the old you get what you get and you don't get upset type of deal hello everybody silver picker here and welcome to the silver picker squad now today's video is one that I've been super excited about making for a long time I've been toying with the idea of going on eBay and buying some of the many many options for coin grab bags and seeing what I get so I've decided to do that today and bring you guys along for the ride so you guys can see what it's like to buy an ebay coin grab bag without any of the risk I have bought two different $50 grab bags from eBay and we will see what we get now I want to point out that neither of these people that I bought from know who I am they don't know that I'm silver picker I bought it on my personal eBay account there's no connection whatsoever so there's no risk of it being seeded or anything this is truly a real grab bag it's exactly what anybody would order and what they would get on eBay now before we crack into these two different grab bags I want to describe the two different types of grab bags that I have seen on eBay there's only a subtle difference but essentially what it is is that one grab bag is somebody just saying hey look I've got a whole bunch of coins they're randomly assorted over here you can buy them and it's a grab bag that's one type the other is more of a gamble where they say look I've bought a giant estate collection of coins I've broken them up randomly into Lots and for the same price I'm gonna send out a lot randomly to you you may get something with equal or lower value or you may get something far more value aka the example where you know you may end up getting either a few wheat cents or you may end up getting a few gold sovereigns like who knows so what I did is I decided to buy one of each now each of these was $50 right around 50 bucks each the big one is one of the former type where you're basically just buying a random assortment of coins and the small one is one where it's a random grab bag from a big estate lot and we'll see what we get so let's definitely start with the big guy over here now let's take a look first of all at the listing now I like this picture a lot I just love that canvas bag and that just stupid looking thing or it just says a bag now you read here it says we own a coin shop in Connecticut and have been selling these coin grab bags with repeat business so we decided to see how they would sell on eBay bag contains old US and world coins collectibles and lots of good stuff if you like surprises and become one of our first eBay crab bag customers now that is what really got me excited first of all the picture I love so they did a good job winning me over on that but I love the idea that it says you were one of the first eBay grab bag customers so I would assume that they would probably want to make these grab bags really really good so that they get good feedback and I'm hoping that I can capitalize on that so why don't we crack right into it and and see what we get oh and you know what let's track the value on screen as we go and see if I actually make money on this I've did fifty two dollars and 85 cents for this grab bag including shipping and I want to see exactly how much I make so let's get cracking all right here we go okay we've got ourselves our grab bag here full of coins chock full it's exactly what was in the picture well let's take a look what we've got here first it's outside the bag first of all this is Main Street rare coins and antiques alright first thing it says is Canada all right this is a little collection of Canadian coins they are all really really tarnished I'm not sure if at one time these were uncirculated or not but you know they're sort of coming out of the case already looks like the other side yeah they're pretty they're pretty dirty they're not a silver or anything so you know this is you know not not too amazing but much nicer box than actually the coins alright well let's dig into this let's see I don't even know how to approach this I guess we can just sort of grab things out as we go all right we've got an ms-64 cracked case from American Alliance coin grading services of a Bicentennial of course s it looks silver we've got an authenticated brilliant uncirculated Kennedy half-dollar as far as I'm concerned this is worth 50 cents this is a really nothing special it's from 1995 and that's it okay we got a whole bunch of little coins over here all right that's cool we've got a Russian ten kopeks and that is indeed silver that is cool I'm pretty happy with that that's very cool anything that's silver of course I'm gonna be happy with we've got over here a German silver mark now he's got it listed as 15 bucks on here which it's probably come out of his store but there ain't no way that this is worth fifteen bucks but still a very nice coin got a little bundle of coins over here see what we've got looks like they are all Indian Head cents you know they're they're not uh anything too crazy but not too shabby three of them over there all right dig right in let's see what this is sticking out okay this is pretty wild I've never seen any Liberty nickels looking like this before but we've got three Liberty V Nichols all together man this is fun okay this is fun all right we got silver war nickels these are very worn you know they got our stupid certificate of authenticity P and D state quarters these look uncirculated we've got a Hot Springs Arkansas all right nothing special we got the Midwest mega hoard guaranteed authentic three buffalo nickels two Indian Head cents and a Liberty vehicle from the Littleton coin company this looks like it's probably from like the 70s or 80s you know that's all right 1993 uncirculated coin set I've had these before I think I've actually had this exact year in the past as well I believe I sold them or I gave them away in a contest or something you know these are usually worth like five bucks it's not nothing special but not too shabby either hey I've had this as well the Americana series president coin collection I've literally had this exact one as well Oh I've had this series I've not had this exact coin so we've got a cleaned liberty vehicle from 1912 and it talks about the SS Titanic all right what do we have here okay we have a pope coin I've had these in the past as well as this silver I'll have to do a little more research on this I highly suspect this is not silver all right what is this this is cool so we have a 999 fine silver one ounce fake silver panda I actually think that this might be fake entirely because this feels very light it says one ounce AG 999 you see that but this does not even feel like it weighs an ounce so yes I think that this is probably not real I mean if it is fantastic and you know I'll take an ounce of silver I don't care if it's an official panda or not we'll check that out later all right what else do we have here from Littleton coins we've got a 2010 P and D Lincoln cents okay that's worth about two cents okay next up ooh France right that says France doesn't it sure does let's see what we got in this little little envelope of French coins alright forget it I'm gonna just rip that open okay we've got some random looks like wartime era pre-war post-war era French coins I've gotten a million of these in collections not really worth anything but alright see what we got in this case the Roosevelt dime mint mark collection all right we've got a 2005 P we've got a 2004 D and we've got a 1980s this is a nice thirty Center okay it looks like we've got some banknotes in here that's kind of cool little rolled-up something or other we got tons of coins in here there's tons take a look at that there's still a lot of stuff in here I must say so let's see what this is this is kind of piqued my interest okay see try not to destroy it okay some kind of document alright five dollars per year stub for special tax stamp what on earth is this dealer and manufactured tobacco coupon for dealers manufactured tobacco from 1877 well we'll find out we'll do a little more research on that as well either way I can't imagine it's worth very much all right let's see some more of this uh this paper stuff okay we got a first day of issue in 1977 okay in commemoration of the centennial of sound recording okay not too interested in that all right this is cool okay well we've got ourselves a beat to hell $1 Silver Certificate from 1935 1935 g-series and these are cool the Japanese government ten centavos that is really cool the Japanese government ten pesos this looks like something right out of the wartime and it's probably printed by the United States government that is what I'm guessing whether it's worth a lot or not I like this okay it looks like we're back to just coins look at that listen to that alright let's see what else we got all right we got a roll of pennies it looks like a roll of wheat cents I can search through those in a separate video okay we got some heavy sounding stuff let's see what else Oh interesting what on earth is this okay we've got ourselves a little Arrowhead stylized Indian Head cent necklace this is not silver that is for sure kind of junk it's basically just a ruined Indian Head cent in my opinion but anyway not bad former President Nixon here campaign pin that's kind of cool all right let's see some more coins a 1976 Bicentennial token of some kind or metal it's not a very high-quality metal it's not very nice yeah I would put this in the I put this in the junk pile we got ourselves a set of P D & S steel cents got ourselves another P and D 2010 Arkansas Hot Springs I don't really understand the significance of those to the ladies bless them all 1967 king of the carnival oh this is a this is New Orleans yeah this is a Mardi de Mardi Gras doubloon that's kind of cool I know there's not really worth anything but they're kind of cool Wow okay this is awesome I must say that I am me very excited to see this a 1886 ceded Liberty dime it's in beat-up shape but that is absolutely a quality piece that is something that I am excited to actually see in this grab bag that's the best thing we've gotten so far we've gotten those three silver coins that one being the best alright let's see next one up people state 1851 one by OCO all right let's see what we've got next all right we've got ourselves a little rubber bands full of looks like dollar coins we've got ourselves an eat a 1975 s proof variety one not sure if that's really a legit coin or not I don't think this is silver got ourselves in 1975 s proof I'm sorry I guess it's 1976 it says 75 but we can tell here that is we can tell here that it is indeed Bicentennial and we've got a 1975 s proof dime all right next up oh this is kind of cool all right we've got ourselves a flying eagle sent from 1858 that is a solid pick that is a solid solid coin it is in very ratty shape it's hard to see with the glare a little bit but it's not in great shape but it is indeed a flying eagle sent can't complain about that alright next we've got a nickel a 1958 nickel that is full steps I highly doubt it nope it is just a nickel let's get says $4 on there I don't think so okay all right this is kind of cool this is a proof nickel it's 1956 yeah nothing special okay a gold stylized dime from 1980 that is literally just a gold plated dime looks kind of cool but ain't nothing special all right getting close to the bottom of the bag getting close but still got some more stuff maybe we can okay a marble we've got a pin some gave it all post 91 then maybe this is like a veteran's pin or something I don't know okay delving deeper into the bag okay we got ourselves another nickel it says three dollars and fifty cents it's a proof 1987's I mean that's a nice nickel but there ain't no way in hell this is worth three dollars and 50 cents I mean hey maybe maybe I'll look it up on eBay and we'll see okay we've got to 1918 and 1917 pretty beat-up British pennies okay we've got a landmark Casino dollar token and it feels like we're getting to the bottom okay I've got Gemini for mission tests effects of spacewalk on man rocket Titan - okay this is just some kind of Gemini token nothing special and I think we're down to the last bit we've got well we've got a paper clip I think that must have come off of something else and I feel we've got one I feel something in an air-tight so maybe it's something good let's see what do we get all right we've got a Mercury dime all right so did we do it did we hit fifty bucks worth of value I would say the if you are a real hardcore coin collector or you want to get a gift for a coin collector this is definitely definitely a great gift especially for a young numismatist I mean if I got this when I was 10 years old I would have flipped my lid this is absolutely incredible variety really really cool let's say you've got 50 bucks that you can spend on coins you can either buy like two American Silver Eagles and you have that and that's part of your stack and it's a good investment and whatnot but this is way more fun even even though I would say I didn't get like any major grand slam hits I would say that this was a lot of fun I really enjoyed going through this and I'm still not done I'm gonna still go through some of this some of this will probably go into my personal collection maybe I'll give some of it away on the channel but I mean this definitely definitely is a an interesting one so why don't we put this aside and check out what the next one is like take a look at the listing before we crack into it this one is advertised as silver bullion dimes estate sale mixed lot $9.99 gold collection quarters vintage let's see what that's all about all right so if we look down I really like the picture there's just tons and tons of stuff massive estate liquidation blowout sales blah blah blah you get at least one piece of real 24 karat gold you get at least four silver coins at least two Mercury dimes three freshwater pearls don't care about that and at least one coin showcasing the symbolic Lady Liberty design I can bet you that that's most likely going to be a Liberty vehicle and at least 200 plus year old coins one coin with the symbolic native Indian design and at least three wheat pennies so anyway what I decided to do is these are actually listed at eighteen bucks apiece but if you buy three it lowers it to 16 19 apiece so I bought three to make it worth 50 bucks so let's get cracking and compare this with the previous one let's see how we did there we go okay let's see what we got I see something shiny and gold already oh man that just came out have been bad okay that looks like it came out of this first one so let's start right over here okay looks like her our gold is a gold banknote that's already kind of lame okay got a bunch of coins start with this take this out of its rediculous container the gold banknote gold-plated banknote this is lame it is a fake banknote that is gold-plated it says United States number nine nine nine nine nine nine nine this is total nonsense I am not happy with this because this is not what was promised in the ad it was promised in the ad that you would get real 24 karat gold and it says either 999 fine gold coins bars nuggets or big vials filled with flakes or chunks of gold it doesn't say etc it doesn't say or something else this is nonsense and not happy with that alright let's see about the coins okay we got ourselves one too Mercury dimes so that's two of the Mercury dimes that were promised what did I say what did I say I knew that the iconic Liberty coin would be a Liberty the nickel okay beat to hell this must be the iconic American Indian design coin a no-date nickel here are three worthless freshwater pearls okay what's this we've got a 1952 D here is another 1956 a 1950 and a 1946 we got for a for wheat sense the the two by two flips are probably worth as much as these wheat cents are we've got a oh okay not bad that's kind of cool we've got ourselves a barber dime 1910 Barbara dime it is beat to hell but that's not so bad that is not something I was expecting after seeing the the previous stuff and the last coin all right another 1914 Barbara dime okay all right so that's the first grab bag let's take a look at what's in the second one okay we got another one of these nonsense gold dollars I'm not happy about that I really am not happy about that because that's that's like a scam in my opinion that's straight-up scam got ourselves our freshwater pearls okay Mercury dime Mercury dime again another one of these Liberty V Nichols another no-date buffalo nickel let me guess one two three four now this time we only got three this time we only got three wheat cents man I guess I should have been I should have been happy about the previous one because we got four okay there's that and we've got art to barber dimes again okay so I guess they give a barber dime in each of these I mean so far this is not worth $16 okay got our next one so they're all open okay we got ourselves another one of these nonsense pieces of baloney three more freshwater pearls these Lincoln cents again I mean obviously these are all like 1940s and 50s and these are 1958 1942 1952 I mean these are not worth anything Barbara dimes this time in 1912 1899 we got ourselves our to common date Mercury dimes and we've got our Liberty the nickel and our no-date Buffalo well what do we think about this one I will say that this one does not pass the test this one is definitely along the the scammy lines these you know I would have been you know quote-unquote disappointed had I gotten like those little vials of gold flakes because those are not worth anything really but this was not even an option in the grab bag and it was advertised falsely in my opinion I am NOT happy about this I will say I'm going to give negative feedback on this and that's that's the shame these guys they don't realize that their negative feedback is going to affect them and seeing it on YouTube I mean I can't imagine any of you guys buying this this lot now the other guy this guy is not a scammer this guy is gonna get positive feedback because ultimately he really did give 50 bucks worth of value and he made it fun and he made it varied and it's just a really really nice group of coins to get as a grab-bag and it was really fun to go through so that's about it for the video I want to know what you guys think I want to know if you guys think this is worth it I'm curious to know if you guys would buy these grab bags yourself I mean my opinion is clear but I'm curious to hear what you guys think in any case you know I shelled out a bunch of money so I could share this with you guys I would love it if in return you could give this video a big like and share it on social media with your friends
