, it was working. Wait, wait. I see a red light. Yeah, you see the red light on right now. Okay, that's unfortunate. Wow, absolutely crazy. This cabinet is the same as downstairs, really? Yeah, all matches the wardrobe downstairs. The wardrobe, no, the other cabinet. Everything left. How can everything be left like that? Absolutely insane. What is in my house keeps blowing my mind. And then even in here. Oh, that's so cool to find. It's a U.S. Army hat, also still left inside the house. Jesus Christ. Okay, let's go to the other side right now. Okay, Penny, Denny. Yeah, the PlayStation PS3. So that's the PlayStation downstairs, exactly with Netflix. You see, this house hasn't been abandoned for a long time. Yeah, it's crazy to see, and everything is also still here. All this clothing, even more clothes in here, completely filled. This house was, this some sort of upstairs sitting area, which is maybe a nice piece of decoration. Yeah, I think something like that. We have more pictures of the young boy. I think when he was even younger. These are the pictures from that period of time, and now we have this child next to here. He looks very young, but this picture is also vintage, very old. Yeah. Victoria, I'm opening the cabinet. As I thought, there are all the bottled items and stuff like that. That's what this cabinet is used for. We have another cabinet over here, I think this was more for administration. Yeah, it looks like a treasure trove to me. I love these little revolving number searchers. They are so convenient. You go to the "U" and you can immediately find what you're looking for. This is from the towing company, located in front of the house. Everything is still here, including all the paperwork. I'm going to look at one of them. Ah, this is all administrative, numbers, accounting and stuff like that. This is his bank checks, geez. Of course, you can see what it is. What's this? It looks like an Oscar. Oh, gold-plated! That's insane! This house, the man who lived here was such a loving father. Absolutely. And these kids loved him for sure. There aren't many more items like this. No, it's not the right one. Look at this lamp stand over here. Yeah, it has a little niche, wow, it opens up to reveal some knickknacks, a porcelain statue inside. Lovely, really lovely. And now we have this side over here. Danny, don't you think that he was an airplane pilot in the US Army? We saw yet another artifact of airplanes inside the house. Young boy, this was probably a school picture. Yeah, they look very alike. Oh, they do. They are exactly the same. Yeah, those are the same boys. Yeah, it's his kid for sure. And they, they look alike. They look, yeah, that's what you say. Yeah, yeah, sorry, I didn't understand you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. They look, they look absolutely alike. Even more clothes in here. I'm going to go in depth into there. This Christmas decoration, yeah. There is a lot of Christmas decoration left in this box. Hundreds of Christmas balls left in here, lovely. And then everybody, we've got one last room in here. My sir, it's been an honor if you go first and show everybody this last room. I think to be honest, this was not his bedroom and this was to get special. Yeah, that's what we were saying. Yeah, also lovely decoration in this room. I absolutely love it. This gold-bladed mirror is beautiful and wonderful to look at. I love it when it has very intriguing bands and curves, and yeah. Leaves on the wall, just gonna test it out. Okay, it's really crazy. I've never seen something like this before, bro. This house has some nice things in the wall. I love to stand underneath, that's what I was trying to point out. Look at this, it's definitely an antique piece, a copper stand beautifully designed. And then the bed itself is still made, with the pillows on there. These are VHS tapes, right? Yeah, so they probably hold memories from him. This is just a movie that he recorded from the TV, "The Honeymooners, Volume 12." Wow! And there's way more over here. These are all movies. Mr. Freddie was a big movie lover. These ones are very vintage, very well-kept. They're all in this room here. Even the alarm clock is still left here. Wow, and a suitcase for his travels around the world. All the clothing is also still left in here, of course, army gear. Maybe his children also went into the army. Yeah, maybe that might be a possibility. I can assume that, but that might be. [Music] [Music] It's time to go outside, but outside I have a surprise for you all that you're really going to enjoy. There's a house behind us, but very silently, there are some neighbors so we have to watch out, bro. Close the door behind you, I'll close the door. Look at this beauty here in the backyard. This used to be Fred's car, and it's a very rare car. It costs around 100,000, if this Buick was still in perfect condition. You can see now it's deteriorating, it's falling apart. The paint is fading, it's just a shell. It's a real shame. Yeah, it's an amazing car, it's really beautiful. I bet Fred loved driving this beast. Even has a boost gauge on there. You see that? I don't think you see it on the camera. Is it still open? Yeah, you can barely see it. It's a boost gauge, and that's only something for very high-performance cars. Absolutely beautiful piece. Even the license plates are still on this beast. Cheers! I really want to hear it start up. Danny, I know you love American muscle cars. Yeah, you would most likely enjoy this one. This is lovely. This one is lovely. Look. Wow, medium logo. No, I'm not sure, but it's definitely a racing logo. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Wow, I just don't know why he didn't park it in the garage. Then it would still have been in perfect condition right now. I know it's nothing anymore. Here, we can get a glimpse from the outside of the house. It's a fascinating place, completely built out of wood with the pillars and everything. Let's see if there's something in the garage. It's full, but it's full of junk. Yeah, that's why he didn't park it. Also, the Weber barbecue is still out here, still ready for a nice cookout for the family and friends. And of course, with his beloved son, bro. To end it off, let's go to the front of the house and let's show everybody that beauty. Look at this! I love the American style and design of this house. Yeah, the porch. American houses always have a porch, slowly. And here we have the front of the house. This was one of the best explorations we did in the United States by far. I really loved it. Yeah, me too. I'm lost in everything that we found in there. I think it's a really special house. Absolutely. Fred, I want to thank you for your life. You were a great man and a great father, and also probably a great husband when your woman was still alive. Thank you all very much for watching this week's video. If you liked it, please like the video, subscribe to the channel if you're new here, and leave me a nice comment down below. There's also a link in the description for Patreon, where you can support me and help me travel around the world and film places like these, because they need to be documented before they fall apart. Thank you very much, everybody. I'll see you next week in another epic exploration. Bye bye! I love you! [Music]
