Wyatt Earp FRONTIER MARSHAL 1939 Randolph Scott as Wyatt! Cesar Romero as Doc! FREE Western Classic

[Music] hi I'm Rob word welcome to words way back today we're going way back to the very first authorized film about the legendary Wyatt her Doc Holiday and the gun fight at the OK carral it's called Frontier Marshall from 1939 starring Randolph Scott as Wyatt and Caesar Romero as Doc Holiday Now The Legend of Wyatt was based on Stuart n Lakes book Wyer Frontier Marshall everything we know about Wyer really came from this book The Story of Wyatt Doc in the OK Corral has been remade several times this being the first 7 years later of course John Ford remade it as My Darling Clementine there are a lot of similarities and a lot of things about both of them that make them worthwhile of course this film is only a mere 71 minutes so it flies by there's terrific action in this and Randolph Scott is good and a lot of people think Caesar Romero's portrayal of Doc Halliday not holiday in this movie and he is also a surgeon not a dentist there are some inaccuracies in both versions but people think that he's better than Victor Mature I'll leave that up to you you let me know what you think of course this film and this story The Legend of Wyer has been remade multiple times let's hope it's remade more times and just as good as the last few times with Tombstone being my very favorite one the Kurt Russell Val cummer version of course the Wyatt her version is nice too with Kevin Cosner and a brilliant Dennis Quaid 1955 was the year The Life and Legend of Wyer premiered on television and Stuart Lake who wrote this book was still around he was a consultant on that series it's amazing I think you're really going to enjoy this of course they didn't have the budget to go to Monument Valley like John Ford did in My Darling Clementine but they did go you guessed it to Lone Pine California for some scenes most of this film takes place at night and Charlie Stevens has the same role in both he's the grandson of gono Ward Bond he's in both versions too this version and the John Ford version in this one he plays an ineffectual Marshall and in the John Ford version he's Morgan herb I always enjoy looking at two different versions of the same story just to see what the
