7 Games You Can Complete Way Earlier Than You're Supposed To

completing video games is rewarding sure but it's also time consuming wouldn't it be a lot easier if we could just walk straight up to the final boss and have it out there and then think of all the time we'd save luckily some games include special shortcuts to not only let you get an early ending but lets you feel good about doing so as well unlike say those early endings in far cry games where you're probably only making things worse or the shadow complex one where you abandon your girlfriend and drive off chuckling about it uncool plenty of fish in the sea here then are seven times the game lets you get a good ending nice and early giving you some free time for later [Music] enjoy don't i'm only a shallow copy of you and i know better than to abandon telos one if you leave now you're only delaying the inevitable where do you think the typhoon will go next prey by dishonored developer arcane studios is set on a futuristic space station on which things have gone horribly wrong as if there's any other kind in prey's case things have gone horribly wrong on account of aliens called typhon which are horrible scuttling shadow monsters that can jump on your face and murder you and disguise themselves as ordinary household objects like chairs and coffee cups so that they can do that first thing as with any horror sci-fi set on a space station your first thought is naturally why can't i just get in an escape pod and [ __ ] off to which the answer is that the escape pods are broken or possibly giant mimics you never can tell in this game i'm in the escape pod with emanuela de silva we're stuck in the launch tube however there is one escape pod in the game that you can still use and if you fancy heading off a little early you can do just that about halfway through the game thus you completely bypass the tough choice in the game's real ending over whether to save talos one or destroy it convenient i can't predict what would happen if you scan the apex but all my models point to suffering the escape pod in question belongs to protagonist morgan yu's brother alex and can be accessed by swiping the key card for it from alex's room and then using it to extend a bridge up to the escape pod located on the roof of alex's office at which point you're free to bounce but not before you get a stern telling off from alex how you got himself launch key to that escape pod of all the ways the test could have changed this was the last one i expected you're just quitting yeah i prefer to think of it as winning quickly alex if you feel that strongly hide your key cards better next time like many 1990s side scrolling shooter maps contra hardcore is rad as hell as you'll observe from the opening in which your character after being given a solemn briefing asking them to restore order to a robot infested city runs everyone over in a big truck the aim of the game is for you playing as one of the members of the hardcore of the title to stop a terrorist organization led by one colonel bahamut from using alien technology to produce weapons this process involves mad scientists being eaten by plants running around on a dinosaur and of course racing a robot made of balls down a motorway if you hate awesome nonsensical carnage however you can instead choose to take the game's secret ending which you can access approximately 10 minutes in instead of entering this store which would lead to a boss fight and then the rest of this three-hour game you can instead climb the wall which leads you to this top-hatted weirdo who's just hanging out up here asking people if they want to make money in something called the battle arena if against all sensible instincts you say yes you're thrown into a room with a banging crowd and forced to fight a weaponized funko pop that throws fish at you a skeleton with a shopping trolley and a big spiky ball head thing once these three fights are done the good news is that you are the battle arena champion and the game is over although the interdimensional portal is still open and you fall into it back to prehistoric times which is full of apes who are absolutely losing it [Music] as you'll see in this secret ending several years pass and now your character is king of the apes with a sweet dragonborn helmet and also this ape is in love with him i guess also colonel bahamut hasn't been born yet which technically counts as stopping him look at least it was quick when you start your quest in the legend of zelda breath of the wild the time pressure of the situation is made pretty clear princess zelda has been locked in conflict with calamity ganon for the last hundred years but ganon's power has been growing stronger and soon his dark presence will escape and destroy the entire world the way you're supposed to go about things is to travel across the length and breadth of the land of hyrule meeting allies finding equipment and building your strength as you activate the four divine beasts huge ancient animal-shaped machines that will significantly damage calamity ganon giving you an edge when you finally confront him [Applause] or and hear me out what if instead you just head straight to hyrule castle and kill ganon right at the very start of the game we already know there's time pressure and once you're off the great plateau there is literally nothing stopping you from heading over to gannon's hideout and jamming a sword in his face well i mean there are several things stopping you including the fact that you only have three life hearts the guardians that can obliterate you in a single hit the lack of divine beasts meaning that ganon has twice as much health as the otherwise would have and the fact that since you didn't fight them during the divine beast quests you also have to fight the four other versions of ganon you would have encountered there it is still possible however and if you've got the right combination of skill persistence and sheer bloody mindedness you can go from waking up at the very start of the game to striking the final blow against dark beast ganon in about 30 minutes [Music] hey zelda sorry i'm late i stopped to put on these boxer shorts hope that's cool let's get started if the makers of deadly premonition had got heavily into the saw movies instead of twin peaks 2016's zero time dilemma is the game they would have made instead an adventure game it follows nine people who are kidnapped by a stranger dressed as a plague doctor who forces them into a series of challenges known as the decision game made up of escape room puzzles with deadly consequences the challenges begin at the very start of the game with the stranger asking the group to call a coin flip if they get it right they can go free but if they get it wrong they'll be placed into the deadly game there to fight for their lives against elaborate death traps and difficult moral decisions as with any self-respecting death trap game proprietor worth their salt you'd imagine that mr plague doctor here has rigged this coin toss so it's impossible to win especially as the group has already started to bicker and break down at the very thought of having to pick a color what do you think you are the leader [Music] i will take your decision as everyone's final answer what are you talking about i'll let carlos choose pick red it's blue so what do you say carlos i no carlos don't answer them so actually probably what this is is a clever way of sewing discord in the group and then when it turns out they've called the wrong color everyone will be at each other's throats and dread oh well that was quick in fact the first time you play the game you'll always get this happy result meaning only someone who truly wants to get trapped in a deadly death maze would come back for another go [Music] you're all right plague doctor man i mean apart from the death traps dear katie so much has changed i used to tell you everything and if i can't do it in person i'll tell it to this journal just like i was talking to you in gone home you play kate who's just come back from a gap year overseas she arrives on a stormy night at her family's new home in oregon but instead of a welcome back party she discovers a spooky empty house with nary a family member or celebration cake in sight be a real shame if they were to all jump out and surprise me oh never mind anyway for the rest of the game it falls to you to roam around the house totally cakeless gathering clues about what kind of crisis led everyone to abandon the family home and getting revenge on them by wrecking up the place and dropping stuff everywhere how hard would it have been to just pick up some cupcakes at the supermarket if you prefer however you can actually successfully complete gone home in under a minute by opening the front door making a b-line for the secret panel next to the stairs grabbing the attic key and then heading to the attic sure there's nothing to indicate that the secret door is there in the first place and you're supposed to play the game properly to uncover the clues that lead you there but come on i grew up playing doom i'm checking every wall for secret doors and caco demons anyway as the aim of the game is to find the book in the attic and read its emotionally devastating contents i'd say this counts as not only a viable way to successfully beat the game but also makes gone home the first game i've ever done a speed run of be right back changing the title of this video to gone home tool assisted speedrun the tool is this duck that the front door key was under what am i doing wasting my time here he's got this you should not underestimate this demon after all it was he who took your right arm devil may cry 5 was a spectacular third person action game that hundreds of people worked on for years it was also if you were sufficiently adept about 10 minutes long that's because the game's main antagonist eurozone who is a kind of demonic tree man starts on you in the prologue and if you've got skills you can kill him dead before the game has even properly started solving all of the characters problems and wrapping things up with a neat little bow in less time than it takes to boil an egg sorry dante i'm backing this [ __ ] the way this is supposed to play out is that you get totally wrecked by eurozone at which point a cutscene triggers in which dante rushes in and saves you the roof collapses and everyone talks about how strong eurizon is setting up the game's story and an exciting rematch further down the line if you're not feeling up to any of that and are spectacularly good at devil may cry you can just wreck yours and straight away and enjoy the speediest and most successful game ever in the history of the series so speedy in fact that the developers didn't even have time to finish making the ending sounds like a win to me pub the witness is a first-person puzzle game from braid developer jonathan blow that drops you on a mysterious island and then leaves you to explore and work out how to unlock further areas and maybe rustle up some clues as to what the hell is going on if all that sounds like too much hard work however you can instead totally ignore the first puzzle the game wants you to do on emerging from the opening tunnel and instead line up the sun with this column of light to solve it like one of the game's regular puzzles once you do this a new path will open up which leads you through what looks like a fancy hotel and a cave system before the game fades to black and a secret alternate live-action ending kicks in in this secret ending a man wakes up on a couch in a game development studio unhooks himself from an iv and then wanders around the place touching things eating cookies and making himself coffee [Music] he then goes outside and has a nap which is an ending i'd probably be pretty miffed about if i'd spent ages trying to earn it but seeing as how
