completing a game entirely 100 often gets you something more hi folks it's falcon and today on game ranks seven surprises you got for 100 completing games part two just a quick note we have already done a part one i would think that that's obvious from the title but just to let you know in the previous video we talked about batman arkham knight metroid other m spyro 3 super mario sunshine drakengard donkey kong country tropical freeze and grand theft auto 5. if you're interested in any of those hit that video up starting off at number 7 super mario galaxy's grand finale galaxy we mentioned a bad surprise for getting 100 completion in a mario game last time the have a relaxing vacation from super mario sunshine but this series actually has some of the best completion rewards out there so we thought we'd highlight one of the better ones the grand finale galaxy from mario galaxy galaxy chocolate guardians of the galaxy in a galaxy far far away i just said galaxy a lot of times that's all now getting the standard completion by collecting 120 power stars gets you a good reward on its own luigi who plays like his classic mario 2 version where he jumps higher and slides a little more so you get the final star number 121 you have to collect all 120 power stars again as luigi do that and you unlock the grand finale galaxy unlike some other mario games this isn't some crazy challenge you just need to wander around and collect 100 purple coins it's basically an excuse to talk to all the returning characters hanging around making this sort of a victory lap where you get to talk to all the characters from the game and see everyone hanging around toad town it's pretty simple to describe but the music combined with the atmosphere just leaves you with this really satisfied good feeling i mean it better though you have to 100 the game twice moving on to number six it's ghost recon wildlands the bad good ending stick with me on this it's something that will surprise you in a bad way if you beat ghost recon wildlands normally with only killing two of the four cartel bosses you get the quote unquote bad ending which actually isn't that bad in the bad ending the leader of the cartel you're hunting el sueno gets immunity and it seems like he's gonna walk away scot-free but instead he gets shot in the back and dies sure sarah bauman gets thrown in jail for shooting a man in the back but the smug gooper of a bad guy you've been hunting the entire game dies and you actually accomplish your mission so this is the part where you hear there's a good ending to get it you have to completely dismantle the cartel meaning killing or capturing all the bosses and every underling every single one and there's a lot of them but the good ending is actually worse than the bad ending things play out mostly the same where else sueno gets immunity but instead of shooting him in the back nothing happens he just gets immunity and you know keeps on keeping on the most ridiculous part of the ending that they describe what will happen in the future by saying he will escape from custody and start a new cartel someplace else so the game was basically pointless you did the extra work for nothing it is not worth it to get the good ending in this game so don't don't bother just pretend the quote-unquote bad ending is the real ending cause seriously screw el sueno at number five star fox 64 on foot battle mode like this is just a really bizarre unlockable there's a multiplayer mode for star fox 64 and it was just one of the most fun possible modes i loved star fox 64 multiplayer i see him up ahead let's rock and roll and it was no surprise you could unlock tanks for it they were in some areas of the actual main game but the reward for getting every medal in the game was multiplayer mode where the characters actually just on foot running around with little bazookas or nintendo super scopes it's such a bizarre addition that there must be more to it like was there going to be some kind of on foot mission type in the main game or something that doesn't seem to be definitive proof they were planning on doing anything like that but i mean they could have just added him for fun still they did return to the idea of on foot missions and star fox assault on gamecube but anyway to actually access this multiplayer mode you just press the c up button on the nintendo 64 controller but only after collecting the metals on every planet to get a medal on every planet by the way you need to kill a very large amount of enemies without dying every planet has a different total but you'll know after you hit it because your score turns red getting 15 metals unlocks hard mode which outside of giving fox some very cool shades makes you weaker and the enemies more numerous all you have to do now is get all the metals again in hard mode honestly on foot mode isn't really that fun your guys are really weak slow and they're hard to control but it is completely unique so it deserves a mention i can't believe i lost to this gum sorry to jet but i'm in a hurry at number four is final fantasy 10 2's titus lives easter egg this is a secret ending you get for 100 completion and it stands out because it's pretty important if you're a fan of final fantasy 10 in its sequel and because it's insanely hard to get as well seriously just trying to get a straight answer on what exactly you have to do to 100 complete this game is hard in of itself some of the requirements are just absurd if you pick the wrong option and a choice that doesn't matter you won't get 100 completion if you miss one of the many time sensitive and easily missable quests you're out you just skip a cut scene that means you don't get 100 while looking up information i found a guy on reddit who had tried three separate times to totally 100 the game on his first playthrough and failed every time and this is while closely following a guide that explains exactly what you're supposed to do i mean it's hard to pull off the secret ending you unlock is interesting though at least in it we see titus and yuna in zanarkan implying that titus is alive again after the events of the first game somehow i mean it's never really explained at this point it probably won't be but hey the main character for final fantasy 10 is alive so there's that is it worth it well if you're super into the story of final fantasy 10 it provides a little closure but it is a massive ordeal and number three is sonic adventure 2 battle unlocking a 3d version of green hill zone like all right this is just cool at least for the time like if you got 180 emblems which is not an easy thing to do you unlock the first level of the original sonic in sonic adventure 2. it is not the prettiest these awkward waterfall texture things in the background are but it's a pretty accurate recreation of a classic stage in a 3d sonic game it's got all the classic enemies the iconic music and it is fun to play like it's not that novel now that we've got games like sonic generations where there's a version of green hill zone that you can play in several different sonic styles but the completion reward is probably one of the better ones i've seen getting all of the 180 emblems is like a massive pain though you have to beat every mission with every character multiple times under different conditions and finish every single chow mini game which means that you have to go all in on the chow raising section of the game which on its own is super bizarre and time consuming so you get all those emblems a new spot on the map appears and that's where you can select green hill zone it is a huge pain but a new level is always awesome as far as completion rewards go in my opinion at number two is diddy kong racing where all right you finish all the races you fly into a big open pig mouth at the center of the island and you beat this ridiculously hard race against whiz pig that's the end game finish right uh nope there is actually still an entire other world left in this game and the only way to get it is to get all the gold trophies and amulets of course i mean this is a rare game right you understand that that's what they're gonna do to you right so yeah you have to totally complete the game just to actually finish the game rare pulled the same stunt with another nintendo 64 game jet force gemini so they they just love pulling the rug out from under you right before the end i guess so what do you need to get into that last area first all the gold trophies which are rewarded by completing a world's trophy race which only becomes available after beating that world's boss and finishing all the silver coin challenges where you have to find eight silver coins in a race then still finishing first it's a lot i mean that's a lot on top of that though you have to get all the amulets which you get for beating a boss in one race finishing the silver coin challenges in his world then racing him again but this time he's twice as fast you beat them again you get one of the four amulets required to enter the final area of course there is also more than that the door to the actual final boss is blocked by another door that can only be opened by finishing all the challenge stages and getting all the gold balloons in the entire game oh yeah and to unlock a challenge stage you need to find a secret key hidden somewhere in each world so good luck at actually finishing this game good luck is all i have to say to you and finally grand theft auto vice city i got a hundred percent completion and all i got was this lousy t-shirt so we've talked about all of the stuff that happens when you get 100 completion in grand theft auto 5. but pretty much every grand theft auto game since 3 has given you something for finishing the game none of it really matches up to what you get from gta 5 but there's still some good stuff in there like unlocking a tank that you find in grove street in san andreas maybe the most amusing one though is this from vice city a t-shirt that reads i completed vice city and all i got was this lousy t-shirt like it's just it's basically rockstar laughing at you and it's an impressively lame reward to say the least i mean thankfully that is not all you get you also get 200 max health 200 max armor refilling ammo for all of your weapons some body guards you can recruit at your estate and double your strength for any vehicle you might want to drive not that you really need any of that stuff now that you've hundred percent of the game but i mean it's a lot better than nothing right you can wreak a lot of havoc with that still you've got the t-shirt proof that you totally finished the game so you can go around and impress all the npcs around by city with your gaming skills because those guys care about stuff beyond whatever path they were designed to walk around on for sure anyway that's all we've got for today what do
