Why do Tree Services Chip Such BIG WOOD? Seems a Waste.

[Music] hey hey youtube good to see you again here we are on another job site i'm gonna do some crane work today dead fur trees the saws you hear are ass blonde the uh line clearance guys who are working nearby and interestingly enough they did a job for us yesterday and you might see that video although we're not allowed to film those guys but here we got a bunch of dead fur trees one two three four five six i think total all in this little spot got the 19. for people who hate us for chipping wood this is a classic example of why we chip wood so we're way away from home we're a long ways from anywhere and fur tree is good firewood decent firewood but we don't have anybody to give it away to and we don't want to make a long trip home with lots of wood and the neighbor to this guy will take chips they'll be nice chips because the best chips come from wood the best wood chips come from wood and what i mean by that is not little twiggly branches but stemwood okay so we'll we'll be making some beautiful product here some beautiful chips the firewood guys can hate that if they want but i don't see them here to pick up this wood for free so we're chipping it and that's why the ax19 makes us happy because we can dump load after load of chips chips at the neighbor and we can keep working here without having a bunch of wood to haul home at the end of the day we probably will take some home though because like that's a pretty big tree it'll look smaller on youtube but it's tall crane probably won't it'll be a little sketchy if we use the crane we may have to top it first but the point is that's a little bigger than i want to chip and so we'll probably take some home and this is our drop zone right here am i talking too much have i turned into a narrator uh have i turned into a documentary style guy cause that's not whatever i wanted to do so but we're doing it aren't we we're doing that instead of making hollywood videos we're we're just talking to you today again my apologies for you who would rather see a short abbreviated video we'll keep it as short as we can we got damien over here going up with a monkey beaver harness and suspenders he's complaining right now that it's adjusted wrong because i borrowed it and i am a better size than him he's the wrong size so that's why he's complaining about the adjustment we may try the black saw a little bit degrees here but i could never set anything that big down in this tiny space so we gotta we gotta make a smaller pick than we can pick just because of the put down area so here's what one tree looks like in this truck 15 inch diameter tree [Music] [Applause] [Applause] what's up brian's coming out that was pretty smooth that was maximum angle up so i was like i was almost too close to it if people think i'm being too slow youtube it's because we're trying not to wreck this flower right here just in case they like it and a couple other little flowers around here oh [Music] this guy likes to keep his gate closed it's interesting to me that all these years i did tree work and it was all about not having to move the wood very far first of all we made everything into wood and we're always looking for a place to leave it close nearby where it cut and we would stipulate because people you know you cut a tree and then they want it out back somewhere and we're like no that's another thing we're not doing that so then you get mechanized equipment the skid steer and we are literally willing to go through a remote control gate over and over and over with tons literally tons of wood and haul it away sometimes we're happier if they want it gone than if they want it left because then we don't have to cut it as many times so mechanization changes the industry it changes changes your back i can tell you that when i started buying equipment i would say pay your equipment guy or pay your doctor the ax19 would chip that but no reason we got two empty trailers out there so we will save some of it for you wood guys that are crying yeah no i know it's we want to be sure okay [Applause] [Music] hmm uh-oh looks like we failed it's gonna be okay little buddy [Music] um [Music] oh between the other trees i don't want to go back and forth too many times because we'll probably be cutting them like chop you know as they come down cut like that that's all the energy i have to explain right now because it's so tiring running that crane we just got it attached with two half hitches and terminated choked off with slings now we're coming down and jeff's gonna cut this one oh so uh watch for his little pee pod thing here careful you're really close to it careful careful i think my helmet cam's on it right now i can't see august's head so i assume he can't see it ten feet off the ground i'm like yep that'd be right about where i pass out oh yeah oh i'm no good wouldn't want to go out there when i was a kid yeah i'd be up at the very top hanging on in the middle of a windstorm yeah because i thought it was cool dude seriously i was up there oh [Music] okay youtube this one's a little too big right here to be doing in one pic probably so damien's up there setting it up and we'll take half the tree and then see we gotta lift it up as high as we can go 80 degrees and then it stops then we got somehow jam it through here each time and it's like a raccoon trap i mean in a good way the raccoon can get his hand in there fine and then we let go of it out here which means the raccoon can get his hand back and then he's over there again i know you guys love details so here you go here's some details what we're doing damien's up there just having an easy day the hardest part i guess of this is the same thing that would bother anybody is heat it's hot out probably in the high 90s i'm done with it he's bringing that these pieces back and then back in between these trees laying it down like that [Applause] oh it's my thing sorry pardon yeah it's lincoln
