WHAT ARE MY $150,000 WATCHES WORTH NOW?

so here we are today essential watches and you're probably wondering why I'm not doing a lovely intro in sunny Beverly Hills no it's not raining nothing to do with that there's a much better reason important stuff no it's so like that's important right now he's not very important but I want to tell everybody what you did you might know that he crashed his car and I said he wasn't fit to drive a car you know I don't like sitting in a car when he's driving so he adopted one of those little electric scooters I won't go to details the rest okay so it's not a scooter what is it it's not like a bird scooter it's an electric bike it does 25 miles per hour it's pretty cool it's got neon yellow grips and ham and it just needs a driver someone that knows how to ride it without falling off needing crutches breaking their ankle and all these other thing la blah blah blah blah blah fine anyways so we are here with Seth today and I thought you guys would be very interested to hear about what happened to the value of the crazy purchase I made last year's about a year ago I bought a hundred and fifty grams worth of watches from Seth for some of my my friends colleagues executives etc and we want to know what they're worth so Seth has been doing some research I believe you're totally prepared right I'm totally prepared what a professional thank you so so let's figure out and see what they're actually worth if I made a good buy well actually it doesn't matter to me because I away right have you said that if they went up went down and where trends are going in we'll look at the things that you've got today so let's start right what am i it's so when you came here and you wanted to make that purchase at the end of the day stop I am the king of interrupting people king of interrupting people I just noticed this he has a Jacob watch here yes don't let me forget we want to bring that out I'm wearing Mike today's very similar look at that not quite as bling equipment that we go we'll talk about that soon sorry I really where was that I promise not to interrupt so at the end of the day when you made that purchase of those watches these were for gifts correct purchase 11 watches the total amount that when we added up correctly I made a mistake when I added in my head but the correct valuation was a hundred fifty-three thousand five hundred we did a couple coin flips it went up it went down at the end of the day we agreed upon one hundred fifty thousand dollars so you paid $150,000 for those 11 watches I'd like to go through them one by one and basically analyze for you how they did if they went up they went down I know you were buying them as gifts you weren't necessarily buying them as investments but in the day when people buy watches for me I like for the values to go up not down let me meet you and I think it's very important to buy something even when I bought them I was trying to figure that they would maintain their value or go up a little bit I'm curious to see what actually happened alright let's do it let's do it um so by the way I usually read the comments on some of the videos that you've put out and I've noticed that some of your fans have wondered why I never offer you a drink so you'll never read The Ivy dikko and they oh yeah they always say something like I'm shopping in Beverly Hills I always get offered a drink so I'd like to offer you actually a glass of champagne Michael and Adam which like one two you don't you know my goodness okay they're gonna disappoint I don't drink my father my knee no you do I don't what uh a said the amount was actually one hundred fifty three thousand five hundred in the end it went down to 150 so basically you got a two discount at the very end little something all right so the price to be agreed upon this is the first watch so this is a year approximately year early 2000s stainless steel Rolex Daytona with the Rolex somebody that one similar yeah that's the newest bring out as we the newest version sure so we can compare it so this is the newer version with the ceramic bezel black dial so it's a very what Jason alright so a year ago you paid fourteen five for the locks that's the price that I quoted you and that's what you paid okay so do my calculation after a 2 percent discount it actually brought the price down to fourteen thousand to ten that's what I thought that's yeah that's what you paint that day okay now as of 2019 november 2019 this is a watch that if you were coming to my shop the price is gonna be right around seventeen five for that watch well yeah it could be a little bit less a little bit more but more or less it's about seventeen five these watches have done very well I should say these watches right here so this one I'm holding here how much is this my so base I'm asking 21,000 this is the newest version with a black ceramic bezel twenty-one dot there was drunk I'm trying to rest my elbow in here let me show you fell off the bike almost goodness gracious me oh man I feel so incompetent right now even believe and I could say something but I won't I'm nice alright so this is very pretty this is a nice work what is the list price of this well the list price I believe is twelve thousand seven hundred this is twenty-one thousand yeah it goes through a wheel for retail ooh yeah everybody we've talked about in the past stainless steel they told us for years I've always gone for way over retail price so I did well with my first purchase yeah in fact this is the best watch in terms of percentage that you did that day don't bang on the counter I'm sorry so X a question please that yeah this watch has gone up considerably yes in twelve months yeah do you think that's because they came out with a new one I think a lot to do with it is the fact that these kept on creeping up higher and higher and so he brought up the older as well yeah absolutely let me ask another question so what do you think is gonna happen to the value so now it's 17 something what do you think you'll because we can do this a year from now what do you think it's gonna be in the year will it go up you know I don't I don't think it's gonna go up another 23% but I do see it still going up slightly yeah I'd estimate 2 to 6% let's just slightly I don't I don't see them sky better than money in the bank right yeah you get to enjoy it the same time well it depends on yet what your investments are but yeah if you're only getting one percent in a checking account money Martha listen to this was too technical money especially if you get to wear the watch and enjoy it usually usually when you buy watches they could go down in price okay so we'll move on along the next one please alright so the next watch you bought was actually the exact same watch with a black dial and I told you when we made the video the black dials were a little bit stronger than white dials so I was more you actually I charge you fifty nine dollars more for it correct so the trend has continued black dial of the previous generation Daytona still are worth more than the white dials I estimated that I would sell this watch in my shop today for approximately eighteen thousand dollars so similar so yeah so you've gained about fifteen percent on this watch the other watch 23 this one fifteen so you say the white dollars a better went to buddy well no it just happened to be that I gave you a better deal on the white I probably owned a little better the demand wasn't there so I sold you that one at fourteen five that was the market price and these were getting MNC me 15 or dollars more so they've still gone up I giving this one a 15 percent improvement in price so far so good we're on a you win upside you actually up right now I'm not but the guys your purchase in your generals up about six thousand dollars right now limit to watches so you did a fantastic job six grand on how much in total 12 what was at 12.15 one thirteen thousand thirty thousand he's upset yeah so you're up about 20 percent yeah got a couple a to that right you're on a roll right now excellent now they can all right your next purchase was a blinged-out white gold aftermarket President Daytona Day date this is such a pretty look yeah so you know it's it was a good buy 13,000 for it's a completely all the diamonds are after set so the dials after said the bezel and all the diamonds on the bracelets this was this smaller one the 36 posts 36 right yes you know the old men's size is 36 now they'll believe me whether yeah so you know this watch in when I was analyzing I really didn't really see too much movement in this watch basically you paid 13,000 think it's worth about $13,000 this watch didn't move do you go up another horrible original item when you get to enjoy it yeah so we can do custom presidents on any watch we can always add diamonds easier to add him on two gold watches but we can also do it on two stainless steel watches interesting alright you don't have one of those do you so that we can look at it no the closest thing I have is this watch right here with a bowl with the baguettes you're very bossy today well no because I couldn't tell us but in some of the comments like you said yeah tell them not to bang the counter cuz it sounds loud on the mic yeah have a drink chill out oh yeah cheers - Cheers did I say all the nice things that I wanted to say at the end of the video just in case I think it did like I say them again no are you allowed to drink on painkillers are you on painkillers maybe the next why she bought watch number four you bought the Hope Diamond alright this this was a fantastic purchase at the time you paid twelve thousand five hundred with your 2% discount bribed out of 12 to 50 I would conservatively conservatively estimate the resale value or that what I'm selling these for right now at $15,000 really yeah even pushing for brand new ones right now sixteen five but 15,000 conservatively is with this watch would sell for right now so so far we've looked at four watches for Rolexes they've all done okay the worst kitchen area was broke even right and then the others all gave money so so far Rolex is in under breath in the last year Rolex has continued to appreciate especially the sport models so and the whole definitely did so you made you have a return of 22 percent on this one it's the same thing let's say that that last Rolex that kind of broke even if that hadn't have got the aftermarket diamonds on it and it was just the standard version would that have gone up in value you would think so but in the last year I haven't really seen white gold men's presidents as a hot item can I throw something and then easily become a hot item but it's not right now I'm just interested to see if they off the market diamonds sort of have an impact on how much let's say that well I guess no one's gonna bring out a whole car they but let's say you blinged out one of the other watches aftermarket would that affect the price yes typically we see that when somebody has a watch as aftermarket stones installed these watches hardly ever actually go up in price dresses as a matter of fact when you go to sell it on this secondary market after it has aftermarket stones it's kind of hard to sell okay and dealers kind of want to kill you on it when you go to trade it in so dress thing if you're gonna put aftermarket stones on a watch you really want to hang on to that watch and not decide later because buyer's remorse so you want to trade it later there was one other thing I was gonna say that that particular president as well as a smaller size if it was the bigger size that would also be a different story because the men are now going to the 40 and 41 millimeters right right yeah I know so one more thing in before I get totally obliterated good example the patsak 5980 the gold one if it's plain it's worth a lot of money the moment that you start putting aftermarket diamonds on it's worth a lot less a lot less than a standard factory one giant golden accurate yes for sure it's a catch-22 let's say you you want you bought that watch plane and you get the crazy idea one day you want to make it all iced out so you go and spend close to twenty-five thirty thousand dollars putting high-grade stones all around it and now you've paid instead of paying let's say 164 now you're not watch for close to 190 you go to trade that in later hug regret plus 110 115 maybe that's what dealers gonna pay you for that watch we all just don't so it's not you've got to love that watch and know that you're hanging on to it you owe the left oh no you don't want to trade that back right as you probably storms on the watching cool let's move on moving right along okay the next was just an entry level 36 millimeter nature does aerobics so this watch was $4,000 do you have one yeah we have something similar right here okay open up it's just that just the brace that's different but yeah I'll take it out no problem pretty watch yeah I mean this is a staple of the Rolex line that men's day just so this is just a 36 it looks slightly smaller yeah possibly the smooth bezel makes it look a little smaller but that's definitely a 36 millimeter so this is the same watch tool insensitivities up just know it's the yeah it really is why the Jubilee bracelet alright so you pay 4000 for this watch after 2 percent discount brings in about 39 20 these watches right now we're bringing 44 4500 ollars in the shop they've gone up about 10% so another good buy so far I'm enjoying this yeah your mom is there some bad news coming they stopped five use I don't care all right but it's very interesting okay another row even another Rolex exactly right so the six watch she bought was a circa 2000 men's 36 millimeter DD president very straight factory watch with no modification this is what they call it double quick it was $13,000 after two percent discount you're paid twelve thousand seven forty so right now these early 2000s late 1990s double clicks are minimum minimum in my shop 13 five to $14,000 so another watch that's gone up yeah so they're all good I mean it just it's not like you're gonna get rich on what you're making here but it's it's a good bite right this is excellent view from a year ago these definitely went up the demand increase I sold two of these just yesterday really yeah it's also pretty watch and you can wear it anywhere it's classy sporty even making this watch for close to 70 years so they still make this site yes they absolutely still make this eyes definitely amazing cool next one you don't have one right I was looking leave it or not I sold two yesterday I have one on a strap right here here's the seventh one you the middle okay so that is basically a 1990 ladies president that's a 26 millimeter Prez it's a pretty small size this is really not in demand I'd say right now it's tiny yeah most wouldn't want to be a watch an amazing watch every woman in the world wanted this watching yeah 10 years ago right it was always like they wanted he's in a hearse they want a 36 and the 26 - now they get a 40 and the 36 exactly so you know even at the time you you I remember watching the video you said Oh 6000 I'll take that that was an incredible price for an all gold watch believe it or not this watch has actually gone down really yeah really yeah I would grade this right now if you came in my shop I'd be able to sell you this watch for 5500 so on this one this one you've got a 6% price decrease because you actually after your 2% you paid 58 80 I'd give it a $5,500 value lost 380 on that watch six percent not terrible not terrible but not considering that you would have been up on all the others have they have been for you right but I mean still if you think about that it's not much money so watch like this this is actually one of the best money buys right now in terms of ladies watches getting a solid gold 18 karat president iconic look it was it was a 2000s or mid-2000s these go up to about seventy five to eight thousand eight thousand five hundred the 2009 teens are still like around 15,000 oh really but but the early ones from made of late 80s Early 90s their 5500 all day long do people still buy these really not really I know taking my jacket off because it's very woman here may I know it's like 900 degrees ah that's so much but that's not gonna be yeah I'll drink to that Cheers as Adam says I'll drink to anything do you a refill there's one going why not oh my goodness oh my this is like calm this watch was a little controversial because when I first quoted you to watch in the video going back to I said one price at 34,000 then we were talking about a little ways down and I said 32 the third time we talked about the watches at 33 so I read in the comments they were like oh this guy is just coming up with prices it was an accident obviously I don't do that on purpose right look I used to this thank you we need you in more videos please so okay all right thumbs up if you want Riley in the videos all right so this watch is still highly in demand all right was the price okay so in the end the real price was 32 I figured it 432 after the 2% discount came to 31 360 that's what I thought that's basically we think correct so Royal Oaks are still very much in demand in fact I'm wearing one today I'm wearing the same size of 30 mm they're nine millimeter which dual time it's a good size for my size wrist yep and Royal Oaks are hot however this is kind of like a rare watch it's not easily they're not just laying around it's hard to find and so finding a comp and figuring out what the current value I had to do some research so I went on the corner of 24 that's a really good website for figuring out what the average selling prices of watches are and there are a couple of people believe it or not asking $50,000 for this watch really yes but then at the same time there's a couple sellers asking exactly what I sold you this watch for 32,000 there's a spread yeah depending upon condition whether or not has box of papers there's a pretty great ask you a question because you mentioned this whoops ikura 24 yeah I've never bought a watch from it because a I don't like spend the attack of money and not knowing who I'm dealing with or seeing it in touching it but I've heard and I don't know if it's true correct me if I'm wrong there's a lot of adverts for watches on there that don't exist so that people call up for them and then they try and sell them something different was accurate knockers okay so I've been selling on prong 24 since 2009 it's a fantastic platform it's the eBay of watches right now and to come into the defense of crown 24 a little bit in the early days that was absolutely an issue you were allowed to list as many watches as you wanted to and there was no repercussions and you as a seller if you didn't actually have what you were selling however in the last couple years the people that run the crown 24 website they're based in Germany they've become a lot stricter with their sellers and if people start complaining that a seller is doing that to them the way you've described they actually start banning you from being able to sell watches I'm from 24 oh that's amazing so it's really really good so it's getting better so I was correct though yes for sure in the old days this was notorious for all sellers on phones 24 interesting oh yeah there's no so there's really not like that anymore more or less it's a good selling experience for good to those bums up to crunch so you've been selling online since 2009 no I've been selling online since 2002 I've been so lately thank you yes Wow yeah even with a website but chrono 24 only was established in 2009 right actually possibly 2007 I think I was two years I didn't even know the internet existed in - I was gonna say 2002 was early dad that was early I had been in the business for a while so I was I was right there ready to go so the internet really started in about 2000 2001 work so to get popular I was one of the first people to put music tough sell at 40,000 so I figure on this one you broke even that's very fair yeah there's got to be some bad news coming here for these watches they can't all be going up yeah he's saving the worst to last all right watch number nine was a drug pair of old world time chronograph handy handy handy watch on a rose gold bracelet that's why I bought it because the person that I had in mind that was going to be the reciprocate of this watch would really appreciate the the the weight of it it was a massive piece you know so not my favorite watch but substantial yeah tell me it felt all right so like I said I'm trying to be conservative I'm not trying to I didn't miss drinking it away here okay I love filming like this my little drinking still got my champers yeah you said right just make sure champagne for you guys just-just-just Adam this alright so after two percent discount brought the price down a 19,600 again this was kind of a hard one for me to find comps the reason why is because this watch generally almost 99% of time you find it on a leather strap on a leather strap it sells between ten to thirteen thousand that's the price of this watch the retail I believe was up at 25 or 26 thousand pre-owned they're about I don't eleven thousand dollars caught on a strap when I tried to actually find someone selling this watch on a metal brace I couldn't find it couldn't find one online so in that sense the gentleman that you gave this watch to he ended up with a pretty rare watch that being said Gerard pair go in the last year has done nothing I mean the brand from from my account it's it just there's no no one's talking about this brand no one's calling me up wanted my GP watches it's a shame because they do make an e-book jus I don't know what they're doing wrong maybe the people GP will hear this video and I think I think you know one of the things looking at this watch it's not modern it's not eye-catching really well that being said I mean there's lots of different models that GP makes and some of them are better looking in this one right but in general there's there's very little demand for draw pair but right now marketing I suppose they should give some of these to some tennis players and pull the wind riders right never they were I don't know what they're gonna have to do but that being said like I I give it you but you paid nineteen six for it this one I'm actually gonna downgrade the value believe it or not even though I still believe you got a pretty fair price at twenty thousand for this watch and it's super rare I couldn't even find another one to comp it against I'm gonna bring the price down eighteen thousand for this one so I'm gonna give this some eight percent loss still not horrendous I thought you were gonna save fifteen thousand that also no not how much because it's it's still pretty rare let me ask you this question so somebody came to you with one of these watches wanted to sell it would you even consider buying it or what do you say no I don't want to get off for sure I'd buy it I mean it's not worthless but no no she's worthless but I mean I don't buy watches for the same price I'm going to sell them for I mean nobody would know don't now would it make good business sense yeah I'm disappointed now I thought you didn't make money on me yeah so I mean I'm not gonna say how much I pay for it but it's it's it's so relatively close to it right itself or 18,000 no but yeah for sure cool all right what just didn't I didn't realize that was watch number nine now okay cube low do you guys remember talking about this you blow watches I do is you know I'm not a super fun of who plays ooh so believe it or not I mean I actually do well with you blow I sell a lot in the whole section something like forty six thousand five hundred this happens to be a limited edition only thirty pieces boutique only want same series yeah same exact size 46 millimeters oh yeah this is sort of reminiscent of an AP LeBron James with the grey and the rose gold combo and how did this courts do okay well this watch is about this wonderful so this was all right again I'm trying to be conservative um I I don't I can't really say that Hugh blows have gone up in the last year so I downgraded this one a little bit so you paid fifteen thousand six eighty I'm actually giving it a value of fifteen thousand went down terrible four percent to 4 percent pretty huh this one this one is 20 mm this one they made 500 pieces this one they made 30 this is to me a better looking watch than this also has a rose gold bezels as opposed to the black bezel I like really not nice is it pretty much gorgeous I was I would be scared of buying it thinking it's going to lose value but it probably wasn't right who is the saying if we had a crystal ball right more or less I think you about break even on this watch in a year from now but no one has a crystal ball that is a crystal but yeah nice never seen this watch with the red buttons mine has white buttons you see hmm very cool what so how much did your watch meet up for I believe is 140,000 see there one hundred and twenty thousand one hundred and forty thousand one at one of the two this one's almost forty this is I think thirty nine thousand thirty-eight or thirty-nine thousand retail look at the dial so the dial on mine oops I you look at the the dial there's actually diamonds running through the dial you see that especially oh sorry upside down see it's the champagne I swear to God I did not notice I really didn't notice
