do you see that oh my god hello everybody silverpicker here and today's video is one that i am both extremely excited for and also extremely relieved by now what on earth am i talking about well the excitement uh and relief both stem from this massive massive package yes this guy is another chunky monkey of a package and for those of you who are new to the channel let me explain so i buy coin collections from all over the world i buy them locally at garage sales people refer them to me and oftentimes people mail me their coin collections i go through them i pay them out based on the value then i sort through for the ones that i want i keep those for my own collection and then sell the rest for a profit and i do that all the time i love it it is a passion of mine and i share it with you guys on my channel now this particular package is from a viewer just like you who has sold coins to me in the past about two years ago he sold me some gold coins you can check out the video right over here in this card and a few months ago he also sold me about three thousand dollars worth of coins precious metals and even really really cool banknotes and i did a series which you can also check out over here you got a lot of watching to do because these are amazing videos well this guy likes dealing with me he likes the fair prices i pay him he likes the ease of working with me and i like working with him too it's very great when he gets to send me the coins he trusts me i go through them i pay him a fair price typically i pay him between 70 and 80 of the market value and for those of you watching at home no not the face value i get a million comments every time of people accusing me of paying him for example 75 cents for a one dollar bill no if the one dollar bill is worth ten dollars i'd pay him seven dollars and fifty cents so totally reasonable in any case he sent me this package and of course i'm super excited because he said it's got tons and tons of silver coins and all sorts of cool stuff but why am i relieved well he sent this package to me in november of 2020. it's right now midway through march of 2021. he did send it internationally i have both a domestic and international address he sent it to my international address and it took several months to make its way through customs and yeah i was definitely anxious about it every day checking calling doing all sorts of stuff and to be honest for the first time even though i've received hundreds of packages to this address without any problems this one really scared me i thought there was a chance that i was not going to be able to get this and what on earth do i tell to the person who sent it right i can't just give him nothing it would have been a disaster i don't know exactly what i would have done but i'm curious just because i like talking about business ethics what do you think what would you say if the package had not arrived what would be a fair thing for me to do i don't think paying him nothing would be fair because he trusts me i trust him we have a relationship but i also don't think just paying him the full value would have been fair thank god we don't have to deal with that but i'm curious to hear your thoughts so put them down in the comments below in any case enough with the jibber jabber there's some awesome coins in here let's crack it open and see what he sent me well now i have a selection of different options for how to open my box so hmm check that out that is an interesting package first first view that is an interesting interesting package i see a towel i see a box full of coins i see some cardboard all right let's get rid of the cardboard let's dissect this bit by bit and see we got okay i always check this stuff even if it is i'll use a different knife for this one even if it looks like it's just packing materials you always have to open it up and make sure you do not want to accidentally throw something out because you think it is just packing materials all right you always got to check everything okay so we've got what looks like a box full of two by twos we've got oh man this is crazy holy moly we've got what looks like some penny rolls all right this is probably going to be multiple videos oh my gosh holy cow holy cow holy cow have you ever seen anything like that whoa whoa do you see that oh my god okay oh my god this feels like this is like drugs this doesn't this look like a shipment of drugs i mean not that i would know but oh my god look at this look at this just oodles and look at this oh my god this is like a pirate's treasure chest this is like a treasure chest oh my god i don't know what that is but uh just make sure there's nothing in there no that looks like it used to hold something okay more of these hey and i got a dish towel what do i pay for the dish towel okay we got more uh bleach box good job using uh you know recycled materials and this which feels kind of like it feels like a license plate i know you can't see but it feels like a license plate um we'll open that last i'll those change all those change is it all those change or all those change anyway enough with my dumb jokes okay so let's see what we've got we've got the box of two by twos we've got this like license plate thing we've got these penny rolls we've got a ridiculous amount of silver um oh my god i don't even i honestly don't even know where to start okay i think what we're gonna do is we're gonna have to break this into two oh this is quarters too dime this is all sorts of stuff okay okay see you can tell by the way i've done a million of these videos i bought a million collections uh literally you can fact check that i believe it was exactly one million or maybe it was a billion yep it was a billion collections i've bought um so i am an expert and even so i do not know where to start uh i think what i'm gonna do is i am going to open up these and i am going to just organize them we'll get ourselves organized and then we'll move on to this stuff this stuff and then finally this stuff all right let's do it wow look at that that is frosty beautiful morgan this is really wild you know i was doing this in a in fast forward because you know there's so much stuff but like you know what let's just take our time a little bit like you see what i'm going through there's like a bunch oh my god look at that that is like a really really nice peace dollar these are gor holy cow do you see the mint luster on that this is like look at that wow now this video is going to be great for like all the new collectors out there because you'll get to see really like basically every type of uh of major uh american coin like all the important silver coins that you want to look out for when you're out you know picking and buying collections trying to do what i do um you know by the way like i make these videos because i want people to be out there i'd rather people be out there learning like i don't see you guys as competition i see you guys as as like a great opportunity to get people involved in an amazing hobby that can be both you know enriching you know intellectually like i love this it's fun i love learning about history i love the tangible element of the history uh but also it is obviously like financially uh worthwhile too like this is profitable you know i make it my business to make sure not to rip off my customers both ethically and also because it's a good way of getting repeat business um so be fair with your customers but it's still okay to make a profit i try and make about you know i'd say about a 25 profit margin uh on these collections and uh basically the reason for that is i take the risk i take the risk in price fluctuations of the silver you know i pay them out all outright and also of course they get the benefit of getting all the money in one lump sum they don't have to do anything other than ship me the coins so from their perspective you know they're getting 75 80 of the value that they could get they don't have to deal with selling individually on ebay shipping out a million packages dealing with returns uh dealing with angry customers you know i do all of that for them and i make a profit for my efforts all right so we're done with that so i already know because i get comments on all these videos there's almost i'd say 99 of you understand how business works but there's always a few people that like call me out on making these videos and being like you're ripping people off blah blah blah blah blah blah like the reality is is i'm giving a much better deal than like any pawn shop would but yeah i really i try and you know run my business as fairly as as humanly possible um and routinely by the way if i find something that uh ended up being worth more money after i've paid the the individual oh i forgot about these i will go back and pay them more that happened in the last collection i bought from this guy i didn't realize that one of the banknotes was actually a ladder note meaning the serial number was one two three four five six seven so i paid him out just for a regular one dollar canadian bill however i ended up selling that bill for eight hundred dollars because of that and uh i paid him quite a bit more uh and he was very very pleased so you know be fair but there is nothing wrong with making a profit for the work that you do oh these are nice look at that look at that original piece whatever that means original piece this is probably sold at like a uh at a flea market or something uh definitely not collector lingo onward march here we go here we go i always talk about how you should definitely i warn new collectors and remind veteran collectors alike you know not to store their coins in pvc holders but i also should mention that like a lot of people ship coins in pvc holders because they're cheap and you have them lying around there's nothing wrong with that i do it sometimes but i always warn my customers to make sure that when they receive them they know to take them out so something like this i definitely would not recommend you store your coins in saran wrap but shipping them no problem no problem at all all right holy cow look at this now so i guess he did it like sort of by size so we had like the the dollar coins and half dollar coins and now we've got the quarters and uh and some of the dimes and i think the next package is gonna have mostly dimes oh we got a barber barber quarter right there for those of you who are wondering barber is named after charles barber who was the designer of that liberty design on that coin okay okey doke look at this look at this sack of treasure this is like this is really like a pirate treasure that's what it always feels like to me there's a bunch of canadian stuff as many of you know i've mentioned that i am trying to do a canadian typeset and i don't have an album yet so i haven't done a video on it it is so hard finding albums like that i'm looking for the dansko canadian album if anybody has it i would happily buy it from you they are expensive i am aware i'm just looking for it i am willing to pay um i don't think this is silver but still very cool oh man we've got a bunch of foreign coins this is a belgian frank uh i think it's a world war ii era let's see 1951 post-war era not really worth anything i don't think that's silver um but we will check we've got some silver canadian dimes man this is all good stuff ah yes i mentioned before when i showed you this uh silver dollar that there was a silver commemorative series from 1967 from canada with a bunch of different animals i actually don't have all of them so maybe we'll find the rest in this this one i think is a is a bobcat uh somebody correct me one of my trusty canadian uh subscribers please uh let us know uh if this is a bobcat or what this is it is silver though that i do know oh look at this a 1950 i don't that's crazy i've actually never seen this nickel before i have never seen this nickel it's a commemorative nickel from canada 1951 it says 1751 in 1951. it's got looks like a factory i don't know what it's commemorating we've got george vi over here so uh definitely could you you know you guys uh sometimes are much more expert with me on the details so please please feel free to drop some of the comments or drop some of the explanations in the comments below got a silver dime another one of these belgian coins i will have to look maybe those are silver another walking liberty half dollar hello what is this six flags over georgia atlanta georgia huh okay good for one dollar in merchandise at six flags over georgia hey i wonder if this thing is still valid uh first of all i don't even know if like amusement parks are back open yet after covid but uh i do have a business in atlanta a lot of people don't know that but i actually have a car rental company in atlanta georgia so next time i'm down there uh maybe i'll try and go there and see if i can use this that would be funny don't think that's silver all right couple more uh franklin halves those of course are silver got another canadian dime i guess these belgian coins must be silver or at least the sender thinks there i'm gonna have to double check on that all right let's go a little faster for any of the stuff that's not unusual anything that's not unusual i'm going to uh skip over another one of those commemorative canadian nickels oh this is cool i thought this was going to be just a regular british half crown uh this is a two and a half shillings coin from south africa george vi and it is from 1941 so that is indeed 50 silver i'm gonna assume that this is from like the united arab emirates or saudi arabia it looks like an oil rig 1962 to 1972. five something i'll put the explanation somewhere in the video oh hello we've got ourselves a canadian half dollar i really like these these are really cool i have one of these already for my typeset so this will be for sale oh barber half sometimes a good sorting look at this this is cool the milton what does it say milton pells milton prells aladdin hotel las vegas nevada five dollar gaming token for use by player only 1967. this might actually be silver i'm gonna have to double check uh i'll do some research on this but it does have that silver look definitely has that silver sheen and because it does have this greenish uh you know sort of residue on the back it makes me think maybe it was housed in pvc and is silver that was damaged by pvc over the years that is really cool if this is silver oh it says sterling you see that right there it says sterling this is 92.5 silver uh so this is probably like about close to two ounces of silver that is sweet man i i love buying these collections and i know a lot of you like watching these because it's fun to sort of you know sort of you know live through my through my shoes right live vicariously through me on this and i hope that it's inspiring to you guys to get out there and uh get into this business or get into the hobby right getting into the hobby of coin collecting is so rewarding and the business side of it just sort of lets you subsidize your own collecting oh look at these two oh wow that is so cool okay first i'll show you this this is a 1935 canadian nickel very cool blah blah blah we got king george v yada yada yada but this whoa this is a special coin i've never even seen one of these this is a edward vii 1904 canadian 20 cent piece a newfoundland 20 cent piece from 1904 king edward vii so this is a canadian coin but it's really a canadian territory coin um i guess and i'm not sure maybe newfoundland was not yet part of like the canadian federation in 1904 uh again any of you canada experts please let me know but 20 cents that's super interesting super super interesting uh so far this is my favorite one so far this is my favorite one uh while we're at it anybody wants to put in the comments below which of these is your favorite coin so far this is mine really beat up steel scent world war ii era steel send all right last bits of coins from that last uh rapper okay 1945 canadian nickel we got some really cool canadian nickels here more canadian dimes another canadian quarter another american dime another mercury dime and another canadian dime holy cow holy cow look at look at this splendor look at this incredible stuff okay i know the camera isn't focusing on everything but we've got a tremendous amount of silver this is several thousand dollars worth of silver right here i think um maybe that's a little bit of an over shot maybe we'll see i will give you a final readout of the silver value of all of this stuff after i finish going through it all um but man this is nuts this is nuts look at that okay so you know what i can already tell because this is uh already a really long video that we are going to open this guy up we are going to check out everything that we've done so far but we are going to leave this guy and these guys and that uh where is that and this guy uh for another video maybe it'll take another two or three videos i don't even know this is just such a ridiculous amount of stuff um i don't think you guys want to see like hour-long videos right frankly i don't really want to make hour-long videos but if you do actually prefer like super long videos let me know because from what i can tell you know 20 22 minutes is like the limit for most people um this one will probably be longer all right let's uh oh my gosh this is just incredible really insane this is insane hold on let me let me show you this again look at that all right these look a lot more ordinary these look like kind of just mostly like uh washington quarters yeah these are all washington quarters there are very few washington quarters uh that are worth more than their silver value uh for the most part these are just sort of worth their weight not much of a premium maybe a little premium i should say there are definitely some key date mercury dimes so we'll be going through those for sure and uh after i finish sorting these i will definitely let you know if i found anything all right i might just have to put these in piles like this because it's it's too hard to even keep them keep track anymore all right got a standing liberty quarter it's an slq as they say and this one's a slick slick ooh little dime yeah so these are even if they're in like great shape unless you have like literally like an ms-70 or something right for the most part these washington quarters are really just going to be worth their weight same thing for roosevelt dimes roosevelt dimes from 1964 and earlier are all 90 silver just like the rest of the uh dimes quarters half dollars and dollar coins uh from that same era 1964 and earlier um but there are no key dates for real from the roosevelts um so the only way to get more than like their uh silver value is to have something that is of like insane insanely good condition and we're not gonna find any of those um you know this these ones are pretty nice but nothing that's going to be like really gradable that would make sense but that's fine silver silver right i always say silver silver here's a really important thing to notice when you're buying and by the way it almost always happens with dimes for me when i'm buying large silver collections you have to double check because this is a 1965 and let's see if you can if the camera will focus but uh you can see that this is actually a clad dime not silver so this one will i will be paying him just one dime for so i'll basically just be uh giving him face value as a courtesy to basically bring it back to the bank for him mostly dimes here and uh let's just finish these up and when then i'll check for key dates wow that is absolutely nuts you can see i just sort of piled these up because there was just too many um which is a good thing definitely a good problem to have so what i'm gonna do now is i am going to go through these with a fine-tooth comb see if there are any key dates anything particularly special i'll reorganize it a little bit and then i'll get back to you with the final tally let you know how many of each thing there is what the total value is and all that fun stuff all right let's go ladies and gentlemen may i present to you the wonderful the magnificent organized collection wow in all seriousness this is phenomenal and now that i've got it all organized and i had some time to go through each and every coin i am just blown away even more than i was when i was opening it now i am going to tell you the value of this whole collection you can follow along in the ticker right over here but what would be fun is if before you watch now no cheating put your guess in the comments below of what you think this portion of the collection is worth when i say this portion of course i mean excluding the stuff we haven't looked at like what's in this and in this ridiculous ridiculous giant uh bushel of coins etc so what you see here on camera i want you guys to guess what you think it's gonna be worth put it in the comments below let's see who gets closest all right so let's crack right into it and see what we've got so first off in terms of the peace dollars we have 33 of them and man they are in absolutely spectacular condition for the most part at least most of them are amazing right these have about twenty dollars in silver value right now but because these are such a popular coin they're going for like 30 bucks a piece so i am going to be paying him 75 of that 30 value which is absolutely phenomenal so we have a total of 990 worth of peace dollars just this just these this little stack over here is worth 990 dollars and i'm paying him 743 for that now in terms of the morgan dollars we've got two different types we've got the ones that are in spectacular shape like this one this is a 1921 which is like the least the least desirable year but that's fine most of them are 1921 but they are in fabulous condition look at that you can see the mint luster this is really a phenomenal coin and these are 32 bucks a piece uh in value and then we've got the culls now for those of you who don't know what a cull is you see these on listed on ebay all the time it's basically very very poor condition coins where the entire rim has been worn down and there's a lot of wear around the edge and they're just not in particularly good condition unless they are a very very rare date or like carson city or something they're really only going to be worth a tiny bit over silver value if at all i value these at 22 bucks a piece and you know that's still like pretty good still two bucks still uh 10 over spot moving on to the half dollar section over here we have three different types or i should say four or five different six different types of half dollars holy moly okay let's start from the oldest and come up to the newest so the oldest one we have here is actually a commemorative check that out this is the colombian exposition commemorative half dollar first commemorative half dollar ever minted by the united states it was minted in 1892 and 1893 this is the 1893 version really beautiful and you know they're not that expensive so a lot of people start their commemorative collection with this coin then we have the barber halves we've only got two of them and they are still pretty nice these ones are in you know basically the condition you expect to find uh barber halves they don't really stay very good over time in terms of condition i think that has to do with the design and the age um but they usually have their rims worn down and it's pretty tough to find them in a sort of collection like this where it's not like a really really strong numismatic collection it's really hard to find them in great shape moving on to the walking liberty halves we have a bunch of really nice walking liberty halves we've got 12 of these and these are worth 12 bucks a piece in the uh this beautiful great condition this is a 1946 so it's not a particularly valuable year but it is a gorgeous coin it's one of my favorite designs i'm not alone in that obviously uh they borrowed the design for the american silver eagle which is our like iconic one ounce bullion coin so there's a reason they chose this design really really beautiful you can see you know the the cull version which i have a few of as well and those are nine dollars a piece uh but still i mean nine bucks for a coin that looks like that you know that's a pretty good pretty good price moving on uh up the years we have the franklin halves this is a benjamin franklin half and there aren't really any key dates in this series especially when you're talking about circulated coins but we did find one better date which is this guy over here this is the 1949 it's in pretty bad shape so it's not really worth anything more than the rest but it's still cool to find a better date not bad at all and these guys we've got 14 of them and they are 11 bucks a piece we also have five 90 kennedy halves and one 40 kennedy half and that's it for american halves we will get to the canadian stuff in a minute and those are really interesting but going down the line we have a whopping 48 washington quarters and these go for five bucks a piece they go for basically spot um you know they're not they're not anything particularly special we also have two standing liberty quarters they're both in pretty abysmal shape um but you know two of those are not bad we did get four excuse me we got five barber quarters with one in pretty spectacular shape now i'm not talking mint state or anything that's going to be like really valuable but like i said you usually find these in not great shape and this one has like the full rim and the design on the back is really sharp and this one might be a competitor to go into my typeset and replace what i have in there now i can't remember what the condition i have right now is but this one might end up replacing it and these guys these guys are really nice and these guys go for about six bucks a piece a little bit over spot dime time yes that's right we are ready for some dime time and i am going to show you the two different types of dimes we got we got a whopping 57 mercury dimes unfortunately no better date no key date no varieties no nothing like that but still we've got 57 of these and that is good enough for me i am never gonna complain about having 57 mercury dimes and these go for about two dollars and 25 cents a piece so a nice little bit over spot and we've got if you thought that was good we've got 113 silver dimes these roosevelt dimes 1964 and earlier we've got 113 of them and those go for two bucks a piece so a little bit over spot as well um but uh still like these are i you know when it comes to silver like i love the the silver dollars i love the larger chunkier coins that's like what i pre i tend to stack but people go wild for the dimes because they're you know fractional silvers they're a very small amount of silver and if you end up wanting to use them to actually barter it's really really good because you can get down to a very very micro level right like you could buy a bag of potatoes with uh with these dimes right you couldn't really do that with a silver dollar right a silver dollar you'd be way overpaying for those potatoes and i guess i digressed who needs to know about buying potatoes with silver coins but hey that's what this channel has come to right we talk about buying potatoes with silver roosevelt times now before we go over the foreign stuff let's take a look at these silver rounds we already looked at the american silver eagle this is really cool these are actually really rare there's none on ebay right now and it's two ounces roughly of sterling silver from the aladdin hotel in 1967 really really cool design it's a shame that the reverse has uh you know a bunch of pvc damage but because this is not a numismatic coin you could definitely clean this off whoever i sell this to will definitely i assume will end up cleaning this this reverse side we've got just a random one ounce of silver nothing special i do not love silver rounds like that we have another universe sorrow these i love this is a 1972. we got a whole bunch of them in the previous purchase from this same gentleman and these have a really really nice premium these universe sorrows go for 33 dollars which is uh basically what the american silver eagles go for so that should tell you something all right let's move on to the foreign stuff so we've got a smattering of of non-canadian stuff and then a bunch of canadian stuff so we've got this south african coin really really cool um i'm still toying with like the idea of trying to get one silver coin from every country in the world uh i got inspired by christian from treasure town by the way if you haven't checked out his channel you definitely should um i got inspired by him because he's doing one coin from every uh issuing state slash country in the world and throughout history um i want to do that but in silver so i might hold on to this south african coin as the representation for that but i'm not sure if i'm ready to take on yet another massive collecting project this over here is really cool this is a five dinars coin from algeria so i was wrong when i said it's from the uae or when i thought it was from the uae and it is 75 silver not bad at all by the way the south african coin is 80 silver all right now we've got oh i did miss a couple of the uh you know bits and bobs over here we've got you know these three uh u.s cents one wheat cent one indian headset and one steel sent dna headset goes for about a dollar these two are you know effectively worthless right not worthless but you know if you buy a whole bunch of wheat cents then it's worth something but one wheat cent on its own if it's a common date no variety no nothing it's you know like two cents or something okay let's take a look at these canadian silver coins uh first off we have this beautiful 1967 loon dollar uh it's a loon in there and it is 1967. uh i believe this is 80 silver we've got queen elizabeth ii on there really nice from that same commemorative series we have this coin again i'm asking somebody to tell me what kind of animal this is bobcat or lynx i don't know but it's really nice as well we have a bunch of canadian quarters we have eight of them over here really really nice uh they're all in kind of like you know rough shape um one of them is the 50 variety from 1968 but the rest are the 80 we've got a half dollar nice nothing too special this is cupronickel so it's not silver but it's still really nice it is the 1867 confederation coin really really cool and we've got these four different canadian nickels not really worth much but then this which is still my favorite coin in the whole lot the 20 cents newfoundlandcoin from 1904 absolutely gorgeous king edward the seventh really great condition really beautiful coin cool history that i'd like to learn more about and i am very happy this is going right in my personal collection most of those rest of this stuff will be for sale but they're going to be a few little bits and bobs that will end up in my personal collection two last things before we wrap things up we have this 1960 small date uh mint set and i do have to do a little more research i'm not 100 sure the value and i'm also not 100 sure if this is indeed a small date so i have to do more research on it but that's a really really important lesson for any of you guys that are going to be buying collections you cannot ever trust what is written on a package you buy the coin not the holder you buy the coin not the packaging you buy the coin not the story just because somebody put this on here doesn't mean it's true doesn't mean they were an expert numismatist this very well may be a 1960 small date i believe it refers specifically to the uh one cent coin i'm not a hundred percent sure because i'm not super well versed in these varieties but i'm going to look into it and if it is a small date then i will certainly pay him out for the value uh premium that comes with the small date variety but if not then i'll just pay him for the normal mint set but definitely always make sure to do your own research don't just rely on what's written on the 2x2 or on you know a label over here and last but not least we had a couple of clad coins there were three random uh dimes that are not silver that were mixed in these three belgium belgian coins which i said i did not think were silver uh i was right um these are not indeed these are not silver uh these are really not worth anything and we've got one dollar eisenhower and these i just pay uh you know face value for i never pay under face value so for these he's going to get a dollar 30 uh because it's basically just a courtesy uh to pay him for what he sent me even though these are not silver wow what a pleasure that was to go through that collection it had everything i could possibly want it had silver it had american coins it had world coins it had such interesting variety such cool pieces such good value and i had such a blast i am sure you guys enjoyed coming along for the ride with me and going through this collection now at the end of all of these collection purchase
