Should You Buy a $75 eBay Coin Grab Bag? See What I Got!

so much here I don't even know where to start hello everybody silver picker here and welcome to the silver picker squad now today's video is extra special because we are upping the ante that's right in a previous video I bought two different coin grab bags off of ebay for 50 bucks apiece and I showed you what I got inside of them so today what we're doing is we are going up to $75 grab bags that's right I bought to $75 grab bags from the same seller and we're gonna open them up on camera today and see what we got now for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about I highly highly recommend you watch a previous video I made over here in which I bought two different $50 coin grab bags now just as a quick primer what is a grab bag we're talking about on eBay there are a lot of sellers for all different hobbies whether you're into collectible cards or anything else where people will put together a lot of different odds and ends that relate to that hobby in this case of course coins and sell them to you without telling you what the exact content is and the fun thing about that is that it's like a treasure hunt so this ebay seller antique underscore trader 84 who has 99.3% positive feedback with over 21,000 feedback ratings so I'm hoping that this guy's legit so over here it's a 100 coin lot from old estate horrid gold 999 silver bullion proof Roman so basically what he's saying is that he bought this huge collection you can see the pictures over here he bought this huge huge collection and he's parting it out and putting random bags together some of them will have amazing stuff worth way more than 75 bucks and some should presumably have about $75 maybe a little bit less so what we're hoping for right here is that we're gonna get at least $75 in coins in each of these grab bag so we want to make 150 bucks worth of coins in order for this to at least be a worth it deal and if we do kudos to the seller if we don't we'll see how bad it is so the first thing that I liked about this obviously was the pictures but the really the first thing that made me decide to actually buy this is he says in the first paragraph right out it says want to return our exchange an item no problem just let us know and we'll right away that is not the mark of a scammer a scammer will say you get what you get and you don't get upset and then you've got no recourse so what are you actually getting here what's he promising so his guarantee to us is that you get over a hundred items in each lot two of them gold we're gonna get four authentic ancient Roman coins of at least 1700 years old that's really cool one of which will be slabbed 1600 medieval coin from Europe one early u.s. coin from the late seventeen to mid 1800s at least a hundred and forty years old two silver items a nine a nine pure silver bar an old silver coin at least 70 years old now I will guess that the the trick here is that the 999 pure silver bar is probably gonna be less than an ounce but hey let's see how it goes one piece of old obsolete old US currency at least fifty years old probably gonna be a silver certificate one old-world coin from the eighteen hundreds or earlier but one Indian Head Penny one Liberty v nickel one buffalo nickel with a full date a quarter full quarter pound of rolled coins that's kind of funny a full quarter pound it's hey advertising five King George Canadian copper pennies a full roll of lincoln wheat cents always liked those and ten pieces of authentic uncirculated world currency now it'll also include four bonus items who knows what that'll be and this is what I really like which is what encouraged me to actually buy two of them purchase two or more Lots and receive a bonus California gold token that is really cool now I'm sure it's gonna be really small but still that is a really really cool bonus gift so you know I think that we've talked enough we've gotten ready why don't we crack into this thing and see what we actually got all right here we go looks like we have two prepackaged grab bags see which one goes first anything else nothing else all right well let's start with the first one now the first thing I noticed is that the California Gold token is not separate here I don't see it it's not like taped on to anything I am a little nervous that that was forgotten because these should ostensibly be prepackaged but we shall see oh man there is oh boy oh boy Wow all right look at this okay one of them was a packing slip this is the checklist all right let's start with this all right first thing is a United States Proof Set from 1972 you know these are pretty common see how pretty nice shape not silver or anything but 1972 a lot of people like these from their birth years it's kind of cool they're usually worth about five bucks so that's not too bad all right let's open this thing up I love this little thing these are these mini keychain Leatherman I'm actually gonna put a link in the description below for this cuz I really like this and last time people were asking me about the buck knife that I was using to open packages nah it's nothing this is just packing material all right well that feels a little bit dumb this also just packing material yep also just packing material well that's kind of funny all right well let's start with this bag over here looks like we've got two bags and a little packet of banknotes all right International numismatic Bureau okay so we know that this is a nonsense kind of BS holder and it's claims it's a 1967 P Lincoln Cent bu this is trash this is worth about a cent all right got all these different coins over here man I don't even know where to start okay we have our Indian Head buffalo nickel 1937 does have a nice strong date nice okay over here 1930 British penny in nice shape oh this is cool this is cool this is a 1864 2 cent piece that is awesome I actually already have a couple of these but this is quality this is really cool I love us obsolete currency absolutely love it alright next up we've got ourselves our 1904 Liberty V nickel nothing special I do kind of like how all these are in their individual bags it's kind of a nice touch alright looks like a barber dime 1912 barber dime oh yeah over here yes this is an 1894 Austrian ten Heller coin it is nickel nice coin not worth much 1905 Indian Head cent little bit of dust on there next up 19:43 D steel scent nothing too special nice is cool this looks old alright well I am NOT an expert on ancient coins in fact I don't even know if I own any I have owned them in the past but nothing too crazy I'm gonna need you guys who are ancient coin experts out there to give me a little more context on what these are I'm gonna try and do a little research if I do I'll put in some notes in the video but this is pretty tough to see alright we got a couple more ancients now I was under the impression that one of these ancients would be in a would be graded but we'll see I mean I have a feeling that these are really not worth much because they're in such ratty shape would love to know any more info on when these coins are from they're super cool though I mean I would love to get into ancient coins I really would love to learn a little bit more about them get into ancient coins super super cool and what did I say what did I say we got ourselves a bar of gold that is good ol US of A 1 gram nein nein nein fine silver this is definitely my smallest silver bar that I can tell you ridiculous alright that was the first bag we've got another whole bag of stuff for this lot Plus this envelope start with this graded coin so this is the graded ancient coin or Stan International numismatic Bureau so it's a total BS company Constantine the Great era Roman period 330 ad I gotta say as much as you know I'm sure this is not worth that much the history is so cool I can't imagine that NGC or PCGS would ever have a coin that sort of shakes around in the holder like this still pretty cool alright what else we have in this bag of tricks alright here's our five Canadian cents I mean I like these but I mean these are like nothing too special really nothing special from the 1940s all of them next up we've got our quote unquote full quarter pound of foreign coins I mean this is gonna be like modern junk I am sure of that let's take a look just sort of go through it very quickly and see if there's anything of value I mean this stuff is real this is just like bulk stuff this is just bulk and our our trusty gold vial this we already knew we were getting I mean what are the odds of us actually getting you know a really nice piece of gold I will say this is way more filled than I think I've seen a lot I mean this is not heavy hey maybe we'll do a video I'm like we will compress this and see how much actual gold is in this but and then last but not least for the coins we have our roll of wheat sets see what the ender is can't tell as is expected alright and last but not least let's take a look at these banknotes we've got Venezuela this is getting worth less and less every second basically we've got one Jiao from China I have a bunch of these this is worth like a couple pennies they are in all excellent shape I will say that these are not you know junked up bills as far as like for a display piece these are really really nice this looks like it's from Russia Indonesia 1964 that's pretty cool more Indonesia more Venezuela this looks like Russia again these are nice one also looks like Russia or a Russian state these almost look like coupons of some kind or what is that where are these from maybe this is Georgia it looks like there's Arabic on here huh this might be from one of the stands these are probably from the stands over here ma'am you got to figure out where these are from and we've got $1 Silver Certificate for 1935 Hey wow this is kind of cool one grain of 24 karat gold that certificate of authenticity American certified bullion one grain of 99999 fine gold Wow I mean this is totally a novelty item but this is pretty cool this is actually pretty cool all right so I was very excited about a lot of these individual pieces because there's there's a lot of novelty here to be honest I mean this is kind of cool there's a lot of novelty and having a one grain a little piece of gold sitting in a in a car that you can keep in your wallet it's kind of cool you know there's the ancient coins which I'm not so familiar with but I do find very historically cool and of course the two cent piece is a really nice coin but ultimately as you can see we didn't really come close to hitting $75 so far this is you know not very good I mean each of these items is like the minimal thing to meet the standards of the grab bag like you know it includes a $9.99 fine silver bar so we have of course the one gram silver bar you know we have you know the graded ancient coin yeah of course the graded ancient coin is from international numismatic bureau and it shakes around I mean this is like you know literally worth only a couple of bucks so I will say as much as I think this is cool it just doesn't meet the value so let's go and open up the second one right over here let's open up the second one I'm gonna open it up in the same area cuz it's really just you know the same grab bags and let's see what we got here and see if we did any better and this is our grab bag so I will go through it alright let's start with this little package alright we have a 2005 d jefferson 5 cent bu hawaiian Wow a nickel you know this is worth more probably cracked out of the case than in it got ourselves another 1908 Indian Head cent okay alright we got some more ancients you know what I'm gonna do I'm gonna put these ancient coins close-ups on my Instagram and I would love it if you guys would help me identify them of course if you identify them in the comments below I would really appreciate that too this one's pretty cool you can see the figure of like a person okay what do we have here okay this is another Austrian coin 1879 I guess this is one Heller kind of cool okay alright this one we've got pretty nice condition 1943 Mercury dime so common date Mercury dime what I do like as much as I'm still not super happy with this I do like that there's actually some variety here okay we got another nickel 1935 looks like another two cent piece 1869 kind of cool that's a french coin from 1938 five son team it is not worth anything as far as I know this one's definitely in better shape than the previous ones can't quite make it out one gram of silver this one has a hippopotamus on it okay one gram fine silver I mean they're kind of cool as novelties I just don't want to pay I just don't want to overpay for them I'm happy to have them I just don't want to overpay for them 1903 Liberty V nickel Hey okay our California gold token okay I'm pretty happy about this this is pretty cool 1881 California gold token that is pretty cool all right so that's it for that first bag got ourselves another Proof Set this one's 1982 yep there it is in all its glory alright now we've got this next bag of coins see what we got in here can already see that we've got our vial of gold alright another Constantine the Great Roman Empire era 330 BC another five of these pennies he's Canadian cents another little vial of gold that's a dollar okay another cool roll of wheat cents and we got ourselves another little bag of mixed world coins see if we get anything interesting at least this is [Music] all right nothing too special there and now we've got our banknotes all right we got ourselves another one of these one grain of gold the novelty has worn off on this I will say you know knowing how we have not really reached our goals 19:57 be Silver Certificate and it looks like about the same banknotes see this second batch did not fare any better than the first and I started doing a little bit of research since I filmed that little last bit and it looks like my beloved 1881 California gold token is actually at best a restrike and at worst a total counterfeit this is very very disappointing you know I started looking at this more closely and I'm like this doesn't quite look real and the reason why I was saying that is because the edges are like stamped out this doesn't look like it was made in like a typical coin press it doesn't really look like it's a very high quality coin and these little barbs on the edge you can see there's little barbs on the edge if this was really from 1881 these would have been worn down by now even if this was not even if this was hoarded it still would have not such sharp edges so I believe this is actually a counterfeit it may be real gold I have to test it but it's more likely that I'm going to return all this because again this is this is false advertising it says that it's a it says that it comes with a California gold token this does not come with a California Gold token this comes with a replica of a California Gold token so I'm going to be returning this and this is not going to get good feedback so anyway that about does it for this video what did you
