is your one only Fire spark 81 with your daily dose of video goodness and today I'm going to show you how to build the ultimate jack of all trades support character for Baldur's Gate 3. let's get to it if you are looking for a build that can buff your party keep them alive past any and every ability check in the game as well as deal decent amounts of damage and manipulate everybody around them then this is the build for you so you can make this build with any race that you want to play the second half of this video where I'm showing you a leveling up I'm actually going to be showing you leveling up on a tiefling as that is my main character however if I could go back and start from scratch for this build I would start with a get Yankee and the reason for that is their racial abilities that help to make this a much more rounded build and make you a more Jack of all trades build first off you start with astral knowledge which allows you to gain Proficiency in all skills of the chosen ability which is absolutely insane so for example if you're doing stealth thing you've just put this into dexterity and all of the sudden you are an absolute stealth Master if you are doing talking things you put this into Charisma and all of a sudden you are a Charisma Master also in later levels they get Misty step and the Geth Yankee psionics jump which allows them to jump just insane distances on top of that we also get the magehand cantrip which is super handy for random odds and ends and the Marshall Prodigy which allows us to be proficient with short swords long swords and greatswords so picking this race will just help you be an overall more well-rounded character and fits better with the end game build now there are a lot of other options that you can do with this if you want something that is more stealthy for example you could go to the doogar or drawer however you pronounce it dwarf which will give you Superior dark vision and the resilience but then later levels you get the ability to turn invisible or if you wanted more move speed for example you could pick the elf and do the wood elf that's going to get you an additional 1.5 meters of move speed as well as keeping you from being Charmed as much or falling asleep so pick whichever race you want to go with here but know that the Geth Yankee is going to be the best in slot for this build the first class we are going to pick is going to be cleric your initial can trips are going to be guidance blade Ward and either produce Flame or sacred flame whichever one of these that you want to go with is gonna be fine I like produce flame a little bit more because we are not going to have a dark vision with this specific class so having produced flame is going to allow us to light the area around us in lots of different situations in this game it is often dark so this is going to have really high utilitarian purposes for our subclass we're going to pick the life cleric worship whichever deity that you want to worship that's not really going to matter but by picking the life cleric we are going to get the ability to wear heavy armor which is going to be insane for our background you want to pick the guild Artisan this is going to give us Insight proficiency which is going to help us read people better in the game so we'll know easily when someone is lying and we are also going to get persuasion proficiency from this as well giving us the ability to persuade people very easily for our ability setup we are going to go eight in strength 10 in dexterity 10 in Constitution yes we are going to be a little squishy 16 in intelligence 14 into wisdom and 16 into Charisma and this will make sense when we get further on into the bill you'll get to pick some other proficiencies here due to our being a cleric you can choose either history religion or medicine I advise choosing religion and history those are going to show up a good bit more than medicine medicine doesn't show up but I have not run into it nearly as much as I have run into religion and history religion being the top one out of these for your prepared spells I would advise starting with a sanctuary command and healing these are going to be a super handy when you're first starting off in the game command is insanely strong so is sanctuary and healing we're just going to help keep your party alive if you are not running with a Healer if you are running with another healer taking a guiding bolts maybe a bit of a better option but you can swap these out at any time you are not in combat so you know choose whichever here to start once you hit Level Two you are going to multi-class you are going to multi-class into wizard for your cantrips I advise going with Firebolt Ray of frost and shocking grass or true strike but I kind of prefer shocking grasp a little bit more as it allows you to easily walk up and Electrify puddles of water or you can freeze puddles of water or other liquids and Firebolt is great for lighting things on fire or your selected spells in the first set of spells you want to learn because you are a wizard you will find all of these Scrolls in and out the game as you're playing and be able to learn them but I would advise starting with a shield this is super handy for me making you more tanky because you'll already be able to wear heavy armor and this will just add five armor class on top of that as well as making you immune to magic Missile expeditious Retreat is super handy for Mobility chromatic orb is super handy for creating surfaces magic Missile great for shooting around corners Ray of sickness really good for poisoning enemies and Ice knife is decent amount of damage and can create a puddle of Frozen water or ice surface underneath of a Target as well but these are just my suggestions for having a good mix of utility as well as being able to deal some damage if need be but in the end pick whichever ones out of here that you like the best at level 3 we are going to pick our next and final class and that is Bard yes this is an insane tri-class build and it is good and so very many things for our cantrips I would advise going with a vicious mockery then pick your choice of either true strike or light once again lighting things up in this game is a super handy for characters that do not have dark vision I haven't found much use for Mirror Image true strike is nice but it's a concentration spell and I try to avoid those when I can but it is nice to give you advantage on attack rolls so either one of these pick whichever one you want I'm gonna throw light in here for our spells now keep in mind that there are a lot of Bard spells that will intersect with our wizard spells even some of which will like you can see here healing word that will intersect with our cleric spells now we don't really want to worry too much about the cleric side of things as we have enough spell slots over there in cleric to get a nice mix of healing and buffing however when it comes to the spells that intersect with our Wizarding spells we want to select spells for our Bard that we want prepared all the time because we only have a limited number of wizard spell slots that we can equip spells into so when you're picking these we want to think what do we want to always have available one of those is going to be heroism this is a really really handy spell yes it's concentration spell which kind of sucks but it's super handy for putting on any of your Martial or fighter style characters then I would highlight highly suggest going with designate Whispers fairy fire and definitely thundering wave this spell is a Hidden Gem and absolutely insane and for our abilities make sure that it is set to deception at level 4 we are going to continue to stick with Bard and I would choose either speak with animals or Tasha's hideous laughter speak with animals it's going to be really handy for talking to other random animals in the game and possibly finding Hidden Side Quests if that's your jam I would uh pick up the speak with animals if you just want to run around and murder everything and you're getting into fights way more than you care about side quest I would go with Tasha's hideous laughter in this build video I'm going to select speak with animals because it has really good utilitarian aspects and makes us a more well-rounded character at level 5 we're going into Bard 3 and this is where we get to pick our Bard subclass and you want to go with College of lore that is because when we hit level six we get additional magical Secrets which lets us pick two crazy op spells we also get to start to pick higher level spells now higher level Bard spells and when you get to this option you want to go with enhanced ability this does not show up in our Mage Spells at all so this is the one you want this is going to allow you to roll Advantage whenever you're going into an ability check that you want to make sure that you make this is super handy for conversations so you don't have to spend your uh points to re-roll and you don't end up you know missing out on something that you definitely want to hit so pick up enhanced ability here now we get to learn a new cantrip and I would just pick up true sight at this point if you haven't picked it up already if you already have true sights mirror illusion once again these don't I haven't really found any use for these ones here friends is okay but I never really use it and don't really need to use it because we Crush ability checks anyway so just go with true strike if you don't have it already for our spells you have a few different options depending on your specific style of lay however I would highly suggest going with cloud of daggers now pretty much all of these spells you'll have access to because you are a mage but having cloud of daggers always prepared this is a really handy AOE spell for cutting off an area and weakening enemies as they come into your Frontline characters this kind of just softens them up a little bit so that your Frontline characters can rip through them faster and helps you deal with large groups of enemies if you have choke points on the map and most of the time when you are in fights you are going to have easy choke points available to you so just having this always available is extremely handy and saves you from having to equip it into one of your wizard slots we also now get to pick our first feat and we are going to choose ability improvements and bump our Charisma up to 18. we are mainly a Bard so having our charisma at 18 is what we want this is going to help our Bard spells hit that much harder at level 7 we are going into Bard 5 we get to pick a new spell here I suggest choosing fear this is a super handy spell to cause a bunch of enemies at one time to drop their weapon once again a lot of these you are going to have access to because we specked into wizard one time there is one here that you will not get access to through being a wizard and that is plant growth and that would be the second option that I would suggest taking Wizards don't get this this is a druid spell as far as I know but it I don't find it as handy as I find this spell here this is good for slowing guys down when they're trying to get to you but if you have a choke point where they're trying to funnel through and you want to slow them down you're better off casting the daggers because holding that there is going to damage them where this is just going to slow them down but if you're playing with a bunch of ranged characters then it may make more sense to have this because you can just basically stop them as they're trying to get to you and soften them up yourself but I'm gonna say go with fear here because unarming m is absolutely fantastic because then you can just have another character pick their weapons up and they can't get their weapons back and then they're just punching you with their fists which in most cases is useless so fear is what we're going to choose here at level eight we're going into Bard six and this is where we get to pick our additional magic secrets we also get a new Bard spell here I would suggest going with bestow curse once again you will get access to bestow curse through being a wizard so if you want to you can now pick up ant growth or literally any of these other spells that you want to have prepared all the time keep in mind that bestow curse means you have to walk up and touch an enemy and it is a concentration spell where plant growth is not so at this point I think we'll just go with plant growth because why not we can just cast it leave it and walk away and then here is the very important one though this is the magical secrets and we want to Warden of Vitality and call lightning these two spells are absolutely insane call lightning is a druid spell which you cannot get access to through being a wizard and Warden of Vitality is a palette in spell which you cannot get access to by being a wizard and these two spells are absolutely nuts you can cast Sanctuary on yourself as keeping the enemy from ever targeting you then cast Warden of Vitality on yourself and use your bonus action every single turn to heal one of your allies you can also use call lightning to do pretty decent damage to an area note that it is a concentration effect enemies can roll a DEX save on this which causes them to only take half damage but it is still a very handy spell to have because once you cast it for 10 turns you can continuously cast it over and over again without having to use up any spell slots and from that point on you would just want to continue to level Bard once you hit max level of 12 that would put you at barred 10 which should get you your last magical Secrets selection from there there's a bunch of different very high level spells that you can pick from I would suggest something like maybe death Ward or contagion any of those spells is going to be insanely handy to use to have always prepared so just pick whichever ones you feel best fits your current play style at this point in the game now here is the fun part about this build if we take a look at our spell book you can see we have three slots in our cleric tree that we can put whatever we want in at any given point of time if you're doing a lot of attacking with this character I would suggest using guiding bolt as your main attack as this not only allows you to deal a decent amount of damage it also gives the next attack roll against the target Advantage you almost always want to have command and Sanctuary available I would make sure these are always there and then swap out your third slot with either healing or guiding bolts whichever one of these you want inflict wounds can also be handy but keep in mind you actually have to touch the Target in order to do it Shield of faith is meh okay it's a concentration spell but it can be used as a bonus action I'm going to leave the healing word here as I like to have the additional healing for my party members now the really fun part here is when we swap over to wizard we have four slots here that we can pick any wizard spell we want and you may be thinking well we only have one level in Wizard what good is that going to do for us well even though we only have one level in Wizard we have a level four spell slot two of them to be exact which means we can learn level 4 spells so anything from one to level four and when we get higher level spell slots we will be able to learn those as well so as you can see here I have a huge list of spells and we can just go through and click all of these and learn them and you can see we just learned 40 new spells so at any given point of time we have access to four of any of these 40 new spells that we learned including very high level spells like wall of fire conjure minor Elemental phantasmal killer or blight as well as all of these other insanely handy spells this gives us absolutely insane flexibility not only do we have these insane Bard spells here always available to us at any given point of time we can use our wizard spell book to fill in the gaps where need be so for example we could throw haste up here we could grab something like shield and have that available to help us increase our defenses if we find that we are getting hit a lot we could grab conjure Elemental if we want to have an additional person fighting with us literally any situation that you run into you can be prepared for if you find yourself wanting to do more damage you can just toss a whole bunch of more damage spells in here and be dealing more damage out there on the battlefield if you find you need to run more of a support role you can toss a bunch of different support spells in here and run more of a support role and a crowd control role it is an absolutely insane and flexible build that gives gives you the ability to do anything and everything you need to do in this game when you need to do it on top of that we are proficient in all armors we are proficient and currently with this build only two Marshall weapons but if you take my suggestion and pick the get Yankee at the beginning you will be proficient in swords and a few other weapons as well however you're never really going to be attacking with a weapon so you kind of don't really worry too much about weapons but it's nice to have them there just in case you want to use them and we also have our bardic inspiration as well as our cutting words and all of our neat little Bart abilities that allow us to just control the battlefield that much more you will also be insanely manipulative having plus 10 to persuasion plus 10 to deception plus seven two intimidation five to Insight allowing us to know if people are lying or read people better six in religion six to history six to Arcane three to sleight of hand and you can see how this character is just absolutely insane and extremely well-rounded and pretty much a jack of all trades Care Bear that can actually do some decent damage if need be all right that is it for this one hopefully you all
