45acp vs 10mm for EDC??? - CLAY BLOCKS

[Music] hey everybody how you doing this is about to be a really fun video out at the range today with heavy metal we got another clay block video this one highly requested this check it out we're going to compare the 45 acp against the 10 millimeter using the exact same round that being hornady xtp's so you can see in the 10 millimeter it's a 155 grainer and with the 45 it's a 230 grainer so tell you what real quick let's uh put them on the chronograph just to see what kind of speeds we're actually getting i'm going to shoot the 45 out of my glock 21 and the 10 millimeter out of my springfield xdm the this is literally uh what i carry for the most part between those two and with that horn of the ammo i figure if you're going to carry you might as well carry a man's gun with a man's caliber i'll probably just hurt a bunch of feelings right there anyways that's what i carry let's shoot one on the chronograph out of each and see what uh kind of numbers we see on the machine then we're going to hit these blocks of clay and it should be pretty awesome comment down below what you like better 230 grain 45 or 155 grain 10 millimeter and then we're gonna see if i change your mind with this clay video but check it out let me get the chronograph out real quick all right first shot here with the 45 see what kind of speed we get 888 feet per second let's see what we get out of the 10 millimeter all right here we go 10 millimeter 1367 so same round in those hornady xtps but almost 500 more feet per second out of the 10 millimeter let's set up those clay blocks and see what the clay has to think about it all right now the 45 on the clay i'm at like i don't know four or five yards here i'm dead center of it pretty good shot let's go check it out so from what i could see i think we hit it pretty near dead center let's go check out that clay up close i'm walking up to it like i said i think we hit pretty near dead center nose area with that 45 coming all the way around here definitely a great fruit size maybe even basketball size hole out the back definitely definitely did a number on that clay so there you have it that's what happens with the 45 acp now let me move that over to the side try to hit it with a 10 millimeter i'm gonna get a new block see what happens with that 10 millimeter it's faster and lighter i don't know let's see what happens all right here we go with the 10 millimeter same distance same exact type of block see what happens go for a square shot here with this one too wow i don't know about you guys but huge difference huge difference man that's nuts let's go check that out now i don't know about you guys but that i think was an awesome video showing the difference between a 45 and a 10 millimeter same brand ammo same shot setup same clay between that 45 and the 10 millimeter but hey those are two pistols that i carry on a frequent basis i'm not one of those guys who's going to tell you what to carry you know a lot of people say 45 because america a lot of people say a millimeter because it holds more rounds or 380 because they can fit in my pocket i'm not going to tell you what to do a key thing is if you do carry uh make sure that you can hit what you're aiming at 100 of the time and practice up i don't care if you carry a 22 long rifle as long as you can hit what you're aiming at but anyways i'm not going to tell you what to do like i said i just wanted to make a video showing you the difference between two very common calibers some of the more powerful calibers if you will some people will argue with you on that too but quick video clay blocks 45 versus 10 millimeter comment down below which one you like better and tell me why i'm always interested in hearing that but appreciate you guys watching don't forget to check out all the links down below subscribe to my friends at heavy metal we'll see you guys on the next you
