hey what's going on guys thanks for coming to another video one of the loveliest things about this hobby is not this ugly mug or this shadow like Peter Pan or this random printer it's that collecting currency is ridiculously easy to get into one of the greatest things about it is you can start off with something simple like Lincoln cents let's check out this video which is the 25 most valuable pennies some of which you'll be able to find hiding in your pocket 25 most valuable pennies that you can still find out there so I know what you're thinking some lists they have these holy grails of fines that simply you're not gonna come across in your day-to-day activity however many of these on this list are stuff you can still find in pocket change worth a ton of money so let's start this list off the first coin is at number 25 and as the 1917 s wheat penny so a little more about this coin the 1917 s wheat penny average is only about a dollar per coin however if you find one in good quality you can see a value of almost $700 from this coin so a lot better of a markup from that one cent vase value at number 24 we have a little bit harder of a coin to find however one that you can see out there from time to time and especially sometimes across different coin shops or coin shows so start hitting up those conventions around you that's the 1869 Indian Head Penny now as mentioned some of you more veteran coin collectors will say hey Kyle you don't really come across the Indian Head pennies like that but if you go into different stores I've actually cherry picked which some people are not a fan of cherry pickers coming in their coin store so don't get any preconceived notions about that but I have actually cherry picked and I know that dust and Morgana's cherry picked a few of these 1869 pennies that can be worth up to 750 dollars they also have a lot lower of a run in comparison to wheat cents at 6.4 million of these produced now an average one of these still fetches 75 bucks for a coin that had a 1 cent face value making the Indian Head Penny a wonderful addition to this list at number 23 we have another wheat cent that's the 1916 s wheat penny now as we go through this list we are talking about pennies here and there's only so many type of pennies out there so I have a lot of repetitious types of pennies albeit the years are different now the 1916 s wheat penny can be worth almost $800 it has a production run of twenty two and a half million produced and on average you still can draw about eight dollars for this coin at number 22 we have the 1921 s wheat penny worth a little bit more than the 1916 counterpart this is worth almost eight hundred and fifty dollars now why is that it has a little bit less of production run with 15 million produced it is simply a little bit harder of a coin to come by due to that and on average you can draw about $2 per coin or in upwards of 850 to 900 dollars if it's in good condition number 21 the 1871 Indian Head Penny now these coins are definitely cool Indian heads they're becoming harder and harder to find of course but the 1871 has such a low production run at just under 4 million produced that these coins can fetch almost $1000 from collectors at auction at a minimum you can see about 50 or 60 dollars per coin for an 1871 Indian Head making it a really really good premium over that 1 cent face value our next coin on the list is number 20 and it is the 1920's wheat penny now as we go through this list you'll notice the values are going up that's the wonder of going in descending order down to the most valuable coin in this list the 1920's wheat penny is valued roughly at 75 cents per coin for one that's in regular beat up circulated grade it had a lot higher of a run at almost 50 million of these coins made but the age of the coin and if you can get one in good quality or almost certified mint or ms+ can fetch you in but in between $700 and $1,000 at auction so it's definitely a coin worth keeping an eye out for at number 19 we have the 1918 D wheat penny now the 1918 D wheat penny normally draws about a dollar per coin if you see them just around and about and coin shops it has slightly less of a production run at 47 million of these produced but if you have one in really good quality you can actually fetch close to nine hundred dollars for this coin so it's another one on the list to keep an eye out for the next coin on the list at number 18 is the 1870 Indian Head now these coins once again had a very low run in comparison to other types of pennies and alongside other Indian heads at five million two hundred and seventy-five thousand produced they have no mint mark and they had a face value of one penny on average these coins draw about 40 bucks but if you can come across one and very close to mint state you can fetch almost a thousand dollars for this coin so it's definitely worth keeping an eye out for next coin on our list at number 17 is the 1927 wheat penny now the next few on the list is also going to be wheat pennies so keep an ear out for the detail on the differences valued roughly at 35 cents per coin over its 1 cent face value this one had a very very high production run at 144 million of these made however the date on which amidst a period between wars the 1927 wheat cent is becoming harder and harder to find in less than quality condition one closer to certified ms+ condition can be worth almost 1,100 dollars at auction the next corner of the list is the 1923 wheat penny also valued around $1,100 this is a very good one to keep an eye out for the 1923 is one of those that was produced at a lot lower production run than the aforementioned 1927 and that is at a 74 million produced for this coin now the face value is one cent they're valued roughly at 75 cents to a buck per coin but they can fetch around a thousand to eleven hundred dollars at auction the next coin is another wheat cent it has a 1924 D wheat penny and his number 15 on our list at a little bit higher of a value due to the production run only being two and a half million of these produced the 1924 can fetch anywhere between $35 for a coin in lower grade all the way to $1,200 at auction for something in higher grade or ms+ condition the next wheat penny on this list is the 1915 s wheat penny sitting at our 14th slot a little higher production run at 4.8 million produced the 1915 s is usually going to draw around twenty to thirty dollars per coin but can be worth up to twelve hundred dollars now there's also a lot of errors to be found in many of these coins on the list not to mention the 1915 s wheat penny which I've seen multiple double dies of and many other versions of errors on this coin so something to keep an eye out for at number 13 the next Indianhead on this list is the 1872 Indian Head Penny now this bad boy is worth almost 1,300 to 1,400 dollars in decent condition there was four million of them produced like other Indian heads they do not have a mint mark on average this draws around $80 per coin it can be lower if it's in really beat up condition but generally you can pull at least 70 80 bucks out of this coin and like I said it can be worth almost thirteen to fourteen hundred dollars for this coin the next coin on our list is another wonderful example of a we've sent penny and that's the 1924 s wheat penny now this is worth getting up there as far as overall wheat pennies that you can actually come across pretty readily this had a production run of 11.6 million of them produced they draw about $2 per coin but the nice thing about this one is you can fetch almost $1,500 an option for one that's in decent condition so if you have one of these coins definitely send it off to get graded at least put it in some sort of protective sleeve or in a bifold at minimum to keep this coins value and quality as it is before you send it off another wheat penny on our list is the 1914 s wheats n now as a rough estimate of these coins value you can assume the coins average is valued somewhere around $28 however one that's in very good condition all the way to certified mint state condition would bring almost fifteen hundred and fifty dollars so it's quite a valuable coin compared to its one cent original face value the next coin on our list is another wheat cent penny it is the 1925 s wheat penny now this coin is a little bit more value than the one that was just mentioned it has a run of 26 million roughly that were produced of this coin however it's becoming harder and harder to find a 1925 s mint mark wheat sin that's in decent condition if you find one that's almost mint State or even in just good condition you can fetch anywhere between $1400 and $2,000 for this coin the next coin on this list is getting towards the ones that are a little bit harder to come by and ones that are also reproduced quite a bit that would be at number nine the 1909 s VDB wheat penny now you've probably heard about these quite often one thing about the 1909 as it had an extremely low production run there was only four hundred and eighty four thousand 1909 wheat pennies produced now the 1909 s VDB wheat penny is something that's just sought after by a lot of people the average for one of these coins is almost a thousand dollars I've seen him going upwards of four to five grand but they usually sit around two thousand dollars for one of these coins so in 1909 is one that you always want to keep an eye out for it's a wonderful addition to any collection not to mention it commands a pretty good premium over that one cent face value the next coin on our list is a 1909 s Indian Head Penny now the 1909 was the last year that the Indian Head Penny was minted the 1909 s is only the second Indian Head cent to ever be issued by the San Francisco mint with just 300,000 of them being produced normally hovering around a six hundred dollar value for this coin you can see some and very good quality fetch almost twenty five hundred dollars in auction it is a very valuable coin and is considered a key date our next corner in this list is the 1926 wheat penny now these are worth almost three thousand dollars but many of them are gonna be found to be worth around thirty five to fifty cents ones that are in really good condition are going to be ones that are worth around twenty five hundred to three thousand dollars these coins have a 157 million count production run so there's many of them out there albeit very hard to come across some that are in really really good condition but keep an eye out for them as you could command twenty five hundred to three thousand dollars for a 1926 coin 1877 Indian Head Penny now the 1877 Indian Head Penny is another one of those coins that's very well sought-after you can also find some rarities and errors on these coins it also had a lower production run at eight hundred and fifty two thousand produced now on average you can command almost five hundred dollars for one of these coins even in lower grade but I have seen them go in upwards of thirty five hundred dollars for these coins a little bit more info on this coin the 1877 Indian Head Penny is a major major key date issuance of the Indian Head it only has eight hundred and fifty thousand of them that were minted and you can compare that to 7.9 million the previous and 5.9 million for the following coin so this is why that value really jumps up for the 1877 Indian Head Penny at number five and now we're getting down there to the most valuable penny that you can find in your pocket change at number five the 1922 D wheat sent these coins an option can command almost five thousand dollars now what is it about this coin the main info on this coin is a no D or week D mint mark is known to have been minted but if you are a buyer or an owner you may want to get it verified by a third party grader just to make sure it is what you think it is the no decoy --nz have been have been seen to sell for almost thirty thousand dollars a piece but you'd hate to waste that kind of money on a fake coin or waste your time on trying to sell one of these that is not what you think it is on average a 1922 wheat cent penny will command about twenty twenty one dollars for each coin if it's an okay condition but i've seen them go for an upwards of five thousand dollars in auction at number four the 1914 d wheat penny now these are worth a little bit more than its counterpart and previously mentioned 1922 penny the 1914 de penny is considered a key date penny and is the most valuable of the non air pennies now it only had a production run of 1.1 million the average one of these commands around 250 bucks for this coin and you can see it going upwards of $5,500 and I've even seen him go higher than that closer to eight to ten grand for a 1914 D wheat penny these are just wonderful coins their key dates and there's something that to definitely keep an eye out for when searching through your coin rolls or pocket change at number three the 1873 Indian Head Penny now this is gonna mark the last Indian head on this list it is definitely the most valuable and one of the hardest to come by there's no mint mark as other Indian heads would have would rather not have the 1873 Indian Head Penny commands roughly about 20 bucks per coin if it's beat up however you can find these to go an auction for roughly nine to ten thousand dollars in high-grade the US Mint over doubled their mintages from the prior year and in doing so got sloppy their misfortune is our luck however as the Year 1873 is one of the ultimate key dates for the Indian Head cent series on average the coin is worth about twenty twenty-one dollars and four hundred fifty for both the open and closed three versions of the coin the major winner however is the doubled Liberty 1873 Indian Head cent it is worth between 250 and $10,000 now this depends on condition and where you sell it at however that's one crazy valuable Indian Head cent to keep an eye out for at number two the 1943 copper wheat penny now anybody that's collected or search through pennies knows that these are very very difficult to come by also a warning to you collectors and searchers out there who are buying offline or from random sites and stuff the 1943 copper penny is one of the most faked coins of all only a few 1943 copper pennies were ever minted all of which have been released by air into the coin supply during that year the pennies minted were supposed to be made by steel for the war effort coin analysts suggest that copper plates from the 42 series may have been tested or left mixed amongst the other steel plates and this created the air it doesn't really matter but the 1943 copper penny now sells for just under $100,000 $100,000 I think the last one that sold was roughly sixty something thousand dollars at auction but I've seen him go for an upwards of quarter of a million once again though these are one of the most faked faked coins ever a 1948 copper penny has been seed to be filed down on the left side of the 8th which makes it look like a three instead and has been sold as the real deal so just be very careful when searching for these coins are buying them from another seller finally at number one we have the most valuable penny you can come across in pocket change and that is the 1944 steel wheat penny now we have no idea how many were produced there's only been a handful of them that have come up for the 1944 steel wheat penny valued at an average of seventy-five thousand dollars for this coin and in upwards of almost half a million dollars it is the most valuable coin as far as pennies that you can come across there were just a few of the 1944 steel pennies ever minted and all would have been released by air coin experts suggest that the steel plates may have been tested and mixed amongst other things that's what they always say but no matter what the cause is these coins are extremely valuable at average they're a hundred thousand dollars for one of these coins just make sure that the coin you have and maybe are buying is not as easy coated copper penny ripoff they're another coin that's very very commonly and one that you want to definitely get tested and approved and verified if you think you have or you're gonna go buy one if you're gonna go buy one you got some serious cheddar to spend on coins and you need to give us a tip or two but keep an eye out for a 1944 steel wheat cent you could get totally lucky and pull one out a change from Starbucks or whatever share it with us because you got to show the love right hopefully you've enjoyed the list of these 25 most valuable pennies that can still be found out on the
